    The Little Vacuum That Could

Pros: light, maneuverable, great suction, hard floor/carpet setting, useful attachments Cons: no headlight, relatively short and stiff hose. I’ve inherited my family’s Kirby Generation 3 that we’ve had since the late 1980’s. It’s a great vacuum and modular, but can be a gorilla to steer. We changed our floors from carpet to hardwood, tile and area rugs, so we don’t have much carpet to vacuum and that’s where the Kirby really shines. It relies on forming a partial seal with the floor surface and that quite doesn’t happen with bare floors. We’ve been getting by with a Eureka Quickup. Without having to look it up, think: Dustbuster on a stick with a handle. Suffice it to say, the Kirby got relegated to vacuuming the car floors and mats in the garage (with hose attachment). Enter the Shark Navigator Lift-Away. The Shark is lightweight, nimble, maneuverable and modular. Suction is strong and a night and difference after using my dustbuster on a stick. I really like is the namesake feature of this little guy: Lift-Away. You can detach the main body from the brush roller assembly and tote it around like a canister vacuum of sorts. Pulling the handle out from the body to have a wand for hard to reach areas is pretty standard these days, but much like other vacuums I tried that has this feature, the hose is relatively short. and stiff so you can’t wander far from the vacuum as you can with canister vacuum or even a kirby with the hose attachment installed. Getting too far will case the vacuum to tip over. I think it’s best to tote the lightweight detached vacuum body when using the hose with attachments for extended use. Even still, for a quick changing modular vacuum, I’m willing to compromise that as a trade off. Suction is more than adequate for my two story house with bare floors. I also like that there’s a brush roller speed setting for carpets (increased the velocity). Normal speed is perfect for bare floors and smaller rugs like bath mats. For larger area rugs, the extra speed in the carpet setting really agitates the pile and coaxes dust and debris out more effectively. The other minor niggle I have with the Shark Navigator Lift-Away is the lack of a headlight. l don’t see many modern vacuums with a headlight and it’s a pity that they aren’t designed with them. It’s very useful in dark nooks and crannies. Other than that, I find the Shark Navigator an overall well designed product and and absolute joy to use

The first think you’ll notice about this vacuum is its light weight. That doesn’t mean it’s of little use. Quite the contrary, it packs a punch well above its weight class. It’s easy to maneuver around furniture, walls, etc. It’s also light enough to use on stairs while still having a power brush. The brush is designed to keep treads, string, and hair from getting wound around it. In the week that I’ve had it, it appears to work exactly as designed. This is a nice feature that keeps the brushes from getting worn down too and allows the dust to move into the bagless collection chamber. The vacuum comes with some useful accessories: upholstery brush, handheld roller, and edger. The Lift Away design allows you to leave the floor power brush and carry the canister in a way that can stand up better. Even if you leave the canister on the brush base, you can easily disconnect the hose to get cobwebs or other items up high. I don’t have any pets, so I can’t answer how well this would handle constant shedding. I’d be optimistic based on the no hair on caught on the roller. It did do a nice job picking up confetti from both carpet and bare floor. Shark has put some serious thought into usability with all their vacuums and it shows. They don’t short change the suction while focusing on the user, which is why you clean. I’m very happy with this vacuum and would think strongly about Shark for whenever the need arises in the future.

I had a vacuum of this same brand from several yeas ago and its still kickin'. I never thought vacuums could improve to a point where cleaning got easier, but they have. This vacuum boils down to two areas in which i thoroughly recommend this unit. First, As i said above, i have an older version of this vacuum , which i am very impressed with. This version is akin to the older model, but significantly improved. Unboxing and assembly was a breeze as every piece which needed assembling simply "clicked" into place. I assembled it from 10 pieces in less than 5 minutes. The other main reason in which i love this vacuum is because of its features. Light weight, bagless, pet hair removing attachments are all value adds to me. Another cool touch is that you can change the setting form hardwood to carpet, there also a "shift" that allow for a smoother ride if there is too much friction. I also have a dog that sheds super short hairs, so its not always easy to see. I ran it in our living room and found that i was missing a ton of hair that the attachments were able to grab from the corners of the trim. Very impressive performance. All in all this light weight feature full vacuum is worth the mid range price tag.

