The Perfect Appliance for Fire and Pollen Seasons.

The Shark Air Purifier 6 has become one of the best appliance additions to my house. Unboxing and Setup The setup of the air purifier was straightforward. The inside box flaps have clear instructions and pictures for setting up the unit for use. Removal of the packaging around the unit and the internal filter is simple. I placed the unit on one side of the living room about a foot from a wall, plugged it in, and pressed the power button. The unit has easy-to-understand controls and displays on the top and an air quality display on the front. The unit immediately tested the air quality. Usage Usually, I don't need to use the air purifier since the quality in my home is 98-100%. However, the smoke from the summer fires was terrible last year, and I'm sure I'll be putting it to good use. A good first test of the unit was the morning after the 4th of July. There was a lot of leftover smoke in the air. When I powered the unit on, our air quality was at 83%. I left the unit running for the entire morning, and the air quality had improved to 100%. The air was noticeably cleaner and smelled fresh. We also have two cats, and we use the air purifier to freshen up the air. Our living room is large, and this unit had no problem cleaning the air. I was amazed at how quiet the unit is, even in the highest setting. Features • Six powerful micro-fans run quieter than larger box/circular fans. • Touchscreen controls and a clear display on the top of the unit. • Air quality display on the front of the unit. • Airflow is through an anti-allergen HEPA filter. • 99.97% of dander, dust, odors, smoke, pollen, allergens and pet hair are filtered out. • Auto purify mode (Clean Sense IQ) will monitor the air quality and adjust the airflow accordingly. • Remote control handles all functions of the unit. • The replaceable air filter is good for 6-12 months without washing. • The display can show air quality, estimated time till the air is clean, and the amount of particulate matter in the air. Summary I am delighted with the quality, sound, and performance of the Shark Air Purifier 6. I know we will be healthier and safer during fire and pollen seasons.

We have air purifiers in different parts of the house, due to allergies, so I've seen a few models. The unique factor with this is that instead of using a single fan, that is either very large or spins fast, this has six small fans spread through the body of the unit. The first benefit is that is much quieter, so I can leave it running all night bedside, and it's barely audible. It's also compact, width-wise, although taller than many others. Being short in width allows me to leave it close to the wall, between windows and does not protrude as much. It has an air quality sensor, measuring different particle sizes, and provides and overall 'air score' where 100 is the most clean. The display shows different measurements, and a color ring changes from blue (clean) to yellow (moderate) to red (bad) depending on the air quality. With this data, in auto mode, it adjusts four different speeds on the fans (all at the same speed) depending on how much air if needs to circulate. The air intake is through the filters, on the back of the unit and spreads the cleaned air on both left and right sides. The front is polished plastic. (This model is black, they also have it in white). The top is also glossy with a clear plastic on top of black, where it has the main screen and touch controls. I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. It's rather utilitarian looking, but this all depends on how and where it's used. The touch controls are actually very responsive. I had other appliances that are a pain to operate touch controls but this got it just right. There's an on/off, speed level or auto, timer and screen brightness. Also a filter reset. The filter is one piece with three layers: Dust filter, HEPA filter and carbon filter. It's single piece with all the filters bonded together and it goes in one way only. It's very easy to swap the filter. Screens: For some inexplicable reason, this fan has two screens that shows a clean score and the color ring. The screen on top also has the controls and the one in the front has the same information without the controls. It's a feature so it can be seen from any direction but it's really a design quirk. It's fine and very useful, but I don't like that the unit has no light sensor. It can be set to bright, medium and off. The medium setting is distracting at night, so after a few days I turned the screens off. Other units have a light sensor that adjusts the screen automatically. It's a small detail in these high-end purifiers but this, that has two screen doesn't have it. Remote control: It has a nicely designed remote control, with a big on/off button and all the other controls. Looks modern and works well, with nicely arranged buttons. It comes with its bell (watch type) battery, which I'd expect would last for years. It has no app or phone/cloud connectivity (And frankly, does not need to). I noticed that if the unit is on, unplug it and then plug it back on, it returns to it's previous setting. This is great so I could use an appliance switch if I want to with this. Packaging was good, without excess of cardboard, the necessary amounts of bag and no Styrofoam (Which regardless of not being recyclable, invariably makes a mess when removing, with irritating noises). So props for thought-of packaging. The unit was manufactured in China, however SharkNinja operates from, and designs its own products in Needham, Massachusetts. Overall it's a great unit. Seems well built and it is exceptionally quiet. It's also not bulky although it's wide and tall. I'm happy so say I can keep this bed-side running all day, being quiet.

