First time buying a Shark vacuum and we are very pleased with it. Easy to use, quite easy to empty the bag and easy to use/store attachments.

This is my second review of a Shark vacuum (the other was a Rocket Complete) and I am impressed with how affordable Shark can make these vacuums, and they still have as great of suction power as my Dyson. Assembly was a breeze and did not require any tools. I did not even have to glance at the instructions since the vacuum is labeled very well. The first thing I noticed about this vacuum was that it had a good weight; it was very light but heavier than a stick vacuum. It can be very time consuming to clean the rollers, but with the easy access (just push in the two latches on the floor nozzle and pull the lift out tab), it took only a few minutes. The roller is also very easy to reinstall after cleaning. After turning the vacuum on, I was surprised to find the vacuum’s volume was only 72dB by the handle in Hard Floor mode and 75dB in Carpet mode, considering that a normal conversation is about 60dB and an alarm clock is about 80dB. I loved the Hard Floor Hero attachment. I normally use a regular vacuum without the brushroll turned on, but always notice that a lot of dirt is missed. The Hard Floor Hero solved this problem. I do not understand why other companies do not sell or include this accessory, as it is a must have for hardwood floors. I found the vacuum did a great job cleaning both long and short fiber carpets, but it was a bit harsh on the long fiber (about 1/2” high) carpet, as I could see tiny threads of fiber wrapped around the brushroll. I was a little disappointed that I could not remove the pod and vacuum with the floor nozzle under tight spaces. Shark does offer a model (3-in-1) which does offer this feature, at a much higher price. Pros Controllable suction (located on handle) Quiet (same dB as a phone ringtone) Option to leave floor nozzle behind to clean stairs Cons Brushroll on/off switch not located on the handle Nonadjustable brushroll height (for longer or shorter carpet fibers) I would recommend this vacuum for anyone who wants a very quiet, lightweight, maneuverable vacuum for small to medium sized (1000 – 4000 sqft) homes with mostly hardwood or short fiber carpets. I would not recommend it for frequent use on long fiber carpets due to the extra wear it would cause.

I have had 3 Dyson’s. They all played out within a year and a half of purchase. The shark picks up more, has better suction.

This is the best vacuum I've owned to date. I'm replacing a Shark (lesser model--360 I think) with this one and I love it. One great thing about Shark's is they are very easy to put together. You can have it snapped together and vacuuming within minutes of getting it out of the box. The suction is great--I have a lab that sheds black hair constantly and this vacuum has no trouble picking up all of her hair fairly quickly. The attachments are perfect--usually vacuums come with more than I need but this one has the right amount. A great pet attachment, a wood floor attachment, and a wand attachment. There is also a wood floor setting on the vacuum that works very well without the attachment. It's convenient to be able to detach the canister and use it as a portable vacuum as well--this makes stairs and other tight areas a snap. Shark makes it simple to detach and attach every part--the hose, canister, etc, and no matter how many times you use it the attachment always feels snug. The only drawbacks I have found are that the cord is a bit short, and the canister itself is smaller than the one on my last Shark, so it has to be emptied fairly often (especially with my dog). Other than that I've found no issues so far. Highly recommended.
