These replaced a previous pair of sennheiser headphones and are just as good as the old ones. I use them for noise canceling when I’m mowing. They are incredible. Only downside is that pairing with iPhone is inconsistent and often requires going into settings.

I have owned several over-ear headphones over the years, but these Sennheiser HD 450BT offer a listening experience that cannot be replicated by any others that I have used. The frequency response and level of auditory detail that these headphones offer is astounding. In addition to the phenomenal sound quality, these headphones boast a fairly robust active noise cancelling system offering the user a listening experience isolated from nearly all outside sources of noise. My only gripe with the headphones, initially, was the fact that they are not extremely loud; however, I quickly realized that volume is not the focus of the product. Instead, the focus is squarely placed on providing the most accurate-to-recording listening experience possible. Taking a look at what is included in the box, the headphones come with a USB Type-C charging cable, a white aux cable for when an analog listening experience is preferable, as well as a compact, non-rigid travel case containing space to carry the headphones and aforementioned cables. Upon unpacking the headphones, I had them connected to my phone via Bluetooth in about two minutes. A brief scan of the quick-start guide shed some light on the functionality of the numerous unlabeled buttons on the headphones. After about ten minutes of fiddling with all the controls (i.e. volume, media control, noise cancelling toggle, voice assistant, and power), I was comfortable operating them without giving them much thought. While the functionality that the mechanics of the product have to offer is certainly convenient, the most impressive aspect of the headphones is easily the quality of sound that they offer. As previously stated, I have never used headphones that have offered the intimate level of detail that these bring to the table. With active noise cancelling enabled, these headphones offer near-total isolation from the outside world and provide complete immersion in the piece of music you’re listening to. While the headphones are a tad lower in volume while active noise cancelling is enabled, the trade off is well worth the reward in the listening experience for doing so. That being said, even without active noise cancelling enabled, the plush and comfortable leather ear cups provide a good bit of noise isolation on their own and the headphones do offer a bit more volume and punch when this functionality is deactivated. I have only listened to music with them so far, but I would imagine the listening experience for movies, podcasts, and audio books would be equally impressive. However, if you are in the market for wireless headphones you could use for gaming, look elsewhere. As I have stated, the headphones do not offer an incredibly loud sound and, as a result, would probably not offer what most gamers are looking for in the headphones that they use. Additionally, the Bluetooth connectivity of these headphones is impressive to say the least. I wanted to test their range and connection strength, so I put on the headphones, set my phone down on one end of the house, and began walking to the other. To my surprise, even on the other end of the house (60-70 feet away) they still functioned as if I was standing directly next to my phone. This would make them perfect for doing house chores such as vacuuming without having to worry about getting too far away from your phone. Overall, I believe that these Sennheisers offer a listening experience as close to studio sound as one can get with wireless headphones. While they certainly are not the loudest headphones I have ever used, they are absolutely the most pleasant and immersive. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who strives to get the most accurate listening experience out of their headphones.

I haven’t used these yet as I bought them as a Christmas gift for my son. I will have more personal comments after Christmas. I can however share that I sent these specs and brand to my IT department and without hesitation they told me to buy. This brand has been around for some time now and is a very reputable brand.

I didn't plan on buying higher end headphones, but I'm glad i did. The active noise cancelling helps cut out noisy furnace or road noise. Could use some more padding on the headband, but I'll get used to it. Great price for Black Friday.

Decent headphones - clear highs, full bass and adequate noise cancelling

I can't recommend the Sennheiser - HD 458BT. The sound quality on both Bluetooth and through analog via a DAC is terrible. The drivers distort and can't handle bass. Listening to Podcasts sounded "tiny" and would sometimes give feedback. They will be going back to the store. Go Sony if you want a good set of headphones.

The headset is nice. The app Smart Control that works with the headphones is awesome.

I got these on a DOTD. Good buy for the price. Lacks volume. Lacks identification of buttons. Theres like 7 buttons on one side, not a single one of them has a marking of what it is. At least volume and power should be marked. Id probably still buy them.

Sennheiser has a reputation for quality sound and these headphones do not disappoint! The 450BTs are solidly built and come with everything you need in the box. They also offer good battery life - I have yet to have them go dead on me even after a couple of days of steady use. I really appreciate the USB C power connection as almost everything I have now uses that style of supply. The app loaded and worked fine the first time around. The ability to fine tune via the equalizer function is very good although I found the "normal" setting sounded great! These headphones won't blow you away with exaggerated bass but I actually preferred their more neutral sound. The headband is comfortable and can be easily adjusted. Sennheiser needs to make a few improvements to really make these a winner. The ear cup openings are on the smallish side. They tend to crowd my ears and thus can get uncomfortably warm and snug if I wear them too long. All of the controls are mounted on the bottom of the right ear and are quite small. You will definitely want to download the Users Manual from the website as the included quick-start guide is really not sufficient to even get you started. There is also occasionally a very low level hiss when the ANC is engaged. The ANC itself is alright but not reference quality. Finally, there can be a distinct delay between button presses and the actual function occurring. On certain content I have also encountered some lip sync issues but that tended to disappear if I turned off the equalizing functions. Overall, these headphones offer quality sound with a long battery life. Make sure you can try them out to decide if their fit will be comfortable for you before you buy.

My 13 year old son found the ear holes to be too small. He also thought the sounds was not as clear when the wire was used. They hooked up easily to blue tooth and the sound was good but not as noise canceling as one would expect because of the small ear holes.

Great quality. My first pair of headphones that weren’t a skull candy or a Sony. And I’d say I’m thoroughly impressed. Nice crisp sound. And the noise cancellation is excellent. To the untrained ear they sound amazing.
