I just vacuumed the house, the couch, my office, the kid’s room and the vacuum was 3/4 full! This vacuum rocks! I love how I can go from the wand cleaning back to the vacuum, and then I did the kitchen tile too! It is so versatile, and the suction is great. Thumbs up rating from me! It would have been nice if the handle was adjustable in length when in vacuuming mode, to make it easier to maneuver in cramped areas. The brushbar is conveniently located and easy to access by pressing two buttons and lifting a cover, once the brushbar is lifted out, it can be cleaned of hair or strings with a pair of scissors. The best part is, that the brushbar can be cleaned without having to flip the vacuum over. Overall, this vacuum has a lot of good features.

    Compact yet powerful vacuum

This vacuum is a great upgrade for my household. It is light and compact, but very versatile. You can easily change from using it as a traditional vacuum, to lifting the handle off to make a short hand tool, to lifting the long handle off for hard to reach places (or using the hard floor tool), and then even lifting the body off of the base to have more freedom of movement. I compared this vacuum to a traditional upright that is several years old, and found that the Shark easily outperformed it. I first vacuumed a rug with the upright, and everything appeared clean. Then, I ran the Shark over it using the normal floor vacuum and brush setting. It pulled up some debris that wasn’t visible, and I was amazed that the upright vacuum missed it. The one complaint that I have is that all tools cannot be stored on the unit. The combo upholstery tool/brush fits in one section, and the other fits the crevice tool or hard floor tool. I find that I most use the crevice tool and hard floor tool, so I just have to store it somewhere else. That is a minor complaint, though, and I would easily recommend this vacuum.

    Fantastic Hard Floor Vacuum

The Hard Floor Hero attachment combined with the canister lift away feature is what makes this vacuum excel. The removal canister is lightweight and easy to carry around. Carrying the canister around with the hard floor Hero attachment allows me to clean everywhere on our hard floors. The attachment is steerable and easily maneuverable. I can vacuum under furniture, around chairs and up the stairs with ease and without having to move things around. The suction is also fantastic using this setup and will capture every speck and dog hair on the floor. The downfalls are the vacuum base and carpet cleaning. Don't get me wrong, this vacuum cleans carpet and rugs adequately, but the base is not steerable, and while it's lightweight, not having a steerable vacuum after having one in the past is not fun. Also, to get the brush roller to continue spinning on thicker carpet, I had to adjust the suction on the vacuum. There is a slider on the of the handle where you adjust the suction depending on the floor type you are on. This slider seems to be a alternative to a height adjustment, but the instructions do not tell you this. So, for the thicker carpet, I had to adjust this slider and lessen the suction. To me it seems like the vacuum would be less efficient with less suction, but it did pick up a lot of dirt and hair out of the thick rug I vacuum almost daily. I really like this vacuum and given the fact that we have mostly hard wood floors, I will love using it. It even can easily replace sweeping as a quick cleanup tool. I highly recommend this to anyone with hard floors. Would not recommend as much for a lot of carpet.

Looking at other reviews about this product had me testing it in other stores. It lives up to other reviews with its ease of use, light weight, intuitive design with swivel head, upright and canister modes. Attachments for both home and car use. Suction reveals those that are twice it's cost with a great warranty. Shark/Ninja products come with great customer services you be relatively at ease if any issues come up.

I'm a big fan of this vacuum because it's smaller and versatile but it gets the job done! It's your regular upright vacuum, but the wand easily detaches for the harder to reach areas. Plus, you can also pull the canister off and carry it with you. This is ideal for cleaning stairs because it's lightweight and you're not dragging the whole vacuum cleaner behind you. My floors were pretty dirty on my first run through with this vacuum. It looked (and sounded) like it picked everything up. Plus, there was a lot of dust in the canister, so I felt like it was a good, deep clean. I used it on carpet and hard floor (there's a handy switch on the vacuum for switching between the two) and this did the job on both. I have a smaller condo and I felt like this was the perfect size vacuum that still offers plenty of power.

First impression out of the box was a nice solid vacuum that was quick and easy to assemble and get right to the dirty stuff. Pros- lightweight and nimble, swivel head and drops low to get under furniture while in regular mode, LED lights are nice and bright, roller pops out and is quick and easy to clean, lots of filters to keep the link out, canister mode is super easy and great for hard surfaces. Cons - unable to keep all attachments on board and width of canister can cause issues under furniture when normal vacuuming. Overall this is a great vacuum with great features. I am a shark fan and will put this one through the trenches.

