Very Nice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new Shark Clean & Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum arrived very well packaged. I was happy to see that a crevice and brush attachment were included with the vacuum. I have three other Shark vacuums and Shark is great. I especially love my corded, bagless Shark because it is so easy for me to manage as an elderly disabled woman. It does an excellent job cleaning deep into my carpets. I have two other Shark sticks, one for our vacation tiny house and one for quick spot cleans around the house. I replaced the batteries on both just this year and they still work great. When I saw this new technology I really had to try it. We set the cleaning/charge station in our laundry room because it is pretty large and not something I wanted to leave out in the open. The vacuum was fairly easy to put together but we did need the quick start guide to refer to. I downloaded the owners guide from the website, although it was basically the same info. Oddly there is no good place to store both the included attachments which is annoying. There is a place on the stand for the crevice attachment but it will not stay in place. We plugged in the station and placed the vacuum on it to fully charge overnight for the first time. I immediately noticed that the handle/battery placement is very awkward. It sits below the on/off control switch and the boost button causing me to need both hands to start, stop or turbo boost. I noticed my husband was able to extend his thumb enough to reach the controls with one hand. As noted, there is an option to boost the cleaning power next to the power switch and an led battery life indicator. We noted in our test run that the battery began flashing to charge after less than 20 minutes run time in a combo of boost and eco power. There are led lights across the face of the floor attachment and the indicator lights blue in eco or low suction mode and magenta in boost, higher suction mode which is needed to get carpet clean. We have low pile rugs, deep plush carpet and tile floors. The vacuum transitioned easily between the tile and carpet. I noticed there was, at times, a several second delay between the change from tile to deeper carpet. It also switched back and forth on my low pile rugs as though confused at times about the suction needs. This vacuum is lightweight and very flexible with a good ability to get under furniture and around corners. The collection chamber is noticeably smaller than my other vacuums thanks to the new technology. In my limited testing it never came close to filling up. When I placed it back on the cleaning charger it pulled everything out in just a few seconds and began charging. I love that the next time I need it it will be fully charged and empty, ready to hold the dirt from my next clean up. We did empty the charging base canister just to see how it worked. It will easily hold several cleanings before it needs emptying. It is a very nice vacuum for quick clean ups but I still need my corded Shark for whole house and deep cleaning. Other takeaways, the cleaning/charging station is large. You still have to empty the dirt, just not as often. This vacuum does a good job cleaning and is light weight but the battery won’t clean my whole house on a single charge. This is great for a light, quick clean up.

Lightweight Vacuum with some serious suction power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark is a vacuum brand I am very familiar with. I’ve owned about 3-4 different vacuums from them and always been pleased with the quality versus the price point versus a Dyson vacuum. They may not look as fancy as a Dyson but they always get the job done. The newest addition to my collection, the Shark Clean & Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum & Auto-Empty System is probably the lightest vacuum I’ve ever owned with a whole lot of suction power to boot! Unboxing and setup of the vacuum was easy and straightforward. The vacuum has a white finish that resembles a higher end product like something Apple would make. The weight of the vacuum completely assembled is impressively light. It’s so light my 2-year-old toddler has no problem holding it and operating it. The vacuum comes with a storage base that also doubles as a container for the dirt you pick up and doesn’t allow it to seep back into the air you breathe. It allows you to store the vacuum easily and dispose of any waste when you hang it up. My son was memorized by watching the dirt get sucked out of the tube and magically disappear. When vacuuming there’s 3 modes Auto, Power Boost and ECO. In Auto mode the vacuum does a good job detecting between hardwood floor and carpet and varying up the intensity based on the floor type. Downstairs I mainly have all wood flooring and area rugs and it did a good job picking up pet hair off my area rugs and is overall easy to use because of the light weight of the vacuum itself. The light is a nice feature as well to see what you’re vacuuming on a hardwood floor Suction power is good on Auto or even better on the power boost mode. Battery life is sufficient to do the job around the entire first floor on one charge and having the base to charge makes it easy to never really run out of juice. 2 additional tools were given for the handheld mode a crevice tool and a dog hair tool. I used the crevice tool to try and vacuum out my car and it did a solid job but not as good as a detailer vacuum obviously. Overall, I’m impressed with this Shark vacuum. It’s by far the lightest vacuum I’ve ever owned while still being powerful enough to get the job done around the home. The ergonomics of the base and storage of the debris while charging is genius. I could vacuum with this Shark all day and never get tired which is something I probably shouldn’t tell my wife cause then she’ll expect me to vacuum all the time. I really recommend this vacuum for anyone looking for a portable option with solid battery life and suction power!

