Have you ever made a mess in your car or at home and thought I wish I had a tool to clean this up real quick? I am glad Shark thought of such situations as their StainForce Cordless Portable Spot and Stain Cleaner was designed exactly for messy and unfortunate situations in life. I used to use paper towels and whatever else I could find to clean the stains and usually after a number of applications of Shout or some spray cleaner, I would achieve the desired results. When I first learned about Shark's Spot cleaner, I thought immediately - this thing belongs in our family car. We take many trips and end up eating in the car and with kids having their sauces and ketchups there is always a chance of a mess. I really like that this tool is very portable and comes with everything you will need to take care of any messes. It is like a loaded gun ready to take care of your messy business. So let me explain how it works. The Shark spot cleaner operates through a simple process designed for deep-cleaning and odor removal as well. First, you would prepare the solution, apply it to the stain and let the magic begin: a powerful built-in motor generates strong suction. I must add here that it does get a bit loud. This pulls up the cleaning solution, liquid, and dirt from the fabric, preventing the stain from setting deeper and significantly reducing residual moisture. If you are dealing with a stain like pet urine, this tool and the specialized cleaning formula also helps with neutralizing odors (I have not tested that but the cleaning solution is pretty good). What's cool about this cleaner is it has a self-cleaning feature as well. After finishing the job, all you have to do is turn on the self-cleaning mode. This function flushes out the nozzle and internal pathways, ensuring the unit is free of buildup and clogs, and is ready for its next use. I must admit I was pretty surprised by the cleaning results of this cleaner. I had to take care of coffee stains that were on our seat forever, there were a number of ketchup stains and dirt from kids shoes. After using the Shark Portable Cleaner, I was able to recover the fabric of the car seat to its original clean state. At home I used it on our theater sofa, where kids left a number of stains and again, the powerful cleaner took care of the old messes. Pretty impressive. A few things that Shark may want to improve on is the noise level, the solution tank is a bit small for bigger messes and since it runs off a battery, you may need to remember to charge it well (takes about 4 hours to be fully charged) before your long distance trips. The Shark StainForce is engineered as a highly practical, everyday stain fighter, making it an indispensable tool for immediate clean-ups around the home, your car, etc. I think its design prioritizes convenience and speed, making it perfect for those unexpected, quick messes and for effective odor removal from spills. However, it is essential to understand its intended role: it serves as a specialized, on-the-spot solution. While exceptionally capable for tackling isolated stains and spots on carpets and upholstery, the StainForce is definitively not intended to be a replacement for a full-sized, deep-cleaning carpet cleaner. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to keep their stuff clean, perfect for any dad or mom.

    Shark StainForce: Powerful, Easy, Family-Friendly

As someone constantly cleaning up kid spills and our dog’s muddy paw prints, the Shark StainForce truly shines at its core mission—spot-cleaning messes quickly and effectively. Across reviews, many users report very strong suction and impressive stain removal on upholstery, carpets, car seats, and kids’ chairs, often outperforming expectations for a unit this size. Its cordless portability and lightweight design mean I can grab it off the shelf and tackle messes anywhere without dragging a cord around—a huge convenience during chaotic mornings or post-walk mud conquests. The included storage caddy and easy assembly/disassembly are also frequently praised, and many owners say it's simple enough to use even in rushed situations. However, there are important limitations worth noting before buying. The battery life is shorter than many hoped—most users describe it as fine for a couple of chairs or a few small spots but not enough to deep-clean an entire room without recharging. I confirmed online and several reviewers also mention that it can be louder than expected, and the dirty tank is relatively small, requiring frequent emptying on larger jobs. Importantly for budget-conscious households, Shark uses a proprietary cleaning solution cartridge system, which some owners find expensive, sometimes hard to find in stock, and less flexible than DIY refills or generic cleaners. This “razor-and-blades” model means ongoing cost for replacement dual-formula cartridges on top of the initial purchase price—something to consider if you’re planning frequent use with kids and pets. Additionally, a few users warn that the internal chamber can develop mold if not thoroughly dried after every use, so diligent maintenance is critical. Like any solution based cleaning tool, making sure to clean and dry all pieces always prolongs the longevity of the device. I also appreciate the cordless functionality as it quickly goes from house to vehicle to make sure any accidental stains in your car or truck can be quickly tackled. In everyday family life, this spot cleaner feels like a solid tool—especially for quick stains that need immediate attention. Its power and convenience make it enjoyable to reach for after a juice spill, dog accident, or carpet smudge, and many parents and pet owners say it’s worth the money because it saves time and frustration. That said, if battery life, tank size, and replacement solution costs are deal-breakers for you, it might be worth comparing against more traditional corded spot cleaners with generic refills. For what it is—a grab-and-go stain warrior in a busy household—it performs well, just with a few trade-offs to be aware of.

