Well. It’s not going to heat a whole normal bedroom size room in 40 degree weather. Even on hi and temp turned up to 80 degrees while oscillating. I came in from being gone and it’s 66 degrees in here. I had it set on 75. It also had the fireplace going before I left which helped heat the room up initially. While I was gone t dropped 10 degrees without the fireplace and heater going at same time. Disappointed being this thing is 399$.

We have really enjoyed having this air purifier for our living room area. We’ve been using an air purifier in our bedroom for around a year now, which has been a game changer for us. We have a very open floor plan at our house so finding a purifier that can handle a large space like our living room that is open to other areas of the house was a must.
I LOVE how easy it was to set the system up. The included instructions are very thorough and they’re also taped to the unit itself AND are on the inside flap of the box. If you can’t work this thing you would’ve had to have missed three different places with instructions. Thankfully, you barely need them as everything is very intuitive and simple.
Perhaps the nicest thing about this unit is the built in remote that is held on by magnets at the top of the unit. I MUCH prefer this remote over yet another app that controls only one thing and relies on Bluetooth. It is quite small as well so you could just sit it on a table next to you and have full control at your finger tips. The large display (which can be dimmed or turned off completely - AWESOME) is easy to read from across the room.
As far as performance as an air purifier, I can tell an almost immediate difference in our air quality throughout the rest of the house now. It’s a bit early to comment on how it’ll affect dust build up which has been an issue for us having two young kids and a dog who spend a lot of time outside.
Noise is minimal even at full blast.
The heated feature is going to come in very handy this winter but it’s not quite cold enough yet for us to give a full assessment of that either.
Quality seems top notch, the filter is absolutely massive, and, so far, it has performed very well.

I like the Shark Air Purifier because its reasonably quiet, has good air flow, has an enormous HEPA filter and has a heater and fan option but its missing two key things for me. Its missing the ability to schedule task and it doesn’t allow you to access the unit remotely except by using the included line of sight remote control – there is no mobile app for this unit. While these aren’t show stoppers they do limit some of the functionality of this Air Purifier. Other Air Purifiers that I own allow me to set up a schedule so that the unit runs at a higher fan speed while we are out of the room or automatically turns off the display at night. The second issue is the total reliance on the remote control. If it’s CR2025 coin size lithium battery dies or the remote gets misplaced you cannot access the controls. Shark recommends this unit for 1000 sq ft room but they don’t provide any data on its AHAM verified Clean Air Delivery Rate for smoke, pollen and dust. Neither do they tell you how long it would take for the unit to circulate the air for a 1000 sq ft room. Most other large top tier air purifiers provide this information so that you can validate the actual air purification.
This Shark does have some interesting features. It can rotate on the base to more evenly distribute the clean air and there is a louver control for the front vent that lets you direct the airflow up or down. There is a large display on the front that tells you the quality of your air as well as the temperature when you are using the heater. The heater works quite well and you can definitely feel the heat when it is on. In the Purified Fan mode the unit produces a nice breeze out the front vent where as the Purified Air mode provides air through the front and back vents thus less breezy. Both settings as well as the heat mode purify the air when operational. Although you cannot set up a schedule you can set a timer for it to run from 1 to 12 hours or you can set it on auto which uses Shark’s Clean Sense IQ to monitor the air and adjust the fan speed. Once the air quality is good the unit then drops into an eco mode which lowers the fan speed. The remote control is a round hockey puck style remote which sits on top of the unit and is held in place magnetically. The remote allows you to power it on/off, select the fan speed, adjust the display brightness, set the temperature for the heat mode, turn on/off the rotation and to select the automatic mode. The remote works fine as long as its pointed at the air purifier and the magnetic base keeps it secure when not in use. Shark recommends placing the unit 3 feet from the wall and furniture which can be problematic if you want to keep it less conspicuous.

