An Honest Look at the Shark Matrix 2-in-1
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several robot vacuums over the last decade and I've seen the technology go from the original bump and turn to something different. Now we have full LiDAR navigation, mopping, and self-emptying with the Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Vacuum & Mop. I've spent time testing the vacuuming, mopping, navigation, and software and I've come to a clear conclusion. - Design - Unboxing the Shark Matrix 2-in-1 is pretty straightforward. You get the robot, the bagless self-emptying base, a snap on side brush, and the mopping pad attachment with an extra pad. The robot and the base are made of a standard glossy black plastic that feels durable. You plug in the base unit, peel off a bunch of stickers, attach the side brush, attach the vacuum dust intake and line the robot up with the base unit. This process was fairly simple and the 2-in-1 Matrix seems sturdy and well designed. - Setup - I downloaded the app, named my robot, and on the second try it found my 2.4GHz network I have reserved for my devices. I stepped through the setup process in approximately 5 minutes. I cleared out my living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway so that I could begin mapping. It says it's going to take about 45 minutes but the LiDAR mapping run was impressively fast. This is where I had a little bit of trouble. You manually mark the carpeted areas (I have two small rugs in the kitchen.) Then, the robot goes to verify the carpet areas. You have to physically watch the robot go to the edge of the carpet areas to check accuracy. I tried twice and it missed both times. This is tedious and seems a bit antiquated. I finally got it close enough and setup was complete. - Specs & Features - Navigation - LiDAR Base - Self Emptying & Bagless, 30 day capacity (per Shark) Noise - I measured about 65 - 75 dB from vacuuming to self-emptying Carpet Sensors - None (manual) App Features - Room Select, No Go Zones, Spot Cleaning - Performance - Vacuum Performance was very good. You have 3 settings to choose from and I chose the max vacuum. The suction power is great and it picked up everything from pet hair to crumbs to small dog food kibbles. The LiDAR guided grid pattern is efficient and accurate and it did not miss a spot. It even went under my couch which was a nice surprise. The bagless feature is where the vacuum transfers dust and debris from its bin to the base unit. You can then easily remove the base unit bin and empty it. I also like to check the vacuum dust bin and dust filters to make sure it's completely empty. Mopping performance was great for my needs but it's probably not going to help you with a deep scrub. You attach the mop pad, fill up the reservoir with water and top it off with a cleaning solution provided. I was a little nervous that it was mopping right after vacuuming but it knows what it's doing and seemed to only be mopping freshly vacuumed floors. There's a light movement back and forth as it mops. It had the floors looking so good that my wife asked me to setup operation on her phone when I was done. I have a toddler that makes an absolute mess in the dining room, and two dogs that leave muddy footprints in the hallway leading to the back door. It managed to clean all of this up, no problems. It did hit a couple edges on my carpets in the kitchen so I'll need to go back and re-verify these carpet areas that I previously added to the map. The LiDAR mapping is excellent. The robot knows where to clean and follows the map with precision. You will have to remove everything from your floors because there is no obstacle avoidance. I placed all of my chairs on the table because it was slowing down around each chair and table leg. It will also occasionally bump into a wall, but it looks like it's verifying its position on the map, or the placement of walls and furniture. The noise level in my opinion is fairly high during normal operation, and even louder when it empties debris at the base station. If you have kids, they won't sleep through a vacuum/mop session unless you close the room doors. I would advise this when operating because occasionally the vacuum tried to enter a room that I hadn't mapped. Battery life is great. I was able to vacuum and mop for approximately 60 minutes with plenty of charge. It's rated for 110 minutes of battery so that will probably cover a good 1500 to 2000 sq feet. If it does get low on battery it's smart enough to go back to the base. The App interface is intuitive and functions well, but feels a little sluggish at times. I believe there should also be an option to add a room to an existing map rather than having to re-explore the entire area. It does provide essential information and feedback regarding the vacuum/mop. - Pros/Cons - *Pros* - Excellent Vacuum - LiDAR mapping is quick and accurate - Extra mop pad is a welcome addition (allows you to wash one and continue to mop) - Connection is strong (no disconnects) - Spot cleaning is convenient - Suggestions/Needs Improvement - - Mop should have more strength/friction for deep scrubs - Adding carpet zones and verification is tedious and needs improvement - Need an option to add individual rooms to existing maps - It would be nice to have obstacle avoidance - No Mop lift for carpeted rooms (manual removal) The vacuum is great; the mop is functional, and good for low to moderate cleaning. I have kids everywhere so it does require about 20 minutes of organizing the room before use. I do believe there are some substantial areas for improvement to make this unit much better that I've listed in Pros/Cons. It works great for my house where the downstairs is mostly hardwoods and I would recommend it for those with similar layouts and low to moderate floor traffic.