This is the first purifier I have owned and would definitely recommend this unit. My home is 1400 square feet with AC return vents in each room. All AC return air comes back to the main living area where I set this up and it purifies the entire house.

A basic air purifying fan device

The Shark™ Air Purifier 6 is a HEPA Filter and 6-Fan based air purifying system that is used to provide one cleaner air within one or more rooms of your home. The following items are the key features: • 6-FAN AIRFLOW: Shark gives you six high-speed micro-fans work together to evenly distribute airflow across the filter. • ULTRA-FAST MEETS ULTRA-QUIET: Six high-speed fans provide a remarkably quiet, clean, and an incredibly fast clean air delivery rate. • TRACKS & ADJUSTS AUTOMATICALLY: Clean Sense IQ™ tracks air quality and auto-adjusts power to constantly maintain clean air in your home. The easy-to-use control panel displays data in real-time. • ANTI-ALLERGEN HEPA MULTI-FILTER: Shark’s Anti-Allergen Multi-Filter captures 99.97% of dust, dander, allergens, smoke, and household odors.* • HEIGHTENED ODOR PROTECTION: An advanced odor guard on the filter protects against household odors from cooking, cleaning products, and more. • ADVANCED PROTECTION FROM HOUSEHOLD FUMES: The activated carbon layer protects your air from household fumes like formaldehyde. • LARGE CLEANING AREA: 6 fans working together generate the power to clean the air in large, open-space areas. • REMOTE CONTROL INCLUDED: An easy-to-use remote gives you complete control from up to 15'. • *Based on HEPA filtration standards of 99.97% filtration, down to 0.3 microns. Set-up is straightforward and consists of removing the various tape, plastic covers and removing the Filter from its plastic packaging. Next, one places the unit with at least 3 inches of space between the unit and the wall with the front of the unit facing away from the nearest wall. Once set in place one just turns the unit on to have it begin cleaning the air. The top of the unit is a control panel that has the following controls - the On/Off Button, Air Info (cycles between displaying the % Clean air, Time to Clean air, and 3 particle size counts), Auto Mode Button, Filter life button, Brightness button, shut-off timer button, and the Fan Speed button. Each of these controls literally does what it says or displays the information it states it will display. Auto mode is recommended for optional filter life and unit performance. The front display mimics the top display and when using the remote can be seen from across the room. The front of the unit displays a colored ring and a percentage score for the air quality of the room/area the unit is working in. The ranges are Poor (Red Ring and 0% - 69%). Fair (Yellow Ring and 70-84%), and Good (Blue Ring and 85% - 100%) rating. The air quality percentage is based on the system counting 3 particle sizes in the air and calculating the air quality % in accordance with the particulate matter (PM) Air Quality Standards as determined by the EPA to calculate the air quality rating. Overall, this unit is a nice unit and does what it states it will do. When considering its basic/midrange functionality when combined with the $449.99 suggested retail price, it seems to be on the steep end of the pricing spectrum and I would highly recommend folks shop around to see if this unit meets their needs before purchasing it.

Keeps the house air really clean!

