Bought new rugs in Turkey. Needed a better vacuum cleaner. Tried this one because of the self empty stand. We have a cat so pet hair removal was key. Got it home charged the battery to full and started vacuuming. Battery didnt last longer than about 10 minutes. Completely ran out the battery and let it completely recharge. The battery lasts about 25 munutes now cleaning on full power. Great at pucking up cat hair. Easy clean, easy operation.

Bought this vacuum for Christmas since our Tineco was breaking down. I was going back and forth between this and a Dyson and as I am sure the Dyson is great I am beyond excited with this Shark vacuum! More importantly my wife loves it! The suction is more than enough to pick up anything we had on the floor and the transfer from hard wood to area carpets is amazing! My other vacuums would get snagged or caught up and this one just goes right over! My wife also really likes the auto empty feature! That thing is like a space vacuum! If you are in the market for a vacuum definitely get one of these and they are on sale from time to time!

Hi potential buyers - This is amazing Vaccum cleaner, exceeds expectations! I was there where you are, sitting on the fence and researching which vaccum cleaner would be best, striking a balance between cost, features, low maintenance and greater peace of mind! When I dug deeper, found that market is filled with plethora of options. I compared it with many competing Brands/products like Dyson, LG, other products from Shark, Tineco, Eureka, Black&Decker and what not. Key winners: 1) Auto Empty Suction feature - It reads like a very simple or plain thing, but thats an amazing feaure. Key USP. No matter how dense the dust is collected, as soon as you hang the vaccum on the stand, within 2 seconds suction starts and runs for approx 6 seconds emptying it and transferring the content to the container. 2) Hair management: Its ZERO hair in the roller. Zero means Zero. I have been using it for a month and never had I found any strand of hair left on the floor or around the roller. Hats off to the Shark Team for designing this roller. 3) Large Container - kept my 4 weeks worth of vaccumed & accumulated dust and dirt, long hair and was easy to empty directly in my dustbin, without touching any of the dirt. 4) Product comes with 5 Yrs warranty. <Pls read the details in Specifications/BBY website.> And cherry on the cake is BestBuy's 2 year protection plan already covering it, so its great to be their Total Tech Protection member, no extra cost to pay for product protection. In fact, I had to return a Tineco beyond return window and then I bought this one and what an amazing decision that has been proven so far. Look at the pictures to help you make the decision like I did. Please make sure whichever you buy, should have Auto Empty Feature and you'll thank me! :)

I absolutely love this vacuum!!! It has great suction, is light enough to do stairs with ease, and is powerful enough even in auto mode to do thoroughly do the job. You can hear the adjustment in corners and from wood to carpet. I vacuumed my entire downstairs, roughly 1300 sq feet, (including my furniture, rugs, and tile, and hardwood) and still had about half the battery life. The auto emptying base is AMAZING and I love the scent pod, it lets off a pleasant aroma, especially upon emptying. I think it’s worth every scent and would recommend it to anyone!!!

This is an excellent vacuum! The suction is amazing, on hard wood or carpet or tile works great on all the floors in my house. The attachments come in handy for cleaning your car or even getting cobwebs from corners. We have 4 dogs 2 are Australia shepherds, so the shed is real! This is doing a great job of keeping up. Light weight, easy to assemble and use. I do wish the battery lasted longer but I’m able to get the job done!

Honestly, I have always said that if I had my dream job, it would be to rate vacuums. I have two dogs and three cats and live in a two bedroom custom container. I like to vacuum and I do it multiple times a day because I am kind of a weirdo but all my weirdness aside. I was really excited to get this vacuum. The reason I was excited to get this vacuum was because I didn’t have to self empty the canister every time I vacuumed. I also was really excited to have a longer lasting battery. Unfortunately, I only got one of the two things that I was hoping for. The vacuum is really great, but it is now limiting me on how far I can go under furniture and also because the battery doesn’t last very long. The one thing that does work on the vacuum is a self emptying canister, which is truly one of the greatest things that they have invented. Call me lazy, that’s cool! Some things are about the convenience.

The upgraded model is sleek and maneuvers easily under coffee tables and chairs. The added light to the upgraded model is a huge bonus which makes cleaning behind appliances and dimly lit areas much easier. The only downside is that it does seem to clog easier with larger bits such as dog toy remnants.