Actually Worth It for Daily Maintenance!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop Review: Does It Actually Make Life Easier? I’ve been testing the Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop for over a week to see if it’s a real time-saver or just another gadget that ends up in the closet. Here’s my honest experience. Setup (Super Easy – About 10 Minutes) It arrives in two boxes: one for the self-emptying base and one for the robot. Assembly is straightforward—just follow the quick-start guide. You’ll need to download the SharkClean app, connect to Wi-Fi, and give your robot a name. On its first run, it mapped my home surprisingly well. The 1500 sq feet layout was accurately captured, and the app is intuitive for labeling rooms, setting no-go zones, or marking carpet areas. Tip: Watch out for doormats or loose cables (phone chargers, etc.)—mine got tangled on a front-door mat more than once. Vacuuming Performance It does a solid job on my hardwood floors, ceramic tiled floors and low-pile rugs. The app shows exactly where it cleaned, which is helpful for spotting missed areas. On one run it skipped the living room entirely because it got stuck on the doormat and the battery died before it could recover. When it does finish a job, the dust bin has a respectable amount of dust and hair—even though my floors don’t look particularly dirty. It won’t match the level of cleanliness of pushing my central vacuum myself, but it’s not far off and the convenience is huge. Mopping Performance Switching to mop mode is simple: snap on one of the two included reusable pads and fill the tank. (Note: the instructions don’t specify the solution-to-water ratio—I went with roughly 25% Shark cleaning solution and 75% water.) It scrubs lightly and leaves floors looking refreshed and streak-free on lightly soiled surfaces. Because the robot is so light, it’s not going to tackle stuck-on messes like a traditional mop would, and the pad doesn’t self-clean during the cycle—it just keeps wiping with the same damp pad. For daily or every-few-days maintenance on relatively clean floors, it works great. For truly dirty floors, you’ll still need to break out the real mop occasionally. For example, next to the stove, we cook everyday, occasionally it can feel greasy. I’m not sure if the Shark would be able to handle that. Overall Verdict I genuinely like it. I now have it scheduled to run every Wednesday (the day I’m in the office) in the basement, where it effortlessly keeps hair and dust under control. For light daily/weekly upkeep—especially in homes without heavy spills or mud—it’s a real time-saver. If you want an even more hands-off experience, Shark makes a higher-end model (AV2810ZEWH) with a 30-day clean-water tank and a base that washes and dries the mopping pad automatically. Bottom line: Recommended for anyone who wants “good enough” cleaning with almost zero effort. It’s become a quiet little helper I didn’t know I needed.

