Customers consistently note the 43" Roku TV's great picture quality and easy setup. Many are pleased with the smart TV features and the affordable price point. However, some users have experienced issues with the remote control, slow startup times, short lifespan, and occasional freezing when using the "Pause Live TV" option.

    Best TV for the price

Bought this as a basement man cave TV with Roku so I could avoid yet another TW cable box rental. Simply awesome for the price. $180 to replace an 8 year old Samsung I paid $1500 that pretty much died. Good picture. Watching sports can be iffy at 60hz, but I keep going back to the price. I don't think you will find a better deal. Yes the remote is weird, but there are options like creating favorites that help you get used to it. Yes it is wireless only so upgrade your network because it is 5G so I have had zero connectivity issues. I wished I had purchased 2 more.

Bought this tv 1.5 years ago. Love, loved this Roku TV until a few days ago the screen displayed green vertical pixels on the entire screen! Prior to this the sound was great, picture was beautiful and the ease of use was really nice. I, fortunately, bought a protection plan. The Geek squad is coming to my house in a week to repair. They screwed up an earlier appointment. Thank goodness I called to confirm my repair appointment...they had put my appointment into “reschedule” status by mistake. Now I have to watch tv through a green pixel screen for a week.

I originally purchased an open box item that was geek squad verified and it had issue with wifi quit working after 10-15 minutes. After couple hours (over heated most likely) worked fine for 10-15. I returned tv to store and they replaced with a new tv at no charge and this tv has been excellent. The new tv has better picture than my 65" Vizio M series that I bought six months ago. I can't say much for the sound either way as I use a 2.1 speaker system and not tv speakers. The Roku feature has been great. We have Amazon Prime and we really like the Amazon app. Overall this is the best TV I've bought for the price and when I look for a TV again I will look to Best Buy and Sharp for that TV.

Need to handle like a computer

This TV is doing is more than what was expected. Picture is clear after careful adjustments (Initial color settings was bit bright for me). Regarding sound, it is fine for me. I was not looking for a theatre effect. I use indoor antenna and inbuild Roku player (inbuilt ROKU player is the reason i brougth this TV). Roku free channels and private channels are excelent. Pictures in antenna channels are also great. No more cable bills. I noticed certain points. 1) It is bit slower to start. First need to wait until home screen comes up. Next wait until WIFI is connected. But once it is up then all are perfect. It feels like working on a computer. 2) When switching off the TV, close the roku channel then go to home screen and then switch off the tv. Initially I didn't follow this, so everytime when switched on the TV it took very long time to start. This also caused lots of intermediate freeze in different roku channels which forced me to pull the power plug. This also feels like a computer. 3) There is no way to go to antenna channels directly. Need to go to home screen and then go to antenna channels. There are no numbers in remote to go a channel directly. Remote is more Roku channels oriented. 4) When more ROKU channels are added in home screen then the TV start time is increasing. Again, it is like a computer. If you are planning to buy a TV with inbuilt ROKU player. This is a great TV. I would recommend. It exceeded my expectation, so I have given 4 stars. Not 5 stars because of TV slowness and inconvinence in using using antenna channels. I will update if I notice anything else. If Sharp, adds number buttons in the remote and introduce a way to set up the TV to directly start in antenna or cable or ROKU then this TV will be more attractive than now.

Great TV, but some sound issues

We purchased the TV new at Best Buy web site and had it delivered to our home. It was easy to setup and hooked up to the internet. It plays excellent and it took a little while to get use to the remote and we also linked our Charter cable remote to the TV so volume is no problem. The only thing that appears to be a problem and we don't know if it is the TV or Cable signal is that the volume on the TV clicks loudly and the sound drops off for a moment, then is fine. It only appears on some TV channels that we notice. We are glad we got it. Clear picture and great sound. We also have sound bar hook to it too.

    For the price....

For the price it's a nice TV. Picture quality is solid. I'm a Netflix and amazon prime user and they were easy to get working and the picture quality is 3 star. I haven't totally cut the cord so I have my digital cable plugged into the back so I can watch the non HD channels offered by my cable company. The TV lineup was fairly easy to set up. But here is my main issue with the TV part. I keep randomly losing channels and have to go back and re-scan for TV channels. For example, I was watching the golf channel. Turned the TV off and came back an hour later and when I turned the TV back on....no golf channel. The channels before and after were there but not the one I wanted to watch. Same exact thing happened this morning when I was wanting to watch a Cable news channel. I know you can hide channels in set up, but that's not what is happening. Randomly channels are disappearing and I have to go back through the process to re scan. Annoying and had I known that was going to be an issue, I would not have purchased another TV As others have pointed out, not having buttons on the TV may be a nice design for engineers but I don't like it. If you're going to also be a TV user, the remote is junk. It's fine for streaming but not for TV. Overall it's a nice set but given the issues I've had it's not as good as the overall ratings. The price still makes it worth it for my uses but I would not recommend because of my things I don't like.

