I have it in our office. Works great as an extra monitor. I connect it wirelessly with Windows 10 and we can use it for conferences or casting any media from PC. Built-in ROKU is a bonus.

Great value for the $. I thought I was buying a Sharp TV but it’s licensed to another company. Easy set up, easy hook up to WIFi, no problems. Works as advertised.. better than expected. The picture depends on the feed.. no complaints so far. For the 169$ I spent I give it a thumbs up, kudos to Best Buy, arrived on time and in perfect condition,

I have 2! Purchased at different time. My first purchase is approximately 5 years old & no problems just need to keep the Roku updated. Love the sleep feature. Turns off the movie & you can pick it back up later.

Love the ROKU built-in onto the TV. We don’t have Cable, so we love the streaming apps already installed. No problems with the TV so far. Glad we purchased it.

I got this TV with the Black Friday deal. I did pose a question asking if PLEX could be installed. Sharp Adviser refused to answer and someone else gave an incorrect answer. The correct answer is Yes. PLEX and many other apps can be installed here. I know because the TV is sitting in my house right now with PLEX installed. It took less than a minute to install PLEX.
So, from opening the box to watching TV took me about an hour and a half. I first had to disconnect and remove the old TV. When pulling this TV out of the box I was amazed at how light it was. I lay it on the bed and screwed the two stands on to the bottom. I placed the TV on the table and connected three HDMI cables. Satellite, Blu-Ray player and an older DVD/VHS player as well as a coax for an external antenna. I plugged the TV in to power and it automatically powered up into the setup mode which it walks you through.
It quickly connected to my 5g network whereupon it spent several minutes automatically updating it’s software. I first checked the satellite connection and that worked fine. I then went to the antenna connection and let it scan for channels which again took a few minutes as it scanned for both over the air broadcast signals and cable signals. (I have no cable.) I then went through and hid (you can’t remove them completely) any over the air channels I didn’t want.
Netflix and Amazon Prime apps (they’re called channels here) were already installed along with a number of other apps I don’t use. I installed Pluto, PLEX and half a dozen other apps and removed the apps I don’t use. There are hundreds of apps, channels and games available although some do cost. Either a flat fee or a subscription or you must have a cable or satellite subscription to use them. Menus and response times are plenty fast – especially considering the internet in the rural area I live in is extremely slow.
It’s true what others say that you can’t pair a Bluetooth device unless you have already paired a Roku speaker with the TV. So if you have a Bluetooth soundbar you want to pair with this TV, it’s not going to happen. You have to own or purchase a Roku Bluetooth speaker. The televisions speakers are fine with me. So, you can’t connect your phone to the TV via Bluetooth to listen to music or watch videos from your phone. I don’t have a Roku speaker so can’t tell if it would work in that case.
It does have two analog audio output jacks and one optical audio output jack. Your soundbar probably has one or the other of these and likely sits in front of your TV so although you can’t connect it via Bluetooth (unless it’s a Roku speaker) one of these connections should serve just fine. (My experience with sound bars taught me that the sound bar connects to the TV via optical cable, analog or ARC (HDMI 1 on this TV is ARC) and the sound bar connects to it’s own sub woofer via Bluetooth. I’m sure that’s not always the case though.)
The remote is very simple and easy to use. The volume and mute buttons are on the side similar to most cellular phones. (I hate that feature and the volume and power buttons on my phone are on the back of the phone.) So I have to get used to that. The remote has those stupid dedicated buttons for certain streaming services. In this case, Netflix, Hulu, Sling and NOW. I don’t use these buttons and have always found them frustrating. Accidentally hit the Netflix button when picking up the remote to change a channel on Pluto, (or what ever you happen to be watching that is not Netflix), and you exit Pluto, have to wait for Netflix to start up and then you can switch back to Pluto. It would be nice if someone would provide a remote that made these buttons programmable so you can set them to select whatever streaming services you actually use or even be able to program them to other functions. I only use one of the services provided on these dedicated buttons and still don’t want the button. Of course, Sharp and Roku undoubtedly get paid by the streaming services for including these dedicated buttons. Even if you could reprogram them, you will still be pressing them accidentally. I’ll be opening up the remote and sticking some electrical tape under these buttons. Arrrrghh! Speak of the devil! I just accidentally hit the Sling button! No! I don’t want to sign up for Sling! Grrrrr.
I installed the Roku app on my phone. It connects to the television via WiFi not Bluetooth. The button configuration is slightly different than the TV’s remote. The volume buttons are on the screen of course as well as a keyboard icon, which I haven’t tried, and a headphone icon. Plug headphones into your phone or connect wireless headphones to your phone via Bluetooth and you can listen to streaming and over the air content on the headphones by tapping this icon. Tap it again to turn the feature off. No headphones? The sound will come out of your phones speaker. Tapping this headphone icon automatically mutes the TV speakers so sound only comes out of your headphones. The volume buttons on the remote or phone app do nothing when using headphones. You must adjust volume using the phones volume and the headphone volume controls. For some reason you can’t use this headphone feature when watching satellite television. It works with streaming content and over the air content only. I tested this and it’s a fact. I chose satellite and the icon got a red line through it. Try tapping it and get a message telling you it’s not available.
You can plug a USB thumb drive into this TV to enable use of the pause live TV feature. This feature only works with streaming services. It will pause a program for up to ninety minutes and allow you to start, stop, fast forward and rewind. However, you can’t actually record and save programs. Also, if you should pause a program and change channels, your paused program is immediately and completely deleted from your USB thumb drive and you can’t go back and watch it.
Now, I bought the 40 inch HDTV and not the 4k version. I’m not a videophile. I just want to watch TV. The picture and sound are plenty good for my purposes and I have no complaints other than those dedicated streaming buttons on the remote, but that seems to be an industry standard now-a-days. $$$ This model must be a Best Buy exclusive as I was unable to find it on the Sharp website at all. Actually, for the price I paid for this TV I am pretty much ecstatic. This is only day one of using so I hope it’s not one of those TV’s that craps out in three months. As for now, I highly recommend this television. It’s far from top of the line, but I’m sure it will meet the needs of an average TV viewer like me.

