Very easy to set up just put the glass tray in pull off the protective film on the front and plug it in and you’re ready to go. Clock was also super easy and intuitive to set. Works like you would expect and has some additional features that I wasn’t expecting. You can actually change the power level mid cycle which is a nice plus and something I appreciate if you feel like it’s getting too hot (like you hear food popping or sizzling or if you don’t hear that) you know you can drop it down or increase it up on the fly. Like most microwaves, you can’t use the timer and cooking at the same time - it’s one or the other. It has a nice clean lines / stainless aesthetic look to it and feels pretty sturdy opening and closing the door. The beep is a little bit loud and not alterable, but you'll know when it's done if you're in another room. It also has multistage cooking, which allows you to set two different cook levels for two different time frames like defrost and then cook with one cooking setup. Has both a 30 second quick hit (just hit start) and also has 1-6 min one touch start as well. Cooking works well and easily heats up a drink, reheats a dinner plate, popcorn was actually quicker than I’m used to (only 1 min 40 secs!) and cooked a potato pretty well with the potato button. I needed to add 1 min to the potato, but think it’s basing it on an average potato and I might have been cooking a slightly larger potato. Overall pleased with this mid size microwave.

It doesn’t make loud noice when in use. I love this unit.

SHARP has included the main essentials needed for a microwave with the design of their SMC1162 HS Stainless Steel Countertop product. Considered a mid-sized design, its capacity is 1.1 Cu. Ft., and it comes with a 12.4” glass turntable. The product is represented in a small and sleek package, but it is a full-featured microwave oven. The 1000 W output oven has been designed with 11 power levels and several preset buttons to make cooking, defrosting, and re-heating convenient to use and efficient. Auto Defrost, is designed to determine accurately and automatically various defrost times of meat, poultry and fish based on weight. It worked very well on 1 lb. of frozen ground beef, and again on two frozen pork chops. I also found the Express Cook feature to be another plus because it offers one-touch cooking for up to six minutes. With use of the +30 key, time can be added throughout the cooking process. The sleek Stainless Steel cabinet finish is suitable for any décor, and I prefer the darker interior finish over the traditional standard white because it looks nicer and fresher. That being said, does not mean that it does not still get food splattered on it, but the finish of the darker interior is much easier to wipe clean. The oven is light in weight and is only 11.8” high, 20.6” wide and 14.7” deep, which makes it very suitable for various countertop applications. The LED is very clear to read and illuminates brightly. I have never owned an Orville Redenbacher’s Certified microwave before this, but this microwave oven has been designed to achieve optimal popping results from the microwave popcorn genius’ company Orville Redenbacher. The “Popcorn” preset button allows for choices between Orville Redenbacher’s Classic Size of 3.3 oz. or their Single Serve Mini Bag of 1.16 oz popcorn. I had to go purchase some mini single bags just to give it a try and it did pop the popcorn with perfection. This is a great little microwave suitable for many applications. It would work well in an assisted living facility, dormitory room, apartment, rental units, on a kitchen counter of any size kitchen, or on a basement bar in a family/tv room. It looks very sleek and nice and has all the features needed for a microwave to be efficient and convenient to use. The price point for this product is excellent in comparison to similar choices that do not seem to have all the features that this one has incorporated into the design.

So if your in the market for a very nice microwave sub $150 look no farther. I as probably a ton of you reading this have owned several microwaves but i'm telling you from experience this is a very nice microwave and your not going to break the bank buying it. So one thing i never seem to get correct when using a microwave is that popcorn setting. It says on the front of other microwaves you either have used or even probably own rite now a single button to make your life easier to set back and relax eating a bag of popcorn by pressing a single button that says popcorn only to be sadly disappointed when you open the bag and the popcorn is burnt or full of popcorn kernels that never popped. Well after buying this microwave i was thinking what do i want to try first after the simple initial set up with the clock. How about make that microwave dinner that's been setting in my freezer for a week now,No wait i want to try the popcorn button and see how this pans out. So come to find out this microwave is Orville Redenbacher's Microwave popcorn pre set. So after opening the bag and seeing white not burn or a bunch of kernels i could not be happier with the popcorn setting for once. Come to find out after reading about the popcorn setting it is tuned for popping the best bag of Orville Redenbacher's Microwave popcorn you will ever enjoy. It has an interior light so you can keep an eye on your food cooking. Also its stainless steel look matches my refrigerator that i bought at best buy also, so it's nice to have a matching kitchen. It is a 1000 watt with a big microwave area to cook in. So it has the power and size to handle anything you can throw at it. There are several pre set settings for a simple press and cook setting and so far they have been rite on making the food good not over or undercooked. Another feature i love if the press of a button you can add 30 seconds of cook time or press it several times to add 30,60,90 seconds and so on. So if you have a feeling the food is not quite to your desired temperature just tap the start button to add more time. It's easy to clean the outside and inside. The glass plate inside the microwave comes out easy for easy clean up if you make a mess and easy to set rite back into place. No looking for a certain position for the plate to set before it spins or worrying about it coming off and not spinning. So if you're looking for an inexpensive very nice looking and a popcorn setting that actually works look no farther.

