    Disappointing suction and battery life

Bought this based on the reviews to replace my eight year-old Dyson, which had been losing battery life and suction for a while. After using this Shark about three weeks, I am convinced it has less suction than my dying Dyson. There is literally no suction power when vacuuming up to an edge or corner. You have to switch to the handheld function and use the crevice tool to get those areas. I have had to charge the battery multiple times for only 20 minutes worth of work. If the machine hadn't gotten dirty from use, I would return it.

I like this vacuum in that it’s simple and compact. It gets under furniture and hard to get to spaces. It has terrible suction on rugs and carpets.

This product is light weight and easy to use because it is cordless, but the canister is too difficult to clean annd it doesn’t have much power. Because of these reasons, it is too expensive, even with the $100.00 discount. It don’t like things that are on sale, and don't work as advertised. That is cheating.

I have an older version of Shark cordless vacuum that is similar to the new PowerPro Flex Reveal that I have used for several years. When another of my vacuums started to go out, I decided to give this one a try since I really liked my older one like it. The upgrades are mostly positive, but I do have a couple of small gripes. First, the good. The PowerPro Flex is relatively lightweight but is quite powerful for its size. I like the floor detect that automatically switches power levels when moving among different surfaces. I have multiple transitions from carpet to tile or wood and several area rugs and this machine easily changes to match the flooring. The flex mode makes it much easier to clean under couches and beds. The “headlights” are a neat feature which definitely helps you see dirt where you might otherwise miss it on hard surfaces. It is easy to maneuver and is substantially quieter than my other vacuums, even when you pull the trigger for max power. The clear dust bin makes it easy to know when it is necessary to empty the collected contents. I only use this machine on the upper floor of my home, but I can easily clean the entire thing two or three times before needing to charge the battery, so the advertised battery life is probably pretty close. Storage is a breeze as you just push the release button to fold it over on itself in the middle and it stands on its own wherever you decide to put it. I also like that the dust bin is completely removeable for easier cleaning. Overall, I really like this vacuum cleaner and it does its job remarkably well. Now for my complaints. Shark does not include a charging dock for the battery, just a brick with attached barrel plug. The charging port placement on the battery is odd as it faces the floor when the vacuum is folded for storage. That makes getting to the charging port a bit trickier than it really needs to be. The battery is removeable (and Shark recommends removing it to charge) but it will charge while still connected and since there’s no dock, that’s how I prefer to do it. Also, this unit does not come with an additional battery so if you run out of juice, you’re dead in the water for a while. Also, while I appreciate the inclusion of attachment tools, there is no easy or convenient way to store them, so I tend to forget I even have them. They are handy enough, but I don’t have a great use case for them, and they basically end up staying unused in a cabinet in the laundry room.