Vacuums well, Navigation Ok
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark continuous to improve on each generation of their robotic vacuums. I have several of their robotic vacuums and this is the first of their brand I've had that mops. Unlike other brands, it does not have a water reservoir in the base. One side of the base is a large washable filter, and the other is the dust bin. The dust bin is open and does not use a replaceable dust bag. I like this in the fact that you will not have to buy any additional bags in the future. There is one small replaceable dust filter in the vacuum itself that will need replaced periodically. Setup is easy and the instructions are well written. You just need to remove the protective wrapping, attach the vacuum side brush, install the dust bin / mop water tray and set on the base to charge. You will need to connect to Wi-Fi in order to use with the mobile application. Once charged, it will prompt to run an initial mapping of your floor space. You can setup rooms and any locations to exclude. No additional steps are needed for vacuum only use. To mop, you just attach the mop attachment that just easily clicks to attach. The mop pads are washable, and it comes with two. Next, you will need to fill up the reservoir with either mop cleaning fluid or you can use plain water. It includes one small bottle of cleaning fluid that gave me two full cleanings. More can be ordered from Shark's website at a reasonable price for 2-liter bottles. Plain water works well for daily use. You will have to remove the dust bin to fill up with fluid and there is small plug to open to fill up. I wish you could fill it without removing the bin completely, but it is not too much of an effort. The unit vacuums and mops at the same time so there is not a need to vacuum before mopping. You can set to operate in either low (quiet mode), normal or maximum power for heavy duty cleaning. Normal works well and is not too loud. On an initial cleaning run it goes around the outside of your rooms first and does a lot of bumping into things so you will need to keep your area fairly open and tidy. Once it gets the perimeter of the rooms, it than does a good job of going back and forth in even paths to get the entire floor. I mainly have hardwood floors, and it does a great job in mop mode. You can easily change to vacuum only but will have to remove the mop attachment to vacuum only. One issues I've had, is it has hard time automatically parking itself back on the base to empty and charge. This may be due to a slight unevenness of the floor, and I was able to solve with slightly elevating the front of the base with some cardboard. Overall, Shark is a great robotic vacuum option for the price and advanced options.

Little Helper Steve McClean!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the years I have tested out many robot vacuum cleaners, and my Shark has been my favorite. The Matrix 2 in 1(Steve McClean) does an amazing job on both carpets and hard floors, picking up everyday dust, and crumbs left behind by my little ones and mopping as well and one the cleaning is done back to the base to empty out the bin. Let’s go over what the Matrix has to offer. Unboxing and Setup: Specs: Height: 12.99 inches Length: 21.4 inches Width 14.96 inches Robot Weight: 15.81 pounds Battery: 2900 milliampere hours Bin Capacity: 0.06 gallons - Bagless Setting up the Matrix is as simple as it gets. Pretty much everything is already put together on this robot vac and mop, the only thing you must do is attach the corner brush and the mopping attachment. This robot vacuum can be used without the mop by simply removing the mop attachment. Once the base is put together, charge your robot, connect to WIFI and let the robot do its job mapping out the area. The Matrix uses a 360-degree lidar system to map and navigate the area, so it’s pretty accurate. Performance: This thing has serious suction power — it picks up everything from dust bunnies and cereal crumbs in a very neat and hence the name “Matrix” pattern. The robot has three levels of suction, but I have always kept mine on “Max” just because I wanted the robot to pickup everything off the floor. Once it’s done, its empties out its bin at the base station which can hold up to 30 days’ worth, but I would not recommend waiting that long because mine was almost full in about 2 weeks. The robot also features a sonic mopping option. This is not a substitute for regular mopping, but it helps maintain cleanliness between sessions. While the sonic mop struggles with stubborn stains, it easily handles lighter cleaning tasks. The clean water tank must be filled by hand, and since there's no mop cleaning station, the mop pad also requires regular replacement. Battery Life: The battery life on the Matrix is not bad at all. I have about 900 sq ft on the main floor and the robot was able to vacuum the whole first floor without having to recharge. Overall, for the price point and features this is not a bad 2-in-1 robot vac and mop at all. Yes, this unit is not completely hands free and does require some work, but this little helper will help maintain the cleanliness of your home by picking up what your little ones leave behind.

