Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Navigator Pet Upright Vacuum's powerful suction and ease of use, finding it lightweight and effective at removing pet hair. Many appreciate its strong performance and well-designed attachments. However, some customers note that the cord length could be longer and that the vacuum can be noisy during operation.

    Hard to Push

This is the hardest vacuum that we have ever had to push when trying to vacuum. We get all worn out before we even finish one room. We gave it a 2 star rating due to the fact it does pick up doggy hair/fur, and it does a pretty decent vacuuming job on the house.

I had the red and white Shark Professional before this one and it was so much better. This Navigator was not powerful at all, I returned it. The wheels barely move on carpet and when you push the vacuum forward and pull it back towards you, it jumps up off the ground. Too lightweight that it makes it not poweful at all and the suction for carpet was really bad. This vacuum is fine if you just plan on using the hose the entire time on hardwood floors. The only PRO is that best buy was amazing and let us return it no issues at all! We bought the Shark Vertex instead, which is the most powerful vacuum I have EVER owned!!!! its amazing, buy one!

The cord is much too short. I am not able to vacuum one complete room without moving the plug to a different outlet. Its impossible to clean the cannister. When emptied, dirt and dust remain and it is extremely messy to clean.

Have had it for a month. The brush doesn’t spin. The red light stays on all the time. It says it does this when there’s a blockage. It’s barely been used. I can’t return it because it’s over 15 days. So now I have to send it some where to be fixed at my expense. My last Shark was great but this one ugh!!

    Will not clog but....

I have a Golden Retriever so hair is all over the house. I did a top to bottom cleanup with this vacuum. Results were mostly favorable but there were a few drawbacks. First the good: It just will not clog with lots of hair. The cleaning head really looks to be self cleaning and the suction is strong enough to make sure the hoses don't clog. It is very powerful and you will get a deep clean of carpets. Cleaning the dust canister is easy since it opens at the top and bottom. No reaching in to empty both sections. All hoses click into place securely. You have the choice of using attachments on just the shorter handle or using the extended wand. There is also a suction control which comes in handy since the suction is so powerful. Now the not so good: Its a bit heavy on deeper pile carpets but the articulating head does help. When using the hand wand the base unit tends to fall over easily. The optional brush on the end of the crevice tool does not stay in place. It is supposed to click in place but it tends to fall leaving the crevice tool exposed to possible scratch surfaces. There is no light on the cleaning head. There is no automatic AC cord rewind There are three included attachments but only room to store two.

    Broke after six months

This vacuum did OK when it was operational. It was able to vacuum the rugs pretty well. However it was a lot harder to push then our older vacuum. Today the vacuum was making a loud noise so we turned it off and checked the hoses to make sure everything was clear. I turned it back on and it started to run really loud. It then shut off automatically and stopped running. Now it will not turn back on at all. We did not get the Best Buy protection plan so we have to go through the manufacturer and Best Buy told us that we will have to get it repaired instead of a new vacuum. Not very happy about this. I feel like Best Buy should replace the vacuum since it’s only been six months. Best Buy needs better return policy like Walmart or Home Depot.

    Poor quality vacuum cleaner

I bought this vacuum cleaner in Nov 2019 but we used it rarely since we left the house about a week later and returned in July 2020. Yesterday (12/12/2020), it overheated and stopped pulling vacuum. Since the instruction says, that it was likely the heat sensor was activated, we cleaned all filters but it took a few hours before it pulled vacuum again. Unfortunately, today in the morning the vacuum fan stopped again after about 5 min of cleaning. There is no visible obstruction anywhere in the air path. I will try a warranty call but in the meantime I will have to get another vacuum cleaner because we cannot live in a mess.

The only plus about this vacuum was that I could return it. Compared to our previous Shark vacuum, this was a horrible product. It functioned well, but the brushes didn't leave any marks on the carpet, showing that there was barely any suction or friction from the brushes. The old vacuum would get plenty of dust from a single use, whereas this barely picked up any. I recommend looking into other models. This one wasn't good.

Vacuum broke on the 2nd use. Contacted the Shark for the warranty (Bc it was literally a week after my return period to Best Buy) and spent most of the afternoon doing troubleshooting for them to never send the replacement or label to return. I will never purchase a Shark product again.

Unfortunately, we will be having to return this product as it seems that the brush/roller does not work when set to "carpet". I also spoke with someone who had an earlier version of this particular vacuum and said that it didn't have the suction that the previous model did. :-(