We had just returned home from our 10-day leaf-peeping Fall Trip to find that the very warm weather we left was now an early cold snap. We had turned off the thermostat in the house before we left and when we entered the house it was chilly.
Luckily, our sweet neighbor had taken in the parcels that had been delivered while we were away. One of them was the Shark - Air Purifier MAX 3-in-1. I had been looking forward to trying it out, especially since our third floor bedroom never seems to warm up as much as the second floor, where the thermostat is located. That makes for some chilly nights and cold ceramic and stone floors in the morning.
We run a portable heater, which does the job, but does not have a thermostat on it. Also, if you do not run it for a period of time, dust collects in it and causes a terrible stink when you turn on the unit. Ick!
When I was researching the Shark MAX 3-in-1, I found it is not only an air purifier, but it also has a fan and a heating unit with a built-in thermostat. I thought what a great idea!
Once I picked-up the Shark from my neighbor and got all our bags in the house from the trip, I immediately set out to get this unit going to start warming up our very large, cold bedroom. I read the directions, removed all the packing tape and the plastic protecting the HEPA filter.
I ran the video that Shark suggests that new users watch to get oriented to using the unit. I found it a bit overwhelming with too many facts, too fast. I ended up just reviewing the instruction sheet that was included in the box. It was simple and straight forward. I found the MAX to be very intuitive. Using the instruction sheet, I easily set the unit to Heat mode with the switch on the right side of the unit. Then, using the remote control that sits in its magnetic recess at the top of the unit, I set the unit's thermostat to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and adjusted the fan up a couple of notches. The rush of warm air was immediate, the noise level was almost unnoticeable and the air smelled perfectly clean!
Since the room was large and the current temperature was 64 degrees F, I expected it to take a while to heat the room, so I closed the double doors leading to the room. Within 15 minutes, the temperature was up 2 degrees. By the time we were ready for bed the room was at 70 degrees F and the unit had turned off the heat and continued to purify the air. By the morning, the temperature had dropped and the unit was again pumping out heat, maintaining that setting of 70 degrees F.
My husband and I are very impressed with this unit. It is sleekly designed and very intuitive to operate. The light on the display can be set to 3 different levels, so that it won't disturb you with its brightness at night. You can keep the remote handy if you anticipate having to make changes or can keep it in its cradle on the top of the unit. It also has a feature that allows you to child lock the settings, keeping it safe from busy hands.
If you are looking for an air purifier, or a room heater, or a room fan, then why not have them all in one unit? The Shark - Air Purifier MAX 3-in-1 does it all efficiently, quietly and well.

Where to start? I guess first, I'll say this is a great purifier/fan/heater combo!
When this arrived on my porch, I will admit I was somewhat taken aback at its size. It was bigger than I expected. Is that a bad thing? Well no. The larger the fan, the more air is purified, and the more air is moved. Nice feature with this fan is that it can purify AND move both cool and heated air.
Unpacking was simple, a couple quick slices from the handy Spyderco Para 3 and we were ready to go. Shark makes it very clear that the filter is plastic wrapped and needs to be removed before use. From open to operation, was maybe 5 to 7 minutes. Easy money!
While this fan is designed for up to 1000 sq. ft., I decided to put this in my bedroom. It is nowhere near 1000 s.f, but it is about 450 s.f. and I am (according to my wife) a nuclear reactor who creates insane heat when I sleep. I LOVE having a fan on me pretty much all the time to cool me down. this does not disappoint!
The unit has speeds of 1-6. up to 3, it near silent. As you go higher, the noise does increase, but even at 6, it is (to my ear) peaceful white noise. Certainly not intrusive.
Some nice features include a remote control, oscillation and several air monitoring features that are all controlled from the remote.
End of the day, this is a great choice for LARGE rooms. I would recommend to a friend!

The Shark Air Purifier 3-in-1 Max is a great air cleaner, cool fan and heater that covers a really large room. It also has an automatic setting which purifies the air in the room as needed by measuring the air and working to purifies it until it’s back to 100% clean. It is very quiet in all modes. As it purifies, it shows the air quality on the display using colors as well as numbers. It’s easy to see the ring of colors from across the room and know the status of the air based on red, amber and blue around the round display. The numbers on the display are large but not as easy to see from across a large room, up to 1,000 square feet. The whole unit can oscillate as well to better distribute the air in the room for fan or heat.
The first thing I don’t like very much is that the remote is round and a little difficult for me to hold and use but most of the time I leave it on the top of the unit where it fits well and can be used from there as a control panel. The second thing I don’t like is that there is no app for this air purifier and the third thing is that there is a physical dial for heat or cool so it cannot be digitally controlled like my other air purifier.