Not Quite a Set-and-Forget Mopper
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this robotic vacuum does a good job cleaning and mopping however it does require some additional monitoring and effort than the top of the line models. To do any mopping the mop pad and mopping solution have to be installed in the vacuum. The robot does not raise up the mopping pad so you have to create carpet zones that are skipped when you mop. While none of this is that difficult it does add a level of complexity to the set-and-forget operation that most people look for in a robot vacuum. Pros: - Simple to use App with mapping capabilities - Base station is bagless and has a large dust bin - Consistent mopping without leaving puddles - Rarely gets lost or stuck anywhere - Auto detects when mopping solution and pad are installed - Good battery life Cons: - Noisier than my other Shark robots - Mopping attachment and mopping solution have to be installed each time - Does not raise mopping pad when going over carpet - Robot holds about 12 oz of cleaning solution so large areas may require additional cleaning solution to be added manually during the session. Setup and Use: Shark robots are easy to setup using Shark’s app on your phone. Once you have the vacuum parked on its base and fully charged you send it out to map out the rooms. With that completed the app ask you to name the rooms and build out any areas that should be skipped or avoided. With the area fully documented and mapped out you can use the app to start your vacuum session or you can use the button on the robot itself. The robot uses back and forth row style cleaning and it does a good job of covering the entire area. To mop an area you have to remove the dust bin from the robot and add the included mopping pad and solution. Note that the robot holds about 12 oz of cleaning solution. I have found that it runs out of solution about the same time the battery needs to be recharged so if you are looking to do a very large area be prepared to have to refill the cleaning solution during the recharge period. App: The Shark Clean app is fairly easy to navigate and does a good job of showing the maps created by the robot. You can schedule cleaning sessions, choose where to clean as well as the intensity of the cleaning.

Home Cleaning Made Simple
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Impressions: Sleek, Smart, and Surprisingly Thoughtful Robotic vacuums aren’t just futuristic gadgets anymore—they’ve become everyday essentials. The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is a perfect example of how far this tech has come. From the moment you open the box, it’s clear this isn’t just another robot vacuum. The glossy black finish looks sharp in any home, and the accessories (including a mop solution right out of the box) show that Shark really thought about the details. The base station is a standout—it can hold up to 30 days of dirt before you need to empty it. For anyone juggling a busy schedule, that’s a huge win. It also charges the robot quite fast. Smarts That Actually Work One of the most impressive features is its mapping system. Sure, it takes a little time to learn your space at first, but once it does, the navigation feels precise and reliable. Move a chair or rearrange furniture? No problem—the Shark Matrix updates its map in real time and keeps cleaning without missing a beat. That adaptability makes it feel genuinely intelligent compared to older models that often got confused (or stuck in tight spaces). Cleaning Power: Vacuum + Mop Combo When it comes to suction, this thing is a beast. Most messes are gone in a single pass, which saves time and energy. The mop function is more about maintenance than deep scrubbing—it won’t replace a traditional mop for heavy-duty jobs, but for everyday upkeep, it’s fantastic. Being able to vacuum and mop at the same time is a real time-saver, especially in homes with kids, pets, or lots of foot traffic. Control at Your Fingertips The companion app is another highlight. It’s clean, easy to use, and packed with options. You can schedule cleanings, set specific zones, or check your cleaning history—all from your phone. It makes the Shark Matrix feel less like a gadget and more like a smart home system that fits seamlessly into your routine. Value: Premium Features Without the Premium Price For everything it offers—powerful suction, smart mapping, dual cleaning modes, and a self-emptying base—the Shark Matrix delivers excellent value. The 30-day dirt capacity is especially appealing for anyone who wants a low-maintenance solution. While actual capacity depends on your home, the convenience factor is undeniable. Final Verdict The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop isn’t just a cleaning tool—it’s a lifestyle upgrade. It adapts to your home, saves you time, and makes daily upkeep effortless. If you’re looking to simplify your cleaning routine without sacrificing performance, this is a smart investment that pays off in both convenience and peace of mind. In short: It’s sleek, powerful, and genuinely helpful—exactly what a modern home needs.

