The perfect every day hard floor cleaner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Steam Pickup 3-in-1 Hard Floor Cleaner is my new go-to for spotless floors without the fuss of harsh chemicals. This nifty gadget uses the power of steam to clean and sanitize, which is a blessing for households with kids. Let's dive into the nitty-gritty of this cleaner. The beauty of this cleaner lies in its simplicity. It uses nothing but steam to lift away grime and bacteria from hard floors, leaving them squeaky clean. No chemicals mean no residues, making it safer for kids to play on freshly cleaned surfaces. The steam also penetrates deeply into the pores of the floor, ensuring a thorough cleanse. For parents, the Shark Steam Pickup is an excellent choice. Chemical-free cleaning means fewer toxins in your home, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or exposure to harmful substances. Plus, since it sanitizes as it cleans, you can rest easy knowing that your floors are not just visually clean but also hygienically safe for the little ones. The Shark Steam Pickup 3-in-1 Hard Floor Cleaner is more than just a steam cleaner; it's a multitasking marvel. This handy device can handle both wet and dry debris, making it incredibly versatile for everyday cleaning needs. For spills and messes, the Shark Steam Pickup’s steam function comes into play. The high-temperature steam loosens and dissolves sticky spills and stains, which the roller then picks up effortlessly. This leaves your floors not just clean, but also sanitized, again, without the need for harsh chemicals. When it comes to dry debris like dust, crumbs, and pet hair, the cleaner uses its powerful suction to pick up everything in its path. The vacuum feature ensures that all dry debris is collected efficiently, leaving your floors spotless in no time. In my testing, the Shark Steam Pickup performed admirably on both tile and hardwood floors. On tile, the steam function effortlessly lifted grime from the grout lines and left the surface spotless. For hardwood floors, it was equally impressive. The steam cleaned thoroughly without damaging the wood, maintaining the integrity and finish of the floor. It picked up dust, debris, and pet hair with ease, leaving a pristine surface. Whether you’re dealing with spills on tile or dust on hardwood, this cleaner handles it all very easily, proving its versatility and efficiency in various home settings. The Shark Steam Pickup makes daily use a breeze. Its lightweight design and easy maneuverability are perfect for quick clean-ups and deep cleaning sessions alike. Not only is it user-friendly, but it's also a snap to clean and stow away. The removable parts are easy to rinse, and the compact design allows it to fit neatly in a closet or storage space. So, everyday cleaning is not just quick but also hassle-free—making it an ideal addition to any busy household. ~Pros and Cons~ Pros: ~Chemical-free cleaning: Uses only water to create steam, making it eco-friendly and safe for kids and pets. ~Convenience: Very easy to use and clean after use, making it an efficient cleaning product. ~Effective sanitation: Kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria, giving you a cleaner, healthier home. ~Versatile cleaning: Suitable for a variety of hard floors including tiles, wood, and laminate. ~Easy to use: Lightweight and maneuverable, making cleaning less of a chore. It's an excellent investment for maintaining a clean, safe home environment, especially if you have children. Despite its slightly narrow cleaning head, the benefits far outweigh this minor inconvenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their cleaning routine without introducing more chemicals into their home. Shark has carved out a solid reputation in the household cleaning world. From vacuums to steam cleaners, Shark's product line is built to last. The fact that all of my previously purchased Shark appliances are still going strong speaks volumes about their quality. Cleans great but post-mop cleanup is no fun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark did a lot of thing right and a few things wrong in its design of the Shark SteamPickup 3 in 1. The best thing about this steam mop is it takes what used to be a two-step process -- vac and then mop -- and turns it into one. And does them both jobs pretty well. That saves time and energy, something always in short supply in many households. Even better, the SteamPickup adds another bonus. It not only steam cleans your floors but now has a rotating brush to scrub them even cleaner than before, as well as and pick up big messes. It provides the elbow grease, not you. Also, it is surprisingly quiet, light and easy to manuever and has a pair of small headlights to help you see better. And the controls are pretty simple and straightforward, with three steam settings. I found it cleaned quite well, using plain old water, although the vac is not super powerful and therefore is somewhat limited in what it can pick up. Be aware the SteamPickup also leave s a little streakiness behind over when you are done, which is pretty typical of all steam mops. Still, I would count this as a pretty big win for Shark. This is a well-designed device that does exactly what it promises, which is always a good deal for the consumer. That does not mean it is perfect. The downside is what happens after you have finished mopping. There is a rather unpleasant cleaning job that must be done: Pulling apart the power head and getting rid of all that dirty water and waterlogged goopy debris you just removed from your floor. , The power head comes apart easily, at least but I am not sure I agree with Shark about how to best handle the cleanup They suggest you dump the wet soggy debris from the vac into the trash and then just rinse parts in the sink. I am not sure any sink is a good place to dump nasty stuff that used to be on the floor, even it it was allegedly sanitized by steam. And then there is the cleaning brush, which also must be removed and cleaned, which involves your hands getting up close and personal with all that floor gunk. Shark again recommends doing it in the sink. Eh, I dont think so. I took the entire mess outside and cleaned it all with a hose, which seems more appropriate. It's a bit ironic that one of Shark's selling points with the SteamPickup 3 in 1 is you "never have to wash a dirty pad again" -- standard procedure with earlier generation steam mops. That's true. But this job is worse, in my view, since there are more parts that must be cleaned and that process is much more hands on. Fortunately, the SteamPickup comes with water tight stand, that keeps all those parts you just cleaned from dripping all over the floor. And it has a special drying stand for the cleaning brush. Speaking of the brush, (which is self cleaning during steam mopping) Shark recommends you replace it every six months. The cost is unclear since this is a new product. So there is a tradeoff here: A much more capable steam mop that scrubs and vacs in exchange for a more involved cleanup process when you are done. Each consumer must decide if that is worth it given their particular situation.

Nice but might be small if you have larger spaces
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s nice, but could use improvements. Our home is predominately wood and marble tile floors, so this is handy for us. It’s nice not to have to worry about a spotless debris free floor, but given we have pets, I’m still going to run a vacuum over the floor first to get the pet hair. While it doesn’t leave a streaky mess like previous power mops I’ve tried before, it does leave a decent amount of water on the floor. Meaning, I’ve adopting the process of going over it with a microfiber flat mop so it doesn’t spot and to help dry quicker. With said floors and pets, I found that some stains took a little bit of work to remove. No surprise and it advises of these. The motorized head moves across the floor with relative ease and you’re not fighting it pushing or pulling. Pros: - Does well to clean up the floors and older, dryer messes. - Various steam settings. - The roller seems to do a good job as scrubbing without marking floors. - Water reservoir seems to last a good while. Cons: - At 9.5”, this seems painfully narrow for larger rooms. - Leaves a bit too much water on the floor. - The little lights on the head are woefully under powered. Would Like: - Add another 5-10’ of cord. - Other brush head options.