Shark has made a great air purifier with this model of release. I have been using it for over a week now and the air just feels cleaner and fresh. It picks up odors and locks them in immediately turning the air clean. Everything you would want from a Modern air purifier is here with tons of useful features. The box is large but it’s easy to pull out the unit and place it where you want. The design is more monolith / Sci-fi than anything I’ve seen before from an air purifier. There are easy instructions printed on the tab of the box so you can set it up right away. Once plugged in, it gives you a host of information about your Air inside your location which can be fun to see. There is a feature on Shark’s Air Purifier 6 that makes it stand out. “Clean Sense IQ” completely and intelligently adjust to the room air and cleans the air for you showing you stats in real-time. Over time this can go from 0% to 100% in about 45 minutes time. I’ve tried this with smoke as the air impacts hard to 0%. I love this feature the most! This model really takes over the biggest space in your home as it traps all the allergens inside from the six large fans inside. The best part here is Shark made this a really powerful and quiet machine. Touch-sensitive buttons give this model a nice look. The buttons light up but there is a way to turn it off if the lights are too bright. Fan Speed Control, Air Info, Auto, Filter Life, Brightness, and Timer Buttons are all displayed at the top of the unit which looks cool. When pressing the “Air Info” button the air purifier will display info about: Air Percentage: The percentage of your air quality. Time to Clean: The time takes for the unit to clean the air. PM1.0: Number of particles, allergens, and viruses in the air. PM2.5: Number of smoke and bacteria in the air. PM10: Number of dust, pollen, and mold in the air. Three colors around the ring of light let you know what levels the air is in. (Blue = Clean Air, Yellow = Air is mid-way clean, and Red = Bad Air.) the unit comes with a remote control so you don’t have to get up to turn it on. Auto Mode is mostly set it and forget it. You can just place the air purifier down and let it clean the air. If the air sense is really bad or if there is odors in the air the fans will turn on the highest. If Air is clean the fans will hit low. You can also manually set the settings yourself by turning the fan speed high or low. giving you greater control of the air around you. There is a bunch of features in the HEPA filters themselves. Kills a bunch of odors, strange food smells, captures pollen, and super high smoke absorption. It does the job really really well. So much so I want to buy more filters, but all this does come at a high cost. The filters for this unit are around $90. Keep this in mind when buying Shark’s latest and greatest. Each filter lasts 5000 hours which is more than enough time considering that it has auto mode. Overall the unit does the job extremely well and I enjoy it in my household. The air purifier keeps my home really pure air and it’s good to see stats of how my home is doing. The family seems to enjoy it as well coming home to fresh clean air. Shark did a good job with this one and the XL size is perfect for my use.

With a new puppy added to our household, I was concerned about a dog smell lingering in my clothes and rooms. I bought this during a Presidents Day Sale for a great deal! The setup was super easy and took minimal time to complete. There are different features you can access. My favorite is being able to see the PPM that’s being filtered through the air. I have it set to Auto so it will automatically increase the fan speed when needed. The fan isn’t very loud and the remote enables you to change the settings. I’ve even been able to do so from a different room! The back where the filter is located is very accessible and easy to change. I was a bit apprehensive because I had read other reviews where some users were unable to get the filter to lock into place, but this was not the case. This is great for filtering smoke and it even filters aerosol sprays in the air. My only complaint is sometimes when I return home there is a faint dog smell. I have a feeling it is her bedding which is the reason for giving such a high rating as far as air quality improvement goes. Bottom line is I am extremely satisfied with this product and would absolutely recommend this to friends and family.

    The purifier to acquire!

If you truly care, about clean air Get an air purifier, and expect your wellbeing to be higher I may not be much of a poet, but I do appreciate good air quality. As someone with seasonal allergies, summers can be tough for me. The air conditioner in the house does filter the air somewhat, but not enough. That’s what made me interested in the Shark Air Purifier 6. My first floor is mostly one room, so I chose the AP 6 over the AP 4. I wasn’t sure how large it would be, so when it came in, the box was bigger than I expected. The device is pretty tall at 32 inches, and takes up 17” X 9” on the floor. That’s not too bad when you put it at the recommended 3 - 4 inches away from a wall. It also means that you can read the top display if you sit right next to it, which has lots of information about pollutants if you click the Air Info button. You can change between three fan speeds, and set a timer between 1 and 12 hours. There is a 0 setting also, but it doesn’t seem to do anything, unless it’s an “oops, I didn’t mean to hit that” button. The settings can also be changed with the included remote control. Another thing you can do, is set the brightness. I didn’t think about this until I moved it next to my bed and I found out it was too bright on the default setting. That’s when I discovered that there are three settings: 100%, 50% and 0%. I thought 50% was perfect for when the lights are out, but you can always turn it off at night. It’s just a click or two, either on the device or the remote. I’ve only had the Air Purifier 6 for a week, but I’ve tested it both in the kitchen and next to my bed. I wanted to see where it made the most difference. The kitchen has to deal with typical kitchen smells, while the bed makes me sneeze on occasion. When it was in the kitchen, I noticed less food-related odors, but it was more interesting by the bed, because I actually woke up the next day feeling like the air was cleaner, and that I was more rested, which was amazing. The fan isn’t loud enough on Auto that it keeps me up, so I’ll probably keep it by the bed. When it’s on Auto in my house, the device stays on the lowest fan speed. If you change it manually to 2 or 3, you can hear it more, but I can only imagine that you would use those settings temporarily, and not when you’re trying to sleep. By comparison, the air conditioner is much noisier and obnoxious in this house. This of course depends on the typical air quality in your home. I don’t know how long it will take before the filter needs to be changed, but I will mention that when you receive the unit, you have to remove a plastic around the filter. This will also educate how to replace the filter, which is very easy. Just open the back, take out the old one, put the new one in. The manual mentions that it should last 6 - 12 months, but I’ve only had it a week, so it’s too early to say. Hopefully, this air purifier lasts a long time, because if it makes me sleep better, it’s worth every dollar. One last thing: The unit looks black in person, but in the photos, it appears to be more charcoal gray, which is the official color.

