Worth the Money, with a few Words of Caution

It will reach top speeds of 28 mph on slightly declining level ground with moderate effort. With an aggressive start in Sport mode it will hit 20 to 23 mph within 3 to 5 seconds. In other words, it is fast. The bike’s scale is about twenty percent greater than a standard bike in terms of height and length. It has road presence, but discreet styling that does not draw attention. It is small enough to be transported on subways and trains. When handled by the rear down tube and right above the fork stem, the bike’s 60lb girth is easier to carry. The front and rear racks are excellent at taking blows to preserve the rigid frame’s finish. The lower center of gravity of the e-motor provides great stability, but the bike does not feel sporty. If Sportiness is what you’re after, l highly suggest looking at the Serial One’s Switch/Mountain. It has front shocks to reduce road impact harshness, and an actual gear selector allowing the rider to change gears on a whim. The Rush/City is fast, practical, and well built, but potholes are sometimes felt with surprising harshness through the handle bars or seat. The absence of a front fork suspension and the short rear down tube mean that some road irregularities resonate from the frame to the rider’s arms and torso. The benefit of this is the upright riding position keeps your line of sight on traffic and the harsh road impacts force the rider to grow intimately aware of the riding surface. The Rush City has a rear Enviolo CVT hub, but as a word of caution, it takes time dialing it in to your preferred settings for RPM and cadence. There ‘s also a slight delay before easily noticing detectable amounts of electric assist on the first few pedal rotations. This wait often occurs at the very beginning of a ride and somewhat subsides once it’s ridden for a minute or two. The hesitation can be reduced by making an aggressive start when pedaling in ECO and Touring mode. It is a almost a non issue when in Sport mode where the e-assist is rated at 75%. Enviolo offers an optional gear controller for the CVT transmission which can be added to the Rush/City. I recommend using it to see if it allows for more aggressive riding styles rather than trying to overpower the CVT transmission by increasing the amount of force exerted on the pedals. This transmission cannot be overpowered, either wait a few seconds for it to adjust to your ridding style or resort to changing the cadence/rpm setting and rider mode. The battery lasts for 35 miles riding aggressively in Sport mode while switching to Touring mode when possible. This is at an average speed of 15 mph. If you utilize the rocker switch aggressively for changing rider modes from ECO to TOURING and SPORT, the riding range increases significantly.
This is a very nice looking e-bike with some discreet touches of refinement. While it is easy to use, a lack of riding instructions might create a steeper learning curve for accessing its maximum capabilities. The bike is best used as a moped that can be adeptly ridden by switching to street and sidewalk surfaces during a commute. A few upgrades, such as a suspension seat, front fork suspension and an extra battery, can help the Rush/City become a more comfortable short distance commuter or a long distance cruiser.

At first I was hesitant about buying this bike because of the lack of throttle. However, with the automatic shifting it is an amazing bike worth every penny! I don't even miss the throttle because peddling is so much fun.

I paid nearly twice as much for this last year. I'm completely satisfied with the bike. It flies down the road with very little effort even in it's lowest assist mode. I ride it a lot with no assist. The continuosly variable transmission (CVT) is a delight. No matter what the conditions, encline or stiff head wind, the CVT handles it and I just pedal at a steady cadence. I haven't taken it on a really long ride yet, but 15 miles barely put's a dent in the battery. The racks and fenders are heavy duty and perfect for riding around town and carrying small loads. Having the all the lights and wiring inside the tubing is a good feature from a maintenance point of view as well as aesthetics. I've never ridden on fat tires before, it's a very comfortable ride, and the hydraulic brakes are needed.

Really good bike, well built and feel stable even at high speeds. It has amazing range. Would highly recommend. It makes riding a bike fun again. Only complaint is the seat is not too comfortable but also isn't the worst.

This is a nce bike although not cheap. You pay a bit more for the HD brand but you also get a lot of really nice quality of life features like the aynthetic chain that makes ridng whisper quiet and tve low center if gravity with the battwry placement. If you have the extra funds, this is a solid bike.