The Shark StainForce is an impressively powerful cordless spot cleaner that offers unmatched convenience. I was particularly struck by its performance on my dining chairs, where it effortlessly lifted my kids month-old tomato sauce stains in just a few minutes. Between its lightweight design and the included storage caddy, this is easily the most portable spot cleaner I’ve used. It has quickly become my go-to for cleaning inside my SUV, especially when it comes to my toddler’s messy car seat. The included crevice tool is highly effective, reaching deep into couch cushions and those notoriously tight gaps in the car. Performance & Usability The suction power is standout for a battery-operated device, handling dried-on stains that I expected would require much more scrubbing. It’s also incredibly user-friendly, so much so that my seven-year-old was able to help out with several cleanings. Areas for Improvement My only real critiques are regarding the solution and the charging cycle. While the cleaning formula is highly effective, the scent is somewhat unappealing; I would have preferred a fresher or more floral fragrance. Additionally, while the battery life is sufficient for most tasks, the recharge time is a bit slow. You'll want to make sure it's always charged and ready to go for any messes that may come. Pros: True Portability: The cordless design means you aren't tethered to an outlet or limited by a power cord. Impressive Suction: Easily tackled stubborn, month-old stains. Versatile Attachments: The crevice tool is a lifesaver for car interiors and furniture. User-Friendly: Intuitive enough for the whole family to use. Cons: Charge Time: It takes a significant amount of time to reach a full battery. Formula Scent: The cleaning solution works well but lacks a pleasant, fresh aroma.

We've been fans of Shark for a while now. They have offered a medium-quality range at budget prices, which I can appreciate. For what you get with this kit, $150 is a great value. We have two robot vacuum cleaners, and the one upstairs that handles all carpet is the Shark. We've been impressed with its longevity and cleaning power. This is the first handheld spot cleaner we've owned, so we didn't quite know what to expect. This one is much different than a robot vacuum cleaner. It's designed primarily for tackling wet stains on either hardwood or carpet. If you have any rugs, carpet, or non-leather couches, you know how awful it is when you spill something on them. Many of us instinctively believe that a stain will occur. If you address it quickly and effectively, you can prevent a permanent mark that will serve as a reminder to avoid colorful foods and drinks in the future. That's what this kit will do. There's a convenient caddy that stores everything you'll need to quickly tackle a spill. The solution can be used as a pre-soak to settle any stains before using the actual machine. Plus, there's a handheld vacuum that can handle the liquid spills and messes along with the stain remover. The vacuum has two interchangeable heads with reversible bristles, perfect for use before and during application of the cleaner. In the description, Shark explains that this cleaner removes a wide range of stains, from wine to Sharpies. Now, we didn't test this ourselves, but we did run it over some older, faint stains on our stairs, and it improved them nicely. Cleaning the vacuum itself is easy, as it can be rinsed out using its own reservoir, which is conveniently stored in the caddy. You can also completely disassemble the vacuum, which will make things much easier. The main drawback of this device is its battery life. At full power, it lasts only about 15 minutes. While 15 minutes might seem short, it's important to remember that this is not a vacuum cleaner; it's meant for spot cleaning spills or stains rather than tackling large areas. This amount of time should be sufficient to handle a spill. The device is powerful, and you'll notice its strength when you use it. It can be pretty loud. The best aspect of this kit is its portability and cost. There's nothing like having everything together, ready to go when there is a spill. It takes a lot of anxiety out of dealing with a potential stain. Considering everything included in this kit, $150 is quite reasonable, especially in a market where prices can be much higher.