The Shark HC501 Air Purifier 3-in-1 Max has it all. It is first and foremost an air purifier. But add to that it is also a fan and a heater. Quite honestly, this is the first 3-in-1 I have encountered given that we have four air purifiers scattered all over the house.
The Scar HC 501 is cylindrical in shape which is quite common. It comes in tow colors namely black and white. ( I have the back variant.) In front of the unit is a display that shows temperature and air quality. It has a lighted ring that changes color depending on air quality. Note that this model has a capacity of 1000 square feet meaning that it can also be used in your living room too. Being cylindrical in shape also means that the filter which can be accessed from the back is also cylindrical.
On top of the unit is where you can find the control panel which is circular in shape. But wait, that “control panel” can also be removed and be used as your remote. This actually pretty as the design actually fooled me. The the remote control/control panel has you power button (though there is also another power button in the main unit itself.) To use the HC501 purely as an air purifier, make sure you turn the switch on the right side of the unit to purifier mode. One operational, the air flow comes our through back side. In the remote, you can find the automatic button which pretty much does what it says. Air purifier strength is automatic and you just leave it there. The ring at the front panel becomes red/orange when the air is dirty and blue when the air is clean. (There is also a dimmer button in the remote unit in case you do not want any lights on.) Amfyou can see the actual air quality through the digital display. Lastly, you can adjust the purifying strength manually by pressing the lower arrow buttons I the remote unit.
By switching the level to fan mode, you can now operate the HC501 as a fan or a heater. Be aware that whether in fan mode or heater mode, you get purified air coming out of the unit. Also, when switching to fan mode, the air flow is now on the from of the unit. A lever is also located in front of the unit to adjust air flow. You can adjust air speed by using the arrows located at the lower end of the remote unit. There are six levels of air flow levels available. And of course there is an oscillating button for the main unit like most other fans.
By pressing the red temperature button, obviously makes the HC501 go into heating mode. The left and right arrow keys act as thermostat controls. Pressing the right arrow key until the says displays high means that there would be continuous heat otherwise, the unit stops at the set temperature. And finally, there is a timer which works to all three modes of the HC501.
The HC501 lacks wi-fi controls. But in general, there is really no need for wi-fi for this unit to function as intended. But having wi-fi capability for controls would be a nice touch. But then again, that would add to the cost of the HC501.
In spite of the HC501 not having wi-fi, this should not be a dealbreaker for its intended function. The HC501 has a nice feature set and and seems to have robust build quality to boot. I would highly recommend the HC501.

It works well as a heater and a fan but not sure if its a good air purifier. I bought it to combat cooking odor of fried oil & spicy curry. I would rate is zero in odor elimination. It can detect the air quality drop, in couple of hours it shows air purified to 100% but the odor remains the same. How do I know if the air has been purified at all. I have a Ecobee smart thermostat installed. While thebair purifier showing 100% air quality, the thermostat still showing Significantly poor air quality. Being a $450 top of the line gadget, expected it to work like a charm. Going to return it today!

The Shark Air Purifier 3 in 1 Max is an impressive product. The size - 11" diameter and 30" tall - blends nicely into the room's surroundings without taking up too much space. It runs quietly in the background while cleaning the surrounding air - up to 1000 square feet.
It operates with a six-speed fan and the sound is undetectable on the first two speeds, however it still moves plenty of air. Turn it up another couple notches and you can really feel it! There are three operating settings -
Purified fan - cleans the air while the fan blows cool air
Purified heat - cleans the air while the fan blows heat
Purified air - cleans the air and exhausts it through the rear of the unit
Both purified fan and heat also have an oscillating feature to move the air around the room even more efficiently. Speaking of quiet - there's no extra noise during oscillation - a definite plus!
The unit includes a removable HEPA filter designed to filter up to 99.98% of the bad particles in the air, including pet hair and odor. The filter is accessed through a panel on the back side and simply slides in/out.
In the purified heat mode, it acts as a thermostat to measure room temperature, heat the room, and maintain temperature. It also utilizes a feature they call Clean Sense IQ to clean the air around you and display the results on the front of the unit in real time. The display is easy to see/read and has a colored circle to indicate air quality - blue indicates good, orange is fair, and red is poor. We cooked bacon on the stove and saw the circle change in real time! While cooking, the circle turned red, but within minutes the unit cycled through orange and onto blue.
For such a compact size, it cleans the air in such a large area - without the large "box" design like so many similar products. In fact, it looks more like a regular tower/oscillating fan than a device that heats, cools, AND purifies the air. It's also priced less than some of those other products.
All in all, this is a fantastic product that really works!
