GREAT sounding headphones, "ok" ANC.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st, the ANC isn't going to compete with the big boys (Sony and Bose). But for using this around an office, in an apartment or anyplace where jet or diesel engines isn't your issue, the ANC will do the trick! And the sound and comfort are amazing! Especially with a basic equalizer that sets and stays in the headphones no matter what device you connect to! I highly recommend!

Good alternative to Bose and Sony NC headphones
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will straight out say this. If you are looking for a great ANC functionality over the sound quality, go with bose or sony route. Momentum 2 ain't bad, but not that good at ANC. If you are looking for a great sound quality in headphones with ANC functionality that does its job at least, then go for Sennheiser. No doubt. As a long time user of Sony's 1000x revisions, Momentum 2 has richer sound in all aspects than sony's. The sound stage is better. There were times I have noticed better treble and bass that the same songs I listened on wh1000xm3 felt like whole new mixes were done on them through Momentum 2. Build quality is better than Sony, no doubt. I mean... I already had an experience of head band cracking on mdr1000x and seeing that there were no change in material choice on sony, I expect the wh1000xm3 will face the same doom along the way. Especially the way you put the headphone into the protective case, I felt unsafe everytime I had to fold the headphone. But with Momentum, i don't have same worry as headband is made with metal and hinge too. Kind of bummed out with Sennheiser's protective case is just made of cloths, but headphone itself look durable enough. Other side function differences are kinda irrelevant as it is just the preference of touch interface vs physical buttons.

Cans review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound great. Lots of detail and a heavy bottom end. They just don't get super loud which you might sometimes want. They stream nicely from your phone and are comfortable to wear. Definitely a buy.

Best $300 Headphones for Sound Quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound Quality: Impressive. Great sound clarity - strong bass, good mids, clear highs once adjusted on the Sennheiser app. SO much better than the sound of Sony's wh1000xm3. Equalizer: While simple, the adjustments make a difference. Comfort: The earcuffs are very comfortable and the leather feels good against the skin. The clamp force is pretty good for big heads, not as light as the Sony wh1000xm3's, but not as tight as the PX7's which were very uncomfortable. Noise Cancellation: The weakest point of the headphones. The noise cancellation is just okay. Bluetooth: The connection is good, but the range of signal isn't as good as the Sony's for example. The case is a bit disappointing since it's a soft case instead of a hard case. Ultimately, these are the best $300 range headphones when it comes to sound quality. The battery life, bluetooth range, and storage case could be improved.

A solid product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a great product in so many ways with a few drawbacks as someone who owns the Sony XM3000 The sanitizers have clearly better sound better materials and better passive noise canceling however if you plan on wearing a headphones for a long period of time like I do you begin regretting your decision because with better passive noise canceling means more padding which means more heat so they get hot on your head and they’re heavier so if you wear them for a long time you start feeling that, but if you wish to wear a pair of headphones for less than three hours I would strongly suggest these they look better than the Sony‘s and they have better sound quality so it’s a little dichotomy.

Very Good For the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good sound quality, and the bass is very accurate. Noise canceling on paper may not be quite as good as Sony's, but it is still enough to deafen most of the sound in a busy cafeteria without annoying me, and it is probably enough for most people. It has a sturdy construction, the metal hinges feel strong and durable. The battery life is not as large as the competition, but 17 hours was fine for me, only had to charge once or twice a week. When I bought these they were $250 on sale, probably because the new momentum 4 headphones were just coming out. If you are looking for the best value for your money buy these if they are still on sale. They are on par with the premium $400 headphones from sony, bose, and sennheiser for almost half the price.