The Shark Stainforce corless portable spot and stain cleaner is a convenient, quick way to clean up minor spills, set in stains and cleanup after pets. Like many Shark products I have owned I appreciate the well thought out design and attention to convenience. The unit comes with the cleaning tool, spray head, cleaning solution, charger and a crevice tool. The front of the unit has a reversible scrubber. One side has stiff bristles an the other side has rubber like "fins" (for surfaces that have pet or human hair). To clean set in stains or crusty bits, you first scrub the spot with the tool to agitate the stain or break up dirt etc, spray the cleaning solution on and wait a few minutes, scrub again, spray more cleaning solution, then turn the cleaner on and clean the spot with a back and forth motion. This did work quite well on a dried stain on a piece of furniture. The cleaner has sufficient suction power to clean up liquids and the cleaning solution. It is not overly loud, but like all such products it does make considerable noise. The cleaning solution seemed to leave behind a bit of a residue that I felt needed to be rinsed with water, followed by a pass or two of the cleaner to suck up the excess water. This is my only complaint really. This is a super convenient spot cleaner that can be used anywhere.

We usually rent a industrial carpet cleaner every few years to do all the carpets in our house, but wee have never really had anything for any spills that may happen in between those cleanings. I saw this small carpet cleaner and thought it would be perfect for us. Out of the box it appears to be a very well-made product. I have owned a few Shark vacuums in the past and have always been very impressed with them. Included in the box is literally everything you need to clean up small stains, including a plastic bin to carry everything in. Except for the charging cable, for some reason there is nowhere to store that onboard which is a little disappointing cause you know you are going to lose that charging cable! You get the cleaner itself, a couple different brush heads as well as the charging cable, the storage bucket, and also a small bottle of carpet cleaning solution. I have had a small grease stain on my carpet for a while that occurred when I was assembling a desk chair and some grease got on the carpet. I figured this would be a great way to test tis out. This stain has been there for over a year, so it’s a good dried in stain. They tell you to soak the entire area with the cleaner, then scrub it with the attachment on the end of the cleaner. Then turn the vacuum on to suck up all the water. Then repeat repeatedly if needed till the stain is gone. One thing I learned is that if you are going to soak an area with just the cleaner, you are going to go through a lot of cleaners. What I did was first soaked the area with a spray bottle with just water in it. Then I did a few sprays of the cleaner on top of that once it was already soaked through. Then I used the scrub brush and then sucked it up with the vacuum. So, that is a little tip you can use to save you a little money on refill bottles of cleaner. It took me 2 passes, but I am happy to say that the grease stain is now completely gone. You would not even know it was there. I also have an older recliner in my room that has never been cleaned, so I decided to give it a try on a little larger area. I did the same thing of soaking with water first and then spraying the cleaner on top of that. When I sucked up the water it was quite brown, so it did a very good job as an upholstery cleaner as well. Just be sure to test the solution on an inconspicuous spot to make sure its safe to use on your fabric. Cleaning out the unit is also very easy. There is a detailed guide that tells you just what to take apart, and what parts you can rinse under water to clean. Overall, it takes a few seconds to disassemble the unit. Then you just rinse everything out with water, then a few more seconds to put it back together and you are good to go till your next stain happens. Apart from the small gripe of not having anywhere to store the charging cable, this unit works very well and it is very small, convenient, and lightweight to use. I would think every household would want something like this for unexpected spills and cleaning!