I love Shark vacuum cleaners and this one is no different. The Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System with QuadClean Multi-Surface Brush roll is powerful handheld cordless vacuum cleaner with great suction and auto empty bin to help make your hectic life a bit less crazy. Now you don’t have to empty out the vacuum cleaner before you start vacuuming. This one does it all. The Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System automatically empties itself into the base station when you place back to charge, so you don’t have to deal with dirty bags or canisters. The canister holds up to 30 days of dust, dirt and debris that is collected by the vacuum cleaner. The canister is also equipped with an odor neutralizer to make sure that the area smells fresh and clean. The newly designed QuadClean Multi-surface brush roll is designed to clean all types of floors, including carpets, hardwood, and tiles. It also has a self-cleaning feature to help prevent hair wrap. I have been using this vacuum cleaner system for about 2 weeks now and I have yet to remove any hair from the rollers and I have three females in the house and my other vacuum cleaner roller needs to be cleaned every week. One of the main features of the Shark Cordless Detect Pro is that it features a dirt detection system. The Dirt detect senses the dirt that hides in your homes and automatically adjusts the power to meet your needs. The system can also detect when you are on carpet and on hardwood floors and adjust the roller speed and the suction based on the floortype. But don’t worry, you can also adjust the power manually as well. You have the option to choose between eco, DirtDetect, and Boost. The vacuum also has sensors built-in on the sides, so when it detects that you are cleaning an edge the vacuum automatically adjust the led lights and the suction to help suck up all that dust and dirt that hides in the corners. One of my main concerns with this vacuum cleaner was the suction. It’s much smaller and lighter compared to my other vacuum cleaners but to my surprise the size did not compromise on power. This vacuum cleaner offers the same powerful suction as a regular full sized cordless vacuum cleaner but just in a smaller package. The vacuum cleaner offers about 60-minute runtime on eco mode, but that time drops significantly when you are on Boost mode. I would say that you get about 30-to-40-minute run-time on boost mode. Pros: • Auto-empty system is convenient and saves time • QuadClean multi-surface brushroll • Powerful suction • HEPA filtration traps dust and allergens, making it a good choice for people with allergies Cons: • Feels a bit flimsy • Battery life could be better Overall, the Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System with QuadClean Multi-Surface Brushroll is a well-designed and a powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner. It offers a number of features and convenience options and benefits that make it worth the investment.

There’s not much to complain about with the performance of this vacuum. It’s extremely lightweight, it doesn’t seem to clog, it works well on hardwood floors and carpet, and the auto empty system means you don’t need to empty the dustbin for weeks. The biggest drawbacks are the cost, and where do you store it? (I've also had concerns with battery life). Assuming you have the floor space and a nearby outlet to store it and you’re willing to shell out the money it should be at the top of your list when looking at vacuums. IN THE BOX In the box you get the vacuum (the handheld part with the small dustbin, battery), the extension rod, the brush base, two attachments, an odor neutralizing “puck,” and the auto empty system base. Piecing it together is simple and only takes a few minutes. PLACEMENT OF AUTO EMPTY BASE My 8 year old Dyson stick vacuum is in my small laundry room and attached to the wall. I personally liked having it on the wall so it was out of the way. Here, you can’t really attach the Shark cordless vacuum to the wall (unless you’re willing to build a shelf that will support the weight). While the auto empty base isn’t terribly large, it wasn’t ideal for our setup to have it sitting on the floor. It takes up the limited amount of space in our laundry room. So for now, it sits in the corner of our relatively unused dining room. This isn’t ideal either. And putting it in a closet isn’t an option as we don’t have any outlets in our closets. Obviously, this issue is very specific to your house/apartment setup. But it's something you'll want to consider when considering this as an option. PERFORMANCE AS VACUUM This Shark brings plenty of power to pick up most messes. In my kitchen it's easily able to pick up food crumbs and in the living room, pet hair. It picks up most sized objects (within reason) with ease. The brush roll is a blend of foam and rubber blades that promise not to get tangled or clogged. I've yet to run into a vacuum that doesn't, at some point, get clogged with hair over time. But it's too early to tell at this point. Honestly, putting aside the advanced features this model brings, it's very similar in terms of performance from other stock vacuums on the market. Its own advantage might be the size and weight. It's very light and maneuverable. I found that the tube can get clogged when trying to vacuum more than just small crumbs on the floor. I had to clean out the tube twice since I’ve owned it, but it could be more user error as I was trying to vacuum up bigger pieces of food (like chips) that I should have. The point is, it’s not infallible to clogging - like most vacuums. But when I wasn’t vacuuming things too big for a vacuum, I was pleased with its performance, especially on deep carpets. And you know it’s working when there’s dirt/dust in the clear bin that you didn’t see on the carpet. EXTRA FEATURES With this model, you're getting the auto empty base, edge detection, odor eliminator, auto sensing (for power), lights, charging base/dock/auto empty system. Frankly it's a lot, and likely why the price is so high. But I really question the value and need for all of these features - outside the auto empty base, it's most obvious distinguishable feature Take the odor eliminator. Sounds great in theory but I could never smell any fragrance (not that I wanted to) which is what I would have expected to smell to know that it's working. I just don't know if it works and Shark now expects/wants me to buy an odor eliminator "puck" every so often. No thanks. The edge detection is another feature whereby the suction power increases when the vacuum detects the side of a wall (say when vacuuming next to your baseboards). Sounds good, and actually seems to work well - obviously when vacuuming next to a wall, there's the plastic of the vacuum itself that doesn't quite allow the brush roll to get all the way to the wall. The increased power of the side detection seems to alleviate that problem by increasing the power. There's also the auto detect function, where the vacuum picks up power depending on the amount of dirt on the ground that it detects. This is nice if for no other reason than you feel good about picking up dirt on the ground. The battery life is also superb. It goes for about 60 minutes (which is what it’s rated for) which basically means you can vacuum your whole house without having to recharge it. CONCLUSION This is a nice vacuum with a lot of bells and whistles that you don’t really need. The auto emptying bin is nice, but I never had any issues emptying the dust canisters of other stick vacuums before. I mostly like the stand because it’s a nice way to store your vacuum and charge it so it’s ready to go when you need it. The other features, like odor control and edge detection are nice, but seem a little gimmicky. If you can find a good spot for the large auto emptying base in your home, and don’t mind the cost, this is a great vacuum to consider.
