It is the same model but completely new & improved. She absolutely loves it! It warms up food in literally seconds and the white looks so beautiful and fancy! Great purchase.

I was having surgery that would restrict my walking up/down the stairs. This microwave is awesome, I love the fact that it is 1000 watts, really handy.

So I checked out what was available at a reasonable price. The Sharp was a good price and I also had rewards. I am very happy with the choice. Not fancy but it meets my needs. Also it’s very quiet.

Bare bones microwave

The tech hasn't changed in forty years and this unit feels that age. It works. It takes awhile for the unit to off-gas. It's loud. Has an annoying beep. Interface is super old programming. Does the job, but it should cost a third of what it is.

Power cord too short

The microwave seems to work just fine, but the power cord is so ridiculously short! The operations manual talks about "longer cord sets or extension cords are available", though when I called Sharp customer service regarding the how short the power cord is....they knew nothing of longer cord sets. And I will never use an extension cord on a kitchen appliance. The power cord is so short, I now have to move the microwave cart off center (from where it's been positioned for the last 23 years) just to reach the outlet. I'd like someone to explain to me why the power cord is so short. Table lamps have longer power cords!!!

The last one, a GE, lasted only 2 months. the cook settings and buttons are easily accessible and standard. Thought I would try a different brand.