Shark’s StainForce spot and stain cleaner is helpful for spills and removal of various types of things that might leave stains in carpet. It has a convenient caddy that fits everything except the charger. It’s battery will last long enough to remove multiple spots and it takes up to about 4 hours to fully charge. With everything fitting in the caddy except the charging block, I can take it to any room of my home and also out to my vehicle to clean up a spills. The Caddy The caddy has a U shaped handle that makes it easy to hold and carry around. The caddy itself is lightweight and with the cleaner, solution bottle, and crevice tool the overall weight isn’t bad at all. The caddy has places designed to accommodate the solution bottle with spray handle attached, the cleaner with standard attachment, and the crevice tool. The holder for the cleaner can be removed. It’s also used to clean the vacuum. I removed the holder, filled it with water to the fill line, placed it back into the caddy, put the cleaner/vacuum into it, turned it on and let it draw the water into the cleaner/vacuum. I then emptied the water from the vacuum and was done cleaning it. I also washed the insert after that. I found it to be a simple process to clean it. The Spray Handle Shark includes a spray handle and a bottle of solution. The spray handle was simple to attached to the bottle which contains two components that make up the solution that is sprayed on a stain. The spray handle is well made and I don’t fell like it will break as it is made with thick sturdy plastic components. It also has a nozzle that can be turned to changed from a single stream to a wide spray pattern. That was helpful to me to cover a wide stain that I removed after using the wide spray pattern and a few small ones where I used the narrow stream. I liked that it helps to conserve some of the solution when I was dealing with a few small spots where a few drops of soda had gotten on my carpet. Performance My use of the the StainForce has been a good experience. I was able to remove multiple stains from high pile carpet. The cleaner sound is lower in volume than my hand held vacuum cleaner. Extraction of the cleaning solution that I sprayed at each of the spot/spill areas that I cleaned was good. It shows that the cleaner is well designed and powerful. The recharge time seems to me to be reasonable and I have no complaints about that. The caddy makes it very convenient to move everything from one room to another. I also like the simple way of rinsing the cleaner. Final Thoughts Shark did a good job with the StainForce. From the caddy design to the performance of the cleaner, to the quality of the spray handle, it is all well made. I’m glad that Shark has this offering in their cleaning line. If you need something that is portable, cordless, yet still powerful enough to remove stains from short pile to high pile carpet, then consider the Shark StainForce portable spot and stain cleaner.

The cordless StainForce is designed for lightweight needs; like emergency spills and small spills/stains. This said, some uses are for upholstery, carpet, and vehicle interiors without the need of having to search for a plug, “always ready to go”. Some stains need attention right away without having an opportunity to fully settle while looking for an outlet, instead the battery operation allows for instant ready use. A fine example is wine or beer. The wireless machine may be used in any position as it does not have onboard cleaning solution. The suction and dual-activated cleaning solution provide extra stain-fighting power to aide in the removal of tough stains. Unit comes with an oxi-cleaning solution that mixes via the included spray head. Spray head is reusable and can buy refills. Average runtime is ~15 minutes after a 5-hour charge; designed for quick stain removal situations for clean-up. Charger plugs into handle via a dedicated charging port. With its minimal design, it does not use a lot of water, and has a small storage tank for the waste water. There are 2 different cleaning head options, depending on your cleaning needs that allow you to easily change between scrubbing bristles to a rubber for hair on fabrics.

I am a big fan of Shark products, owning 5 of their cordless vacuums. This may be their coolest product yet. This unit is very light weight and easy to use for quick clean ups. The Shark StainForce is rechargeable so no need to plug it in like many of the heavier cleaners out there. It comes with a caddy to store the unit as well as the additional attachment for small spaces like crevices and the cleaning solution. The unit comes with the motor head that needs to be charged before using and then there is the cleaning section that is used to scrub and suction the solution from the carpet stain. Basically, you spray the cleaning solution on the stain and then tilt the head down to scrub the stain and then lift up slightly with the unit on to suck up the solution and remove the stain. This may take multiple applications of the cleaning solution. Once the stain is gone you can easily empty the unit. I had a couple of minor stains that took a couple of applications of the solution to get out. The collection section comes apart to clean all of the internal parts. In the storage caddy where the unit sits is a removable cubby that you fill with some water and then set the unit into and turn it on and the unit sucks up the water to clean it all the internal parts. This works really well. I don’t often get stains on my carpet so having a heavy corded cleaner isn’t something I really need. This is the perfect solution for my needs. It’s light weight and super portable and does a great job. A couple of things to consider. The charger is proprietary to Shark so don’t lose it. It would be nice if they had used a USB-C type charger. I am always trying to make sure I have the right charger for each of the vacuums I have as they are all different. The other thing is how loud this is. I measured 80 decibels when operating. Since you probably won’t be using it for extended periods this may not be an issue, but it is loud. Other than these minor issues the Shark StainForce works great and if you just need occasional stain removal this is the perfect solution.