Great on hardwood flooring, short nap carpets
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Clean & Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum & Auto-Empty System, Self Cleaning Brushroll, HEPA Filtration has a lot of positives but also some negatives and it will depend on how one chooses to use it that will determine how one rates it. I decided to give it a workout so took it with me to my place of business. This is because there are hardwood floors, vinyl flooring and two different types of carpet, one with a small nap, sort of like an outside carpet, and one with a regular nap as you'd find in most carpets. First, the packaging was good so no worries about issues with shipping. The instructions were quite easy to use, always a good thing for those who aren't mechanically inclined, like me. If I can figure it out, anyone can. Now, for the negatives. The charge only lasted an hour. That's fine if you do one room at a time but if you are intending to do the whole, it may be an issue. The filter kept clogging so there was the constant having to clean it. This could indicate a problem but it could also indicate it is picking up a lot of dirt that the usual vacuum doesn't. While it worked well on the hardwood floors and the carpet with a small nap, it did not work as well on the regular carpet. Given my home is mostly hardwood floors, it is not an issue for me but it is something to consider. On to the positives. It is very lightweight. The attachments are easy to use and it can also switch to a handheld vacuum which I could hold one-handed, something I cannot do with others. It was very easy to switch between floor types and the light on the roller was helpful to see that nothing was missed under things. The foam roller insured that hair doesn't get twisted in the roller and it is a dream to empty, just put it on it's station and Whoosh, the debris is emptied into a container on the station which lets you know what that needs to be emptied. It is quite maneuverable and went under and around chairs easily. The HEPA filtration seems to work quite well. Overall, it is a good vacuum and has many plus features.

My new go-to vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yet another fine product from Shark. I’ve had several Shark vacuums. They’ve all performed great, and this one continues the tradition. I have an older rechargeable Sharp stick vac that’s still a great unit, but this new one adds some features that are very worthwhile. First, as the name says, it self-empties whenever you replace it on the docking stand. That’s a nice, but not a total game changer over my older unit. However, that function adds some extra benefits. Since it doesn’t need a large dustbin, it’s much lighter and easier to use. The suction doesn’t wane as it fills, and it’s always fully charged. Yep, the emptying cycle is a bit noisy, but it only lasts 10-15 seconds. There’s a button on the stand to turn auto-empty off if that’s somehow a problem. The vac controls are simple with just two buttons … on/off and speed choices. The speeds are normal, turbo, and eco. So far normal has done everything I need … especially since the floor rotary brush unit senses when it’s on carpet and automatically changes speed. It’s amazing how maneuverable, quick and easy it is to use while still having great suction. The light weight makes it very usable as a hand vac. It comes with both bush and crevice tool accessories. (I did find it a bit strange that only the crevice tool had a docking spot on the base.) Both can be used with or without the extension that’s used with the floor head. I found it perfect for cleaning stairs and baseboards. Initially I thought the battery in the handle was an unusual look for a vac … more like a cordless drill … but it really helps the balance when using it handheld. It also allows the battery to be removable and replaceable. It’s not inexpensive, but I think you may find that it will be your go-to, everyday vacuum. It’s attractive, well made, quick and easy, and really cleans. All this makes it easy to recommend.

Almost makes it too easy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have found that the stick vacuums are much more convenient and easy to use than traditional vacuums. The shortcomings though were kind of off putting. Usually the unit was pretty heavy and your arm would tired. There was also battery life that seemed to always fall short. And of course, emptying them could be dusty if you weren't very careful. That was the past, now the present. The Shark Clean and Empty cordless stick vacuum solves these issues. The first thing I noticed was that the unit is light compared to others I've used. Others I've used also had a trigger to turn on and off which after a while, my hand and finger would get tired. This unit is very simple, just push the power button to turn it on and off. There is a four bar battery meter that keeps you posted on how much power is in reserve. The unit is automatic so depending on conditions you will hear and feel when the brush is turned on and off. You have the option of kicking it into high gear or Eco mode with the button next to the power switch. The clear canister lets you see what you've picked up and how full it is. A bonus feature is the brush head has lights on it which do come in handy. Suction was very good picking up everything in its path. It has been used on wood floors, tile floors and carpet and it adjusted quickly to the change in flooring. Once all the vacuuming was done, simply placing the unit on the stand starts the emptying. The base unit kicks on and evacuates everything out of the handheld unit. If there is a time where you do not want it to empty, there is a "sleep" button that will pause the process. Overall, I am very pleased with the convenience and performance of the unit.