Great buy if you can afford them
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this headphones four stars because the only thing I didn't like when wearing the headphones were the sensor when you move lay your head on something they will pause the music. Bass good Battery life good if you're not using fine tuning Quality of headphones good Open box presentation good Comes with carrying case and charger Make sure you download load both apps Battery can last all day for you don't have the volume over 50% Takes hours to charge when be low 20% If you have the app you can track them and it makes a beeping sound I didn't buy anything like insurance or warranty

Great headphones. Problem with smart pause feature
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had these headphones about 2 months and here is my thoughts Sound: They sound really great. Its got really good out of box sound without any equilizer adjustments. With app you can customize your sound for you. I like being able to hear a nice clear base and these do the trick nicely Style: I absolutely love the retro look/feel and having buttons instead of touch controls. I can't deny that was a big deciding factor for me. Noise cancelling : Good but not great. Definitely not to the level of my boise 700s. I can say without audio playing it seems to cancel out about 75% maybe 80% of background noise. I have a air purifier in a small room and without audio I can still faintly hear the fan running. With music and sound playing you shouldn't have an issue. Price: I got these just under 200$ I would say they are worth a sale price but I def wouldn't get them at full price. Battery life: For the price I was expecting a longer battery life but 17hrs isn't horrible. But the 3 hour charge time can't be a tad annoying. Bluetooth: As to date I've had no issue with connection. Its got a decent range and no issue with random dropping. I can even have it connected to multiple devices and ping pong between them. Features: These headphones come with a smart pause/play feature. If you turn your head, move your right earphone or set the headphones down they will auto pause. This is the feature that has caused issues. It would pause from slight movements like laughing or glancing down or for what seems to be no reason. Advice: Set your headphones down for 5-10seconds before putting this on your head This recalibrates the motion sensors. Also download the sennheiser app. It has a lot of useful settings. There are different noise cancelling settings. Equilizer and sound adjustment based on sound test. It also lets you turn off certain features like the smart pause

Pretty good headphones when on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these headphones to replace my Sony XM4’s. I loved the Sony’s but since they went kaput after only a year, I didn’t was totally turned off on the brand. This led to an extensive search and I finally settled on the Momentum’s…when they went on sale. After a month of frequent use, I can honestly say that I really like them. But I would’ve passed if they were only available for full retail. The Momentum’s do sound really good but they’re not miles ahead of the competition. Particularly at the full price. Audio snobs may say different but, to me, they’re just a little better. Noticeable but not mind blowing. The noise cancellation isn’t nearly as good as Sony’s or Bose but this shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’ve done your research and read multiple reviews. They’re pretty good but a noticeable step down from those. It does a pretty good job and if you’re listening to music/movies with noise canceling on, you’ll feel pretty isolated. Also, I can confirm that audio sounds excellent with noise canceling on. Better than with it off. I also love that you can connect to 2 devices and play sound from both devices simultaneously. Not sure, how much I’ll use that but it’s a cool feature. The EQ is cool and after playing around with it, I’ve created some nice modes for different genres. SoundCheck is a great place to start and you can play around with the EQ after that. The only things I really dislike are the auto off feature, the max loudness and battery life. The auto-pause often stops audio when I don’t want it to…like if I lean/move my head towards my shoulders, it’ll pause. Like almost all the time. I didn’t have this issue with my previous set of cans so it was a bit more annoying. I ended up just turning it off. I think it’s due to where the sensors are located. The max volume isn’t as loud as my previous headphones which sucks when I really want to jam out. It’s not a huge difference but noticeable. Battery life definitely is below most of the competition but I never have to recharge throughout the day. Overall, I like the Momentum’s and I’m happy with the purchase. But only for the sale price. If I had to pay full retail, I would’ve definitely considered other options.

Not Bad
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These sound great. They look great. They are however a little uncomfortable. The clamp force is a little too much. The noise canceling leaves a bit to be desired. They don't really stay in place, leaving you having to constantly adjust them. Battery could be better. Their connectivity to all my devices is really great. I actually like that you have to fold them to turn them off. Some people might not.

great build, great sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried Bose, Senneiser, Sony and B&O. Sennheiser has great sound and poor noise canceling. Their build quality is first rate. To me the B&O sound better, the Sony sounds better and both have outstanding NC. The momentums are good headphones, just not the best in class and are the most expensive. I have 3 year old momentums that sound just as good as the new ones. Kept the Sony because the were equal to or better than the others in all measures and were on sale for $279.00.