The Navigator Zero M Lift is a powerful vacuum cleaner that combines the powerful suction that is suitable for both carpets and hard floors, and the light weight and easy maneuverability that you would expect from much more expensive brands like Dyson. the build quality is good, and the vacuum has 3 attachment that are sent in the package, one for hard floors, one for furniture, and one for small areas like stair steps and corners. its a bit noisier than than an older Shark model I have but the suction is definitely much much better. Shark have a new technology feature with this model which is the Zero-M which. they claimed that this tech would prevent the hair from getting stuck in the brush roll, and I have tested this feature and YES they delivered. I used to have to take my older Shark apart once a month at least to untie the hair from the brush roll, it used to be time consuming, and a dirty thing to do! not anymore. I am going to retire the Old Shark and start using this one full time. the only thing i did not love is the fact that this is a bigger size vacuum that cant be stored in a tiny space unless you take it apart. the size of the dirt bucket is decent and more than enough to clean the whole house if you do it once or twice a week. Under the dirt bucket there is a foam filer and a lint filter that need to be washed and cleaned once every 90 days per the instructions on the vacuum. the cord length is 25 feet which is more than enough. conclusion: the ZU562 is a very strong vacuum that is well built and I would recommend it to anyone who does want a good vacuum that would last for years without paying a fortune.

I am so glad I tried this little red gem. After unboxing and a quick assembly ( no tools, just snap together) I was ready to tackle my carpeted stairs. A heavy machine is no pleasure to lug around especially up and down stairs. This SHARK is light, and with a 25-foot cord length, gets around my rooms easily and effortlessly. The vac motor is super powerful, and with the small pet hair brush attachment, made small work on my carpeted stairway. Greatest features: * super powerful motor, really spins the 5-inch beater bar upholstery nozzle * easily attached small nozzle and crevice tool (with built in brush) * I'm intrigued by the yellow beater bar that somehow defies getting wound with hair * easy to empty removable dirt canister (cup) * comfortable to push around and maneuver beater bar head * three (3) position on/off/beater-bar-brush motor switch easy to see and reach from top of motor canister * large rear wheels for transporting from room to room and for vacuuming large areas * fairly thin head gets under most pieces of furniture and easily between chair legs I read on Shark's website the handle has a built in static dissipation strip, so the machine won't zap me during dry, winter months Next, out to the car to give it a little T.L.Cleaning

I've owned several Shark vacuums and I'm always impressed and ready to recommend this brand to anyone. I love that this vacuum let's you adjust the amount of suction used to maneuver easier or get a deeper clean. It's so simple to switch between hard floor and carpet, I feel like it cleaned my carpet and my tile just as well. I was amazed at the amount of pet hair this vacuum picked up in just a few minutes. This vacuum is light weight and so easy to snap together out of the box. This is a great option for someone wanting the additional tools for spot cleaning and upholstery or stairs as those items come included in the box. The small footprint of the vacuum makes it easy to store with the other cleaning items we have. The canister opens from two angles to completely empty which makes clean up a breeze. My favorite feature is the no hair wrap design. As someone with long hair, it's nice to not worry as much about tangles and poor performance. After vacuuming the apartment several times I have yet to see any hair wrapped.

This is a lightweight upright powerful vacuum for both carpet and wooden floors. The vacuum comes with two option mode controlled by a switch to change between floor mode or carpet mode. It has great suction and easy to navigate and maneuver. Setup right out of the box was a breeze. The Lift-Away mode is awesome. You can separate the main canister and carry it as you are vacuuming area like stairs or places you can't carry the entire vacuum. The dust container is pretty good size and doesn't need to be emptied very often. The brush is designed to prevent the hair, etc. from getting wrapped, which is pretty neat feature. It comes with all the necessary attachments. It is loud, but so are every other vacuum unit. The powerful motor does pick up much better. The length of the cord was perfect for me. I didn't had to keep changing my plug outlet. I never had a Shark vacuum and now I can't recommend enough to give this a chance when looking for any big name branded vacuum.

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU562

So I've been testing out the Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU562 vacuum over the last few days and must say that Shark continues to amaze me. The vacuum took all of 2 minutes to put together. Everything basically snaps and connects into place. Inside the package was the motorized floor nozzle, the vacuum pod, the wand, and the handle/hose attachment. All 4 pieces snapped together so seamlessly. Included in the box was also the attachment pieces for upholstery cleaning for like pet hair. After everything was connected I powered up the vacuum and pleasantly surprised by the suction power of the vacuum and how easy it was to use. The other good this about this particular vacuum is the fact that carpet strings and hairs don't get caught on the roller under the vacuum. Everything else was self-explanatory and I'm glad that it has a huge canister, which means less emptying for me. All in all I would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a nice quality vacuum.

This is my 2nd Shark vacuum and performs as well if not better than the first. I have a 2300 square foot house and it can take a while to vacuum each room. Having a vacuum that is lightweight is key to avoid fatigue when cleaning larger homes and that is one of this model's best features. And despite the light weight, it still has plenty of power for carpeted floors. This model was easy to navigate around corners and it was easy to empty the dust bin. The included attachments were fairly standard and will serve pretty much any purpose you need. Time will tell if this vacuum holds up over the years, but my older Shark is still running strong and I expect this one to last a good while. It seems solid and well built. I think it's a great buy at a modest price.