Huungry little Hipflow.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Dusty Flo's" is my new best friend. I absolutely adore having a robot vacuum at my disposal. I've been blessed to be able to use these appliances for few years, now. nd this Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop fits right in with my needs. It's not priced as nearly as high as the high-end vacuums that it competes against, whitch gives it that much more of an advantage over those.other ones out there. The Shark Matrix is compact. in comparison to the othhers, yet it still has a powerful engine and get's the job done in my apartment , from my bedroom all the way to my personal gym. There is a mophead pad that can clean your hard wood floors and even tile flooring. You may already know that tile floors requires a special solution to be used so that the tile's adhesive doesn't weaken. These vacuums come with that solution inside the biiox to get you started. You don't need much. So just add water and you're good for a couple of cleanings, depending on the size of your space. It comes with a trach bin, per se, to allow it to clean itself out after every session. I have used smaller, more affordable robots. And yes. they are good for smaller spaces. This one will get you whole floor, even if it means charging and coming back for more. It's very easy to set up. Just have your Wifi info at the ready. Give it a cool namein the app and you're off to the races. Build a map. edit the locations and set your cleaning frequency and you really don't have much to worry about, except(C'mon. You knew this was coming.)Make sure you have everything up off the floors. This thing will try to truck over everything in it's path. So after building your barriers, remember to keep things in their place, or else your little monster truck is gonna have you picking it and getting it out of trouble like a toddler who's new to the crawl game. Thatlittle issue aside. i think you'll find yourself very pleased with this machine. Happy holidays.

Amazing suction and fantastic app!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Matrix is without a doubt the best robot vacuum I’ve ever owned. I’ve gone through five or six robot vacuums over the years, and my previous favorite was also a Shark. One of the things that makes this vacuum so great is how easy the setup is through the app. Shark has done a fantastic job with their software, and it would be really hard to mess up the initial setup with how well they guide you through it. I’ve had other robot vacuums where setup turns into a headache, trying to pair the app, find a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, and troubleshoot random connection issues. This one set up in minutes, and just like my last Shark, I had zero problems. There’s something remarkable about how maneuverable this vacuum is, because it really can get into tight spaces. I caught it behind my toilet the other day, and my first thought was, “Do I really want it going behind my toilet?” Then my second thought was, “Wow, I can’t believe it even found a way back there.” The mapping on this vacuum is also impressive. It completed a full home map in a single run, which is kind of wild. I’ve had robot vacuums in the past that needed five to ten runs before they could map a house correctly, and this one nailed it the first try. We’re in the middle of moving, so the floors have been covered in boxes, tools, and random clutter, and it still identified everything and worked around it. Once your home is mapped, you can label each room and send the vacuum to a specific area, or just run a full-house clean. The mop feature is fantastic for light mopping and does a solid job even on our tile floors. It doesn’t really get down into the grout since we have large tiles, but if you have LVP or smoother flooring, you’re probably going to love the mopping function. It takes about an hour and forty-five minutes to do a full clean of my downstairs, which is close to 2,000 square feet. Since we’re moving, it’s been really nice to head over to the new place at night and remote-start the vacuum so we’re not walking into dust and debris the next day. Overall, this is a remarkable robot vacuum, and the self-emptying debris base is a must in my opinion. I’ve owned models without that feature, and once you’ve had a self-emptying base, it’s a totally different experience. I also love that this base is bagless. Not having to keep up with buying replacement bags makes a big difference over time.

