Good starter headphones for aspiring audiophile

These sounds really good and are comfortable but they are definitely a budget pair of high end headphones and sound really good for the price point but I prefer the sound of my Solo Beats. I have some over the ear Bose headphones that sound similar but with less bass.

Get the cable pushed in properly, they sound great

I bought these in July 2022 and haven't used them except rarely and not for long each time. The sound quality wasn't good at all. It seemed dry, dull, flat, lifeless compared to the other headphones I have. I have seen YouTube reviews of headphones claiming the HD 450BT to have the best sound quality among headphones in their price range. And this left me confused. One reviewer compared these to the Edifier W820NB putting them at number 1 with the Edifier at number 2. I have the Edifier W820NB and they sound amazing. Their sound if dynamic, clean, crisp, clear and beautiful. So how is it possible that these Sennheiser could sound better than the Edifier? Then the reviewer talked about the audio cable for these and mentioned it required a twist to lock them into the headphone port. So I wondered if it was possible I did not have the cable properly seated in the headphones. Dusting off my rarely used Sennheiser HD 458BT, I inserted the 2.5mm jack of the audio cable into the headphone port and gave it a twist. That didn't feel right until I pushed the jack in a little harder and was rewarded with a slight click as it went in a little bit more...like it had seated properly. I guess that was the problem with the sound quality because they now sound much better. All this time I was thinking people are crazy for saying the SQ was excellent with these Sennheisers. Turns out I was using them improperly.

The HD 458BTs aren't just wireless headphones, they're a sonic escape pod. Crisp highs, punchy bass, and that glorious ANC silencing the world. Battery lasts for days, fit feels like a hug, and Bluetooth never hiccups. Music, movies, audiobooks? All amplified bliss. Price? A steal for audio heaven. Buy these, lose yourself.

Haven’t had a pair of over-ear headphones in so long and I wanted something affordable enough to block myself from the world. My last pair about a decade ago was Sennheiser so I narrowed my line of search with this brand. I’ve had it for a month and the most impressive thing so far is the battery life. I’ve used it almost every day and I have yet to charge it. Sound quality is good but I’m no audiophile. The noice cancellation is swell and it’s more than enough to get the job done for me. Build quality is sturdy. Knocked it down a star because it hurts my ears after an hour or so and the six cord that connects it to my computer is flimsy and incredibly hard to pull off the headphones. It’s not unbearable, but it’s enough to notice. For $100, you can’t beat that if you were looking for something simple enough to get the job done. Sound quality is better than my AirPods to me.

The size these are you'd think the bluetooth sound would be louder since it has room for a louder amp (bluetooth has its own amplification) but plugged in with the included cable sound really good. If you have large ears theyre not as big as they look. They have a small oval ear shape but if you look for larger ear pieces you can attach them for larger ears. Look for Sennheiser HD280 ear foams and youll be happy PLUS it cuts down on the boomy bass if thats not your thing. Noise isolation IS good with stock ear foam but larger ear foams lose a little but still fairly decent compared to other closed back headphones. If you get these on sale for about 100 bucks theyre great but just good at 150. Didnt realize id like the red but it is more a crimson red (think Alabama red).

Really good headphones. The sound quality is good. The loss are adequate as are the highs. It provides what’s needed better than other headphones on its price range. The comfort level is good, not a Bose comfort headphone but comfortable. It will be satisfactory for listening to music on a plane or in the car on a road trip or as you vacuum the house. While it isn’t the audiophile headphone, it gets the job done.

The sound is great, and headphones are comfortable despite what most are saying. As long as you have hair. Cannot account for those without. Only 4 stars though because the sound bottoms out before the volume on my device does. Feels like you’re being cheated out of volume, like they could be louder when turned up all the way. I have tested this on 2 pairs and the issue is consistent. Perhaps they were designed this way.

pros Range is great connection is fast battery last long cons 1.volume on this is about the same as a 70 dollar "off brand" from amazon. The bass is actually less than that. 2.ears get warm faster than other brands 3.the noise canceling works some, not anything like WOW!. Its expected not to be the best at this price range, but you have so many other budget friendly ones that do the same. conclusion At the black Friday deal of 50% off ill keep it as a spare to lend a friend for a plane ride, but for full price of $200 never. You are better off to wait for Best Buy to put a deal on the Bose. That way you wont be disappointed.