The Shark Navigator Lift Away is an outstanding vacuum to have. It is a traditional upright bag less vacuum with a neat feature that you can lift it off it’s base so you can get to hard to reach spaces. I particularly like to use it to vacuum my car, I can have it plugged in with it’s long 25’ to the garage outlet and lift it off it’s base and place it in my car while I vacuum all the nooks and crannies. It is also rated for pet hair which means I can get all my dogs hairs out of the furniture with ease using the include power pet brush. It also has what Shark calls a Zero-M cleaner head where it actively removes hair from wrapping up the brush. They also include a dust crevice tool and a hair removal multi-tool.

At first, I thought that it might be too light to do a good job, but I found it works great and the adjustable head was a great design. I was able to get into places that my other vacuums couldn’t reach. The hose / attachment setup is also handy and easy to use. The turbo upholstery attachment performed well and did an amazing job of picking up pet hair. The brushroll stops once the handle is put up, so it can stay in place while using the attachments without spinning on the floor. I would be comfortable with using this on hard floors as well, as the front is light and it floats on the surface. Don’t let the lightness fool you, this cleans very well and runs fairly quiet. Well done, Shark.

My previous vacuum was a Dyson Animal and I felt it did a good job. This Shark Navigator is easy to assemble and very easy to use. Having just vacuumed the house a few days earlier I wasn't expecting to pick much up with the Shark. Instead it picked up a lot of hair and dust from the carpets which was pretty impressive. Having a house of females with long hair, I could tell that this Shark was super aggressive at cleaning up and left me with confidence. I like the way it looks, and I like the way it just has an upscale vibe to it. Very clean and nice color scheme as well. This is a lightweight vacuum and navigates the floors easily and I'm so glad we have this in our home now.

We currently have a smaller, lighter weight Shark vacuum in use at home. Shark seems to make solid products that do well. We've never had issues with our Shark appliances, vacuums or otherwise, so if it ain't broke, we're not going to try to fix it. The one thing we had to do with our other vacuum is periodically use a blade to cut hair that would inevitably amass on the brushroll. Once we saw Shark made a model that self-cleans hair off the brush, we didn't need to read anything else. Just more of the same easy to use design, good power, and now with hopefully no need to manually remove hair any more. What's not to like

Really did a lot of investigating on the best vacuums out there. Owned a rechargeable Shark and it was perfect for a quick clean up. The weight of this product is only 13 1/2 # and it really makes a difference in the maneuverability. The detachable canister is a nice feature that I have used more than I thought I would. Only criticisms are short cord (I just added a good heavy duty extension cord) and it does have a rather small dust cup but it's something I can easily live with. I'm not vacuuming everyday. After using a Kirby and Kenmore for years, I made a great decision.

I love this vacuum. It excellent when picking up pet hair. I have a long haired Pomeranian that is constantly shedding. This picks up all of the hair on the floor and it easily lifts out of the canister so that I can vacuum the couch that he likes to sleep. Even when it is full it continues to suck up dirt at full power. It does not lose power like other vacuums I have used. When it is in canister mode, it is very lightweight and not a hassle at all to use. It comes with plenty of attachments too. The only downside is that the cord is a little on the short side. I might get an extension to use with this.

So, my wife was fed up with the heavy vacuums, and wanted something that would last (last vacuum lasted only ~5 months before dying on us). Shark has great reviews and decided to give it a shot and we were not disappointed for the most part - my only gripe would be the shorter hose AND cord that doesn't stretch that far. You can lift up and away the container to go upstairs and it's so light. cleans out very easily and is sturdy when standing (which we both were initially worried about)

I loved my Shark lift away from the first time I used it. I have cleaned my rugs, hardwood floors and also used the lift away option to clean rug edges and hard to reach corners and small spaces. The Shark is very powerful and cleans everything thoroughly. The dust bin is easy to remove to dispose of the dust. Cleaning the filters is also a very simple and easy job. I couldn't be happier with this product. So glad i bought it.

I have seen the advertisements and have always wanted to try one. So, one day, i bit the bullet and bought one. Took it home and OMG, it was removing carpet lint, dust, dirt, etc; I did not know was even there. So, out went my $2000 Kirby vacuum. Took it to Goodwill. Seriously, I did. Just because something cost more does not mean it is better. I learned this the hard way.

This vacuum works exactly as promised picking up small particles on wood floors and not spitting back out. On low carpets, easily pulls up pet hair. It is a little harder to push and pull on higher carpet, but still gets the job done. Lifts away from main vacuum to easily do steps and to climb on ladders to reach ceiling fans.

The most expensive vacuums get their rolling brush tangled in hair, the Zero M roller doesn't. The rest of the attachments work with carpets, furniture, hardfloors, pet hair and fabrics. I was impressed suction strength is comparable to shop vacs without the weight and size.
