Just hit any number button and it is set for that amount of minutes. Hit the start button and it will be set for 30 minutes. The buttons are so light to the touch and are great for arthritic hands,

A little noisy but again it's not expensive. One issue I do have is it does not sit flat on all four feet, in fact sent first one back for the same issue. Second one is the same, thin bottom Styrofoam packaging in box was broken in both and that bent base up a little in one corner, so shipping and handling is a little rough.

Replaced a 17 year-old Sharp Carousel microwave that stopped working. This new one has more functions and features, such as 1-button express start and ability to change power level while cooking. 1000W is enough to cook fast.
