Amazing vacuum so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this vacuum has been amazing. I love that it has different settings for different floors, its suction is incredible and being able to remove the canister for portability is a great feature. A bonus is that this unit has lights, even when using the handheld tool. Shark really put a lot of thought into this unit. I previously had a Dyson Animal, and although I liked that vacuum, I feel this Shark is far better in features. This Shark vacuums equally as well as the Dyson. My only criticism is that it can be heavy for some. My wife finds it difficult to move around. After a few minutes of cleaning, she will feel a soreness in her arms....so beware of that if you are on the smaller side or not as strong as the average person. One criticism of the Best Buy store, I didn't appreciate that the on-site Dyson sales person followed us around and kept on questioning us as to why we weren't buying a Dyson. I feel it's great to have a Dyson representative on site, but he should stay in the Dyson area and not be so harassing with customers that are interested in other vacuums. If I wanted a Dyson, I would have come to that area. Enjoy!

Literally blows dyson out of the water!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a dyson vacuum (actually two) for five years and was never happy with the suction but couldn’t bear myself to spend anymore money on a vacuum, after fighting never ending dog hair and dust I finally gave up and decided to try the shark after a rave review from a coworker. I was not disappointed!! The suction is amazing on this machine! The light on the bottom allows me to see exactly what There is to be vacuumed and it’s most satisfying to see it’s getting it all. I also enjoy the carpet pet hair attachment because I have Carpeted stairs that are basically a lint roller for our dog and I’ve struggled for years to keep them clean until now. The vacuum itself is heavier than the Dyson and is really my only complaint but definitely not bothersome enough that I wouldn’t repurchase. It’s been about two months and I continue to be happy.

Great vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our household has multiple pets and this vacuum does a great job of picking up the hair. The different settings and adjustments make it great for all floors. It is a bit heavier than other Shark vacuums but what it does more than makes up for it.

AZ1002 Long-term Review
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum in 2/20 to clean hardwood floors. The price, features, and build quality were spot on, with only competitor wet/dry vacs being nearly comparable. The Apex won out for better anticipated long-term durabilty. I can say without reservation this is the most versatile and effective vacuum I've ever used for varying for surfaces. When it comes to hard surfaces, the brush roll technology cannot be beat! Now in 11/21 I had to file a warranty claim due to a failed floor nozzle. I began noticing issues with the brush roll not turning off in the upright position and simply falling out of position when the vacuum is picked up. I called expecting the 5yr warranty to cover this motorized component, but the warranty rep claimed floor nozzles aren't warrantied. I pushed back on her request to pay $95 for a replacement nozzle and shipping. She cut the price in half at first, but then only charged me $15 for s&h when I insisted the warranty literature DOES NOT exclude the floor nozzle (only filters/pads are excluded). I absolutely recommend this vacuum, especially for hard surfaces, but long-term durabilty is questionable. I'm disappointed the powered floor nozzle failed so quickly, but I'm even more disappointed at Shark's attempt to profit from their defects in craftsmanship.

Versitile, excellent suction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bough this to replace a gen1 dyson big ball that started loosing suction. The shark apex vacums carpets and hardfloors very well, better than the dyson did when brand new. The shark is a bit harder to maneuver than the dyson it replaced, but its also 200 bucks cheaper so well worth it. The spongy, washable filter gets dirty quite quickly. You habe to clean those roughly monthly and I foresee buying new filters annually for the skark (normal use, just a 1900sq ft house, no pets or kids, vacumed once a week) Love the multiple attachments, the ease with which you can switch from rollers to hoses, to the carry mode... and it has lights built into the base and the hose attachment. Well thought out design overall.

Even better than our previous Shark.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works very well on our carpets and is easy to use on the stairs. It's relatively quiet. The filtering system keeps any dust out of the exhaust air. It's also very easy to empty the dirt out.

Almost Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great vacuum. Easy to push, love the feature of no hair wrap on the cleaning bar. Seem lighter in weight compared to other vacuums I had in the past. Seems to do a good job cleaning rugs and hardwood floors, has fairly low profile to go under furniture. The down sides, the dirt cup is small, needs to be emptied almost after each use, but it is very easy to open and dump. I really wish it had a self winding cord, I haven’t had a vacuum that I had to self wind in a long time. Hopefully that will be a added feature in the future. Would recommend!

Awesome Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok for anyone with hardwoods or simple carpets this is the vacuum for you. I have 100 year old hard woods and back then space between floor boards was a thing and well so was dirt. The suction power of the Apex Duo is more than one could ever hope for. It will suck up all dirt , dust and anything that gets in its path. The occasional dirty sock , toy , heck it may even try to suck up your children if they are in the way. It’s versatility is my favorite part as I can go from regular vacuum to stairs, to under the furniture and back to upholstery in seconds. It has taken hours off my cleaning time frame. Thank you Shark for such a great vacuum!