A Standout in a Competitive Marketplace
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, can connect to 2 devices at once. Great looking. Got a great Black Friday deal on them. The case is soft sided (nearly all the other ones in this price range are hard). Have these and the Bower and Wilkins Px7's and I would say that sound wise, they are comparable. With the Px7's able to get louder. Comfort wise, these Momentum 3's have bigger and more comfortable earcups. Battery life is short. If you buy them, I don't think you would be disappointed. But it's a competitive market in this class and there are a lot of great options.

Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headphone. I mostly use these to game and they’re super comfortable and can use them all day. I switched from the bose quiet comfort 700s. The noise cancelling is great as well as the shear clarity coupled with power. These headphones allow me to wear my beanie, mask, and glasses throughout the duration of a flight. The only complaint I have is that the headphone hardware has no off switch when they’re open so using just the wire, you’ll get the headphone assistant talking to you until the battery dies. It would be nice to be able to turn it off and keep it around 50% when not used.

Great sound.... but
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So if you were buying a product for nothing other than great sound, this is absolutely great to buy. Sennheiser has an extremely well documented history of delivering sound quality, and this product continues on that history. The sound is clear crisp deep and brilliant. So, if you are buying a product for nothing other than great sound, this is absolutely want good buy. Sennheiser has an extremely excellent history of delivering sound quality, and this product continues on that history. The sound quality is clear crisp deep and brilliant. If this review was based on sound alone. They would get five stars with ease. However, there are some problems with this headphone. The ANC is average at best. If you are a frequent traveler, then you have already heard about the Sony‘s. So if you fly a lot, or are somebody that rides a subway a train or are as a passenger in the car frequently, you know what to buy already. However, please be realistic when you purchase your headphones, because headphones are made to sound great. If you are buying them for ANC, and you are in situations where the ANC is more important than the sound, then it’s Sony. If sound is the highest priority, then you need to consider the Sennheiser again. Don’t get me wrong, the Sony has great sound. But the Sennheiser has really great sound. If you picked up the Sony, you would be very happy if you picked up the Sennheiser you would be really happy it’s only when you play them side-by-side AND back to back trying to determine which one is better, that you realize the Sennheiser has a higher quality. I’ll be honest, they are close. But if you’re looking for the one that is better, it is the Sennheiser. The sennheiser get one star removed for its lackluster battery. It states 15-17 hours, but I did not receive 15 hours on a brand new unit. It was closer to 13. However, they state 15 to 17 hours with a 50% volume. I don’t know of anybody that listens at 50% volume. I typically listen to these at 70 or 80%. That will decrease the battery life. I took another star off because of a design flaw on the hinges. When opening the left hinge, I pinched the skin between my finger and thumb. It was fairly painful. The Sennheiser’s have an excellent build quality. However, that means that these hinges are metal. And a metal hinge will bite. If that possibility is something that you can live with, the possibility of getting a pinch, then you can consider these four stars instead of five. There is one feature I do like about these, you can use the USB-C charging port as a digital input. That means if you have a music player (or computer or DAC/amp) with the USB-C out, you can use that USB-C into your headphones for sound. This Good feature is unfortunately offset by Sennheiser using a proprietary 2.5 mm input jack for its aux input (they do include a cable). I’m not sure why they would do this, but they did. The input jack onto the headphones sits a little strange. You press it in and then have to give it a twist. There’s no Click to let you know that the are inserted properly. You just have to press and then twist hoping that you get it set. However, once it’s in there, it’s in there! To the point where it may be a little bit difficult to get it back out. There’s no real tactile response to let you know when you have unscrewed it properly either. If you are never going to use these wired, this doesn’t matter. I hope my review was somewhat helpful. My main comparison was between these and the Sony’s. I spent probably 6 to 8 hours listening to each headphone. I do like the look of the Sony a little bit better, but the build quality on the Sennheiser is better.
