This Shark SpeedStyle is lightweigt and easy to use and also works great. I am so excited that this works well with my coarse, curly hair. I get nervous with new hair items because of my type of hair. But I found that it worked with different types as we each used it with different hair types and it worked for us both. It is surprising how quickly this dries my hair and allows me to style it. This is my first styling hair dryer and I’m glad I decided to try this. It is such a time saver being able to dry and style my hair at the same time. And it looks nice too. I plan to take it with me when we travel in a few weeks because it’s lightweight and won’t take up much space, even with the attachments. The plug is good length which allows more control on movement. This offers 3 levels of heat plus a no heat level and 3 levels of air flow which you can set manually to meet your needs but it also automatically chooses a setting depending on which attachment I use. The attachments snap in quickly and easily and comes right off when you press the unlock button. I tried the 3 attahcments that came with it: rapidgloss, quicksmooth brush and turbo concentrator. There are additional attachments that can be purchased separately and I can’t wait to receive the lift and stretch wide-tooth comb, I think that will complete my hair need. It comes with a full color styling guide which shows details on how each of the attachments works and some styling tips depending on what type of hair you have. The guide also includes a QR code that is suppose to lead to videos and more info about styling your type of hair but the codes didn’t work for me. It got a 404 Error each time I tried the QR codes in guide. But it gave me the idea to search in Youtube, which lead me to Shark Beauty Youtube page, where there were lots of helpful videos.

I got this as the current Hair Dryer I had was a handme down and quite old. I got tired of dealing with it cutting off the hot air and only blowing cool air sporadically. This thing has been great so far. I like having the various attachments to maintain my longer hair. It certainly dries my hair in a fraction of the time of the old one. The attachments work well. The Turbo Concentrator works really well when needing to focus the heat into a smaller area to get more control. The Comb works well and helps to smooth out my hair. Mine tends to be quite curly when it's of middling length so I can imagine this will help that for whenever I do decide to cut my hair to a shorter length. The RapidGloss finisher takes some getting used to. I've still not quite gotten the hang of it, but of the times I have used it, it's defnitely helped to get rid of a lot of the frizz I get with my hair. I really like how light it is. It certainly is a stark difference from my old one which was quite large and bulky. The lightness of the SpeedStyle really makes a difference if you've a lot of hair. Your hands don't get tired near as quickly and it's not at all uncomfortable to hold. The attachments when connected to the SpeedStyle appear to have a kind of automatic control over the Speed and the level of Heat needed for each. The air filter on the back is very easy to clean and is only a quick turn away. Overall it's a really great Hair drying system and being able to use different attachments to accomplish different needs of different styles makes it incredibly versatile. If you're needing something light that can work with different hairstyles, this is a safe bet for your needs.

I got mistake of buying this product. Should buy the other model. Drying my hair was good but using the product with that handle was not comfortable.

The best way to test a good hairdryer is to place it in the hands of an expert, my girlfriend :-) I’ve been using it as well. But she has very, very long hair and has several hairdryers. First, I will say that it is very well made. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. But, it’s a Shark so you can expect quality. Three heat settings as well as no heat along with variable speeds gives you plenty of options to choose from. What surprised me the most was how small it is. Relatively compact compared to most hairdryers. Now I have shorter hair so for me drying my hair is a pretty quick thing to do. But she says this Shark has literally cut her hair drying time in half. More importantly, she says that it doesn’t damage her hair the way other dryers do. There are several attachments included. She uses the straightener all the time. With this attachment, you don’t even need to touch the hair. Just use a straight motion just off the hair. This helps in protecting from damaged hair. All in all, if you need a good hairdryer that is small, has plenty of settings and attachments AND just flat out works better than any other hairdryer then this is for you.

This is far and away my favorite hair dryer! I previously used a Chi 1875 and was pretty happy with it. I didn't really expect the Ninja Shark dryer to be such a drastic upgrade, but it beats the Chi in every way. It's much lighter and easier to maneuver, and even though the barrel is longer, it's much narrower so it is easier to store and fits into the corner of my suitcase, so it's easier to travel with. I have thick, coarse, long (middle of my back) hair and this dries my hair in about 10 minutes. The attachments made it easy to blow my wavy hair straight. It doesn't look dried-out or dull-- on the contrary my hair looks sleek and shiny. Noise isn't a problem with this dryer, either. It's fairly quiet as far as hair dryers go. I would rank this with dryers that cost twice the price. I do wish it had come with a diffuser, as I have wavy hair and use a diffuser depending on how I want to style my hair that day. The current diffusers available don't look like they will fit this model.