We have tried many vacuums over the years and currently use a Roomba for daily use. This vacuum outworked them all in terms of cleaning power. We vacuumed the carpet the in the morning with our current machine and this arrived after lunch. After a 5 minute assembly we decided to give it a try. Even after vacuuming in the morning, this machine picked up much more dirt and hair (we have two dogs and two cats). To say we were impressed is an understatement. The attachments are nice as well (could use one more space for he third attachment). Overall this is a good machine for the value and I would highly recommend it.

This vacuum seems to check all of the boxes. It is a good overall vacuum with good suction, good edge cleaning, options for hardwoods or carpet, lift-off unit, accessories, etc. It seems to attempt to be a Swiss-army knife -- everything for everyone. This is handy at times (i.e., easy to pop out the suction handle to go after some cobwebs) but at the cost of some other nuances (i.e., you have to re-seat the base unit after each time that you pop out the suction handle). It is lightweight and maneuverable. It is compact. It is a decent overall unit.

Very lightweight and easy to use, but still has plenty of power and suction. Push buttons allow you to switch between modes easily. The canister pops off the base to use as a handheld with the wand, then clicks back in to the use the powered brush. Also switches easily between carpet and hard floor modes with the powered base. Dust bin pops out quickly for emptying after use. The extra long power cord is a nice bonus.

To start I will explain what you get in the box. It comes with all the attachments you will need to keep your carpets and floors clean. A) Vacuum Pod B) Motorized Floor Nozzle C) Handle and Hose D) Wand E) Hard Floor Hero F) Pet Multi-Tool G) 12" Crevice Tool The assembly process is very easy. I am not sure why others are complaining about having to assemble it. It is a simple 4 step process of clicking the parts into place, requires no tools, and I was done in less than 5 minutes. Once it was assembled I was ready to go. I vacuumed my front room where we have our 3 dogs. I thought that since it was recently vacuumed with our other vacuum that there wouldn't be anything to pick up, I was wrong. It picked up dog hair that I couldn't even tell was there. This thing is very strong. It is also much lighter and quieter than old style vacuums. It is also very easy to use and understand. All of the parts, buttons, etc. are labeled as to what they are and what they do. And swapping out the different tools for different jobs is also super easy. Just a press of a button for most of them and you are on to your next task. And once you are done and ready to empty the dust cup just click the release button and empty it out. No more worrying about bags which is very nice. The suction control has an easy slider to adjust the suction power based on your needs. The vacuum is very easy to roll, and with the rotating head you can get in and out of areas without having to always pick up and turn the vacuum like old style types. In addition to the standard vacuuming style you can also use it in lift away mode so you can clean things such as stairs and above floor areas using the included accessories. Attach either the pet multi-tool, or the crevice tool to get under couches, chairs, and hard to reach areas where the full vacuum wont reach. It can also be used to clean car interiors. This is an awesome multi function vacuum that will get all of your vacuum jobs done with ease. And it has a 5 year warranty to keep you going for years to come.

This vacuum cleaner provides great suctioning. I have a cat which requires a lot of cleaning because of hair shedding. I tried this product out today and it did a really good job of intense cleaning of my carpeted area. Also, I love the attachments that are a part of this unit because of its ability to be interchangeable.

Having owned other Shark products, I was expecting a great quality vacuum, and this one did not disappoint. Great suction, versatility, and ease of storage. I have two dogs and a cat, so vacuuming every other day is a must. This vacuum makes getting about 750 sq ft of carpet done a breeze.

This is a very light weight vacuum. It has several parts , but was relatively easy to put together. It works great, picks up a lot of unseen dirt from carpet. I have a dog who sheds a lot, this vacuum picked up the hair without getting clogged. Great device.

The vacuum is good and has strong suction. It just is very loose to turn left/ right when vacuuming and the lift canister is still heavy. It does not include the smaller stair attachment and the cord is short. Otherwise the vacuum comes close to my dyson if you can live withbthe quirks.

Didn't Realize We Needed a New Vacuum!