    Quick Cleanup Without the Hassle

The Shark StainForce cordless spot and stain cleaner has been in my home for the last few weeks while I used it for daily cleaning, and so far, I’ve had a very good experience with the cleaner. In using the cleaner, the first thing I noticed is how convenient it is to have a cordless spot cleaner available to me. I've found that I use my cordless cleaner much more often than I would have used my plugged-in corded vacuum cleaner, since I no longer need to think about where my outlets are located, or having to drag a long hose with me! I’ve used this cleaner on carpets, stairs, and even my car seats; with a cordless cleaner, I don’t have to worry about where my nearest outlet is! I was also very impressed with the effectiveness of the dual activated spray of the StainForce cleaner for removing fresh stains from coffee, food, etc., as well as removing older (set-in) stains. In fact, I’ve found that it usually takes two passes to remove set-in stains, but when you see how well the suction works, it’s very satisfying! Another great feature of the StainForce is its low moisture cleaning system. When I clean an area using the StainForce cleaner, the cleaned items dry much faster than items that I've cleaned using other types of traditional carpet cleaning systems. This is a great advantage if you have busy areas in your home, as I do! After cleaning up an area with the StainForce cleaner where my pet has had some “accidents”, I experienced a marked reduction in odors from the pet. On the flip side, the Shark StainForce does have a couple of downsides as well. While the battery life is okay and gives you enough power to complete small jobs, anyone cleaning several areas back-to-back may want to have extra battery life. Also, while the cleaning solution has a pleasant smell, it’s a little bit strong at first; this may be an issue for some. Overall, I believe that Shark has designed the StainForce with people in mind. It is lightweight and will make a great addition to anyone’s cleaning arsenal to assist in keeping up with the messes of everyday life. Although the StainForce can't completely replace a full-size carpet cleaning machine, it is very helpful for doing quick cleaning on specific places, and I use it often.

This is a great solution to spot cleaning stains on couches, chairs, rugs etc. No longer do you need to lug out a giant carpet cleaning machine, add water and solution, and (sometimes) create an even bigger cleanup mess. This system does not require clean water to be used, except for cleaning the device itself. It only requires you spray the stain, and scrub then vacuum. Use: ok, so you find a stain you need to clean. Grab the handy dandy caddy and walk to the strain. Use the spray bottle to spray the stain, and let it soak for a minute. Then use the handheld vacuum and scrub, then vacuum up the mess. If the mess is wet before hand, just use the device to suck it all up, then spray and repeat the suction process. All done? Head to the sink, and use the handy "quick empty" lever and let the dirty liquid go into the sink. If you are completely finished, you can let the machine clean itself. Inside of the caddy, there is a removable tray that has a fill line. You fill that tray with water, set the machine inside of it, and turn it on until it sucks up all the water. Then you simply drain it again, and pull off the back to let it dry. Easy peasy. The vacuum itself is quite strong for something this size. It is not going to work for large stains, but it's not designed for that. The portability is where it comes in strong! My only gripe is the proprietary cleaner that is required for the spray bottle. While you technically don't have to use it (you could use any other liquid cleaner really), that is part of the convenience of all of this. Having a spray bottle with cleaner that works right there with it is the nice part. But, you are stuck buying the special cleaning refills that click into the spray head. All in all, I like this spot cleaner, and it works well!