      Hi there,

Thank you for your honest feedback. It’s disappointing to hear that, despite the variety of tools included, the vacuum didn’t deliver the suction power needed. SharkNinja continues to amaze me with inventive ideas and the continuous release of quality housecleaning and kitchen products. They have set their own bar so high that when I have the opportunity to test drive one of their products, the expectation is it’s going to be a winner. Only twice over the years have they disappointed me. This new Shark PowerPro Flex is a versatile vacuum that is surprisingly compact, extremely easy to operate, and powerful enough to ensure it cleans well. The many features of the PowerPro become cleaning assets when the power is turned on. Prominent features include: *A fully charged battery’s run time is projected to be about an hour. This will vary, of course, depending on area size and what configuration or power mode you are using. *FloorDetect: No more manual adjusting necessary when moving from hard floor to carpet and vice/versa. A sensor immediately detects the change and adjusts suction as needed. So, you just keep on moving. *Dirt Reveal: A special light on the front left corner of the cleaner base. It assists in “seeing” dust and other tiny particulates. Yes, it does help. *”Headlights”: There is another visual assist feature that is also immensely helpful. Across the front of the vacuum unit is a string of LED lights that are an enormous help in dimly lit areas. I tried them in a darkened room and found they provided enough light to see and vacuum the room, one small area at a time, of course. *Flexible wand: The wand usage can vary according to whatever area you need to clean, high or low. Aside from the attachments included to assist you, there is one feature that I find especially helpful! It is the ability to push a tab on the wand and bend it in a way that you can clean under beds, tables, etc. without having to bend down or get down on the floor. *Hand vac cleaning: For those jobs where you need a hand vac, easily remove the wand from the upper unit, attach a brush or the crevice device, and you’re all set to vacuum. I have had a couple of Shark hand vacs for several years and they still function fairly well. However, the hand vac feature on the Flex is an entirely new and positive experience. * Cleaning the vac: When you have finished cleaning, the dust cup can easily be detached from the wand and emptied without you having to touch the dust or whatever might have been picked up. Plus, the brushroll is self-cleaning, so no pulling hair or other fiber off the roll. As you can see, the PowerPro Flex has lots of excellent features to help you clean your house. But wait, there’s more. As a hairy friend owner, I saved my two personal favorites for the last: *Pet hair cleaning: Finding a vacuum that can actually remove pet hair from fabrics such as upholstery, bed covers, etc. has been pet peeve (no pun intended) of mine. The first time I tied the Flex in handvac mode using the included special brush, I quickly discovered I had found a vacuum cleaner that does remove pet hair. Plus, it can do so without grabbing and potentially damaging cloth or other material on which the hair is located. Yes! *Noise: In my years of exposure to vacuum cleaners I have learned they can be LOUD. This is especially true when high power settings are used. But, if you wanted to clean, you adapted to the noise as best you could. With a pet, noise is certainly a concern. When a vacuum started running, mine would quickly leave the room. The first time I used the Flex in an area near where he was snoozing, he looked up at it, but he didn’t leave. Thinking that was certainly unusual, I realized I was missing something…LOUD noise. Not sound free, of course; but comparatively, the Flex is quiet. Comfortable to the ears. Yes! The Shark PowerPro Flex is another outstanding product offered by SharkNinja! They have raised the bar on themselves again. My hairy friend and I both unconditionally recommend this versatile vacuum for your housekeeping needs.

Great and versatile daily cordless vacuum

The PowerPro Flex Reveal is not my first cordless vacuum. It replaces another Shark cordless vacuum which was my first. That prior Shark Stratos vacuum was acquired in August of 2022 and is still in service however the roller housing cracked. But that experience convinced me that a cordless vacuum can fully replace a corded vacuum. The Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal vacuum is almost half the price of Shark Statos vacuum. There are a few features that differ between these models but the lower price ProwerPro Flex Reveal doesn’t give anything up to the more costly Stratos. And that's its cleaning performance. Given a choice which I would now grab, I have to give an edge to the ProwerPro Flex Reveal. Both vacuums are about the same size but the ProwerPro Flex Reveal feels lighter. And it seems to be quieter which is always appreciated. I liked the lighting of the Stratos vacuum but the Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal is much better. On my wooden floors there is a single front light that does a great job of highlighting the floor and when you run over a rug or carpet the lighting changes and the front fully lights up. The single lighting is so effective highlighting the floor that I even turned off the kitchen overhead lighting as the vacuum alone was more effective. Other features both share is the ability to flex and get into and under places other vacuums might not. The included tools are similar and both are comparable. My house is two stories with 1,800 sq ft. My bottom floor is all wood with a few rugs. The upstairs is all carpeted. In the first run the vacuum ran a full 30 minutes. This was on the default power setting without using the boost feature. The recharge time from that run was around three hours. The runtime is not great but similar between both vacuums. I was unable to complete the whole house but it's been my experience that this initial result will likely improve a bit over time. With the lighter weight and a more comfortable handle the Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal is easier to use. One issue I do have is it won’t stand up by itself against my utility wall unless you put the vacuum in its front folded position which takes more space. The vacuum wants to roll away from the wall and fall down. I wish Shark had included a wall dock. They are a very helpful accessory for cordless vacuum storage. Finally the white color looks nice but time will tell if that is a good choice. Corded appliances really do make home care just a little easier.