Great Vacuum with 4 dogs and easy to use!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark-Clean & Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum is great. It was beyond easy to put together. It did not take long to become fully charged, and it works amazingly well. Right out of the box, all you have to do is snap together the pieces, this is super easy to do. Once you have them together. Find a good spot in your house for the docking station, and place the stick vacuum on it for a few hours for it to become fully charged. Once it is fully charged you can begin to vacuum. It has a very neat feature where it automatically detects the area rugs in our house and the brush/suction power increase. It does have a boost option it seems to work very well. While the dust bin on the vacuum itself is not very big, all you have to do is walk over to the docking station and place it on the dock and it will empty itself out. No more getting dust on the floor, or on the rim of the trashcan when emptying the dust bin. Overall this vacuum is amazing and I'm very happy with it's performance. It's a great vacuum and easy to use.

Great With A Few Dropped Balls
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is odd for me. Normally Shark makes nothing but five star products but I dinged this one two stars for a couple of issues I find unforgivable. Don't get me wrong here, this is an excellent cordless vacuum cleaner minus a couple of issues that just stick in my craw. First the good. It's cordless and not very heavy which is a win in my book. It's very maneuverable in tight spaces and the included crevice tool makes cleaning corners and where the floor meets the wall a god send. The way it handles long dog hair by some voodoo magic of keeping to rollers clear of such obstacles is wonderful. The fact that it self empties every time you place it on the charging stand is very handy indeed. It transitions be between carpet and hardwood with ease. Basically it's a Shark and does its core function of cleaning very well, Now, the not so good. This vacuum is loud. Very loud. I have used several cordless stick. vacuums before including a few from Shark. This is the loudest by far. By a long margin. Like I can't hear someone next to me talk in nothing short of a near yell. Next is that there is nowhere on the base to put the included accessories. This means there is the opportunity to loose said accessories. Big boo on Shark for this oversight. Lastly there is a tendency for the vacuum to overheat. I was cleaning a medium sized living room in a home with two long haired dogs and after about twenty minutes the vacuum shut down and displayed a warning that the unit was over heating and needed to shut down. After ten minutes I was able to finish up the room, It has only happened the one time and it might have been a one off situation but it is enough to make me concerned it may happen again. Like I said minus the few issues it's an otherwise outstanding cordless vacuum.

Lightweight and Easy To Use Cordless Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Clean & Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum is a solid cordless vacuum cleaner that offers powerful suction, a convenient auto-empty system, a self-cleaning brush roll, HEPA filtration, and all in a lightweight design. Pros: Powerful suction: The vacuum has powerful suction that can easily pick up dirt, dust, and debris from hard floors and carpets. I had no issues with it on my vinyl and carpeted flooring. Auto-empty system: The auto-empty system is one of the most convenient features of any vacuum cleaner I’ve ever owned. After you're finished vacuuming, simply dock the vacuum in the charging station, and it will automatically empty the dustbin into the base. The base can store up to a month of dirt and debris, while also minimizing your exposure to allergens released while dumping it out. Self-cleaning brush roll: The self-cleaning brush roll prevents hair and debris from getting tangled around the brush roll, making it easy to maintain. This works fairly well with all the hair from the 2 women in my house, but expect to have to clean it occasionally as it’s not 100% self-cleaning. HEPA filtration: The HEPA filtration system captures small particles and allergens, making it great for people with allergies or asthma. I have no real way to test how effective this is, but it seems to function like other vacuums with a HEPA filter. Lightweight and easy to use: The vacuum is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it easy to clean all areas of your home, even if you’re older or have physical limitations. Long runtime: The long runtime of up to 40 minutes allowed me to vacuum my entire 1800sq ft home without any issues. Cons: Expensive: The vacuum is a more expensive vacuum cleaner than some other models on the market, but you’re paying for the auto-empty feature, which is going to be loved by many. Auto-empty base is large and takes up space: The auto-empty base is large and can take up a lot of space in your home, so be prepared for that. Can be noisy: The vacuum is louder than one of my other units, but not the loudest I’ve reviewed. Some users have reported issues with the auto-empty system not working properly: Some users have reported issues with the auto-empty system not working properly or getting clogged with certain dirt and debris. This hasn’t happened to me personally, but I’m sure it could happen.