Powerful Cleaning with Smart Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop great overall. Setup was quick once the initial hiccups were resolved—the app was a little glitchy at first, giving a loop of account lock errors. After getting in, there were a few issues sending it out to map through the app, but once that was fixed, setup became easy and straightforward. The vacuum delivers strong suction, easily handling pet hair and debris on both carpet and hard floors. The mopping function is a nice bonus for light cleaning on tile and hardwood. The self-emptying base is a game-changer—no need to worry about daily emptying, and the 30-day capacity is convenient. Navigation is smart and efficient; it rarely gets stuck. Noise level is reasonable. Overall, this is a good product that saves me time cleaning without too much worry. One note: the mop is best for maintenance cleaning rather than deep scrubbing. Pros: -Strong suction and efficient navigation -Self-emptying base with 30-day capacity -Saves time and effort -Premium build quality Cons: -App setup was glitchy initially -Mop is for light cleaning only -small rugs can't be configured for the mop to avoid, I pick one of them up before mopping

Great vacuum - OK mopping
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 different robot vacuums at my house – one on each floor. The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is my newest addition – and it’s currently my Main Floor vacuum delivering strong vacuuming performance with light-duty mopping. However, its app experience is basic and the vacuum requires manual input to switch between functions (between mopping and vacuuming) and is the reason for less stars. VACUUM PERFORMANCE • Powerful suction: The Shark Matrix excels at picking up dirt, dust, and especially pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. Its edge-cleaning brushes are effective at reaching corners and baseboards. • Self-emptying base: HMy model include a bagless self-empty station with a 1.8L bin, eliminating disposable bags and reducing ongoing costs. • Navigation: Equipped with 360° LiDAR sensors, the robot maps rooms accurately, avoids obstacles, and adapts well to mixed environments. MOPPING • Light-duty cleaning: The mop is best suited for everyday dust and light spills. It struggles with tougher stains compared to premium competitors. • Manual module swap: To enable mopping, you must physically attach the mop module and fill the water reservoir. This means it cannot seamlessly switch between vacuuming and mopping mid-clean. This is the reason I’ll mostly be using this as a vacuum vs a mop – as it’s a pain to switch functions and I have to put water in the reservoir 3-4 times to do my entire floor. SHARK APP • Vacuum vs. Mop control: The Shark app allows you to select cleaning modes, schedule runs, and define room-specific cleaning. However, the app does not automatically detect or switch between vacuum and mop modes—you must manually swap the hardware module first. Other models I own can detect carpet vs hard floor and switch between modes automatically. That’s a BIG miss on this model. • Mapping & zones: Once the robot has mapped your home, you can use the app to assign vacuum-only or mop-enabled zones. For example, you might restrict mopping to tile or hardwood areas while keeping carpets vacuum-only. • Limitations: The app is described as basic and occasionally glitchy, lacking advanced customization found in competitors. For instance, it doesn’t refill water or clean mop pads automatically. BATTERY AND USABILITY • Runtime: The Shark Matrix offers solid battery life, enough to cover medium-to-large homes in one cycle. To that end, I have about 1200 sq ft on a floor, and it had to recharge once. • Noise levels: It runs relatively quietly compared to other robot vacuums, making it suitable for daytime cleaning. • Maintenance: Filters and mop pads require manual cleaning, and the docking station only handles dust emptying. OVERALL The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is a strong choice if vacuuming is your priority and you only need occasional light mopping. Its self-emptying base, powerful suction, and accurate mapping make it competitive at its price point. However, the Shark app’s limited functionality and the need to manually swap modules for mopping mean it’s less convenient than higher-end rivals. If your home is mostly carpet or hard floors with light messes, this robot is a cost-effective solution (especially with the HUGE BLACK FRIDAY discount). If you need advanced mopping automation, you may want to explore premium alternatives.

Gets the job done well
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this vacuum. It can be a little unorthodox on it’s route around the house but it always gets the job done well and the mopping is amazing. We have wood floors and it’s nice to have mopped floors every day. The map design in the app could be a little better because at first I didn’t let it in one of our rooms, and to later add the room you have to delete the map and remap the entire house. My only problem is if you don’t want it to mop, you have to pull the mop pad out, and it’s usually very wet and makes a mess.

