Connected to my older TV with ARC

I'm not an AV person or snob.. it works and sounds good. My TV was made at a weird time, it has ARC but was before eARC came out. So getting a soundbar to connect and stay connected is tricky and annoying. This took me a while to get connected and occasionally disconnects, but when I power off the TV and power it back on it reconnects without issue. Another issue I've found that I don't like, is now that it's connected with my TV and remote, I can't manually or with Sennheiser remote turn it off/on, or change the volume. This is problematic as I have an autistic child who likes the volume loud and will move the remote to weird areas of the house and then I feel like I'm losing my mind while the TV screams at me. I still suspect it may be an older TV issue than the sound bar issue (2020 Sony Bravia). I also don't feel the sound is as impactful as claimed to be... But again not an AV person who has figured out room acoustics or have additional speakers.

This soundbar, when paired with a great sub, is amazing. I have it connected to an SVS PB1000 Pro and I have been stunned at it's quality. My previous setup included a Denon receiver with Mirage speakers and this soundbar sounds better than that. Very clean and well balanced. Surround effects are the best I have ever heard on a soundbar. Even without rears you get a completely convincing sound stage all around you. Do yourself a favor and try some of the Dolby TrueHD Atmos demos that you can download and you will not believe all that sound is coming from a bar(with sub). I have been so impressed and highly recommend this product to anyone. App is also very easy to use. You won't be disappointed!

We all have different opinions when it comes to sound. Some want more highs or bass but this soundbar is very customizable with its downloaded app for whichever you prefer and I’m happy with my purchase. I think the subwoofer I got with it does help.

    Sennheiser Embeo Plus Soundbar

After buying the Sennheiser Embeo plus soundbar, I decided to wall mount this impressive soundbar. I first had to decide what mounting brackets to use. I chose Echogear brackets because they were adjustable for width and height. I recommend these brackets. I finally got the soundbar installed over the post holiday weekend. I am now at the stage of trying to get things programmed for sound. I thought this soundbar had calibration hardware. Calibration hardware must only be included in the Sennheiser Embeo Max. I now have to download software to program my sound to my phone via QR Codes. This is not my strength. I need a little time to through the directions. This unit comes with a nice remote! Based on preliminary testing this soundbar is outstanding. I have not yet made adjustments for dialog and preferred modes. The Embeo Plus soundbar looks great under my OLED 77” television! I am very glad I made the choices of Sennheiser Embeo Soundbar and Echogear Brackets.

Overall, a good unit. Crystal clear, good sub link for balance. Only issue is the hit-and-miss hdmi-arc functions upon start up…. One out of three times the Sennheiser will start up in ‘tv speakers used’ mode instead of ‘external speakers used’ mode….which means addition menus must be used to manually switch it over.

I was torn between the Sennheiser and Sonos Arc Ultra. Listened to both in the store and both sounded impressive but the demo was listening to different material with a different floor layout making it difficult to decide. Selected the Sennheiser AMBEO based on in store sound and reading various reviews. I also liked how I could connect the subwoofer from my prior setup with ease. Listening space is what I would consider an average size townhouse room and thus far we are quite pleased. Plenty of volume with clean sound. Haven't played just music yet, just shows and movies but really adds to the viewing experience. I was also happy to find an HDMI ARC cable was included in the box. Maybe standard for this type of purchase, but to note.

The product is great overall but it’s not perfect which is why I assigned 4 stars. When turning the volume up/down, there is not a display. Not through the television or on the soundbar itself so if you need that visual, you won’t get it. Be careful you download the right app when setting it up. There’s Smart Control and Smart Control Plus. If you download the wrong one you’ll spend too much time frustrated and thinking you just made a poor purchase like I did. Once I had the right app, process was too easy! Sound is great and paired it with the subwoofer. Television remote can control it without any special set up. Performing exactly as it should as is a nice addition to our home.

Usually would build out a full A/V system with amp and speakers, but the Florida condo just could g handle the size for that. The Sennshieser plus proved the best solution. Great depth in the Ambeo setting.

