Keeps loosing connection so to phone and my laptop

I've been a fan of Sennheiser for many years and love my open backed HD 558 headphones. Unfortunately, while being open backed does lead to a wider soundscape, it's not really good for office environments. That's where these come in. Sennheiser continues to set the bar in quality and comfort. Now out of the box, these do have some harsh highs. Some of that was fixed by doing a burn in period and the rest was done with tweaks to the EQ through their companion app. After that, I found these perfect for sitting down to a study session with some gentle background music or getting in depth in a coding session with some fast passed EDM. The active noise cancellation really makes these shine. You won't be distracted by the outside world if you don't want to be. People have had to come tap my shoulder because I couldn't hear them trying to talk to me over my music at medium volume. This too is adjustable in the companion app, allowing you to set how little or much active noise cancellation you would like. Speaking of the app, it really is simple to use. You are asked to create an account, but you're not required to in order to use it. You'll only lose out on a few features such as setting soundscapes based on location. The app also handles setting your EQ, ANC, and updating the firmware over Bluetooth. But this headset can do more than just Bluetooth. The included headphone jack will allow you to connect to basically any music player made in the last 40 years. The cable is a bit short though, so you probably won't be using it with your desktop unless you buy an extension cable. Speaking of PC, while this device uses USB-C to charge, I found that if you plug the USB cable into your PC, it will show up as a fairly decent sound card. It's not something Sennheiser needed to include, but it's nice that they did. I wouldn't necessarily use these for DJing, but having two separate audio outs can be useful for mixing on a digital board. Lastly, the carrying case is very well made. The included cables all have nice holding elastic and everything fits into a small space for easy traveling with them. All in all, I have no real complaints about these and plan on using them for many years to come. Let's just hold the battery holds out.

I am coming from using some Beats Solo 3 that I could not honestly use for more than 2-3 hours because they became uncomfortable. Sometimes I couldn’t even make it through a full flight because it just got too uncomfortable on my ears. I welcomed the opportunity to tried these ACCENTUM Plus Wireless, and having never owned some ACCENTUM headphones, I am super content with them from the comfort level, the look, the battery, and the sound which is the most important part! Here is a quick breakdown of my scores on a few areas that are important to me. Design 5/5 -If it’s not broke don’t fix it. This design has become the usual from all companies, and while it’s not different or unique, I love the black-on-black look of these. For me, it gives me this sense of professional (I used them for work) a stealthy. Battery 5/5 - Fast charge. USB-C. Long battery. Can’t complain at all. Touch Buttons 4/5 - The touch controls on the headset are responsive and not complicated. However, the one I struggle with the most and I wish was improved is the turn on and off button. Not sure why I must hold it for 3 seconds and sometimes it doesn’t work and instead goes into pairing mode. This should be made easier on the next gen. Adaptive Noise Cancellation – 5/5 – Up until this point, I had not really found some headphones that would truly cancel out the noise while vacuuming my home, and these work. perfect You turn it on and it blocks out the sound. Transparency mode is also great. Phone App 5/5 – Easy to set up. Easy to use. Not too complicated. This is how apps should be. Overall, I highly recommend these headphones. Coming from having a pair of Beats, it’s night and day. The comfort level. The battery. The noise cancellation. Everything is better.

These Sennheiser headphones check all the boxes for me. I dislike in-ear earbud-style headphones. They always make my ears itch. These Sennheisers are extremely comfortable, going over (not on) your entire ear. The earpads are soft, and the earcup opening is big enough that my large ears fir comfortably inside. My head is fairly large, and many headphone headbands don't offer enough adjustment to fit me properly. The headband on these headphones offers plenty of adjustment range and allow them to fit me perfectly. The headphones are pretty much made entirely of plastic, but it's a good quality and seems to be more than sturdy enough. The most important part is how do they sound? In my opinion, they sound great. Very balanced and even sound. The bass is smooth and extended, not boomy. The highs are also smooth and extended, not artificial, sizzly, or shrill. The noise cancellation works well, the headphones actually sound better with it enabled, which is not often the case with other headphones I have had. Controlling the headphone features and operation is easy. Instead of buttons to press, you control things with touches and gestures on the outside of the headphone cups. It's really slick and easy. There is also a smartphone app that lets you control everything plus allows you to enable and configure an equalizer to customize the sound. Finally, the headphones come with a nice hard-sided carry case that holds the headphones, charging cable, and has a pouch for the instructions in case you forget how to operate them. Overall these are great headphones that perform very well and have lots of nice touches that make them seem special.

The Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus Wireless Bluetooth Headphones offers great sound and also does well with noise cancellation. The ear pads fit well and seal the noise so that the person next to you on a flight can’t hear the movie or music. The battery lasts for around 50 hours, which is great. Set up via the app was not the easiest for me and I always have difficulty with the controls on the ear pads probably me rather than the product! The really great thing is the very nice carrying case. I have two other sets of headphone that didn’t come with this great case that holds the head set plus 2 cables. The right earcup also has a single physical control, which covers ‘power on/off’ and Bluetooth pairing. Otherwise, control is available either via the capacitive area of the right earcup or the exemplary ‘Smart Control’ app that’s free for iOS and Android. You can make phone calls with the headset & there is a microphone but the sound of your voice tends to sound far away to the person you are calling. Overall, these are really great headphones for listening to music or watching movies.

I decided to try these Accentum plus headphones because I wanted a better set to travel with for my in rear seat car entertainment system. These hit a price point that has the noise cancelation to help with road noise while being used, but not expensive enough to sweat leaving in the van under varying conditions. I try to bring them in when staying in town, but on trips I do try to care for them be taking then in at night where I'm staying or under the floor boards to take out of the direct heat. I've had much lower priced ones that I have been using, and they do well but the noise cancelation and tones are no where near these. I have several brands for my home and office that are more than this price point, and these feel and sound as good as many of the higher price point. I have worn these for several 2 hour stretched and the muffs do get a bit warm for my ears, get mildly sweat, but they don't hurt my ears or pinch in any way. The basic sound seal on these is quite good, people sitting next to me at Normal tones are mumbles even with music off. Music on and and going I don't hear much at all. This headset has touch controls on the right muff to active or stop, anc, skip forward, skip back, pause/play, answer calls ect… all are fairly responsive and no delay if it picked it up correctly. Occasionally a double tap will be read as single or triple as a double…it's likely just my speed that makes it mis-picked up. Doesn't happen often and I feel it's just user error. The customization feature of audio is very cool and let's you really pick which part of the spectrum of the equalizers you use. There are some good presets though, or you can further tweak one of the 5 bars on the equilizer also. The application was easy enough to download and set up. It paired quickly and it did updates quickly also. The changes I've done in mixing all seem to come through quickly. I also picked up the regular Accentum headphones with the regular buttons (no touch response) and these do have slightly better noise cancelation with this version if the algorithm they use here, and it's appreciable when I'm outside, but normally indoors where I use them in the house, the sound is very good from both. That is an advantage with the plus version, as well as a carrying/storage case that does not come with the standards. I have listend to all spectrums of music from metal to classical to spoken word/comedy and all are clear. Very balanced and it was fun to go through the presets and then compare it to my custom setting. The custom really gets te best of what I like across the pre set equilizers. I do reccomend these headphones for daily use, or as I have then for travel headphones for my rear seat entertainment. It really turns my back seat into a surround sound like theater on the small screen.

