Sucks but hose gets clogged frequently and you can't unclog it. Get the warranty.

The SHARK DUOCLEAN is an incredible, small, lightweight machine! I received the DUOCLEAN via shipping. The outer and inner boxes were in perfect condition. The inner box – which was the real packaging / retail box for the DUOCLEAN was attractively printed, with lots of pictures and examples on how to use the machine. When unpacked, all items (…and there were a few…) were securely placed in their own packaging and plastic-wrapped to further protect the item. Nothing was going to move inside this box with how well it was packaged! Instructions – both Quick Setup and a more detailed owner’s manual – were right on top, so easily found. Both documents were well-written with lots of pictures and details about same. While there were quite a few pieces to assemble, all went together quickly with no broken pieces. Instructions were easy to understand. Once assembled – which took maybe 5 minutes – I put the vacuum to the test. WOW, was I impressed with the suction power of this machine. SHARK has a winner with this one! My floors were relatively clean, but this vacuum pulled 2 container’s full of dust and dirt from just my kitchen (tile) and living room area (carpeted). I was impressed! The extension arm with crevice tool were easy to use and I was able to quickly clean the track and window framing on my 3-partition glass rolling wall. It did a great job. My husband used on a couple of occasions too. It takes a lot to impress him, and he spoke very highly on the DUOCLEAN’s ability to really clean the carpet and tile areas of our home. He even cleaned the exhaust fan cover in the bathroom, and couldn’t believe how clean it was after only a couple of minutes. I’ve used the DUOCLEAN on a few occasions and each time I’ve been impressed with the amount of dirt and dust (and dog hair) that it manages to pull from the flooring. The vacuum is lightweight but does NOT lack a bit of power. I like that there is an easy to use control on the wand to adjust the amount of power/suction that it uses. Also the switch for tile or carpet is easily accessible, and it doubles as the on/off button. Overall, we LOVE this vacuum. So glad that we got it!

Very nice vacuum design in terms of cleaning ability and it was very easy to empty the dust bin which isn’t always the case with many vacuums. Those are my top two requirements. I found this to be a small but mighty vacuum. I like it as a second vacuum or your only vacuum for a smaller home or apartment. It is powerful and it is very light and it does have the lift away feature that is indispensable. Another feature is the smaller power head which I found great for under the floor cabinets in the kitchen – many vacuums won’t fit under those floor cabinets. So the relative smallness is a big plus where indeed less is more. Another feature I found great was that on either side of the power head there is a little brush that projects sideways toward your baseboard. These little brushes were very effective in cleaning those tiny dust-balls that many vacuums miss, even when you point the vacuum at the wall. So this alone was a ‘buy-this’ vacuum moment for me. It does have on-board storage for your crevice tool and small brush but it’s not really a storage compartment. The accessories do click into place and are held solid which is nice. I dislike vacuums that have the cord come out near the bottom. This vacuum has the cord come out about half way up which is better – coming out at the top of the handle would be the best design though. The D loop handle is super, you will love that feature. LED headlights are another premium feature. I do recommend this vacuum as very effective at picking up pet hair and normal dust. It is indeed quite light for its power, which makes it easier to use as a normal vacuum and in the lift-away mode.

I have have it for a week now and it has clogged up. Took 20 mins to get the clog out.

Like the bagless option but wish it was thinner and able to fit under the bed

For starters the build quality on this vacuum is crazy, I have not seen any other Shark products that have such a high standard of quality. This is a smaller width vacuum which makes it great for getting in tight spaces and easy to maneuver. It has a hard wood floor mode which is a huge time saver over sweeping, and it does a great job of cleaning. The lift away suction wand is the real showstopper here though, and when you combine that with the ability to lift the canister you have a portable cleaning machine that can go anywhere you have an outlet! I never thought being able to lift the canister and carry it would make a difference but it really does, and I have enjoyed using this vacuum very much!

There are many vacuum cleaners on the market today. Some have a small footprint which is great but does not have the cleaning power of a full upright vacuum cleaner. Most full uprights are stronger but lack the versatility to do anything other than vacuum a floor. The Shark Duo Clean Lift-Away answers the call. This is a full upright vacuum, that packs a punch. It has a swivel steering for tight hard to reach parts of the flooring and for those that like to vacuum at night has LED headlights. The vacuum comes with Lift-Away technology that has a quick release feature that is really easy to use and gives this vacuum extra functionality with stairs, furniture, and drapes. Now it's not heavy but it definitely is not small. That's what is so nice about it. It is a perfect blend of functionality that allows you to complete the job without stopping to empty a small canister. It is definitely large enough to handle the job. My wife and I are both prone to allergies from dust and cleaning. The Shark features Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology with a HEPA filter to keep all the dust and allergens locked away inside the vacuum. This vacuum is great for carpet as well as wood or vinyl flooring. It has bristle brushes for deep cleaning carpets, and soft brush roll to give woods and vinyl a really nice polished look. It also has an extender to get to those high 13-foot ceilings for spring cleaning. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality vacuum that is really versatile and a heavy duty cleaner for all home types.

Broke within warranty period. Says it’s for hard floor and carpet but I disagree. It’s better for hard floors. Not great suction on carpets and fur gets clogged and stuck everywhere

Have not really considered any vacuums since I have owned Dyson for most of my floor vacs but this device is pretty good. Has great suction and gets into all the corners and has some pretty good attachments. The suction is pretty powerful and this makes cleaning easy and you can empty the canister easily. It is about the same suction as Dyson and doesnt spit dirt back at you when you are cleaning.

The DuoClean Lift-Away Speed NV771 Upright Vacuum by Shark has the power to clean a myriad of common areas in the house. From hardwood floors to carpets, stairs, window sills, and everything else in between. So much power in fact, that there is a slider to control the amount of power that you want to use! I never thought that a vacuum would ever need such a slider to control something like suction power. On top of that, add on a removable waste bin that is easy to empty and replace (instead of using those single use waste bags), a front facing LED light for cleaning areas that are difficult to see, detachable wand to clean those hard to reach areas, and the lift-away motor to take the vacuum into areas that traditional vacuum could only dream of reaching.

I have purchased many vacuums in my life but by far this is not one of my favorites. It’s very heavy and bulky

We have owned five shark vacuums. this is hands down the worst.

Love this vacuum. My wife asks me to vacuum, and I no longer dread my back killing me after only a few rooms. It has great power in such a small and mobile package. Nice and bright LEDs to see what's in front of the vacuum too! Accessories aren't the best, but not really needed when you already have a decent hand vacuum like my wife and I do. Overall seems to be a great value!

This is my first Shark Vacuum. I usually only buy Bissell products however their vacuums do not last long /clog easy and so many other flaws. I noticed my pet lift off wasn’t suctioning as good as I was wanting especially for a pet home! I decided to research other brands and after watching a YouTube review got one! I am so amazed at this unit it blows the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off out of the water! I had just got done cleaning my house and just for giggles took this vacuum to the floors I had 10 full canisters of pet hair/dust I was grossed out at what my pet lift off from Bissell left behind! I won’t ever go back to Bissell again. This unit was also cheaper and easier to clean as the bottom and the top of the canister opens.