Nothing extraordinary about this blow dryer. It is definitely not intended for very thick hair. I would not recommend this item.

Personally I didn’t like it. It makes so much noise you would think an airplane is in your house. It is not easy to style the hair if you’re using the brush. My hair is not curly so I can’t speak for curly hair, but I couldn’t style my hair at all. It was just making it flat. No volume at all.

This multi-use hair dryer is lightweight and compact yet powerful. It also has a lengthy cord so you don’t have to be close to an outlet. There are 3 fan settings, including 3 heat settings. Both are located above the on/off switch. There is also a cool button located in the front of the handle. Once you get the style you want with the heat of the hair dryer the cool button will hold your style in place. This hair dryer comes with three attachments to style your hair in a number of ways: 1. Turbo Concentrator – This is like most other concentrator attachments, which is great to have when styling your hair. It concentrates on a smaller area on your hair. 2. QuickSmooth Brush – This attachment is great for smoothing out those waves and adding volume. What I think makes this hair dryer unique is that this attachment works somewhat like a brush hair dryer, but will twist 360 degrees, so that you can adjust it in all different directions for the way you style your hair. 3. RapidGloss Finisher – This is great for smoothing away fly-a-ways and removing excess frizz on already dried hair. This works great and leaves your hair with a shiny, healthy, clean look. Changing the attachments is simple. There is an unlock switch on the dryer to remove whichever attachment you are using. Simply click that and twist off the attachment. Add a new attachment by twisting on the new one and you will hear a click to know that it is securely in place. What I love about this hair dryer is that it is lightweight and easy to use. My hair looks and feels healthier and my style is on point. With this compact hair dryer, it will be perfect to pack in a suitcase when I travel. The hotel dryers are just so basic and with this I can look my best wherever I go while traveling.

This is the household’s newest favorite. It used to be only mommy on the dryer, when it’s office day or eat out weekend. But now, even the eldest boy (who happens to have the longest hair), and the two girls, 10 and 8 have discovered the ease of this speed dryer. The previous family blow dryer was decent too, had mommy’s hair wavy and voluminous when she wants to. But it was a little too big and long. So only mommy and sometimes our boy would use it. But now, every one is raving about this speed dryer because even the girls are now on it too, especially after seeing the shiny results! We used to have blow dryers that kept being replaced every so often. They were quite compact too but it broke down TWICE. So the solution was to get the more expensive ones, which had multiple attachments, but is HUGE. Use of that big dryer was limited to the adults and the pre teen. But when the speed dryer arrived, they were surprised how such a compact device, unlike our old ones, can spew out power especially for really thick wet hair. The dryer was easy to handle and the attachments click easily in place. Plus, the packing itself and the manuals are so easy to understand, now the two girls are enjoying this. (Well, maybe a little too much, because grocery food trips should NOT involve blow dried hair—but sure). Settings are easy to switch too between users and between desired styles, so it easily works with different lengths and thickness. I have never seen blow drying to be an enjoyable task—especially for this speed dryer which does fast results in “glossy in 1-2-3” as the youngest one says. The build looks durable so I am hoping this would last with the very frequent usage. Regardless, I think this speed dryer is a win!

Wow, does this little hairdryer put out some air and very hot air it is! What I really love about this hairdryer is the size. It’s probably the smallest hair dryer I have ever owned and I have had many. The base of it is small, making it easy to maneuver when drying my hair. What I really like about the Shark Speedstyle hairdryer is the size. It’s light weight so your hands don’t get tired while drying your hair. It has three speeds for air flow and three speeds for temperature. I found the first setting for temperature was plenty hot for me but I do like the air flow on maximum. I have long, thin hair. It takes a while to dry even though it is thin. With the speedstyler my hair was dry in no time. I thought the rapid gloss finisher tool was more marketing than delivery when opening the box. Turns out it absolutely delivers and my hair has never been this perfectly straight and it is glossy! I used this function two days after washing my hair. The tropical storm hitting California has brought a lot of humidity. My hair responded with some frizz. The rapid gloss finisher took care of it in just a few minutes. Fantastic. The cord is a bit heavy, I suppose that was needed to deliver the power this little hairdryer delivers. If Shark included a travel case for the accessories it would be perfect. Turns out a neoprene case that fits the dryer and attachments is available on the accessories page. There are six available attachments. The box includes three. Tgis is notging more than a heavy hairdryer. I wanted to like it but just not worth it to me.