These new “ACCENTUM PLUS” cans are my introduction to Sennheiser’s Bluetooth headphones, I’m usually a fan of “plus” in my electronics… I am impressed with the lack of adornments or an effort to quirkify these phones, they are what they are, very understated, muted blacks and dark gray, all matte, the only shiny bits being the little “S” Sennheiser logos on the headband sides. These headphones do a good job of not drawing attention to themselves. Don’t drop them on a dark night. The flat, featureless sides struck me initially as cheap looking, but the more I think about it, what else can you do and keep the radar reflectivity down while still giving no obvious point of reference for finger placement while using the touch controls? The plastics all seem sturdy, built for durability - still very lightweight without creaks or cricks that make you think they’re going to break in a month. They have one button for power on the right earcup, but no other physical interface elements, all the other controls are touch activated on the right earcup or controlled via the very good app. The app does require you sign up for a Sennheiser account to use all of the features available. I still don’t understand why companies feel the need to sink claws into their users with no explanation as to WHY they are signing up for an account. How hard is it to make simple, big words that say WHY you are requiring me to allow you to know everything I do with my headphones and where I am all the time? For my phone to know all that is just fine, which would allow the Sound Zones and Personalization to work just as well, but now Sennheiser The Company has 24/7 location access as well as other data that I don’t think they are entitled to. For headphones. Beyond the crass user disrespect more in line with by the company, the app is fairly intuitive and simple to use, it’s missing a big feature, though. Let me turn off the ANC! Sound quality is completely subjective, of course. I have heard the praises of Sennheiser sound for as long as I can remember. I very much prefer to have headphones which I can listen to almost anything and not have my ears, intelligence, and overall value as a person questioned by the sound coming out of my cans. Straight out of the box, some of my test songs sounded wretched. Bass is smooth and goes waaaay deep, amazing kick drums, very tight, but giant flabby sub-bass is also rendered extremely well. I listen to a lot of female singers, often accompanied by piano, and this seems to be where good sounding phones and “others” get separated. Sadly, these Senns are a hot mess in many, many tracks I’ve tried, I even thought they were broken or faulty from shipping or something, but it’s so consistent, I think it’s just a part of the sound of these phones. High-mids get muddy and lose detail at any volume level, but it’s obviously worse the louder you have them turned up. Podcasters voices clipped sometimes in these phones where they did not in other phones. I was very disappointed in my normal test tracks from Sia, Tool, Beth Orton. I’ve picked songs that will hang out in the mids area a little since there is recording distortion that’s consistent in them and there are spots that bad headphones will not render. These cans fall right into my “bad sound” category right in that spot, while having amazing sound lower down. These phones are not appropriate for critical listening at all, but I don’t think Sennheiser had that in mind when they made them. Wireless Bluetooth headphones use lossy formats to transmit music from your audio source to the headphones, so that does affect the sound quality by a lot. Bluetooth over-ear headphones with ANC seem to all have this problem to some extent or another, they lose coherency in the upper mids with guitars and mezzo-soprano singers accompanied by piano while ANC is active. I don’t know if this is a processing issue, but I think it’s more a lack of power for music and controlling the diaphragms on the drivers. This whole genre going down to $50 up to the $300 ballpark are all basically the same cans with styling and tonal differences. They all have these ridiculous battery life numbers, and almost all of them sound bad when pushed. When a reviewer says these things sound good, it has to be in relation to direct competitors, because they are almost all underpowered, mediocre sounding, often extremely overpriced. The ACCENTUM PLUS ANC is very good, most of the isolation is done by the tight seal on the cushions and some obvious sound deadening in the earcups. When they are powered on, low frequency noise, like road or train noise is cut WAY down, it’s quite nice. The ANC is better in the lower frequencies than a few other similar pairs I have. This is a good commuter headset. One feature is missing, or I just can’t find it, and that is the ability to just turn off the ANC completely, but it seems the only adjustment for that is a slider from “Active” ANC to transparency mode in the app. I played the phones with a wired connection to a Sony stereo receiver playing tracks from CD, and the sound was quieter, but still clipping all over the place. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. These phones seem to respond very well to older recordings with actual dynamic range, the clipping is barely there, distortion is minimal, and these are a joy to listen to. The problem with this perk is that almost all digital music which we’re going to be streaming to these phones is mixed at max volume across the track and they are brutal on lots of headphones. The app is very simple and feature rich, with quick response when making adjustments. I do not like the requirement to have an account signed up for to use some of the features, there’s no reason Sennheiser should be involved in my listening after I’ve bought the headphones… I will say, however, that if you are not a critical listener and enjoy having quiet music on while doing other activities, these are comfy and quiet and do well for just cutting back on the outside world. These will serve you well, once again, if you’re bent on having that Sennheiser logo on the side. Overall, I’m disappointed at the sound quality, the ANC is good, comfort is very good, and the sound is unsatisfactory for headphones in this rarified price stratum. There are much better values out there, so if having a Sennheiser logo on your head is more important that what is going into your ears, by all means, get them. If you’re looking for sound quality and serious value for the money, I would pass on these. I expected to be impressed. No, I would not recommend these.

