The FlexStyle is a really innovative hair dryer that offers a lot of options for styling, convenience, and travel. As a guy with long hair, my main use for this is travel. It lets me bring both a blow dryer and a brush in one tool, which is perfect for me. I travel a lot for work, I hate hotel blow dryers, and I somehow always forget my brush, so this will be a huge upgrade. I did try the air curl function, but my hair is very fine and “wispy,” as my wife calls it, so I didn’t have much luck getting good curls. My wife was really interested in this feature and tried it several times too, but she didn’t get the results she was hoping for either. Her hair is extremely thick and dense, and while she could get the curls to hold, they came out more like tight ringlets, which isn’t the style she wanted. The device does require swapping the curler between left and right attachments, which can be a little confusing at first. That said, switching attachments is very easy, and the whole system is designed well. Everything twist locks into place smoothly, and it feels solid. We both love the color of this dryer, it’s a beautiful almost sapphire blue, and I can’t imagine a nicer color choice. The shape and overall feel are great too. The drying power is plenty strong for me with long, thin hair, but for my wife it wasn’t quite powerful enough. All in all, I think most people will appreciate this dryer and get the results they’re looking for. For both of us it came up a little short in the styling department, but even so, it’s become my new travel blow dryer, and for that purpose it’s basically perfect.

In my family, thick hair is the name of the game. On BOTH sides. It has its plusses and minuses. One of the minuses is the ability to style it. Without tons of concrete-level hold products most styling is lost within 3 hours. That's not a huge problem for me, but I have a 10 year old daughter who has grown increasingly frustrated by this. So we've researched and web searched and gone back and forth with stylists on how best to get her hair to behave the way she wants. One such product, or rather series of products, that'd been recommended more than once are the FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System packages offered by Shark. The dryer / multi-styling tool itself is fantastic. It can move tons of air very fast, which is often more important than the temperature of that air if you're looking to get your hair dry as quickly as possible. Full marks here. Love what it achieves, especially as such a compact unit. The curlers do work and work well, though they do take a bit more practice than I was expecting. The good news is than once you get the hang of it, the results can be fabulous (see attached image). The brush attachment, while I can confidently say it does volumize, I can't say I agree with the defrizzing claims Shark makes in their product description. Perhaps I still need some more practice with the it, but I'm finding that using it tends to result in more frizz than if I dry using a standard old hairbrush. All in all it's been real fun working with this styling system. It took some practice, but I can confidently say that it is mainly as advertised. I will reiterate, however, that if you're a member of the thick hair club, you shouldn't expect styling with this to last too long without also mixing in a ton of hair spray. That's not really Shark's problem though, I suppose.

The device works overall but has some quarks. Obviously, how well it does depends on the hair you are using it on and the user. I tested this mainly on my daughter and in summary, the curls wouldn’t stay even following the instructions to the letter, but the brush was great at adding volume to hair. Either way, it did an overall good job but results were not stellar. I am sure with a little practice results might be better. Pros: The design is very modern, sleek, and space saving. I can see the appeal with the design and 3 in 1 system which consist of the blow dryer, oval brush, and auto-wrap curlers. The blow dryer and oval brush save a lot of time and effort by cutting down the time it takes to style and blow dryer hair by at least 1/2 the time. When using the oval brush to style the hair, it creates shiny, soft, and frizz free hair, even without using styling products depending on your hair. The attachments are removed with no effort at all, just a switch of a button. The settings allow you to control the heat applied to your hair low, medium, and high, which is also the case for the air flow. Cons: The Auto-Wrap curlers are a good idea, however the execution is lacking. First, the instructions state that the hair must be 80-90% dry hair, which makes sense because it makes your hair easier to style, however the results were not as desired (see attached pictures). The curls were undefined, frizzy, and fell flat. The airflow is supposed to automatically pick up the ends of your hair which did not happen perhaps due to the air flow not being powerful enough. It just resulted in the hair blowing everywhere and making it frizzy, and definitely not curly or wavy. Also, when you wrap your hair around the wand “creating the curl”, you’re supposed to secure it, and hold the “Cool Shot” button for ten seconds to lock in your curl. Again, the idea seems pretty straightforward, however once you release the wand, the air flow blows your hair everywhere creating a frizzy, undefined, and flat curl. At first, I tried again thinking there was user error on my part, so after towel drying and blow drying my daughter’s hair, the results were the same.

