For a very long time i have been looking for a remote that is compact and easy to use and i can definitely say that the sevenhugs smart remote U ticks those requirements. I am a gadget guy and defenitely try everything that is the latest and greatest. I have been using logitech remotes for somany years and i accidentally came across this remote at a bestbuy store and i am extremely happy with my purchase. My initially thoughts before buying this remote was to give it a try and return it if i was not happy but after i started using it, i was so happy that i purchased this remote.
The setup was a breeze with the mobile app. The touch screen and the key pad work as expected. No hassles. The overall build quality feels good.
The only downside to this remote is the battery life. The first few time i left the remote switched on always and the battery lasted me a little over one day. But now i shut down the remote after every use and the battery lasts me close to 3 or 4 days which is better. Charging this remote doesn't take much time though. I wish the battery lasted more.
I feel sevenhugs must do more to market this product since its a really good product. As a gadget person i never knew about this product until i saw it on Bestbuy's display. Overall very happy with my purchase and will defenitely recommend this to anyone.

Purchased this remote with high hopes. It connected to WiFi right away but it took 20 times for it to update. can’t use it until it does update. Once I got it to update it turned on fine. Was able to start connecting components, TV, sound bar, fire stick, Apple TV, all great. Then XBox nope would not connect to it.
The other issue I had it woulddisconnect a lot and not function for some reason.
I also think this remote is just to small for large hands. Kept pressing and it would do what I didn’t want.
I decided to return just to much frustration. Hope listen to people and start making this remote a little better. Definitely needs to be larger.

Seems like you had some issues with updating which is indeed not normal but quite a known bug, we are working on getting this fixed to make sure it stops happening, with regards to your Xbox and the other disconnects, we would have loved to be able to troubleshoot these issues for you as they definitely should not be occuring.
We hope that in the future you would consider giving Smart Remote another chance as we have so much more in store to come.

Overall I do have a really good experience with my U remote. I understand why some people could see some cons though but for what I was expecting and my own use it’s really worth it!
Pros:
- Packaging looks super premium, great first impression
- the remote feels good in hands
- the interface is really easy to use for everyone in my home
- works even better than my Apple TV remote
- software updates are pretty frequent and add new features, can’t wait to see what’s next!
- all my IR devices were available so setup was pretty easy for me (TV, blu-ray player, AV Receiver, Soundbar).
- love the IFTTT integration!
- customization is super powerful
- Love the UI to control my Philips Hue
- Forum is super helpful
- Scenes are a must for a universal remote and they made it pretty easy to setup
To improve:
- I agree the remote could be bigger
- the base connector is a bit hard to use at first but got used to it
- the battery life could be improved but is manageable already

Good alternative to logitech. It gives you the ability to add devices from your phone and customize keypad for each device that you have on it. My only con would be that you have to make sure that you put it on the charger because after so much time you’re gonna find yourself trying to turn off and on the tv or Other device. It won’t be ready and charged and you’re going to have to have your other remotes laying around

I’ve been using a Logitech Harmony Elite remote for my living room tv system for quite some time. Lately I’ve been having sync and command delay issues that syncing isn’t really fixing. So, I was excited to try out the Sevenhugs remote thanks to its hype about how easy to set up and it’s so-called expansive device coverage.
Set up started off pretty easy UNTIL it was time to add devices. It turned out the easiest/least painful way was to manually add each device model #...it had trouble finding my devices and it doesn’t even have my Onkyo receiver in their database...Onkyo’s flagship TX-RZ3100! Really? When I started the setup, With the Onkyo, several Set up functions worked fine but then it hit a wall. It’s just not in the database and there’s no direction/button that allows remote “teaching”. You have to dig deeply into the “help section” and the process is very complicated.
Another issue: The iPhone app kept disconnecting from the smart remote. Ridiculous. I had to reset 3 times. Very frustrating and painful.
Harmony gives you a touch screen but also physical buttons and I Now realize that I can’t stand just a touch screen like Sevenhugs. Logitech had buttons, all my devices in their database and offered way more features.
Maybe Sevenhugs’ next attempt at a new remote will fix some of these software and UX issues, but this remote is not showtime ready. So sorry Logitech, I thought the grass was greener but I was wrong.

I'm impressed with the Sevenhugs (funny name) Smart Remote. It has allowed me to program all the commands I need for all my devices, which include a Samsung tv, Yamaha receiver, Comcast cable box, Apple TV4, Oppo Blu-Ray player and even a several-year-old HD FM tuner.
While Sevenhugs says the remote has the ability to use IR, Wifi and Bluetooth to control devices, it doesn't seems more limited with Wifi and Bluetooth. Using Bluetooth it can only control my Samsung TV and my Apple TV. Leaving IR for my receiver and BluRay even though both have Wifi apps. And, of course Comcast is the weakest link with only IR capability.
My wish is to be able to use wifi and/or Bluetooth to control everything rather than having to keep my remote in visual contact, so to speak, with the devices.
The Sevenhugs Smart Remote can learn IR commands from any other remote. But, what I like best is I can control the layout of the commands for the variety of devices. That gives me my own (really) personal remote control device.