    Excellent Stick Vacuum

Overall - this appears to be an excellent stick vacuum. Good suction, easy to use, automatic carpet/hard floor detection, easy to store. I've used many shark vacuums over the years and always find them to be well made with good vacuuming abilities. We have a German shepherd who sheds all over the house so we are always vacuuming up dog hair. I'm happy to say this shark power pro flex reveal is up to the task. The benefit to these battery stick vacuums is they're easy to just pick up and use without the hassle of a cord. That little bit of extra ease of use motivates more frequent vacuuming and keeps a cleaner house. And amazingly, many of these newer ones have cleaning ability approaching or equalling a full corded vacuum. Unboxing this vacuum you will find the vacuum and a few attachments as well as the power adapter and instructions. I was able to put it together within less than 5 minutes. There's no real assembly involved. I've used this vacuum on my whole house a couple of times and it works very well on carpet and hard floor. It automatically detects between the two which is really nice. There is a trigger that applies max suction if you have a particularly dirty area. I would say that on the max suction mode, it cleans as well as a corded vacuum. The normal mode is actually pretty powerful though, good enough for 99% of the time. The battery is adequate for my 2000sq foot house but I imagine using the max suction mode a lot may drain it quickly. Extras - I really like how the rollers are removable. This allows for more thorough cleaning of the machine. It doesn't wrap a lot of hair so I don't think I'll need to do it much, but its nice to know it's there. The vacuum is easy to put away, it folds in half. To empty the cup, you have to remove the top from the bottom with an unlocking button and then you can empty it with a sliding latch. It's easy to do and you can more "fully" remove the cup for better cleaning as well which is nice. Overall this makes an excellent vacuum for quick use around the house and may even be all you even need.

When I saw this, I was excited to try it out. Shark has a staple in this house hold and this has joined the fold without missing a beat. Very easy to put together and the vacuum is pretty light weight, although somewhat top heavy. At first, I wondered how to store this?!? I am not one to read the manual right away but soon enough, it dawned on me, by looking at the box, that the middle part folds down and it becomes this little compact vacuum and stores nicely in the corner or closet. After charging it up, which only took a few hours, I was ready to give it a go. Side note, while charging, the lights show you by blinking how close it is to being fully charged. Power is fantastic and the auto sensing for the type of floor works great! I thought it would have trouble on our shag rugs, but no, not even a hiccup. All the attachments come in handy for our little apartment corners and our regular home stair case. The lights are nice and auto detecting, as well. This is a fantastic addition to our cleaning closet! The dirt bin, while being on the small side for obvious reasons, detaches easily and snaps right back into place. Way to go, Shark, you have made yourself a little cleaning machine with this one!!

So far so good with this new Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal stick vacuum. The suction is great for such a small vacuum. On normal suction level, it’s picking up all the dog hair, dirt, dust, and larger solids. Having the extra elbow allows for easy access under tables, chairs, etc. It automatically senses when you move to rugs or carpet and the brush roller hits a higher speed - it works fantastic, picking up even more dog hair from our two giant pups. Battery life has been excellent, covering our whole main floor and second floor before needing a recharge. The bin holds a good bit for how small it is, but know a stick vac is not made to handle a lot in the bin and be prepared to empty it a good bit. The game changer for me is the headlight. It’s super bright and lights up the floor in bright or dark rooms so we can see everything, and I mean everything, on the floor. It’s almost like a blacklight, illuminating things I probably would have never known were there. The attachments work well, but there is no way to secure them to the vacuum for storage. This is a common theme among stick vacs, and I don’t understand why these manufacturers don’t include on board accessory storage. It seems like an easy and inexpensive feature to add. Other than that one little downer, this is a fantastic, 5 star vacuum. I’m hopeful this one lasts just like my previous shark vacuums.

We have another shark, a smaller unit, and it does so well that when the opportunity was given to get this, I did not hesitate. Our other unit is a portable vacuum and we use it for the majority of our house. It gets the pet fur up and leaves nothing behind. Sometimes it requires a pass or three, but it will always get the dirt out. Using this for the first time, it ships with a partial charge, it worked wonderfully. It will switch between surface types on its own so no need to worry about changing modes when you/re vacuuming as it does it seamlessly. It's easy as pie to get this setup and working, you can even vacuum right out of the box if you want. The setup is a breeze, then it's a matter of using it. It's large but not unwieldy or clumsily so, it stays built together overall well, with nothing coming off by mistake or such. The important thing is it holds a long, long charge, and it gets up all that pet dirt and dander off of the couch and the floor. As a pet owner it requires something on a whole new level and this is it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! #shark

Uncovering Hidden Dirt with Lights & Flex

    |
    Tech Insider Network Member
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