    Best sub-premium headphones

Was considering these and the newer Sony model for the same price, but when these were discounted it was a no-brainer. Overall excellent sound for highs and bass, a pretty neutral sound signature so if you want heavy bass there's a couple Sony models that would be better. I haven't listened to the high-end Sony or Bose models that have been reviewed as the best in category, but for a more moderate price the HD450BT's are a much better value I think. Probably my only complaint is that the controls have a slight learning curve, but it only took me a few sessions to commit them to memory.

This is a decent headset at a good price if you are realistic about what you need them to do. Listen to music and make calls on your phone only? Fantastic! There are, however, a few things you should know up front. This is a good headset for listening to music or talking on the phone as long as it won't be an extended session. It isn't great for games on PC and doesn't work with the Xbox Series X. The dual connect feature has only caused the headset to disconnect from my PC every 30 seconds or so. As there is no way to control the connection from the headset, I have to turn off BT on my phone. If you aren't listening to lossless music, not much difference in quality between these and my Logitech headset. These are ON EAR, not over ear phones. I have small ears that fit inside the cups, but not comfortably for more than an hour tops. The real problem is that the noise cancelling is terrible. I still hear my keyboard. I still hear my housemate coughing. The active noise cancellation just can't handle short sharp sounds. On the upside, I can't hear my PC fan when gaming. On the downside, I can still hear the traffic outside. Again, the sound quality is great if you are playing music and the noise cancelling problems aren't as noticeable. If you, like me, suffer from sensory overstimulation and need the quiet, pass on these.

When I read other reviews, I was worried that these wouldn't fit me. Thankfully, they are about as conforming to the ears as headphones can get, without it being uncomfortable. If you have large ears or a large head I can definitely see how these wouldn't work. As a result of the snug fit, the noise-canceling works great and I can go into the app to adjust the sound profile to the way I like it. The headphones sound bright so that was easily changed. There are a lot of buttons on the right earmuff so it takes a bit to get used to. Also, I would never pay full price for these. Other than that, these sound and work great.

So far I am happy with the headphones. The other reviews are spot on as to the size of the ear cups, they are definitely on the smaller side. My ears just barely fit. I may not have chosen them if I had tried them on at the store, but they work, and they are not too small to where they are uncomfortable. They are actually quite comfortable as long as they fit your ears. Sound elimination is adequate for the price.

Comfortable and decent sound, but were a little weird in the 20-30% volume range. No idea why. I didn't like that they beep when changing the volume. The mic does not work when using them wired. One of the product images shows a 4-pole 2.5-mm plug, which is the end that goes into the headset. The other end of the cord is a 3-pole 3.5-mm plug. I also didn't like that transparency mode was on while using teleconference software even while I was muted. Decided to return them.

Compared to a Bose classic…pretty darn good

For the past two years I’ve enjoyed the classic Bose QuietComfort 25 wired phones I got on eBay for $85. But I was weary of forgetting to turn them off (kills your AAA battery overnight) and I wanted Bluetooth. The Bose option was too pricey, so I decided to try these. The lowdown: Bose wins easily on comfort as they are super comfy where these are just average. (Good for an hour or two but Bose good for all day.) These Senns have more passive noise isolation, but the Bose have better ANC, so in the end it’s a wash. As for sound quality, rather a wash here as well. Both are very good but without the transparent detail of, for example, Grado open air phones in this price range. All in all a very good deal for under $120 sale price.

Design and build quality were good in my opinion. They dont clamp my ears like I've seen other people say, but maybe I have small ears. ANC is definitely not its best feature, as it doesn't make a huge difference that I can tell, but its nice and passive, which works for me. Also, the volume never really goes that high, and the balance is quite flat, but those were both pluses for me; it may be different for you. Good quality if you mix audio and need a true balance, as well as I am one to look our for my ear health. Definitely buy on sale.

The sound quality and ear fit are good. And charge lasts for greater than 15 hours(never tested fully). The feature it doesn't have is when we are not using it we need to turn it off or else battery drains. Battery percentage drops at inconsistent rate.

Excellent range of both sound and Bluetooth connection. The active noise cancelling works quite well, and really improves your perception of the highs and lows in your music. The battery life is absolutely wild at 30 hours, which is not an exaggeration, and they feel nice to hold and wear even while wearing glasses. I have and will continue to suggest this specific item to friends and family.