The Shark StainForce cordless cleaner is great. It is portable and rechargeable. There are two detachable heads. One with a brush so you can scrub stains off carpet. If you flip it over, there are fins for delicate surfaces. Another is a crevice tool for touch to reach areas. The brush is removable also. It is easy to put together. There are three main pieces. The handle, the body (dirty water tank), and the tip. It comes with a stain remover solution. I was curious to see how much it would cost. You can get a two pack from Best Buy for $25, not bad. The solution actually works well with the cleaner. I did not have any stained carpet. However, I do have a mat where my stationary exercise bike sits on and there are some areas that need cleaning. It works well. After a couple of passes with the fin side of the brush, it cleaned the areas up. The caddy is cool too. It keeps everything together. The holder for the dirty water tank also serves as the tool to clean it. You fill it up with water and turn the cleaner on. It will suck up the clean water and spin it around the tank to help clean it. This cleaner is a spot cleaner. It is not meant to room size carpet. I like this stain cleaner. It is a bit loud though. If you can get past how loud it can be, I think it’s great.

I have a carpet cleaner but it doesn’t have the attachment on it so furniture, small spots and just sucking up spills on the carpet has never been an option for me. When I received this, I did need to charge it for a few hours but assembly was super simple and it even come with a nice little caddy to carry everything around. One small gripe I have about this is that it “says” it requires the Shark spray that come with it. To be clear, there is no fresh tank on this unit, it only sucks up and stores in a dirty tank so you need to spray with the included spray before sucking it up. I suppose you could probably use a carpet cleaning mixture in a spray bottle to save some money in the long run. The Shark mix works very well so far. I have cleaned bar stools, couch arms and even was able to get some chocolate melted in my suede sheets in my car from my kids eating in the back seat. The suction is every bit as strong as a plug-in machine and after cleaning all those things it’s still running strong on the original charge. Overall, very impressed with the power and the portability.

This Shark StainForce is an incredibly handy household tool. We have a larger full-size carpet cleaner, but that’s really overkill for small stains. With this it’s easy to have ready to go for spills & stains. And with a dog & two cats that happens pretty often around here. Having it all tucked together with the carrying bin is great. The two-in-one cleaning solution is a nice design. Just pop the spray handle on and both solutions are ready to go. I like this design much better than most spot cleaners that require you to mix the solution in the cleaner with water. With this, just spray the stain, scrub, and then suck it up. Simple yet effective. The cleaner itself is super easy to use. The built in battery recharges quickly. The ergonomics of the handle are nice. I really like the way you empty it. No need to take it all apart to empty. One simple hard plastic flap to open and let it drain out. The tank capacity isn’t really that big, but with it only being designed for spot cleaning it’s more than big enough. I can highly recommend this spot cleaner and with it being a Shark I don’t doubt it’s made to last.

When I received the Shark StainForce cordless portable spot and stain cleaner, I was looking forward to using it for various applications, including accidental spills, kid messes, and pet stains. The packaging was great, and the included instructions were incredibly useful. I enjoy the caddy and how little space it all takes up, and the cleaner itself isn't too loud either. Unfortunately, that's where it stops being good. I gave this a stress test, working to clean up a pet stain that had happened on carpet just before receiving it. It required the entire bottle of chemical to mostly clear it up, so now I have none to continue using it until I purchase a pricey refill. It still required the use of my more heavy duty floor cleaner which picked up liquid that remained in the carpet that the StainForce did not get. The charge lasts for maybe 15-20 minutes at a full charge before it needs charged it again. This can take up to four hours in order to get a full charge. This may not be an issue for most small issues, but in my experience, it was a problem, because it refuses to run while plugged in. I'm unsure why this was the idea that SharkNinja went with, but here we are. If you only have an occasional small accident and no pets, this may be something to consider. It's easy to store, takes up little space, and is easy to clean and maintain. If this is not you, I would probably keep looking for something else.
