First one I got didn't turn on. I called customer service and they told me to cut the cord and they sent me a new one a week later. I haven't used the new one yet. Seems wasteful.

The device did not work. Brand new out of the box. If I’m paying good money for high and technology and products, it needs to work. I took it as a red flag and went for the more expensive yet highly rated Dyson wrap.

I am a person who rarely ever blow dried my hair. I have fine hair, but A LOT of it! It always took way too long to dry. This has made drying my hair a little more feasible. The HyperAir IQ has some neat features. This dryer comes with two attachments. The first attachment is a styling brush. This is supposed to help brush, style, straighten and smooth all at the same time. When using this attachment I found it best to partially dry my hair first before using it. One nice feature of this attachment is its adjustability. There is a small button on the side that allows you to rotate the brush head to the desired position/angle. This attachment did indeed work as described! The only complaint I have is that it made my ends a little frizzy, like flyaways. These calmed down a little after running a brush through it and letting it settle over a few hours. I also reccomend thoroughly brushing it prior to using this attachment especially if you are like me and are prone to tangles. The other attachment is a flat styling concentrator. This has 2 different settings; one for pre styled and one for precision style. There is a slide toggle on the side to switch between the two. One setting has a wider range of airflow where the other is more directed air. This allows you to fan the air out in a more directed way for quicker drying and more direct flow for styling. The IQ in HyperAir IQ is because the hair dryer automatically changes the dryer settings to the most effective for each attachment. When you click in an attachment the IQ logo lights up on the back of the dryer and automatically adjusts heat and fan settings for the specific attachment. This dryer has 3 different heat settings and 3 different fan speed settings that can be controlled independently. This is a step up over lower end hair dryers. There is also a button for cold air to use when styling or at the end of your experience to help close your hair cuticles. This hairdryer boasts that it will not cause heat damage to the hair. I did notice even at the hottest setting that the air is much cooler than my old, cheep dryer. This makes that claim very believable! They also use ion technology. I did notice my hair was softer than ever after using this hairdryer. When I used the brush it also had more of a shine than I am used to.

    Quick Drying!

The Shark® HyperAir with IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator and IQ Styling Brush blow dryer offers very fast drying and concentrated air to really cut down on drying times. I have very long, naturally wavy hair that usually takes forever to dry. I found this blow dryer to cut down my dry time substantially. I first used the high heat & air settings with the pre-styling setting to dry the hair closest to my scalp. Then, I switched the setting to medium heat & air and used the styling setting to dry the length and ends of my hair. To finish it, I switched to the brush attachment to smooth and turn under the ends. From start to finish, my hair was dry in about 15 mins. The waves were mostly straight and I had no fly aways or static. I usually get a lot of static using my brush and current blow dryer. I like how easy it is to use and how quiet it is. My old hair dryer was so loud, I could not hear my music while using it. With this hair dryer, I can easily hear my music. The only negative I found with this blow dryer is how heavy it is. I think it is due to the very thick and heavy cord which is somewhat cumbersome. I felt my arm starting to tire holding it above my head for so long. Luckily, the dry time was lessened. Overall, I really like the speed in which it dries my hair and how soft and straight my hair gets.

I have loved using this Shark hairdryer, it has me excited to do something different with my very thick and unmanageable hair for once. I generally let my hair air dry at night after a shower and a quick towel “dry”, and then wrestle with straightening it in the morning, where I eventually give up and just tie it up for the day. It has been a never ending cycle but this Shark HyperAir has helped the situation immensely. It seems like no matter what hair dryer is used on my hair, whether that be our basic household one or the several different models used by a salon professional over the years, it always ends up taking forever to dry my hair. Even at the most powerful settings, generally about 25-30 minutes. This Shark unit, however, is able to dry my hair in 10-15 minutes tops. From being practically dripping wet to dry, I am so impressed and glad I found something that worked. I am thinking the ionized air/ negative ion generator helps with this because my hair has honestly never looked so good after using this unit, the texture is so much better. Not only does this unit do a great job with no attachments on it, but I have found the styling brush attachment works very well with my hair and what I would like my hair to look like after a blow dry. After a traditional drying, my hair definitely still needs to be straightened and probably some product to help control the frizz. However, the styling brush attachment literally takes care of about 3 steps at once and the final product is even better. My hair is nearly straight with it and is extremely smooth, no frizz or fly aways to be found. It also gets about 45-50 minutes of work done in 15 minutes. The brush attachment is that good. The concentrator attachment is also excellent for its specific use. My mom and I figured out that the concentrator attachment is better for her because she likes to use specific hair brushes while she dries and styles her hair so she loves the concentrator. As far as temperature, it seems like this unit works at just the perfect temperatures. The lowest setting is still strong enough to aid in drying, and the highest setting does a great job without burning my skin or hair. The one dislike of this unit is the lack of ergonomics. It is a good size and weight, but there are no grips or grooves to help you hold on to it. I found that it twists around in my hand sometimes, especially when using the brush attachment. However the very long power cord is an added bonus, this is by far the longest power cord I have ever seen on a hair dryer and it is very convenient. The unit itself is small enough that it does not take up much space on the countertop, and it will be very easy to travel with. Honestly it works so well I would travel with it even if it was bigger. I cannot say enough good things about this Shark Hyperair dryer, it is my new favorite product and I recommend it to anyone in need of a hair dryer or just looking to upgrade.

