Love this hair dryer. It’s quieter than expected. Wait for it to go on sale then it’s super worth it. My hair is wavy and on the thicker side and with this hair dryer, it has cut my drying time in half. I use the brush attachment to make my hair less frizzy. I like my hair straight so it has also cut my hair straightening time in half. It’s powerful and very comparable to a Dyson plus it’s less pricey.

We really love our Shark HyperAire Blow Dryer. It is very powerful and provides a quick and quiet way to dry your hair. The concentrator does a great job of focusing the air stream while styling.

The Shark® Hyper Air with IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator and IQ Styling Brush has been very good so far for me. Just like so many, I go get my hair cut, colored, and styled every 6 weeks or so and we like our do then, but cannot then recreate it on our own. Well, this dryer with multiple attachments can help you do the do with less heat and wear and tear on your hair.
So, this product contains 2 of the 4 available attachments, that I know about, the air concentrator and the styling brush. It is recommended to first towel dry your hair and then use the air concentrator with it in that allows more airflow to start drying your hair and then you move the adjustment that makes it come out and which then targets airflow to a more specific area. I then attach the styling brush which can be used either vertically or horizontally, really like that. There are 2 other attachments, the air diffuser and the waver that are available for separate purchase. This hair dryer, based on which attachment is clicked onto the body, and make sure that you hear it "click" on because only when that is done the IQ letters on the back of the dryer will then light up to let the user know that the attachment is properly attached and operational. Each of the attachments has predetermined setting for the the airflow and temperature settings for the best results. However, one can also manually change this preset setting if they feel that some other settings would be better for them.
The unit is lightweight and easily handled by small hands. Additionally, if you use the scan bar, either on the manuals or the cardboard insert, that will get you to Shark's You Tube Videos explaining the contents, as well as, how to's on how to style one's hair. while using this machine. I did watch the videos and in fact, they had a man with short hair show both men and women with similar lengths on how to their hair, too.
In my case, I am a 62 year old and styling my hair is not my greatest strength. I prefer to have smooth hair with height at the roots and curved under at the ends, oftentimes using either curlers or those round brush "perfecter" style heated utensils to achieve those results. I do not have very curly hair so the purchasing the diffuser and putting it into the diffuser for drying does not thrill me, but i might look into buying one of those air hair wavers going forward, we will see. Bottom line, I have only used this machine a few times since receiving it because I do not wash my hair more than 2 or 3 times per week. However, I do like my "smooth" hair with slight curl at the end-it looks good and feels good. Additionally, I feel that the pricing is much better than the one made by the D company.

This product is life changing! I bought it with a lot of skepticism. My hair is very fine textured but there is a lot of it, it is also naturally extremely straight, below my shoulder blades, with almost no body. With other hair dryers it would take ages to dry out completely and I would be left with a frizzy mess, flyaways all over, and no bounce. With this product my entire head of hair was 99% dry in less than 15 minutes. There were no flyaways. This is day 3 and my hair is still smooth! There is even a little bit of bounce to it. The only appliance and product I used was this hairdryer and a bit of hairspray on my bangs. I didn't even use dry shampoo on day 2! I will need some today. The only drawback is the weight of the dryer. I know that I will adjust to it but my arms were more tired than usual in that short period of time.

This is the best blow dryer ever. Cut my drying time by more than half, leaves my hair frizz free and shiny. It's also quieter than most dryers. It is a bit heavy but since I don't have to use it as long it doesn't matter. I love it.

Let me start off with this... I own a flat iron, 1 bottle of anti-breakage hair stuff, a brush and before this... a very basic ($40) blow dryer. So, no hair model here or hair guru, by any means. My usual hair routine is wash, condition, wide tooth comb, spray hair stuff, blow dry and minor top layer flat irioning, with a bit more in the back for some random wavy hairs. My hair is not thin, but not thick like it was when I was younger, and it's down to the top of my tush. Usually it takes about... 7 or so minutes to dry it (ends still damp). I bought this to see what all the hype was about. Well, by the 2nd blow dry... I had my answer. I don't know if it's the temp and speed options (which are 3 for each, so you can do light coolish air, to full speed hot (and by hot, i mean just right) air with 1 option in between) but my hair was completely dry within 4 minutes. What really impressed me was the way my hair was AFTER it was dry. It was straighter (no attachments used, I couldn't even tell you how to use them... not a bad on Shark... I'm just basic), less frizzy, my ends were not wet or fried, and it was way less knotty compared to what my 'ok' blow dryer left me with (exact opposite). I love the angle of the blow dryer and the weight is perfect. I love that unlike my previos blow dryer, this one kicks out a wider and better dispersed amount of air... unlike the usual straight shot of super hair frying hot air. The power cord is thick, so it kind of throws you off a bit but let me tell you... it's the good kind of thick. That cord will NEVER bunch, ball, twist or knit up on you ... EVER. This makes me want to explore more Shark brand options, to bed honest. Go, splurge a little and buy this for yourself. Your hair will thank you!!

After my Dyson broke right after warranty, I was thrilled to see Shark come out with a hair dryer. I have only been buying Shark since I have had bad luck with Dyson. This dryer is amazing and the styling brush attachment leaves my hair full and sleek. The concentrator also allows you to concentrate on an area and it drys my hair super fast. No damage and the price is great!