The 'Jaws' of vacuums
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a 5 year run with a Dyson, that eventually failed due to a short in the chord/plug, I 'downgraded' to the Shark APEX DuoClean...<--- sarcasm included. While the suction doesn't feel as equally strong as the Dyson, it actually is! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and this vacuum has pulled more hair from my carpets than my Dyson ever has. Also, the ability to switch from floor vacuuming, to detaching the top handle to cleaning crevices is so awesome! I thought I'd possibly regret not buying another Dyson, but I'm onboard with Shark!

Best vacuum with great suction power.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old vac is a shark duo and it was great but the pet hair always wound up in the roller. I bought a bissel pet hair that was self cleaning and actually other than the self cleaning roller it was a bad purchase. Most of the time it wouldn’t pick up much. Now this new shark apex is the tops. Powerful suction and self cleaning roller. Wow. I’ve even had a dyson and this apex vac by far is the best one I’ve ever had. We have two dogs and this is the one. So glad I purchased this. Well worth the money and it’s even quieter than the other vacs I’ve used or had. No regrets.

"This thing kicks ***"
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The summary title says it all. My wife said it, explaining how great it does. My wife uses this mostly, and recently passed it on to my 9 year old to use it. It's easy enough for a 9 year old to push around so long as you keep the canister cleaned out and the brush free of hair and debris. I know it's a lot easier to throw around the house than the dyson we have been moving around the house the last 8 or 10 years. I truly hope the longevity lasts as long as the Dyson. If it does, the purchase will have been more worth it than the Dyson was all those years ago!

Nice little contraption
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my wife for our anniversary/Christmas (don’t worry, she has been begging me for one and vacuuming is a weird obsession to her). She loves it so much that I haven’t been allowed to use it. From what I could tell when putting it together, it’s got some solid construction and is very versatile. It cleans extremely well and emptying the dust cup is EXTREMELY easy! Just push a button and it all falls out into the trash (don’t push the button without a trash can under it, unless you like to double vacuum) Definitely a great purchase!

Better than a Dyson and really easy to use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I swore that I’d never own another bag less vacuum. The filters were terrible and it seemed like it took as long to clean the vacuum as it did to clean the floors. However this machine is simple no need for 8 different head height adjustments got from high carpet to wood floors with the push of a button. Goes under beds and other furniture with great ease in carry mode Best of all it sucks I mean Really SUCKS! The vacuum power on this thing is amazing nothing is left behind when you’re done. Yea it’s a little pricy but wow is it worth it.

Quiet, Powerful with Swivel Head
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark Apex duo is a significant upgrade from the Eureka it replaced. It is far quieter, very powerful and the ability to swivel the vacuum head allows for easy maneuverability around corners and chair legs. The best feature is the ability to disengage the dustbin so that the vacuum head can go under low access points such as sofas and beds. This makes cleaning these areas much easier. Cleaning the dustbin is also quite simple, click and detach the canister and clean out the dirt and dust. Re-insert until it snaps and you are back in business.

Good, but has its quirks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pros are the suction power, the easy of detaching the different components for longer vs. shorter wand and for caring the canister vs. having it attached to the whole unit, and the canister access as well as disposal. The cons are the the suction is so good or the way the motor at the base works that depending on the carpet/carpet pile height it will pull up the rug as you move back and forth, the weight is hefty, and the arm extension spiral piece is very difficult to extend (not sure if it’s because it’s new or design) so it’s not easy to use in tight spots. Overall I think it’s a solid vacuum, but I think it definitely has room for improvement.

Great vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is quite powerful! I bought it to replace a very old household vacuum for my mother who has long hair that gets stuck in the roller bars, but so far no stuck hair on the self cleaning brush roll! I gave it 4 stars because it only came with a few attachments and I had to order the dusting brush and multi crevice tool with the dusting brush from amazon, not sure why they didn’t include them as all shark vacuums I have purchased had them as a standard attachment. This is an awesome vacuum for large jobs and heavy duty vacuuming.

Outstanding suction capability and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every once in a while you purchase an item that blows you away, and this vacuum is it! As a male, I do not like to vacuum. However, I have enjoyed using this vacuum since it is so easy to use and pulls up so much dirt from carpets, I can feel it working. And, it works great on floors too, lessening the need to sweep. I also feel like my allergies have decreased since the carpeting is cleaner. The vacuum was a bit pricey but I feel it was worth it.