Air Purifier Fights Allergens & Enhances Comfort

    |
    Posted .

INTRODUCTION The Shark - Air Purifier 6 with Advanced Odor Lock and Fumes Lock is a machine that exceeds expectations & is a most welcome addition to our home. It measures 32" High X 17" Wide X 9" Deep. I chose it to fight Allergens because of it's Multi-Filters. It delivered that & so much more than I anticipated! Featuring 6) high output fans that expel air out the sides while intaking air through the HEPA rear-mounted filter, it is clearly designed for a large room. Shark recommends it for a room up to 230 square feet. Touch the large round button on the remote, or the touch sensitive panel to start the Shark. It sniffs out the air, determines the level of impurities & displays this on a large easy-to-read number on the front panel. The unit begins in Auto mode, where the fans start up on the 1st of 4 speeds. As the built-in Clean Sense IQ detects Allergens & other air impurities, greater air purification is required. The fans automatically accelerate up to the appropriate speed. THEATRICAL AIR CIRCULATION I was "Blown Away" by how much more comfortable a large room feels with this Air Purifier in operation. I placed it within the specified 3" from a side wall in our 17' X 30' Home Theatre (510 Square Feet). The Theatre is in the basement, so the temperature is steady but air seldom moves, unless the HVAC is heating or cooling the house. The 6) fans are so powerful, it circulates air & adds a very comfortable feel to the room, augmented by the moving air flow. For maximum circulation, choose Fan Speed #4 from the remote. The remote has a long range & reaches the Tower 30 feet away, on the other side of the room. However, Fan Speed #4 moves so much air, that the sound of moving air can interfere with a movie or concert in the Theatre, unless that program material is loud. So I choose Fan Speed #2 or #3 & the results are ideal. All fan speeds are incredibly quiet, considering the CFM (Cubic Feet / Minute) that it outputs. The large Air Quality Display circled by a ring that changes color, based on Air Quality, is adjustable from the remote from Full Brightness, to Dim, to Dark (Off). This is perfect for a dark bedroom or theatre, as the bright light could otherwise prove a distraction. See attached photos. Click on the Air Info button for details about pollutants in the air. CONCLUSION The Shark Air Purifier 6 is the highest quality Air Purifier I have experienced. Yet it achieves so much more than simply clean the air. It actually makes the room feel more comfortable by circulating the air, because of the 6) high power fans. I highly recommend this premium quality product!

Very Pro-Active Air Filter & Extremely Quiet

I have had the opportunity to use this air filter on a daily basis for quite some time now. I absolutely love the features and design and when the fan is on auto is pretty much whisper quiet unless the air quality drops drastically then the fan kicks on high and brings you back to a breathable 100% CLEAN. It is a sleek black design with a very read-able digital display which has easy to read options and displays all the info you need at your fingertips. It constantly displays the air quality and there is nothing as re-assuring as seeing 100% on the readout. I have it set on AUTO, whenever the air quality drops the fan kicks on and brings you back to 100%. I was at first skeptical on the accuracy of the air monitor system but i was reassured because whenever i cook and it even starts to get a little smoky the fan kicks on...THE BEST PART IS THE AIR PURIFIER IN ANOTHER ROOM AND STILL READS THE AIR QUALITY. I suffer from allergies and have noticed a huge improvement in my symptoms due to less dust and pollen in the air. It has a reusable air filter and 6 fans which keep my first floor air quality excellent. I prefer this to the room units, why purify a room when you can keep a whole floor clean at all times with the automatic setting. It will also display the amount of pollutants in the air and air quality. AN AMAZING ADD-ON FOR ANY HOME! ALLERGY SUFFERERS REJOICE!

I love this thing. I have a dog and I saw the filter with his fur on it. So I know it works. Quiet and a great size for the area is in. A bit pricy. But I see why. Maybe over day they will make the filter free. Lol

    Pure, Clean Air!