Poor - Bad Service

It's hard to estimate the product because the installation service was bad and we did not get to enjoy it - we had it less than a week before it fell. Attached is a picture showing the way the BB serviceman set it up - on a table that was too small. It was precarious and fell easily. It was very disappointing. We also paid for 2-3 years of Geek Squad protection and have not been reimbursed for anything including the television. It should never have been set up like that.

Pros: This tv has a really nice picture. The Roku platform is really easy to use. It’s a great value.
Cons: I find the sound a bit muffled. I sometimes have to turn the volume up to 60 to hear. Other channels are adequate with 30. So you have to go up and down. I didn’t want to buy a sound bar but I think I’ll have to.
I would still recommend this tv especially at the $160 sale price! I had an Element 4K smart tv but the picture was terrible if anything you watched was not in 4K. I traded it in for this one with the old 1080p technology which is plenty for a 40” tv. Glad I did. I would give it a 4.5 Overall rating if I could.
Minor usability complaint with the remote. The mute button is on the side and is right below the up/down buttons. It’s really easy to hit it by mistake. It can happen even when you’re just picking it up.

Where can i start..Roku remote is user friendly..The picture is pretty good from all angles. Sound is surprisingly good for a small tv..Very easy to set up out of the box as well as setting up your channels with great prompts..Im actually happier with tjis tv than i was the 55 in Sharp 4k i bought at Best Buy 3 years ago that stopped working three months back..This tv was a great buy..Not so with the 4k Sharp i bought a few years back..Its a perfect little tv for a man cave or a she shed..Great price and a good little tv over all..im pleasantly surprised..Marc C.. This Sharp ( HiSense) Roku set fits my display area perfectly. It was simple to set up. The image is great and the viewing is much improved over my previous 32" screen. I am disappointed with the Roku remote and the fact that Charter Spectrum remote works only some of the functions. So to turn on along with cable box; I need to use 2 remotes. Other than the remote issue I am pleased with the set and the very competitive price . The remote becomes less a problem as I continue to stream more and need cable TV less.

The picture quality is fantastic. The quality of the sound without other speakers or surround sound hooked up could be better. Setup is quick and easy. The menu of options is easy to navigate. The remote for the TV is a little sensitive. Some buttons will work if you barely touch them. Others need to be pressed very hard to work properly. This is not an issue if you download the Roku app onto your phone and navigate the TV from the app instead.
