I decided on the Shark after researching it for a couple months. The Shark picked up more dirt than the Dyson. The dirt catcher bin is smaller, but I can live with that when it is doing a good job cleaning. The one thing that I didn't care for was the fact that it is very easy to tip over, especially when vacuuming stairs. Overall it done a excellent job.

Great vacuum at affordable price

As a mom with three kids I couldn't justify spending that kind of money. I started doing research and found this one on top of the list. I figure I try it and if it doesn't work as well then I can always return it. But now I'm in love with it. I have carpeted stairs and this easily maneuver up and down the stairs. A must try.