Vacuums Like a Beast, Mops Like It Trying!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I just moved into a new place and put in brand-new floors, which means I’m now the kind of person who flinches when anyone walks inside with their shoes still on. I bought the **Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop with the Self-Emptying Base** to keep the floors looking sharp, and honestly, it’s like having a tiny cleaning employee who never calls in sick and works for electricity instead of a paycheck. **The vacuuming power is serious.** It sucks up every bit of dust, crumbs, and random debris like it’s personally offended they exist. Watching it clean is weirdly satisfying. And when it drives itself back to the base and empties on its own? Beautiful. The fact that it holds up to 30 days of dirt means I don’t have to babysit it. **The mopping feature**, on the other hand, is doing its best. It’s great for everyday shine and maintenance, but if something sticky ends up on the floor, you’re still grabbing a real mop. It’s like a friend who offers to help you move but won’t lift anything heavier than a throw pillow. The mapping is impressive, too — it learns the house fast, avoids furniture instead of slamming into it, and the app lets you control everything, from which rooms to clean to where it’s not allowed to go. **Noise level:** pretty normal while it’s cleaning, but when it empties into the base, it kicks up into mini-jet-engine mode for a few seconds. Not terrible, but it will make you look up like, *What was that?* **One thing I don’t love is the battery life.** I have about 700 square feet of space, and the vacuum usually can’t quite finish the whole job on a single charge. It has to go back to the dock, recharge, and then continue. Not the end of the world, but I wish the battery lasted longer since the space really isn’t that huge. --- ### **Pros** * Strong suction — floors look spotless when it’s done * Self-emptying system is a huge time-saver * Smart mapping and easy app control * Great for keeping new floors looking clean daily * Saves me real time so I can pretend to be productive ### **Cons** * Mopping is more light cleanup than deep scrubbing * Self-emptying noise can surprise you the first time * Struggles to finish about 700 sq ft on one charge * A bit pricey, but the convenience is worth it --- ### **Bottom Line** If you want something that **keeps your floors looking clean without you lifting a finger**, this is worth it. The vacuuming power is fantastic, the self-emptying base is a game-changer, and it’s super convenient. I just wish the battery lasted long enough to clean the whole space in one run. Still — if this little robot ever quits, I’m probably hiring a full-time butler.

Does it all! Clean floors, carpet and kitchen!

First, worth explaining the Matrix name of this model, it's in reference to the way it cleans in a check pattern, not some nod to a movie. Setup is easy and it pairs with the Shark Clean app, you can have multiple Shark Robots in your home. What makes this 2 in 1 cool is it has 2 cleaning mods, a wet mop mode and a dry mode. I was most excited to try the wet mode, especially to really clean the kitchen tiles. Setting up for mop mode involves putting on the mop pad and filling the Shark Matrix with a mix of water and cleaning fluid (Shark include some to get you started) - it's fairly straight forward to use as a mop, as you just do it in the storage/waste tank that removes and I had not drips/spells. The mop mode works well, I was grossed out by my floor and it looks much better now. The mop pad kind of virbates to give a mild scrubbing action - so it's not just dragging across the floor. This helps with the cleaning. If you have wooden floors, you can set zones, similar to other Shark Robots. So technically I could use it to mop my wooden floor and around rugs/carpets - maybe after a few more weeks use I will give it a try, I am just not confident to do that yet as my carpets tend to shift (kids playing, carpets are never in the exact same place). Beside, mostly I just want to vacuum other rooms twice a week and mop the kitchen once a month. The self emptying base means I can set it to vacuum while I am at work and really not think about. Yay! Worth knowing you can't leave it always ready to mop and vacuum. To vacuum, you have to remove the mop pad and it will vacuum away, wish you could leave the mop attachment in and smartly just switch as needed - but I guess that making things more complex and me more lazy! haha. The Shark Matrix is definitely a big upgrade on the Shark Navigator (my previous Shark Robot Vac), getting much more pet hair and dirt. It is also much smarter at navigation, having a periscope 360 LIDAR, so it didn't get all bump-jammed under the dining chairs! Overall, the Shark Matrix is a great robot vacuum and to be honest, would recommend in 10x over the Navigator series given the value of 2 in 1 and the improved cleaning/suction for pet hair.