Very simple device setup using the Android companion app. Easily search by model number or just learn from an existing remote. Set up devices by room within Scenes and have a simple remote automatically compiled just for those devices OR easily arrange a totally custom remote (BETA) just for the the room you're in.
Battery life is o.k. at best, perhaps two days, but charging is easy with the supplied dock or any USB C cable although the port has some play and the device tends to sit slightly askew on its base - which is pretty annoying for a $200 remote.
The concept is nice however integration for smart products is severely limited and it's nowhere near replacing Google Home for functionality. It's nice to put the remotes away but swiping through screen often leads to accidental "touches" with unwanted results and I find myself reaching for my normal remote all too often.
All in all, between the battery life, lack of fuller smart integration, and somewhat touchy user interface - I will not be keeping this remote. Lovely concept and I hope to see better things from this brand in the future.

Remote looks great, but there are some downsides. If you have an older TV this is not for you. Also software freezes, loses Wi-Fi, cannot reconnect to certain Bluetooth devices leaving you go back to your old Remote.I have a problem with this considering I just paid $200. For this all in one remote.
Customer service phone support is nonexistent. Can only ask questions via email at a very slow pace. things I do love, is the control of the hue lights,And ability to change colors and dimness with a simple swipe. Wish it was this easy on the Hue app.
Sadly will be returning this beautiful looking remote. Hoping software will improve over time.
Back to Logitech Harmony I go.

The U remote is the basic remote if you wan't the point to different devices feature you will need the X. This remote is nice if you need to control multiple devices but instead of pointing to the device and automatically changing you will need to select it manually at the top of the remote. This remote companies more to a harmony remote but is nicer and easier to use. Gets 4 stars cause battery life could be better also would like to see a voice control option in the future on the U and the X since most TV's have a voice assistant feature. Over all you can't go wrong with this remote but if you plan on using the sensor type control later on get the X.

There's so much potential for this product. But without echo and Google integration I'm afraid it's dead in the water. I could see this being used to unlock your doors start your car order a pizza, check your camera feeds just as the voice assistants do but it doesn't.
It controls your lights and your Nest thermostat I'm not sure for how much longer on the thermostat part as Google discontinuing the works with nest program. For $200 you may as well pocket the $70 can get the Harmony Home Remote for $130. This remote sadly doesn't offer anything other what the Harmony can do.

Thank you for your feedback on Smart Remote, we always appreciate hearing back from our users so that we provide a stellar product. We are always constantly working on compatibility with more devices and some such as Google and echo as you mentioned do take some time as there are quite a lot of intricacies that go into integrating various devices and features such as the ones mentioned and we also to prefer to make sure what we implement runs perfectly and without fail before we integrate it. We still have more to come so I we hope that you remain patient and you will not be dissapointed !

The idea behind the Sevenhugs remote is cool--a sleek universal remote that can handle lots of devices without being big and clumsy with a bunch of buttons. But that's also it's downfall--being so compact makes the interface clumsy in my opinion. Swiping back and forth between devices isn't what I was hoping for. And the battery life is also terrible. More than one day with very sparing use off the dock and it's dead. Maybe I'll give it another try with better software or an updated design.

The best smart remote control u can think of. All i needed to watch all my content in my house. It really served me as a single control unit for nearly all my devices connected. Literally it’s eliminating the need for multiple remote controls. Very convenient to setup and to use. Using it for couple weeks, i highly recommended it. I am just a happy

If you want a fancy little remote to declutter the coffee table, this is it. If you are considering this remote, please do your research and homework first. The app to setup is fairly straightforward, but I discovered it took quite a bit of tweaking and advanced setup to get it to work. That being said, I have a rather mix matched setup and have had difficulty getting any universal remote to work properly. The functions work fine, but the power up and power down have been the problem with any of these remotes. This is where patience and technical expertise come in. Advanced setup configuring the actual power button commands and building delay in between the TV scenes commands, for example. Setup App did keep crashing on this. If my system was all one brand of the same generation, setup would likely be easy. So, if considering this remote, please take that into consideration. Now, I am not pleased with the packaging claiming I can control more than the TV. Actually, this borderlines on false advertisement if not for the fine print regarding compatibility on Bluetooth and WiFi devices. None of the smart plugs/light switches, thermostats, or anything else WiFi that I have are compatible...actually, I think very little is compatible considering what is on the market today. I expect this will change with future software updates. So, for now, I have an expensive (it was a gift) remote that operates the TV and cable box.

I do like how you can connect all your devices to the remote. Programming it to capture the items was not so bad. But the remote is SUPER sensitive and for what we use it for with the cable, we do have to constantly toggle between two screens. My husband does not have big fingers, but they are bigger than mine. He is really not able to use the remote unless he uses a stylus on it as his fingers keep catching the wrong buttons.

Tried to love this thing and back and forth emails with customer service with individual questions and 24 hour response times was tedious to say the least. It’s a great design and size but wouldn’t stay connected to my phone and didn’t add all my devices. Worked well for hue lights when it was working though. Ended up going with another brand.

Very stylish uni-remote. Exceptionally small unit with clever charge mount. You should be aware of the above as it is truly smaller than it appears in images and if you are a ‘thumb’ navigator usage may be problematic.
Set-Up was not as simple as documentation and videos (manufacturer’s/you tube) would lead you to believe.
A week after purchase and set-up there was a firmware upgrade that identified sone if not all of the integration difficulties that I experienced.
Overall I am very pleased with SevenHugs and will add that their Product Support/Customer Service team has been ‘Top-Notch’.

Great remote, works super well with a complex entertainment system. Battery dies after just a few hours idle, so it must be plugged in when not in use. This is frustrating to find a dead battery when you want to turn on the TV.
Also, I had hoped that this remote would allow me to use 2 TV Screens at once. It does not, not completely seamless if you have a multi-tv setup.