Vacuum is easy to set up. I took it out of the box and basically snapped it together without even looking at the instructions. There's no tools needed in order to put it together. I then went and vacuumed my son's room and couldn't believe how much dirt and dust was picked up. The bin was completely full after one room! Apparently our old vacuum just had not been cutting it. Very impressed. I went ahead and did the other rooms in the house. Our carpet is near 10 years old and I noticed immediately how it "fluffed" up the carpet more than it has ever been before. It is even better when used on hard floors. We have about 1200 sq. ft. of luxury vinyl plank which is virtually indestructible but for some reason attracts dust and hair unlike anything else. It's an absolute chore to sweep it by hand and if you do you will still find that it is dirty. This vacuum does an absolutely superb job on hard floors. The brushes do not turn in hard floor mode so you don't have to worry about it scratching wood floors if you have any. I like the low profile that allows it to easily reach about 4-5" underneath low furniture, and the lights. My old vacuum did not have a light on the front and especially in hard floor mode it makes it so easy to see all the little dust and hair on the floor. It is also convenient to go from vacuuming the floor to using the hand-held wand. There is a button that you press that will simply detach the wand. But it gets even better, there is another button called "LiftAway" that will allow you to detach the entire vacuum from the base and turn it into a canister which is extremely useful. It makes it much more lightweight so you can hold the unit with one hand and the wand in the other. I was able to reach spider webs in the upper corners of our 10 ft ceilings by using it in this mode. The wand also features a suction control dial that lets you dial it back which is useful for more delicate surfaces like upholstery. Another thing I liked was that the switch to go from hard floor to carpet is built into the power switch itself. This makes it near impossible to forget to use the proper mode for the surface you are cleaning. It will also power off when you put it back into an upright position, which may not seem like a big deal but I've done some damage by putting a vacuum into upright mode while it's on for a second to pick up something on the floor. Overall, if you need a vacuum I really can't think of anything Shark could have done to make this a better buy.

    A Step Up

Background: My old vacuum was a basic upright, no-frills, pretty cheap vacuum that essentially turned out to be disposable when the landlord installed some carpeting to replace wood after some flooding in our home. It could not handle the dog hair with the carpet. (We can sweep/Swiffer on the hard surfaces) We have a mix of carpeting, porcelain tile and wood laminate in our house. Pros: The Shark was easy to unbox and put together. All the parts just clicked easily together. Packaging was secure, but not obnoxious. Directions were easy to follow. Unboxing to use was literally about three minutes. Suction was consistently good on both carpet and hard floors. I was really surprised how much the Shark picked up on the carpet after even just one pass in the traditional upright configuration. It got into corners pretty well, too, but there is still a need to hit some of the tighter corners with the crevice tool later on (that's what it's there for, really!) Maneuverability in traditional upright mode was excellent. Good pivoting and control even in tight spaces. Switching to lift-away mode to use the "hard floor hero" attachment was very easy. The "hero" attachment really does glide across hard floors. It picked up dog hair, dust and even some larger bits of debris very easily! I really liked this attachment. When it was time to empty the dust cup, the Shark blew my old vacuum away in many ways (except one, which I'll address in the cons). The clearly superior suction means that there is no dust and debris left in other parts of the machine (tubes, etc.) when you go to empty. Everything is in the dust cup. With my old vacuum, there was often stuff stuck in the tubing that I would have to fish out before using it again, because it would affect the suction. I checked all the lines and usual places where I would get clogs on my old vacuum, and they were all totally clear on the Shark. Awesome! Variable suction control is a really nice touch! I also like how all switches and settings are very clearly marked. Cons: The unit is a bit heavy... but you know what? I'm cool with that. If it does it's job, this is barely worth mentioning. More worth mentioning: As an asthma sufferer, one of the biggest things I have to pay attention to when cleaning and vacuuming is putting more dust into the air. So, for instance, I always empty the dust cup outside, and ideally, I prefer not to have to use my hands too much to get into the cup to empty it out. My old vacuum had it's dust cup door on the bottom with a quick release hinge, so emptying was practically a one-handed affair. The Shark Lift-Away actually has two emptying doors... which is nice to help you really be able to clean it out... but the main, larger door is actually at the top of the dust cup, where the handle is. I found emptying the dust cup to be a bit unwieldy. I always have to use my hands to empty it out fully and holding and emptying with the handle as part of the door is a bit tricky. The Lift-Away feature is something I've pined after a bit since Shark came out with it the first time years ago. Now that I've used it, I can take it or leave it, honestly. Carrying around the canister with one hand, while maneuvering the wand to clean with the other can be challenging... it won't be something I use often, but I will use it for certain smaller or specialized jobs. The default setting for this vacuum will probably be traditional upright for me. All in all, a very solid vacuum, with great suction and some very good options... even though I won't use them all the time, it's great to have them when I need them.

This is a very nice, lightweight vacuum. The vacuum comes with some great attachments and they are a good size. One of the coolest features with this vacuum is that the hose is build int the handle, which you can take off in two different sizes. The first one is for a quick pickup and the second has the extended range to get into the higher places. The attachments fit well and are easy to take on or off. The dust canister is a pretty good size, but might be a little smaller than some other vacuums. It's easy to take the canister off and empty it as well. It just snaps back into place. If there are any issues with the brush roller, there is an access door for you to get to, so you're not trying to fish anything out of the roller the hard way. Most vacuums have this feature, so this is pretty standard. The suction on the vacuum seems to work very well. Picks up dust bunnies with ease and does a good job with picking up most things.
