I have used dyeing vacuums for years and they are heavy and bulky. The last three I have owned have cracked after six years due to dry climate. The shark is light and nimble. I don’t have animals so I can’t judge whether they do as well with animal fur. I greatly prefer the shark to all of the dysplasia I’ve owned and I believe the suction is more then adequate. I also think it is better for my carpets which lay on hardwood floors.

Needed a new vacuum, but one that can handle hair & dirt tracked in from outside. My last Hoover one had a hard time sucking up the dirt & constantly couldn't handle the hair getting wrapped around the roller. I looked around and for the money this one is doing the job fine. Easy to put together & easy to move around. I wouldn't say it's extremly light, but lighter than the last 2 vacuums I had. Easy to clean out too.

Has alot of attachments. Very easy to handle. Picks up dog hair as promised. Very pleased with this product.

Nice vacuum, 13 lbs unreal suction, love the power brush attachment for curtains and furniture, it has lots of attachments and cool design. Moves great, has a neat suction release so You can vacuum curtains and throw rugs without sucking them into the vac. Now that is a GREAT Feature... this replace our 500 dollar Oreck and it way out preforms the oreck . BUY IT !

Overall, it performs pretty well for 2 bedroom apartment. My apartment is medium pile carpet everywhere with only hardwood floor in my kitchen and bathrooms. Pros: -Excellent suction for dirt/dust. First time running it, it made me think my apartment hadn’t been properly vacuumed in years. -Not too loud -Easy to dispense dirt and clean canister -Hose works excellent along crevices and picks up everything. Stretches well. Cons: -Not sure why but it does not pick up hair. I can vacuum and still find my hair is on the floor. -Takes a couple runs to pick up anything ranging from small rocks, fallen food, beads, etc. -The plug is really loose in the wall. I haven’t had this issue with anything else I’ve plugged in except this vacuum. -It gets difficult to push after vacuuming a couple rooms. -Only has one spot for attachments so the remaining attachments are put away. I forget about them because there isn’t a spot on the vacuum for them. It works well for me now and is okay for the price but if you are looking to get a vacuum you won’t replace for years, this is probably not it. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for pets that shed a lot since this doesn’t do well picking up a few pieces of long hair. I thought this could be a good purchase because I had Best Buy credit from previous purchases and a gift card but I should have put that to a better quality vacuum. I didn’t return it because it’s not so terrible I would return it but it is definitely a lesson learned.

Installation is very easy. Lightweight and suction power is what I am looking for.

Very lightweight, easy to move, powerful suction. Haven't learned all the bells and whistles yet, but so far very good.

This is so much better than my old one. Variable suction for different surfaces. Gets things out of my carpet and rugs really well. The wand in the handle is very useful for corners. The clear dirt collection area removes really easily to clean out. It is also light and maneuverable.

I have a yellow lab with skin issues who sheds like crazy so I have to vacuum at least once a week. I did have a bad time when I didn’t vacuum for over a month and thought I’d have to make multiple passes. Nope! One run through and I could walk around with black socks and no hair showing. Absolutely worth the money. Only wish the container was bigger.

Very high quality machine. Does everythoing so much better than expected. After buying several vacuums from discount houses we decided to go a little upscale. What a difference! For about $50.00 more this unit we bought at Best Buys runs circles around the ones we've owned previously.

I was forewarned that having insulation blown into my late mom’s very old house walls - in preparation for putting the house, a house she inherited from HER mom, on the market - would create a lot of dust, seeing as there are cracks in the walls and cracks in the ceilings everywhere. Then there’s the little matter of her not ever once having managed to keep a step ahead of her 2 little dogs, dogs that lived 15 yrs (and were, ahem, never housebroken, but that’s another story), let alone generations of unchallenged dust mites...and so on. Let’s just say my work’s cut out for me, and that whatever vacuum I chose to buy and leave in that house till it’s marked Mission Accomplished! would also be working overtime. I wouldn’t have time, I knew, to be cleaning wrapped up hair off bristles, running out to buy bags, and fighting to separate a canister vac that fought to remain with the rest of its body. My new Shark lived up to its reputation, thank goodness, right down to sucking up dust in long neglected carpets and inhaling cobwebs in hard to reach ceiling corners. As for the length of the cord, I’d have to say it’s perfect. My only complaint is that it lacks a light on it anywhere. Then again, maybe it’s best not to see what eyes are peering back at me from long neglected and very dark places the vac now so readily reaches?

It takes a while to get used to navigating this vacuum, but once you get the hang of turning, it works very well. The suction is excellent. I would like the hose to be a bit longer in order to get to ceilings. I bought this on a Deal of the Day special.
