Faulty remote out of box

Spent over an hour swapping batteries and looking up any solutions online. Sharp customer service closed for the day. All in all, I missed mostly of Nadal’s match— and just walked out of Best Buy with a remote that looks older, but the guy there said it should work. What a PAIN!

What’s not expected is buying brand new and the remote doesn’t work. Not a big deal right? Just change channel manually....NOPE! This tv only comes with an on/off button. No channel, volume, menu, input. Seriously?! Who sat at the round table and said “You know what would be a great idea is if we didn’t put buttons on the tv at all?” Then everyone else agreed, shook hands, and the guy got a raise. C’mon folks it’s 2020. All the technology in the world and this was the idea you came up with. Wouldn’t buy again. Luckily we have other roku remotes in the house so now we just have to program to the tv were using on until we buy another. Great job guys!
