This TV is sold under the Sharp brand name. However, reading the instructions, it is clear that the set is manufactured by Hisense especially for Best Buy, with the Sharp name used under license. So essentially, it is a Best Buy house branded set. The one year warranty requests that you return sets in their original packaging for repair, so be aware of that. The full manual is only available online. The built-in Roku is the best streaming hardware and software available. Given its popularity, you should be able to count on the streaming software being maintained through future upgrades (unlike some others). The TV itself is a run of the mill HDTV, nothing too special. Given the size of the screen, 4K would not improve the visible resolution, since the human eye cannot resolve images to that degree at normal viewing distances (4K make a big difference in bigger sets). The only thing 4K might add to a set this size is HDR. I found the factory settings too bright and with too much contrast. So consider reducing both for a better picture. The simple remote resembles a Roku streaming box remote with a power button and a sleep button added. Volume and mute controls are on the side of the remote. There is no number pad on the remote, so using this with an antenna would make it hard to tune to a station. Turning the TV on brings you to the Roku screen with the cable box and other inputs listed along with whatever streaming services set up. So if you use a cable or satellite box, you will have to use the TV remote to select the cable box every time. There are 3 HDMI inputs and one composite video input. Two of the HDMI inputs face downward making connections difficult and awkward (you can't see the jacks unless you lay the unit down on it's screen). There is also an optical audio (Toslink) output jack. A USB input and a headphone jack are also available near the center of the back. While potentially useful, these would be much more useful if located on the front or near one side of the TV. Sound quality is adequate, but not great. Those looking for better sound will want to consider a sound bar. In short, a good budget smaller TV with great streaming, If you stream content and want a smaller set, this is a good choice.

Great Smart TV for the pricepoint of ~$200, I have other smart tv's and wasn't looking to break the bank for this one. It's easy to use and to set up. I love the netflix + hulu button on the remote. again, if you're looking for an affordable 40' tv at a respectable price point this is a good option

Perfect size for a bedroom. Picture and sound is excellent. ROKU is the feature we were looking for; makes TV viewing easy with no cable required. Shopped around for like model/size/ROKU and Best Buy beat them all in brand & price. This purchase made one little girl very Happy on her Birthday!

Needed a new TV to go with my new PlayStation. Very first TV purchase and it's been well worth it. Vibrant color, great features (smart TV, Roku, YouTube, streaming TV, etc.) and will turn itself off if not in use after so long. I'm sure there is much more to this TV that I haven't even attempted to try yet.

First of all, this is my first smart TV/40 inch TV purchase. Secondly, I was able to buy it very cheap. It displays a vivid picture and the size of the screen is bigger than I could imagine. Also having apps on it is a very nice feature. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my smart television.

I was searching for an inexpensive but nice quality TV for our master bedroom. I was a bit apprehensive at first because of the amazingly low price tag. It seemed too good to be an actually decent TV. I purchased a 54" TCL Roku TV last year from Best Buy (and I absolutely love my TV and the Roku function!) If you are anything like myself and often misplace the remote.. you can download the ROKU app on your smart phone and use your phone as a back up remote. The app also supports your phone's keyboard, which comes in handy when you need to type in a long email and password into your new streaming apps. Based on the killer price, rave reviews, and the Roku Functions, I added it to my cart and it was delivered to my house two days later. I am very satisfied with the overall picture quality, the sound quality is quite excellent for a bedroom. I actually think it is quite loud and I never have the volume higher than 20 - unless the air conditioning is on! All in all great television!

1) There are countless FREE channels to choose from! Roku TV is my favorite, but I’ve also been able to rewatch some of my childhood shows such as Knight Rider and TMNT; using the search option, you can find if there are channels that offer what you’re looking for. 2) As long as your TV and your cellphone are on the same wifi network, you may use your phone as a remote. You can add channels on your Roku TV app, and that in turn will add those app to the TV. 3) My remote didn’t work right out of the box! I had to run back to the Best Buy to grab a spare one, but I’m glad they worked to solve that issue right away. 4) Connecting to a Cable Box is easy, so is connecting to a computer using HDMI. 5) I do wish this TV had a web browser, but you get what you pay for!

Excellent TV. Picture is very clear. Easy to set up. Access to basic Apps occurs through Roku remote. You will need to open a Roku account to use the Apps function but it was easy and free. (You do have to provide a credit card but you are only billed if you use the account for it’s paid content).

I got a deal on this TV and i really love it. It was a great price which for me was a big deal, because i didn't want to break the bank on a TV i was going to keep in my room. The quality is great and the ease of use is even better. Love that i have all my streaming systems in one place

My old TV died right before Superbowl weekend....thinking Walmart would have a better choice, within my budget, but I was wrong. Checked my Best Buy email and then ordered the TV on the spot. Picked it up at the store an hour later. Great Picture, Great Price. Am definitely pleased with this purchase.

I first bought a tv exactly like this for my husband ,. I was telling my grandson about it and he checked it out and liked it . So, I thought I would surprise him and buy him one . He loves it and say the color and sound is good. His only complaint was the little remote. How the remotes sound button on side was not good. but other than remote everything is fine.

It came with specific instructions on how to remove it from the box and hang it on the wall . Installing it was a breeze. Had they not emailed me I may have broken the screen. Best Buy did a terrific job of informing me way ahead of time. Picture is great and navigating the tv is simple

Great TV. I have a 3 smart TV's and Roku is the way to go. Samsung smart TV is sooooo sloooow to load and my Panasonic smart TV doesn't update with new apps. Want Tubi, Vudu, Pluto? With Panasonic you are out of luck. Good picture as well :)

Crystal clear picture in HD, ROKU works great, very easy to set up. Anticipating poor audio, I also bought an inexpensive sound bar, but honestly I really don't use it unless I'm watching a movie; for news or regular TV shows I just use the TV speakers which are fine.

Nice, clear picture and sound is also better than some other similar TV's. It's very easy to set-up as well. I bought this for my bedroom as I had a smaller TV that, because of the distance from the bed to the TV, I couldn't see as well...so this size TV was perfect for the area.

This is the largest TV I have ever owned. It is like having the people on the screen right in the room with me. The picture quality is great. I was looking for a Roku TV and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to purchase this at such a great price. I would buy this TV again.

We got this TV for a great price on New Years Eve. It was very easy to hook up- even for us non-techies! We love the easy access to Smart TV features- Hulu, Netflix, etc right at your fingertips. The only issue I’d say is the speakers aren’t the best quality- we often have to have it cranked in order to hear well. I guess they want us to purchase a sound bar!

I bought this TV not realizing it was a ROKU TV. It just looked like a good TV at a great price. Before I came I was kind of freaking out thinking that I wouldn't be able to use my Spectrum cable with it without jumping through hoops. But all that changed when I actually got it, plugged it in and started looking around. Adding the Spectrum cable box was super easy! I now had access to my cable, DVR, search, record series, HBO, Showtime -- everything. PLUS, I can now watch my Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and CBS All Access on this great TV! I couldn't get the last two apps on my last TV so I had to watch Star Trek and Bosch on my computer or iPad -- not great. But now, I can add any streaming service I want AND my cable is just like it was. Of course now I'm thinking just dump the cable and add all the streaming apps I want. The price was so good I didn't even have to wait for Black Friday! THANK YOU!

I can't believe what we got for the money with this TV, which we purchased for the bedroom. Great size, fine picture, good sound, built in Roku, compact easy-to-use remote. Easy to set up. I wouldn't be unhappy with this as our primary television - extraordinary value.