PROS: Dirt-Reveal Technology & LED Headlights: My favorite feature on the vacuum. This feature shines a spotlight on hidden dust and dirt so you don't miss any spots. There are also LED headlights to help with cleaning in dimly lit areas or under furniture. “FloorDetect”: The vacuum automatically senses the floor type, hardwood or carpet, and adjusts the brushroll speed without pressing a button - you can still use the turbo button. It’s incredibly seamless, but maybe a little too aggressive because it turns on carpet mode soon as you lift it off the ground. I understand why though. Self-Cleaning “PowerFins” Brushroll: I imagine this is great for pet owners. It's been great for our household full of long haired shedding humans. The vacuum is supposed to actively remove hair from the brushroll as you clean, preventing hair tangles and keeping up suction. It must be working as I haven't had any problems with long hairs getting caught or wrapping around the brushroll like my previous stick vacuum. MultiFLEX Technology: The wand can bend at a hinge built into the wand. It makes it easier to reach under furniture, beds, and other low-clearance areas. I also read the manual and found out that the folding mechanism allows the vacuum to fold for compact storage. I admit I barely use the hinge feature for vacuuming or storage. Converts to a Handheld Vacuum: The main unit detaches with a press of button to become a portable handheld vacuum. It is a bit long for a handheld, almost half of the vacuum, but it works. A plus is that it's even quieter with the brushroll and while using it as a handheld. HEPA Filtration & Anti-Allergen Complete Seal: Summary: Per shark, the vacuum captures and traps over 99.97% of dust and allergens (down to 0.3 microns) within the vacuum, preventing them from recirculating into the air. The container is like a lockbox. My previous competitor vacuum used to leak quite a bit. Above average Battery Runtime: Specifications state it offers up to 50 minutes of runtime as a handheld in standard mode. I get over 30 minutes with the brushroll and wand attachment. It's enough time for cleaning my entire two story home on a single charge. The battery is also removable for easy and eventual replacement, and recycling. OKAY AREAS Weight and Maneuverable: It's not very light but not heavy. It is maneuverable and not a chore to push, pull, and carry around the house, but there is an awkwardness to it because the dustbin portion is so long and heavier than the rest of the vacuum (mention it more below). Also, there are competitors that are lighter. I've read others praise the suction, but I'm disappointed in its horsepower. Though, it doesn't stop the vacuum from being effective on both hard floors and carpets for dust and debris. I'm guessing that the brushroll and powerfins have a lot to do with it well in spite of the average suction. CONS: Dustbin Capacity: With a capacity of around 0.2 gallons, the dustbin is on the smaller side vacuum. This means more frequent emptying, especially during larger cleaning tasks or in homes with pets. Top-Heavy Design: While generally not heavy like a corded vacuum or some older cordless vacuums, I found the vacuum to be a bit top-heavy, which can make it feel a little less balanced when standing upright or vacuuming for long periods. Limited included Attachments: Typically comes with basic attachments like a crevice tool and upholstery tool. Some customers might want more tools (like a mini-motorized tool for pet hair) that are found on other models. However, there are quite a few attachments that are sold separately. Dust Accumulation in dustbin chamber: I've read some reviewers have reported a design flaw in certain Shark models where dust can get stuck and accumulate in a small, unremovable plastic chamber inside the dustbin assembly, making it difficult to fully clean. I see a bit of that accumulation but I haven't owned long enough for it to be distracting or a problem. Battery Life Indicator (Basic): Instead of an LED with the exact battery percentage, the vacuum has a three LED indicating the battery level. It sometimes Struggles with Very Large Debris: Maybe it's the lack of power or the size of the brushroll intake area. No Charging Dock (for some models): I can't find a place to charge it that's out of the way because it's top heavy and doesn't stay on balance. For the price Shark should have included a simple plastic dock for the wall to plug in the battery or the vacuum itself to charge.