Wow this blow dryer is amazing! After using it, my hair is so smooth I don't need to use a straightener to finish it off. The dryer itself is very lightweight and easy to maneuver. I found it to be pretty quiet compared to others I've used, and my hair was dry noticeably quicker than my previous blow dryer. The overall look and quality is very aesthetically pleasing. I like that there are other attachments than can be purchased to do different types of styling.

This is a great dryer! A bit expensive but it dries your hair fast and leaves it smooth. The hair dryer/brush option is so good, brushing and drying at the same time cuts styling time in half. It is a bit heavy and noisy but I don't mind this. Definitely recommend.

For me, my blowout is one of the most important parts of styling my hair as a good blowout means less time using a flatiron (which means less heat) so a good hairdryer is a must. This one compares itself to the Dyson dryer right on the box so I felt comfortable forming my opinions based on my experience with the Dyson. While I wouldn't trade the Dyson for it this is definitely a formidable opponent. I was able to dry my hair in just as little time and get similar results as I get with the Dyson so that's definitely a plus. The brush attachment is great in theory and will be perfect for some hair types but I wasn't impressed with it for my natural textured hair. Otherwise this is a good option for a quality hair dryer with features that are healthier for the hair than some other dryers on the market.

So, I am a black woman with 4c, what they would describe as “coily” hair in the instructions when you read the attachment descriptions. It gives off really great heat, 3 setting and a fan option as well. I do not feel my hair would be damaged by the heat which is very important for me. But for me using the concentrator was a better option that I’m not used to so much. I was very interested in the styling brush and that’s what I’m used to using, a similar attachment to that but for my hair type the bristles were just was not firm enough. This would probably be best for people with maybe a thinner/finer hair texture. It just didn’t get/grab my roots like I needed. I also feel it is pretty heavy and with the extra work I feel I had to put in to really be able to review this for my hair texture or just was not comfortable to me to hold in hand. I think the design could be more ergonomic. I do think this is a great product with potential, but it just did not work for my hair texture and women and men with more textured hair. I am interested in their additional attachments particularly the styling diffuser for curls that I might consider getting.

As someone with average, mostly straight hair, I thought most hair dryers were about the same. Now that I have a teenage daughter with the absolute thickest hair imaginable, I've realized that isn't the case. Prior to trying the HyperAir, it could take my daughter an hour or more to style her hair. I'm amazed at how quickly she can dry and style using the Shark HyperAIR. In the box is the HyperAIR dryer, IQ 2 in 1 concentrator attachment, and the styling brush attachment. The cord is a decent length, ~10 ft, so you aren't limited to right next to the plug. The HyperAir options are as expected, there are multiple settings for both airflow and heat. One unique feature is that there is an IQ light that comes on when an attachment is connected. The hair dryer will auto-select both temperature and airflow settings based on which attachment you put on. The concentrator has two settings, use the pre-style for an overall wide air flow and then the precision setting for smoothing and finishing. Both nozzles spin for any angle, since I'm left handed this is nice so I can use it both for myself and to do my daughter's hair without having to hold it at any weird angles. I can then use the styling brush on low to straighten my daughter's wavy hair. Overall, this dryer heats fast, the attachments eliminate the need to dry then straighten/style, and has the most versatility of any hair dryer I have tried so far. Highly recommended!

Great dryer that works quick and doesn’t damage hair. Controlled airflow is really well designed and makes it easier to work on specific areas at a time. I’d give it 5 stars except that it is heavier than I expected and might be harder for some people to use.