I’ve had the opportunity to try out the Sharp microwave oven. It came in a big box. I didn’t realize it was a very big unit. It measures 20 inches across, 14.7 inches deep and is 11.8 inches high. It is ready to use as soon as you take it out of the box. Just make sure you take the sticky plastic off of it. Inside the microwave is a glass cooking tray with the roller guide. I started off with a simple trial, the 30 second timer. I had some cold soup and put it in a bowl and heated it using the 30 second timer. It warmed it up but I had to use an additional 30 seconds (1 minute total) to heat up the soup. But it was hot after the minute. The soup was not frozen or chunky. It it was, it would take longer to cook. Next I tried a bag of popcorn. There is a button you can push for the popcorn. If you press once you’ll see “3.3”. That’s the ounces of the bag. If you press twice you’ll see “1.16”. Pick the size of your popcorn bag and press start. It popped the kernels very well. I was very pleased with how much was popped. After that I tried a frozen pizza. You press the frozen pizza button until you have selected the weight of your pizza then press start. I got an even cook for my pizza. I didn’t not have a frozen middle part. I was very happy with the way it cooked the pizza. The microwave is very easy to use and cooks great. I would recommend.

This was a step up for me, both in size and quality, and I am very happy with it. It is solid, easy to clean, heats evenly, is fairly quiet, and has a pleasant end-of-cycle tone. I have warmed food, made hot drinks, heated frozen plant-based tenders, and made oatmeal so far. I look forward to heating frozen dinners, really loving the convenience.

Unit is 12” tall and will fit under cabinets. Some of the larger units will not fit under kitchen cabinets. Rotating roller assembly was a little tight to insert in hole. You must find the exact position and firmly push it into place All buttons work as advertised. Compared to my flush mount unit that is 1200 watts this 1000-watt unit heats noticeably slower. Rotating assembly is noisy due to the glass sliding over the bottom roller assembly during use and some other unidentified sounds. Front control panel protective covering was difficult to remove/don’t forget. At the advertised price at Best Buy, this is a bargain. I find it amazing that these units with all the parts and weight can sell at this price. Transformer, capacitor, magnetron etc are expensive items in terms of material used to produce. The unit is slightly above normal for noise during operation (rotating tray assembly most likely). Warning beeps can be disabled but not adjusted. SILENT MODE To activate the silent mode: In waiting state, press and hold “8” for 3 seconds. A long beep will sound. When you press the keys, it does not make a sound.This also disables the end of cooking reminder. To deactivate the silent mode: In silent mode, press and hold “8” for 3 seconds. A long beep will sound. When you press the keys, it will make a sound. Sharp has a long reputation for making quality products that are designed properly. They are dependable, reliable, user friendly, and at the right price point. This could be an even smaller unit as it is a large/medium size unit. Microwave ovens have been around for so long now, it's hard to find something to set one apart from another. Sharp has been a manufacturer of small appliances for a long time and the sturdiness, reliability and features offered by their products are all on par and even above the competition. The unboxing and setup was easy, it's basically "plug and play". If you are short on counter space or need a model that will fit pretty much everywhere, this microwave might be the one for you. Its 1.1 cu ft capacity is plenty if you don't have a huge family to cater to. Another important spec is the wattage: 1000W is the standard nowadays, with other units of the same size usually sitting sometimes well below that. The exterior has a brushed metal finish which looks great. The control panel is a glossy black and offers a very intuitive set of functions. Note that it's a fingerprint magnet. After using it for a week, I was unable to find any real problems with it and it has performed really well in every scenario. I would recommend this Sharp microwave oven as it is well built, has a great design and works like a charm. I have had another (bigger) model which lasted for about 5 years without a hitch. It's a solid and powerful microwave with the options you need for everyday use. Recommended!

Great smallish microwave. Easy to read and use controls. Not loud. Cooks as fast as an 1100 or some 1200 w microwaves. Sweet.

This stainless steel and black microwave is classic and fits beautifully on counter top. It works effectively and heats up dishes very quickly without being noisy. Though it’s compact, the internal space could accommodate large portions. Great product for money.

I don't normally give any product 5 stars. I start with the average of 3 and then determine if the product is worth more. I have now been using this product for 2 years. It works just as well as the ones from the past which is unusual in current times. There was on thing that did take a minute to figure out but only a couple of times. If you do time cook under 10 minutes and manually enter it you can press 400 or use the 4 minute button. But if you use the timer and it is under 10 minutes you must start with a 0 and enter like this. 0400. Once you are use to it no big deal. In the reviews others have commented on it being loud if I remember. Not to me it is not and it cooks well. I am glad I made this choice over the other ones I was looking at. It was a few dollars higher than my other two choices, but sometimes a small and I mean small difference is worth the price. In my case I think it was $15 difference. I would buy this again and recommend it as a good product.

Absolutely love it and not too big for the area I need it to go in even though the box does look big. It’s easy 1 touch programmable minutes is faster for the kids to just press 1 for the 1 minute cooking time. Warms up quick and is very quiet when cooking.
