I saw this product on sale at best buy for $298 at my local best buy store and I had to get it. I've never ridden a hoverboard before so I was very concerned if I would be able to balance myself. Upon using it for the first 5 minutes I was able to balance myself and go up to 3 mph. After 15 minutes of use, I can easily go 10mph and be secure on it! Pros: Very easy to use and goes pretty fast 10mph on the full charge with a 11-mile range! Great for quick trips to the local deli for a quick bite. Much affordable than the Pro. You should get the pro if you weigh more than 175lb as it has more power. These have real tires on them so if you go over a bump/cracks/rocks you will still be able to balance yourself. Cons: Kind of heavy. If you are riding it to a store you will need to chain it and park it somewhere because you won't be able to carry it around. This isn't about the product but believe it or not your legs start to hurt after about 30 minutes of continued use because you are just standing in one spot and applying pressure on your feet. All in all if you are considering getting a hoverboard I think this is a great value for the first time purchaser. It would be easy for even a 10 year old to learn!

I have both the pro model and bought the LITE model for my 7 year old child. The thing is built to a high quality standard. A few things I miss on this model vs the PRO. Does not have the headlight for night time riding and the telescoping knee bar. This one is fixed at a very low point (around the shins) for an adult and therefore makes it much more difficult for an adult to ride as this is intended to be steered by the knees. Perfect for a kid not an adult. If I have any advice spend a little extra money and get the pro model. It is amazing. I have so much better control on that one and I do not see another option online to buy a telescoping knee bar for the LITE.

First of all, Best Buy offered the lowest cost than any other retailer I had come across. I wasn’t at all surprised about this. Even if their price was higher, they will price match and I’ve never been hassled when I have asked them to match. Regarding the Segway? I did try it and nearly killed myself. As a result, I will never attempt to ride this “death machine” again. My children and their friends, on the other hand, can’t get enough of it. My kids mastered its use within a day and I just love seeing them zip around on it. The Segway is very responsive and precise from speed control to turning. Oh...and it’s wicked fast, too. Even considering my little mishap, I am still giving it 5 stars based on how my children love this thing. The unit is solid and deserves a top rating. I cannot blame the manufacturer because of my old bones, probably overweight body, and my extreme lack of coordination and grace. I will be getting another as the weather warms up so that my kids can ride together.

This mini Segway is extremely fun. I was really impressed on how well the battery life lasts. I can go for well over an hour of continuous use. The only thing I do not like, if you go too fast, it will lean you back at an extreme incline. It’s a little unnerving, especially if you are go full speed. They should just prevent from leaning any further forward. I’m sure this can be resolved via a software update. If you are on the fence, go ahead and make the purchase. You won’t regret it. Save your money and go for the lite model and not the pro. I’m planning on buying the handlebar attachment which should make it more comfortable to ride.

This is easier to operate than a hover board. It is safer. Has varying speeds. Better balance.

Comparing the lite to the pro: The top speed is the same as the pro and the range is nearly the same. Hence I went with the lite since it did not make senses to pay more for pro. I went through the tutorials, which are required. You the have to go through a tutorial with the board to learn basic riding skills. It takes about 10 minutes. It then allows you to use it with a restricted top speed of 6.5 mph until you travel .6 miles. It also handled 10% grade on my campus with ease. It also tries to keep you within the max limit of 11mph by leaning back when you hit 10. I searched in the app for the anti-theft locking capability and remote control access, but it is not enabled which is I think is a drawback.

I absolutely love this sized-down version of the Segway MiniPro. The Minilite is perfect for my grand-daughter, who was not tall enough for the full-size MiniPro. Now we can ride together. It has the same speed and just about the same long range. The electronics are identical. Yet the price is significantly less.

Great after "learning" speed limits lifted

This is a great little device once you are able to progress beyond the "learning" mode and the initial set of speed restrictions. The user manual is not at all clear about how to lift the speed restrictions so I'll focus my review here. The speed limit and warnings imposed for the first kilometer plus of riding after completing the "learning" mode are frustrating and bordering on dangerous! And it's really more than just the first kilometer, the speed restriction warnings don't get lifted until you've gone more than a kilometer, powered down, and connected to the mobile app after restarting. I almost returned the device after my first ride of about three miles because it was speed limited the ENTIRE way. The user manual mentions the 1 km requirement but it doesn't mention that the speed limit will apply for the duration of your ride after meeting the travel distance requirement. The issue during the kilometer first trip(s) is that the device starts to tilt up to "warn" you and actively try to slow you down. The tilting is so extreme that it is unsafe -- I actually fell off behind the device because it was so uncomfortable and difficult to lean back more to slow down or stop. Now that I'm able to hit 9 miles per hour before the board starts to tilt I am loving it! Easy to maneuver and fun to ride, much faster than walking. A little heavy if you need to carry for any distance but absolutely manageable if you're lifting up on to the bus or the subway. Overall great "last mile" solution for city commutes.

I love these things! Minus the app never being able to sync to the Apple iPhone to communicate - the product itself is great quality overall. They do require a good amount of balance from the rider however- warning.

This is a great entry level product if you want a Segway. It’s can get you where you need to go. It works for adults under 170lbs, but the knee bar/steering is definitely made for a shorter kid. It is safe for a kiddo.

This is good for a kid or someone under 170 lbs. It ha heavy. The knee bar is designed for kids, not adults. Instead of letting you go the full speed, it pulls up to slow you down.