The Sennheiser Accentum plus wireless bluetooth headphone were developed in house by Sennheiser and you can tell once you start using them. Unfortunately many companies will just rebrand some generic headphones and use the marketing power of their brand to sell product. Sennheiser made the headphones feel premium with the soft touch materials and fold flat design. The headphones are lightweight and well padded making them easy to wear for long periods of time such as on flights or during your morning commute on the train. The headphones come with a carrying case, a USB c cable and a 3.5 mm headphone cable. One great feature of these headphones is the fast charging and long battery life. They feature 50 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation on. I have not drained the battery fully however I had well over 70% battery life on them after my 10hr flight to Europe. Even if you are able to fully drain the battery just 10 minutes of charging will provide you with 5 hours of use. The noise cancellation works very well as it drowned out the crying baby that was seated a few rows ahead of me on my flight. There is also a transparency mode which is great when you need to be aware of your surroundings. The headphones also feature touch controls which lets you control the music without touching your device. The headphones are also compatible with Siri and google assistant. The headphone do work fairly well for taking phones calls as most people could not tell I was out for a walk while I was on my last call for work. The headphones can also be paired with the Sennheiser smart app so that you can unlock many customizations. Overall Sennheiser has done a great job on these wireless bluetooth headphones. I finally have found a pair to replace my aging bluetooth headphones that have served me well over the years. I also appreciate the included 2 yr warranty just in case anything happens to them. I would definitely recommend these Bluetooth headphones with ANC.

These Sennheiser Accentum Plus wireless headphones give you a clue as to what the sound will be like when they boot up and connect, you hear a wonderful outer-space sound effect that immediately attracts your attention. I found these to be fairly comfortable, with ear cushions that are "over the ear" for those with smaller ears, but for some with really large ears you may have to cram them inside the cushions. Especially if you want to experience the best noise-cancelling I have ever experienced with headphones. They literally block out even a noisy TV. My ears did get a little sweaty after an hour or so, but I don't think that's unusual for over-the-ear phones. They paired easily to a PC and two phones, and it's nice to have an up/down volume level on the outside of the right earpiece/speaker--though it is a little "jumpy" in that you can raise the volume a bit suddenly. It takes a quick light touch. The biggest factor, of course, is the quality of the sound. Wow--such depth, ambience and lush texture to the sound. I've heard things in songs I played a hundred times that I've never heard before. The bass is deep and full but never overpowering. Of course, you can always use an equalizer app or tweak on your device itself to experiment. I used the default sound for both PC and Moto phones and was totally happy with it. These are wonderful headphones. Warning--you may never be happy with your earbugs again.

Okay... out with the skullcandy, and onto these... Absolutely fantastic. Very light weight for an over the ear headphone. The noise reduction on these (aka before you even turn them on), is really good. I was trying these out on a Southwest Airlines flight, and just putting them on knocked out a LOT of the cabin noise, engine noise, and passengers noise. Powering on... and it was almost all gone, very very good in a noisy environment. Now for the sound. I primarily used these to listen to video content via my iPad. Super easy to connect, showed up right away on the blue-tooth list, tap and connected. it is smart enough to trigger and prompt for the companion app to be installed (surprised though that the app was over 100mb). Got that up and was able to make some minor tweaks and adjustments, as well as check status. Charging super easy with the USB-C plug, and wire provided. Case is sleek and just big enough, not a lot of fluff... so gave me some room back in my backpack. Very very good set of headphones for the work traveler
