cannot get a "display" to show

I've tried to contact Sharp but they are not very helpful so far. They want me to email my receipt to rove when I bought it.

Given the range of modes it will play and the quality of the speakers - commented on often - it is my go-to system for the office. I hope it is NEVER discontinued, only upgraded along the way as it has been.