Love!! It dries hair fairly quickly and the different attachments make it convenient to switch between drying, smoothing and curling. The auto wrap curlers work well once you get the hang of them, tho there is a bit of a learning curve. I like that it uses lower heat than other styling tools and my hair doesn't feel dry after using it. It's perfect!!! It's still a bit of investment, but overall it's practical option if you want one tool that can do it all instead of having multiple tools.

I have tried a few of these and really liked one... but it costs so much that I have given this one a shot. It is better for me than the other Shark option I tried. The Coanda effect is noticeably less impressive than the much more expensive one, but it does still function well! I have very long hair, so a bigger barrel would be nice, but this is functional. The hair dryer is nice, and the barrel attachment is very suitable for my hair. It is worth trying before going all in on the other pricier option.

I bought this asa gift for my wife who was cross shopping this and the Dyson Air Wrap. She said this works similarly, if not better, to that product at much less cost. Grabbed this as a Deal of the Day which made the price even lower and a no-brainer to purchase. One downside could be the lack of attachments as the next level up offers at least two more attachments but then the price for the upgrades didn't seem to make sense dollarwise.

I have really long hair and it takes forever for it to dry. This blow dryer has a lot of air pressure, so it actually dries really quickly. When I use the brush, it is nice that it has a place at the end to stabilize the brush with out me burning my fingers. It is really really loud though even for a blow dryer. It has like a high pitch whistle. I end up just using it on the second speed because the whistle isn't as loud when you go down in speed. My husband uses it and it doesn't bother him one bit at full blast. It also seems pretty sturdy when changing the angle. Since my hair is so long, I end up hold the blow dryer at the very end of the wand. I have to be careful because I end up covering the intake vent.

This tool is a game changer for multiple reasons. It saves time, space and is easy to use. In my 50+ years on this earth I have never mastered a curling iron and I felt pretty confident after my first attempt. I have shoulder length wavy hair that has a mind of its own. It included an easy to use tutorial. Thankfully I purchased it on sale, but after using, I would have paid more for it.

Wife was never a bug fan of a hair dryer. But i saw this on a doorbuster and i made the executive decision to get itnfor her. She now usues the hair dryer after she gets out of the shower like every time. She mainly usues the curler attachment for it. I know there are other attachments for it, but she likes the one with the brush.

This was a slam dunk gift for my wife. She can't stop talking about how versatile and high-quality it feels. It’s been great for her specific hair type—she has straight hair and uses this to add curls and style it effortlessly. It's rare to find a product that lives up to the hype, but this one does.

The indigo color is deep and rich, it fits well in my wife's hand, the ability to turn 90* or stay a straight is a big bonus. Serious air flow, attachments are easy to lock in and take off, Already looking at some new attachments for her particular needs, but this set definitely works well with what's in the box.

Absolutely love this! Curls my hair great. Curls last all day. I have shoulder length hair. I just couldn't justify the price of a Dyson, so i tried this and im so happy with it. Changing the curling tools from side to side couldn't be easier. Definitely recommend!

Powerful airflow without frying the hair, dries much faster than regular dryers. Temperature control is consistent, hair feels smooth instead of dry. Good weight and balance, comfortable to hold. Solid build quality, materials and details match the price.

Best hair dryer/styling tool ever. I love the long lasting curls, or if I just want gentle curls the brush is perfect. The dryer function is amazing in that I can direct it where I want the air to go and it doesn’t disrupt the already styled sections.

I bought this for my wife to open on Christmas morning. I was told she would love it by many girls. I’ve never seen her with a good one like this. I’ll know more when she opens it on Christmas and tries it out. Thank you Best Buy for making it affordable for me to buy.

Shark never disappoints! This Shark Flex-hair is easy to use with just a little patience. My hair is past the shoulder and once I got the knack of the buttons and just how much hair to grab, it was a breeze to curl and lasted 2 days.

My daughter loves this set. She took it with her to college and says nothing gets her hair ready like this set. We have purchased almost every hair system you can think of from Dyson and on.

I was going back and forth on the Dyson and the shark…shark for the win! I like the heat it gives, the hold, the easiness!! My first try went amazing and now I’m hooked on blowouts! My curls last me for days!

This heats up very fast and saves me a lot of time. I love how versatile it is and how easy it is to use for different tasks. It feels well made and works exactly as expected. Definitely a great purchase and worth the money.

The Shark FlexStyle is amazing! It dries fast, feels lightweight, and the styling attachments make it super easy to switch between smooth, straight looks and soft waves. My hair looks healthier and more polished with way less effort. Highly recommend!
