Super Versatile for a tower style fan.

Let's start with the quick and simple first. As far as tower fans go, this one is absolutely great. Overall, it's probably one of the most unique fans I've seen in the market so far, and I love the versatility of it. It looks strange at first with the fin-styled arms, but the way they have designed this thing really makes it easy to get the air where you want it. Both halves of the arm can pivot to direct the air wherever you want, separate of each other, and the fact that you can then rotate the arm so that it’s horizontal to the ground gives you even more coverage over an area than you can normally get with something like a normal tower fan. I also like the fact that you don’t give up normal features like oscillation even with this “strange” design. I will note, however, if you have it in the horizontal layout, you need to be careful if it’s in oscillation mode; the wider arm can tend to knock stuff over if you’re not careful. Overall, I’m happy with the fan, and it does what it needs to without any issues so far. One other nice thing is the remote stores on the body of the fan by magnets, so it’s a lot easier to not lose the remote as well, which is a nice touch. Overall, if you’re looking for a tower-style fan with a little more versatility, this is a great option.

This unique and powerful fan has you covered...with cool air...from anywhere in the room. In all seriousness, I wasn't sure what to make when I first put the Shark TurboBlade together. First, let me say that constructing it was easy. My 4 year old even helped me, and he loves to turn it on and maneuver the blades in different positions. Anyway, after constructing it I noticed that it was sturdier than anticipated. Additionally, while it is heavier than anticipated, I actually like that about it because it adds a good deal of stability to the base. As far as functionality goes, it's both straight forward and advanced. Straight forward in that you turn it on, select the power and cool air comes out. Advanced because you can literally focus the air on the X, Y, or Z axis....while rotating. While I've only been able to test it during the cool spring months, this is going to come in very handy on those hot days because we don't have A/C. I can literally stand on one end of the garage and easily feel the breeze all over my body when the fan is at max power on the other side of the garage. Based on the flexibility of aiming the breeze and the power of the fan, I definitely recommend.

Space age fan that can move air

This is one of the most unique fans I've seen. But it's space-age looks are also what give it versatility. I will say, the only part that motorized (besides the fan itself), is the b side-to-side oscillation. The fan can turn at the base to rotate the whole fan nearly a whole 180 degrees. Otherwise, rotating the "wings" to horizontal or vertical (or anywhere in-between), setting the height, and rotating the wing vents themselves are all done manually. The air comes in from the back of the base, and it has a rinsible screen filter to catch some dust and hair. There is an on/off button on the fan base, but the rest of the controls are with the wireless remote, which has a magnet in it, so it can be stuck to the fan (or any other magnetic material). It makes nice soft chimes when changing the settings (which can be turned off). With the remote, you can set fan speed, toggle oscillation, set a timer, or if it's not oscillating, you can adjust direction of the fan. There are about 12 different direction degrees you can turn the fan to. It then also has 3 specialty modes: sleep, boost, and natural. Sleep just seems to be a slow gentle breeze. Boost is basically the exact opposite, a very high fan speed. Natural varies the fan speed. The fan is a little on the loud end of things, especially at the higher fan speeds. But it's more of a "Shhhhhhh", almost like a running sink. Overall, it's a pretty neat fan, and when in vertical mode, can fit in tight spaces and move a lot of air.

So my wife’s first reaction to the fan is that it takes up way too much room… then I moved the blades vertically she immediately said oh that works, that should go in the loft. I was having way too much fun seeing putting it in random places to get air moving in different directions. One place I really like it was at the end of the bed where I could have air blowing on my side of the bed and then point the other side up into the ceiling as my wife hates air on her. I also put it behind the corner couch and then pointed a blade each direction so air wasn’t blowing directly onto the couch but air was moving around the couch nicely. I really like ability to move air around with each of the blades. It was easy enough to put together and for me it has plenty of strength for air movement. I think the only issue I have with it is that it is too quiet for sleep. I love the fan noise when sleeping… more so than the actual air movement. One could get a much more energy efficient noise machine I suppose but that would be too reasonable. If you want it in an area that people want to talk with while using the cooling aspect of air movement that the quietness might be a benefit. The fanbase rotates but the rest of it is manual configuration, otherwise you might need a game controller to move it into all the different possible configurations. The ‘blades’ can be rotated as well as the face of the fan from horizontal to vertical. So, if you put this at the corner of a hallway and say the living room, one fan can move air in two different areas, which I love. Overall, I am a fan of this design.