I have only used it twice so far. It is pretty quiet. It dries quickly and I do seem to have less frizz. I am just learning how to use the attachments. It's expensive for a hair dryer but a lot cheaper than the Dyson. After using not sure I could go back to my old dryer which took forever and caused a lot of frizz.

I love this dryer. It’s very expensive, and I haven’t had it for very long, I'm reluctant to go completely gaga over it in this review—not sure if it’s the best value ever. It’s got some wonderful settings for heat and power, and I think it’s pretty kind to my hair, which was the whole point for me for spending so much on a dryer. I dry my hair often, and I want to avoid damage. The cord is substantial—rare to see such a heavy cord on this type of appliance—it’s like a vacuum cleaner cord. Which makes sense. Oh lord. All I can really say is that I don’t regret purchasing this dryer, because I felt that I could afford it. I don’t expect to have to buy another hair dryer for many years, maybe forever. (My last hair dryer was a much much cheaper Conair, and I had it for over nine years.)

Great styling dryer

I love this dryer. I have a Dyson hair dryer already and this matches it and then some. I have two daughters with long thick hair, so a second high quality dryer was on my list. I was very impressed with the performance of the attachments. The styling attachment is convenient because I can work with both hands on the dryer, and not a brush and dryer to coordinate. The attachment can rotate 360° and that helps as you move to different areas. I have used it after a shower with a wet head. Started with the prestyle attachment, got to a light dampness and the switched to the styling attachment. It takes me about 2-3 minutes and my layers are all beautifully curled under with such a quick and simple attachment. When I use my other dryer, it takes much longer and is not as well rolled under since it's a dryer pointing at a brush verses it emitting the heat and air from inside the brush. The other nice thing is that if my hair contacts the suction area, it does not go in. The mesh protects it. That mesh, however, does need to be brushed over with the cleaning tool to brush off dust that readily gets sucked up. The quality of the hair afterwards is noticeably shinier and smoother than my other dryer too.

Purchased this hair dryer to address a need for a more powerful dryer than what was being used. This fits the bill quite well. Very powerful, easy to use. Not very loud despite its power. Dries very long hair quickly.

With a price tag over $100 this places this blowdryer on the more expensive side. Its easy to use and dries my hair relatively quickly. I will say the weight is off balanced and kind of heavy for a blow dryer. Also, if your hands happen to be damp its still easy to grip. All in all it’s a good blowdryer if you’re looking to spend between $100-200

Yes, you can buy a hair dryer for $40. This one proves that there is a performance difference and my wife couldn't be happier. It's quieter and she doesn't have frizzy hair anymore.

I have 3b/3c curly hair snd was looking for a better hair dryer than my $20 one I’ve been using for years. I was tired of spending 30-40 minutes diffusing my curls. After watching several reviews comparing the Shark & Dyson hair dryers, I decided to go with the Shark because it’s for at home use and I was going to save $200+ so it just made sense. The hair dryer is easy to use, has 3 heat setting & 3 air flow settings. I like that it included 2 straightening attachments, I rately straighten my hair but if I do these attachments will come in handy. I did have to buy the diffuser attachment seperate but that didn’t bother me since the hair dryer itself was on sale. I used it for the first time this week and it only took me 15 minutes to diffuse my hair. I immediately noticed more definition in my curls and less frizz than when using my cheap hair dryer. So if you want to save some money and aren’t using it for professional use, consider the Shark Hyperair hair dryer.

I’ve only ever had cheap blow dryers so this was a big purchase for me. I’ve heard mixed reviews for the Dyson and it looked complicated. This was a better price point for me. I don’t tend to use tools, I tried the brush, but prefer the regular heads. It blow dries fast and my hair is so smooth and looks great when I’m finished. One thing to keep in mind if you have long hair like me, it does get a little heavy towards the end of the drying session and my wrists start to feel it. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase!

Awesome blow dryer. I have long thick hair and I I have long thick hair and I am able to blow dry my hair and half the time it used to take me with a regular blow dryer. I started out using the brush attachment to straighten my hair and then I switched to the flat attachment to give a direct stream of heat to sections of hair that I I was working on oh, but I found that I like using it without any of the attachments. It's easier for me to straighten my hair with a round brush and this dryer. I also found that when I use the flat attachment with a flat vented brush my dryer would overheat and turn off. I don't know if anyone else has experienced that, or if it is just my outlet. That is the only negative thing I have to say about this dryer. My hair goes to my mid-back and is thick and wavy. If I don't straighten it with the dryer and go over it with a flat iron, I will have a fluffy frizzy mess.

I wanted a better hair dryer and all the internet was telling me Dyson. I took a chance on this one at at least half the cost and am more than happy with it. I will say that it is heavier than the Dyson, but overall the performance is the same.

drying is a LITTLE better than my old regular hair dryer (maybe 5 minutes faster) - I expected super fast drying and I think that's a real stretch. When they said "FAST" drying - I was thinking...."fast".....not so much. Also and most notably, this dryer is SUPER HEAVY - I would hate to travel with this! Wow it weighs a ton. I'm keeping it because 5 mins saved is 5 minutes saved but for the $$$ its pricey - SHARK needs to work on this one - big time.