If you are looking for a great air purifier for your living environment, then this is definitely the right product for you! Out of the box, this thing seems massive; and it kinda is. It stands about 2 1/2 feet tall and 17" wide. Once it is set up though, it is sleek and doesn't seem as big. First thing to absolutely note is the only air blowing from the fans is out of the sides. The inlet filter is on the back side and the front is just a fully enclosed cover, so room positioning will be important. This in not intended as a cooling fan, although if you set it up right, it will definitely give a good breeze to your seating arrangement or bed, especially since the fans sit up towards the top of the unit. Setting up and Mobility is very easy and for as big as the purifier is, it is not very heavy, and has easy carry handles built into the tops of the sides. It is very sturdy once positioned and well balanced so that it won't easily fall over with it being so tall, but I would still recommend putting it somewhere it won't be able to be bumped or knocked over. The power cord is tucked up under the bottom side of the unit and is only a small standard 2 prong cord, so it doesn't take up a bunch of space on your outlets. Before turning it on, you must remove the back panel and take the filter out of its wrapper and put it back in. It comes with warnings to do this when setting up. You can damage the unit if you do not do that. The display and functionality is very simple and easy to use. The front of the unit has display readout for your clean air level and is very big and easy to read. It can be fully lit, dimmed, or turned off if you want. The top panel of the unit has the touch panel display and instructions/settings labeled to it. There are no physical buttons, only touch pads. The top tells you your fan speed, filter life, and air quality read out. It lets you set a timer for how long you want it to run, or you can put it on auto and let it detect when to ramp up the fans and clean the air. There is also a QR code you can scan with your phone that can link you to all of your instructions and replacement parts. The fans can put out some decent air when the fan speed is turned all the way up. The worse air quality, the faster fan speed you want. They are fairly quiet when running at low speed, but does get pretty loud when turned all the way up. The included remote is very functional and sleek. It has a large center power button, an information button that will cycle the front display with the air quality reading and your timer. Can turn on auto mode, adjust the brightness, and turn up and down your fan speed. The air quality improvements with this has been amazing. I use it in my bedroom because before when I sleep I end up waking up with a stuffy nose or a lot of mucus. Since using this, I have been waking up with clear sinus' every morning. I love it. Overall, this is a very cool, sleek, and powerful air purifier and helps me a lot. With its easy mobility to be moved between rooms or where needed, and it only having a 2 prong power plug, it is a hard purifier to beat. I highly recommend.

This air purifier is insanely good! The air in my home is generally good, some pet dander and fur from a cat and dog, but it is at 100% clean air most the time. BUT what really blew me and the wife away was we blew out a candle that was about 10 feet away and not even 20 seconds later, the purifier showed the air quality at 75 and ramped up the fans and cleaned the air pretty quickly. Amazed by thos, we tested 2 more times and each time it detected the quality and cleaned. AMAZED! This is an amazing product. Bought the 4 fan for the bedroom.

Works amazing. Really cleans the air. The big test was my kids birthday party. People coming in and out, bringing in grass. Kept this running and and out. The air was all over the place. This kept pushing out clean air. Definitely helps if you have allergies.

    Excellent Air Purification

The air purification is excellent, in my opinion. I am about to buy another one actually. It's unfortunate though, that this is not a Smart Home device. I wish I was able to monitor my air quality in my home from anywhere, from any device. A remote control is old fashioned and all that's included. Whether it's Alexa, Google, a Shark App, and/or other, Shark should make this a Smart Home compatible device, because I really think this an amazing product. It monitors the air particles in your home and shows you the actual status of your air quality on screen, it can even detect particles the size of a virus. So, I highly recommend this product for the reason that it's actually showing you what it's filtering. Shark adding Smart Home compatibility continues to be my wish.

Great air purifier, I have not had any issues so far. My only complaint is that the replacement filters are pricey, luckily they don’t need replaced too often. My first filter lasted 6 months and I have 9 pets in my house!

MUST HAVE IF YOU HAVE DOGS

I LOVE this air purifier so much! I have it placed in my kitchen, and it works in my sun room, kitchen, and living room. I have 2 Bassett Sheppards, and the dirt they track in doesn't affect the air nearly as much. Also, when I clean the kitchen, it will tell me the air quality level which reminds me to open windows. The filter is expensive to replacr, but it's worth the investment. I need to get a similar one for the back of the house now.
