This vacuum makes cleaning our house very easy. We've used several uprights, and this one may be the best at handling all the different surfaces in our house. We have a good variety of flooring to put it to work on too. We have hard woods, tile, carpet and several styles of rugs. Speaking of which, it handles our shag-style rug better than any other vacuum we've used. Typicality maneuvering over that shag rug is difficult, since the vacuum wants to either suck up the shag, or it's not strong enough to clean it. This one seems to be great at both. It also works very well on our stairs by using the attachments and removing the "pod", instead of carrying the entire vacuum up and down the stairs. My wife also appreciates the headlights on the front of the vacuum, since not all come with those, and it can definitely help to see things you may otherwise miss. It would be nice to have a small light on the handle though as well, to light up smaller or hard to reach areas when you're not using the main brush roller part. Another great thing about this vacuum is the air cleaner. It makes areas cleaned seem fresh and smell nice. While it never felt overpowering to us, it also has the option to dial down the amount that is used. It really is a nice addition that I'm surprised I haven't heard or seen this before. Setup and the mild assembly required when first using the vacuum is very simple too. Which also applies to maintenance. Every place that could possibly need maintenance is easily accessible to clean or replace if need be. It seems like it's built to last. We also haven't had any hair or fuzz wind around the main roller yet either, which is probably worth it for this vacuum alone. Pros: easy setup, powerful vacuuming, not tangled hair or fuzz, nice addition of air freshening, easy to maneuver even in typically difficult surfaces Cons: no light on handle (this is pretty much the only negative I could find with this vacuum)

My old Shark unit of almost 10 years had a plastic piece bust on me, affecting its direction. Although this happened, the motor kept on performing excellently...much to my pets dismay. Instead of becoming frustrated with each stroke of the unit, I knew it was time for a new vacuum. Best Buy offered many different brands on sale but Shark's are the best for performance and quality. You won't be disappointed EVER.

Does a great job. A little noisy for my taste, 'driving' it takes a bit of learning curve.

I needed to replace my dyson (had it 4 years and the vacuum head stopped spinning) i used my geek squad protection and got the value of my dyson to put towards a new vacuum (SO USEFUL!) i did some research about best vacuums for pets, carpets- low and high, this one really caught my eye, it has all the attachments that i will actually use, the sucking power is great and the unit is not too heavy, the canister detaches easily for getting hard to reach places. It is a little on the nosier side of vacuums I've had but the end result is worth it! Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent vacuum with amazing suction! Electrical cord is longer than most and attachments are very functional. Handle detaches to get into small spaces and crevices including stairs.

Great vacuum. Great suction. Multifunctioning. Only complaint, is a lack of attachements.

Excellent suction and have not had an issue with hair getting caught in rollers. Only issue is how bulky and heavy it is. Overall great vacuum cleaner!!

I purchased the Shark - Stratos Upright Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins HairPro, Self-Cleaning Brushroll, Odor Neutralizer Technology - Navy for its suction power, and because of Shark vacuums we purchased in the past. They are high quality, backed by a great warranty, and they work better than the competition. This vac is by far Sharks best to date. It works exceptionally well cleaning up litter from our three cats, and works even better on general floor dirt. I would highly recommend this vac even though it is on the heavy side, but is well balanced, and works effortlessly. You will not be disappointed, especially if you have pets.

This is the best Shark that I have owned. The suction is greater than my last Shark. I really like the location of the on/off switch.

It has strong suction. Love the brush head. Picks up hair swiftly. It is heavy to maneuver but the job it does is what counts.

Had a Dyson for 12 years, switched to this because everyone raved a out them.i like that it's a mechanical drive rather than belt drive which Is what I liked Dyson. The multi uses to get under stuff and use the wand is way better however. Great suction, we love it

This Shark Stratos vacuum is in a class above the rest! The absolute best vacuum I've ever owned. Beyond powerful suction on all types of flooring. Easy to assemble & use. Self cleaning brushroll is awesome. I have had many other high end vacuums & none of those can compare to this one.

Love the power of this vacuum and have just started using it. I love how much it picks up dust. Not sure it gets the where the wall meets the floors in some places that have molding well with using an attachment. The attachment extra falls off of the holder on the side while using the vacuum which can be frustrating.

I never bought a vacuum before. But I was told this had good suction and features. The features came in handy a bunch of times and I also felt how strong suction it had. The cons: 1. The tube that moves with the handle is not easily stretchable and make using the handheld feature hard to use, especially when you have higher suction power turned on. 2. The vacuum throws out a lot of heat but idk if that's really a bad thing or not, you can appreciate that if its actually working hard for you. 3. its heavy when using it for carpet but I think you can get used to the weight after some uses.

What a great vacuum! We love shark vacuums and this one is even better than the last! The swivel head is nice and the lift away feature is handy. Love the slide bar to release the dirt. No more dirty hands! This thing picks up so well. When vacuuming our hard surfaces, if there are leaves or thicker debris, I have to switch it to carpet mode to pick it up, otherwise it pushes it around. Only thing I’ve found that hits a slight negative remark. Otherwise it’s a great machine!

After owning 3 Dyson vacuum cleaners, I finally decided to try a Shark. The Dyson's were great and lasted about 6 years each, but the last two were really hard to push over our carpets. The Shark Stratos Upright is awesome on all of our carpets and on the hardwood. It has excellent suction. The canister lifts off and travels easily. Leaning it for vacuuming and standing it up are super easy relative to the Dysons. It makes child's play of our ever shedding dog fur. After a month of use it has exceeded our expectations. Definitely glad we bought this vacuum.

BEST VACUUM EVER! Dont think twice when comparing to other models. The suction is unmatched and the different ways to unhook and use it making it lighter for stairs is amazing. This vacuum is multi-purpose to help you in any situation you may need it. It has a total of 3 different suction points; handheld suction, wand suction, and regular bottom suction. The odor neutralizer is also a nice touch that isn't overpowering and you are able to adjust the scent strength; the scent is very clean smelling!

Lives up to control of odor and dust. Great suction and especially like the powered lift away. Makes doing stairs very easy.