This is a darn good sound bar. I don't get the full effect of the Atmos but that is more because of my room and the position of the sound bar in the room than than the actual Ambeo. Given that, I still am pretty happy with the sound it produces for movies and even music, even its attempt at ATMOS is my room. I have found audio syncing issues when I plug an Apple TV or Roku plugged into the Ambeo's HDMI port and have my TV plugged into the Ambeo's eARC HDMI. I have much better success connecting all devices to my TV and then having the TV connect to the AMBEO through the TV's eARc HDMI output to Ambeo's eARC HDMI input. I don't think that that's necessarily distinctive to the AMBEO; It looks like it's an issue in general with soundbars?? The only drawback to connecting everything to my TV and then to the Ambeo is I can't get Atmos surround sound on my Apple TV. But, that's because I have an older LED TV that does not have ATMOS throughput through its eARC. A tremendous positive that is not clear in Best Buy's description of this product is that this model does have an analog subwoofer input. It makes this and its larger AMBEO counterpart the only ( I believe only) sound bars that offer third-party analog wired subwoofer connections. That was a big deal for me as I have a nice subwoofer I can connect it to.

For what i needed for my tv experience the sennheiser Ambeo plus knocks it out of the park. This sound bar checked all the boxes. Complemented with a sub this thing is the real deal Holyfield! Definitely not a sound system but the soundbar knows its job description and delivers! If you can swing it,swing it! BB open box made dreams come true.

Great soundbar! I picked it up because of the Sennheiser name and positive reviews. I definitely was not disappointed. I auditioned the Ambeo subs as well but decided to go with my own Rel T-9i sub instead. After downloading the Sennheiser app setup was a breeze. The app allows you to perform a room calibration and select various options to fit your sonic preferences. The sound bar sounds absolutely wonderful. The Ambeo does a highly credible job with Dolby Atmos and 360 degree sound effects. If you are an audiophile you love the tone, rhythm and timing of this bar. Dialogue is clear and intelligible and the app gives you the option to give dialogue added emphasis. I have the Sonos Arc with sub and rears and I’d be hard pressed to select one over the other. However, If you are trying to limit the number of boxes in your room you won’t lose out with the Sennheiser. One caveat I’ll make is I have only listened to the Ambeo in a small media room (20x16) setup. I have the Arc system in a family room so I know it can fill a larger space.

Honestly a great soundbar but I wish Sennheiser would release wireless rears to pair with it. You can have up to 4 senheiser subs with it, which is amazing, but no rears really pulls it out of the running when compared to Sonos.

This is a good value when under $1k. This was a massive upgrade over our 6.5yr old LG soundbar. Even without a dedicated sub it has a very rich neutral (doesn’t favor one range) sound. Base could be better but it is better than most. I plugged in our Polk sub and it made all the difference. I was hesitant to purchase their wireless version due to the complaints of disconnect. I just wanted it to work without hassle. Other connections (wireless, Bluetooth, etc) are flawless.

Amebo technology is insane. Sure Sonos but I get the more insane depth and surround sound with this single bar rather than needing extra speakers behind me. Try the demo if you go into the store you will be blown away. Also, if you have difficulty hearing voices when watching TV the voice enchancement feature is a game changer. Also, if your into Vinyl Records and using RCA cables for that warm, full, classic vinyl sound, it has connections for that which is unheard of for sound bars

Main reason for buying this, in addition to the obvious benefits of this bar itself (sleek, build quality, processing of many channels, I could go on) is that I wanted a bar that had a sub preout, which is hard to find today. I paired mine with a 12" REL sub and have been more than impressed with the theater and musical performance, without having to add physical rear speakers to the setup. Media room, maybe not. Living room, 100%.

Amazing depth of sound! We did use an optical cable to improve the quality even further. The speaker can be calibrated to your own room. I love that I can hear the conversations clearly as well. We also purchased the subwoofer for even better sound. Sennheiser did a great job. I hope they expand the system further. Our salesperson, Kaiden, went above and beyond to help us make our decision with solid information and no pressure. Excellent experience.