    Energy Efficient Cooling

I run a little hotter than most people so I have to have fan running almost all season. My preference is for the tower fans because of the lower noise and more focused blast of air. I figured I'd give the TurboBlade a shot since my other brand of bladeless fan left a bad taste - or bad whine in all three units. I'm gonna start this off by mention how energy efficient the TurboBlade is. At full blast it only draws 53w! I have some fans that pull that much on low. My current tower fan hits 34 on low, but at that setting it's about setting 6 on the TurboBlade and quiter. On setting 5 for the TurboBlade, which is a perfect setting for lower noise and air movement the draw is only 15w! Hooking it up to my portable battery and it can run for around 9hrs uninterrupted. Great for a power outage when you're stuck in a 90F house with no air movement like the 8 days Helene had us out. Assembly was easy and toolless. Everything snaps and twists into place and you're ready to go in no time. As much as I like the TurboBlade the one thing I don't like is the high pitch whistle. I'm not sure if it's the motor beneath or because of the thin slits the air is pushed through in the "blades", but that whistle can wear you down. Setting 5 seems to be the best to keep the noise down while pushing enough air to be useful. Going down to 3 changes the pitch to a higher whine so I'm staying away from that speed. So it's a great fan, just make sure you can deal with the noise. Some people are more sensitive to higher pitches than others.

    Very Well Made Fan

I had a fan that we used to more or less circulate the air through our home so we wouldn’t have to use the mode on our HVAC that was expensive to run, and it finally gave out. It was a hypersonic as it was advertised so I wanted something similar. I sure am glad I received this Shark tower fan. It is very sleek and aesthetically pleasant, when our neighbor saw it just the other day she wanted to know what it was, she didn’t realize it was a fan, we had the “blade” in the horizontal position. The thing I truly love about this tower fan is that it is extremely quiet, that at times I have to walk near it to see if it’s on. And when Shark says it’s Ultra-powerful they mean it, we keep it on medium speed most of the time and it will move the curtains on our front windows and they are about 40’ away. I also like the fact that its base is heavy enough that our granddaughter who is a toddler cannot push it over and the fact there are not blades for her to stick her inquiring little fingers into. This is a very well made, pleasant looking fan that does not take up a lot of room like most box fans do. Again, it is very quiet, but also very powerful. The settings panel is well laid out and easy to read. It’s basically take it out of the box, plug it in and choose which setting you want and leave it. I highly recommend this Shark - TurboBlade Ultra-powerful BLADELESS Tower Fan.

Unique design with basic air flow power

The Shark TurboBlade fan is trying to make waves and put a spin on the typical household fan we have all been accustomed to. There are good and bad features of this fan that can either make it very useful or just come off as a basic fan that makes you do a double-take. From my point of view, you would need to be in the market for this style of fan to make it valuable and put to good use. For example, you want only one fan in the room but be able to cool different areas at the same time. This can be done by turning the arms accordingly. You could cool the upper and lower bunks in a child’s bedroom or aim one arm into the kitchen while the other is aimed at the living room. On the other hand. This fan may not be worth its value if you just need a basic setup to cool yourself on the couch or next to your bed while you sleep. With those scenarios aside, there are some decent features. The top feature is the bladeless design. This may be a selling point for families with small children and their little fingers getting near typical bladed fans. As mentioned, the dual-cooling could be beneficial also. I do like the ‘dust trap’ on the back since I noticed many of my bladed fans tend to collect dust/debris which ends up blowing back into the room. There are two negative features that lowers my review…. the air flow quality and cost. I feel the power of the air flow is not as great as one would expect from such a unit. I compared it side by side with a 15 inch round, bladed fan from a 12 foot distance with both units at their highest setting. Unfortunately, the cheap bladed fan was comparable, if not better, than the Shark.