Easy to use as robot vacuum.

There was also some packing tape but not that much. Setup time was about 20 min. Once together I downloaded the Shark Clean app. I set up an account and with the instructions provided it was easy to pair the vacuum to the app. The first step was to name it. There were suggestions like “Clean Latifah”. First step was to map the home. This took about 2 hours. Then after the map was complete. I labeled the rooms, and it prompted me to add Alexa skills, but I skipped that since I do not use Alexa. Next step it prompted me to add the mop pad and fill the reservoir with water. Then run the mop cycle. During this setup it did prompt me to mark areas to skip like for rugs or other areas I did not want it to run. This ran for a few hours while I was at work. When I returned it said it was out of water. When I added more the cycle was complete, so I started it again. After a few days of that I finally sent it on missions to different rooms. The rooms looked clean after. The mop pad did have some dirt on it so I know it was working. I just wish that when it needed water it allowed you to finish the cycle. Then I switched it to Vacuum, and it took 6 hours while I was at work and vacuumed the whole home. There is a container in the dock you can remove to dump the debris in the garbage which is nice. Also, there is a filter that is removing I am assuming allergens. The map after a cycle shows where it is cleaned like a heat map which is useful. I like the Shark vacuum/mop function, but I wish that there was less manual intervention for this price point since it is less functional to run while at work if I need to be home to change parts and fill water. They also included an additional mop pad which is nice so I can wash the current one while still cleaning with the other. I did not find it getting stuck anywhere and the consistency of cleaning was good. The app is user friendly, and you can set schedules as needed. Also, it is nice that you can place it somewhere and run a spot clean to clean just an area of the home vs the entire room. I would recommend this if someone wanted mostly vacuuming and the occasional mop or just mopping a room.

A Maid At Your Fingertip

This is something I never knew I needed but I absolutely love it. This vacuum comes with the robot vacuum, docking station, a side brush, 2 mopping pads and a 12 ounce bottle of multi floor cleaning solution for washing floors. Setting up this vacuum is very easy. You will need to make sure you have enough room on the sides and front of the docking station wherever you decide to keep it. Once you have this in a spot you like, you will need to download the SharkClean app. Then you just follow the directions for linking it to your WiFi and then have the robot map out each room in your house. The app is extremely useful in letting you set up where you want just to vacuum and also where you would like it to vacuum and wash the floors. I even set up a schedule when and where Rosie (the name I gave her) will do everything. She needs a name if you hook her up to Alexa. The app also lets you know how much of a charge is left on the robot, if you want to clean just a specific room and a few other things. I have two set schedules, one for just vacuuming carpeted rooms and one for vacuuming and mopping the hardwood and tiled floors. This is because the robot automatically senses when you have the mop attachment on the robot. I usually have Rosie vacuum certain rooms one day, and the next day I will hook up the mop attachment and have it vacuum and mop the other rooms. The suction on this robot is very good compared to another vacuum robot I had. I do have to clean the roller about every other time it vacuums to remove hair that accumulates on the roller, but I have to do that with any vacuum I have owned. I appreciate that the docking station is bagless, unlike the other robot vacuums I have had. When you need to empty the dust bin, you just have to remove it from the docking station and empty it into the garbage. Every now and then I will wash and dry it out so nothing gets stuck inside. There is no added cost for bags like other robot vacuums. So this is a real money saver!! I highly recommend this robot vacuum, for its versatility and ease of use.