This review is on a Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Cordless Vacuum - White. I own the Shark Vertex Cordless Stick Vacuum and this has some great improvements from that model. The best part is all you have to do is press a button and the brush will easily pull out from the side. This gives you quick and easy ability to clear the brush or head of any blockages. The brush has a combination of brush and silicone called powerfins. Brushes usually end up bending over time so we will see how the silicone part does. Another improvement is the multiflex section in the middle. This allows you to maneuver under furniture without having to bend over. When it is in the bent position, you can pull one end of the tube out to clear any blockages. You can also store it in the bent position to save space. Another cool feature is the automatic floor detection mode. If you are on carpet you will get more power. When on hard floor surfaces it will change to a slower speed to save on the battery. There is a nice light on it that will turn white when on carpet and blue when on hard surfaces. This blue light makes dust and dirt on the floor really visible. Suction is great and going over pet hair on carpet only takes one swipe. It comes with some nice attachments also. One has a combination of a brush head that will slide into top position or slide down revealing just a detail corner piece. The other one is for going over furniture for pet hair. I think this is a fantastic vacuum that you should consider.

Review for Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Cordless Vacuum I’ve had and loved a number of cordless vacs over the years. I’ve also hated saying goodbye to them and throwing them away because their built-in batteries were not replaceable. So I was thrilled to find this very flexible (literally!) vac from Shark that has a removable, replaceable lithium ion battery. The Flex Reveal Cordless Vacuum comes with a number of accessories to really make it my go-to vac. First of all, it flexes in ways that show it was designed for the way people actually need to vacuum. It’s easy to unlock the main wand in order to vacuum under a couch, dresser, or bed. In the same way, it flexes 180° in order to fold up to half its size for easy carrying and storage. You can remove the floor nozzle and attach the accessories to the wand to clean baseboards or overhead. Finally, you can remove the floor nozzle and wand completely, to use the included accessories as a hand vac. Great for stairs, cleaning up a mess, or vacuuming furniture. The included upholstery brush made quick work of pet hair on my furniture. The nozzle attachment has a built in brush that can be used or moved out of the way. Since it’s attached, it can’t go missing. The floor nozzle automatically detects changes from carpet to floor (and back) and ramps up the power when on carpet. For extra tough challenges, there is a boost mode to ramp it up even further. I really like this feature for stubborn pet hair on the carpet. The floor nozzle also has two lighting modes: an array of bright white LEDs make it easy to see dirt and pet hair, but this changes to a surprisingly effective blue LED when on bare floors that really points out dirt and dust. It’s easy to empty the spacious dirt cup and the filters can be be washed and reused multiple times before needing to be replaced. Altogether, well-designed and thought out, it comes carefully packaged in recyclable cardboard and plastic bags - no styrofoam or unnecessary plastic.

Honestly, this vacuum is kind of everything you need all in one! To start, the suction force is insanely powerful. It didn't leave any crumbs, pet hair, or general waste behind. The brush is designed in a way that makes it so hair doesn't clog it up. However, if you have really long hair, you might have to go in and cut the hair out like I did, which was super easy and quick. Also, if you live in a particularly dusty area and have pets that shed like crazy, I definitely recommend cleaning it out as best you can at least once a week, just to keep it working in perfect order. I also appreciate the blue light that it has. It actually helps me see the little crumbs and debris. It's extremely mobile and pretty lightweight. The elbow design on it makes it so easy to vacuum under beds and couches that are tall enough. The battery lasts long enough for me to vacuum my three-bedroom home, so in case you were curious about that. However, I do recommend emptying the chamber after every room. It helps conserve the battery, and it cleans the rooms better. The extension tools work great for focusing on small areas, and it's a great package overall. I definitely recommend this vacuum!

I have had multiple vacuums over the years, both cordless and corded upright. I have tried other brands, but I always seem to end up with a Shark. This new PowerPro Flex Reveal vacuum has been another excellent product from Shark. First, I love how the battery is detachable and charges with a regular barrel plug. This means you can leave the vacuum in the closet, and just pop the battery off real quick to charge. Some other brands can only charge the vacuum on a wall-mounted charging dock, and that is much less convenient for me. This new Shark model has noticeably more suction and power than previous non-Shark cordless vacuum. I still use my Shark upright for deep cleaning my 1st floor carpets, but this cordless vac is perfect for picking up leaves and small debris from walking in and out of my garage. It's light, maneuverable, and has plenty of power for daily cleanups when needed. The included upholstery head is great to vacuum my cloth furniture, and the combo crevice/brush tool is great to have for general dusting and getting crumbs out of nooks and crannies.
