I did a bunch of research, too much research. This is a very good microwave. That is very quiet. Consumer reports rates it as the quietest brand I compared it to the Panasonic 1.2 capacity at 1200 Watts. The reason I chose this one is that it is 1100 Watts which, as it turns out is what most frozen foods are timed for. I can simply follow the instructions on the back of the frozen meal. I would like to say that I do a lot more variety of cooking, but I don’t I didn’t wanna have to do the math all the time for a 1200 watt oven or a 1000 watt. You can look it up on Google and Google agrees 1100 W is the standard for instructions. The keypad has more options and is more intuitive than the Panasonic. It has the instant on buttons for one to six minutes. And it also has the add 30 seconds/start button. Both have the same sensors, but this one has more sensor buttons with the type of food that you were cooking. I also tested the Alexa that works with a smart, smart phone only and also works with an Alexa device. It has 200 different commands. it works very well and I can see someone who is older or just wants to talk to their microwave finding this a Great option. I think both are Panasonic and the Sharp are attractive in the same way. The other reason I didn’t choose the Panasonic is because of all the reliability concerns. There are a lot of reviews that talk about them lasting a couple of years. My last sharp lasted over 30 years. It actually still works fine but is just 650 watts. This and the Panasonic both have the inverter, which means that at 50% power it turns it down 50% versus toggling on full power and off power back-and-forth. This Sharp is quiet in both modes. The reason that I bought at Best Buy is because they offer a four year warranty for just $35 on this price of microwave. If it lasts four years, it will keep on going. I think for the Panasonic you have to get the warranty because of all the reviews stating they die after one or two years. It’s a major hassle to need to return a microwave that is busted. This microwave is lighter because of the inverter, like all inverter microwaves, But it feels solid, and there are no rattles when cooking. I have not tried the microwave of popcorn yet, but they seem to have gone to the trouble of getting a certification from Orville Redenbacher, so I expect that the popcorn feature will work well. I wonder if they do anything special with the power rating when in the Auto button for popcorn. So overall, this is slightly bigger than the Panasonic. It’s a midsize microwave. It looks very good in person. It has inverter cooking and is very quiet. I can recommend it.

I looked hard for a replacement 1100 watt microwave with invertor technology to save energy but one that would fit in our 24" under counter cabinet which was designed for a built-in. But the built-ins stick out and we have a angle corner cabinet next to it so the door wouldn't work. In short, they are way overpriced to provide the same unit function at 80% less in cost. Sharp, which is always my first choice brand, and a leader in microwaves for years, made sure this was a perfect fit and designed it in stainless steel. Very sleek and quiet too. Someone in the Sharp company was sharp to make a unit that can also fit in these standard base cabinets and in case someone like me doesn’t wat to use a built-in unit. Modifying the cabinet didn’t make sense to me as I didn’t want to worry about a future replacement fitting in the existing modification. Might not fit! And the people at Sharp made this puppy work with Alexa in mind. So if need be, we don’t have to look at the easy to read control panel that has Orville Redenbacher’s (our favorite) certified popcorn preset and auto cook feature. Just tell Alexa the settings and it gets to work for you. I say this because I could never read the labels on the old unit. As for the fit, it’s 20 2/5” wide yet I don’t understand showing specifications in a fraction no one ever uses. If you need to know, 1/5” equals 0.2 as a decimal so the unit width is 20.4 inches wide. Thanks Sharp.

The wi-fi feature never worked properly out of the box. It lost contact repeatedly with a wi-fi access point 15 feet away running around 250 Mb/s. It wouldn't adjust the clock for Daylight Savings. I finally just gave up (I am an IT pro and RARELY give up) and set the clock manually, which is really easy. I don't use Alexa, so this was not a big deal. However, a couple of days ago, it started making a noise I describe as a fan blade scraping or a fan bearing failing. Either way, disturbing for a product purchased in September 2023. When the thing finishes heating, you can hear the fan slow down and the scraping/clicking noise increase. It's disturbing as I suspect the fan that cools the magnetron is failing. Now I have to find a local service place that does Sharp warranty work, and be without it for a while, which is annoying, especially because it replaced a Sharp microwave that lasted 12 years until a plastic part finally broke in its door latching mechanism, The reliability of that old one had me looking for another Sharp unit/ A disappointing purchase so far, despite the fact that when it works it's terrific.

The microwave works well for the most part - heats evenly and is very quiet. But I was disappointed in the Soften/Melt feature. I do a lot of baking and was looking to replace an older microwave that had separate soften/melt functions as I used it to soften butter, cream cheese, etc. This microwave has one combined function which only melts everything - there is no way to differentiate between melt and soften.

Wanted one as similar as possible to my old one. This mostly worked. They made the controls for timing a bit more cumbersome, but other than that, it works great.

Was looking for an 1,100 watt microwave because many frozen meals recommend an 1,100 watt microwave. Works well. Cooks food evenly and thoroughly. Only complaint is it takes up a little more counter space than I wanted.

1st mw was a sharp, went back to it and it works fine

I am very happy with this microwave oven. I love the sensor reheat feature especially. It makes microwave popcorn perfectly, with almost no unpopped kernels.

This is a very good Microwave and I got it as promised and on time. It is easy to use and that comes from a 73 year old and I live alone.

Got my mom a early birthday present, click the popcorn button once for a small bag for a bugger bag click two times. The open button is very responsive, outside stainless steel easy to clean.

Perfect for the space in my kitchen. I love how efficient it is in warming up my food. It also has a very sleek look to it that fits in well with my kitchen.

I was able to exchange an LG Microwave i received as gift from Cousin in Florida without any difficulty. I exchanged it at the best buy store in Crossgate Mall in Albany.