So from my name I don't exactly have the lustrous locks that can really take advantage of this so I had to enlist the help of my wife to help with this review. So just physically, this looks quite a bit nicer than other products, but more than that there are some practical differences too. The cord is long, which is really nice and the cord is also a bit thicker and seems to resist tangling in a knot better than her other tools. All this leads to an easy to hold and use product. It is also quieter than any hair dryers we have owned in the past or present (besides this one). There is a light on the handle that lights up to notify that settings are correct or default and then turns red when they aren't default, the default settings are also the settings that she prefers for almost all her use cases, so it is really useful to just glance and know it is all good. The default settings automatically select the fan speed and temperature and are also done per accessory. The attachments are quick and easy to detach and attach, the brush was easy once the rotate button was found on the side. The hairbrush gave her hair volume and made it easy to style while trying The hair blower was nice, but she didn't really notice a benefit of this besides of course that it would be terrible if it wasn't included. The rapid gloss finisher was by far her favorite. There are stickers on the device itself with easy instructions and by using it she didn't have to straighten her hair with a flat iron as the rapid gloss finisher did an excellent job calming her frizz and flattening her hair. She absolutely loves that she can calm and straighten her hair now in 10 min compared to 30 min with a traditional straight iron. Her only thought, not even really a concern is that she didn't see how the standard setting had no heat damage at all as claimed as it set the heat pretty high. Now comparing it to a standard flat iron the potential damage can easily be seen to be considerably less so this was more of a comment than a concern. The only other con is that it didn't come with the defuzer, as she would really like to try that, we had to order it off of the shark website directly as the accessory isn't on best buy. So all in all, the only two concerns aren't really concerns, she loves everything about this and has already recommended it to a few friends.

I got this for my daughter so most of this will be her words with my opinions tossed in. I'm short cut so a gentle breeze is enough to dry me, lol. She's mixed a with a little bit from five continents and has curly hair that she loves to dye every other week. First impressions was that I liked the balance and weight. It a bit heavier than her cheaper blow dryers but not so much that it cause any unwanted stress or aches. Since she had recently colored her hair, she didn't need a whole lot of styling and used it as just a dryer. High velocity is no joke. This thing moves air. When she's done with it I'll take it outside to blow the yard, lol. The heat doesn't get to what other dryers do, so it supposed to be healthier for her dye damaged hair. More use is needed to see if it helps out. Even at a lower heat, the amount of air moved dries your hair in no time. No one clocked it, but she said it was lot faster than her other dryers. The only attachment she's used is the concentrator. She does straighten her hair sometimes and the finisher will come in handy for touch ups after getting her hair done. She's been rocking the natural curls lately and wanted to stick with that look on her first week in college. While it does take some investment to own the SpeedStyle RapidGloss, the amount of time she's saving is worth it. Once she's able to try the other attachments after a straightening, I'm sure she'll be even more in love with it.

It blows air fast and tangles the hair and doesn’t dry it.

The Shark SpeedStyle Rapidgloss Finisher and High velocity dryer is an extremely worthy upgrade over the generic $30-$50 basic hairdryer that you get from the likes of TJMax, among other stores. Whereas those generic models have just the basic functions of heat on/off, speed high and low and are generally bulky, the Shark product comes off as a high quality almost-professional hairdryer. It has temperature control, speed controls, and the speed of the wind is much more delicate. My wife (the primary consumer) says that the Shark is a big improvement over her basic $30-$50 TJMax product. It's lighter, more professional, better built, and the variable speed and temperature controls allow her to worry less about the dryer damaging her fragile hair. The only major complaint that she has is that the cable is much more robust, including a power box along the cord. It is sort of like a laptop charging cable. She would much prefer a standard cable that could be retractable, but it is a small price to pay for a much better hairdryer. The TJMax hairdryers generally last 3-5 years. I suspect this Shark hairdryer will last upwards of 7-10 years if treated well. Given that, I would say it is worth the extra $150 in cost.