Shark has finally done it, they've beat Dyson
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have two pomeranians and three cats and so we have a lot of fur and dander to sweep up. This comes at us both on the floor and in areas that we cannot easily reach. This new vacuum is easily able to accomplish both jobs and is an incredible piece of technology, fitting right in your hands and I really just do not know how they were able to do this. I think we are at the point where Shark is outperforming Dyson in some ways, while charging less for a comparable product. Getting a new vacuum can mean a plethora of parts, instructions and assembly. Thankfully this machine is about 95% configured, with just a couple of parts to snap into one another. You really don't even have to look at the instruction manual, but you probably should. After a few minutes of setup the unit that I had was already charged and ready to go. So off I went, first with the shorter hand carried vac sweeping up the stairs. Next was the full vacuum and there was plenty to sweep up in our main hallway, where we all walk the most. It was obvious that the vacuum was really getting a lot of hair as you can plainly see it fly up through, and into, the tube. This is fascinating to watch, but also shows you very clearly when, and if, the vacuum is not really picking up correctly, indicating a potential choke spot in the vacuum that needs to be cleared. We have an incredible amount of suction on this vacuum, and yet somehow it is still incredibly light. It's a full vacuum that is akin to picking up a stick vacuum, so it's really a major feat to be able to get that kind of suction and portability. All in all Shark has won me over. This vacuum is all you will need, save for perhaps a wet vaccum, for us pet owners. I could not be happier with it's overall ease of use, lightweight and suction power. Highly recommended!

Here Is A Good One!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have so many shark products and they have done well over the years. I love the fact that they put the handheld vacuum and floor vacuum in one! I have a small amount of carpet in my house, but my floor stay extremely dusty mainly because of the vents need cleaning. I use this vacuum throughout the upstairs, downstairs, and on the stairs leading into the basement. I mostly use the attachments on the stairs because they are carpet and a little bit harder to vacuum. Most people never think to use a vacuum to get up dirt off of your floor, but trust me, this is so much easier to use than most would think on a hard surface floor! This vacuum really gets up more dirt than your average broom when you're constantly pulling the dustpan back trying to sweep more dirt into it, but there's always a little line that you can't get. Not any longer, with this vacuum, you really don't have to worry about any dust or dirt on the floor! I really could care less about emptying out the contents of the vacuum in the garbage can, until I didn't have to do it anymore. Now I wonder why this hasn't been been on every vacuum lol. Have use the handheld part of the vacuum to clean out my vehicles. It really does have nice suction power, and it last almost as long as it takes me to vacuum both cars. My only complaint, is that it would be nice if the vacuum came with an attachment that would get in the corners in along the baseboards! Whoever comes up with an invention like that, would sell a whole Lotta vacuums!

Powerful and easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this Shark stick vacuum about a week ago. Pretty nice! Was looking for a lighter duty stick-style vacuum to supplement our main wall plug vacuum (also a Shark) and this thing is great especially for stairs and hard floor sections. Setup was pretty easy and very clear setup instructions. The battery was partially charged out of the box so it was nice to be able to test out right away. Not too heavy of a stick like some others I've used, yet quite powerful and sucks up a lot! On the first flight of carpeted stairs in our home, I was really surprised (and grossed out) how much lint, dust, and hair were in the cup. Popping it back onto the vertical white stand sucked everything right out of the stick vac and into the lower cannister in about 20 seconds or so. Really neat! Testing on hard floor sections in entry, kitchen, and bathroom were very good. I like that you can select 3 vacuum settings near the handle as well. If anything, my only criticism is that the swivel head is a little looser than I'd like, but for most areas its better that way I suppose. Very nice unit and definitely recommend (and look forward to using for years).