I've had the TV almost a week now. Picture quality and sound are quite good. No sound bar needed. I don't have a cable subscription, so I stream everything; primarily HULU and Netflix. My only complaint about the TV is it's slow to connect to the streaming apps. Much slower than the Chromecast devices I have on my other TVs. Not a deal breaker though. This TV is in the master bedroom upstairs and I have had no issues with it connecting to WiFi even though the router is downstairs. I would recommend this TV if you're looking for a good TV at a good price.

    Perfect all-purpose Roku flat screen

I bought two of these, open box, Mainly we needed to upgrade from a 32" Sharp Plasma, 11 years old and only 1 HDMI. These are for the bedrooms. We use Roku all the time and wanted to eliminate the extra device. The set up was easy, the hardest part was finding how to default the Direct TV screen (go to settings, system, power, screen -EZ) and screwing in the legs. The picture is terrific, the sound suprisingly good. The programming is no different than separate Roku device so you need the username and password for netflix, amazon, hbo etc.

    Excellent TV For Price

I bought this tv to replace my older 32 inch in my studio apartment. I wanted a smart tv and a bigger screen. This tv has exceeded my expectations. Excellent picture, great sound, and perfect size for viewing from all over my studio. The Roku part was the biggest sell for me. I think it is the best smart tv platform. There are so many apps to choose from. Also having the option to pause and rewind live tv is a huge plus. I have seen tvs with better picture quality, but none at the price. Honestly, it's not that noticeable to me.

Bought this in December 2015, it was on sale at the store for under $250. I was shopping for a new TV due to downsizing. I was familiar with Roku but didn't realize that they had incorporated the functionality within the TV. The Sharp brand is always quality for a lower price. My 7 year old daughter runs the options like a boss. Simple to set up, simple to operate, easy to use remote. Lots of bang for the buck. The one drawback is the "system mirroring" isn't compatible with my MAC's only some androids and Windows units. So I bought a 20 ft long HDMI cable to play downloaded content (not available for streaming) from my MAC. Do yourself a favor pick one of these up for yourself, I'm getting another one for the bedroom.

    Great TV, garbage remote

My wife and I drove an hour away to purchase this TV because it wasn't in stock at our local store. We get it home and the freaking remote didn't work. Since this TV only has a power button on the actual unit, the remote was a requirement for initial setup before use. Instead of returning to the store an hour away to exchange it, we decided to spend $10 at our local Best Buy on a universal remote to see if that would work. It did the trick and now we have a wonderfully operating TV.

Easy set up. We live an hour's drive from the store and kindly asked at the checkout if someone could power up the tv after purchase. After a previous purchase had several dead pixels; we did not want history to repeat itself. The bestbuy staff were very nice and accommodating, with the exception of one Geek squad member. He happened to be the one tasked with opening the box and removing the tv and turning it on. He was very short tempered and before the tv reached the main menu he pointed to it and told us everything is fine. When my husband asked if we could move into the main menu for contrast, the gentleman geek squad member placed the remote down on the counter and walked away from us without a word. The horrifically embarrassed looks on some of the other geek squad members said it all. Another geek squad member embarrassingly came to help us. We are not use to this level of service from Bestbuy, we accept that everyone has a bad day. This does leave a bad taste but at least there are still some members of the geek squad that hold the professional line. Was unsatisfied with the service from that one geek squad gentleman, but the rest of the bestbuy staff that helped us that day went above and beyond.

    Rebooting cycle

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this tv a few days ago. I immediately started having problems. It should randomly shut itself off and reboot. The tv wouldn't stay on for more than 15-20 mins at a time. I called Sharp and they walked me through several ways of resetting tv but that didn't solve the problem. They informed me I would have to return the tv to the store. Otherwise the picture quality is good for the price. The remote is strangely configured at the volume is actually on the side of the remote which is slightly awkward. I'm annoyed that I'm going to have to pack the tv back up and take it to the store. I guess I should be glad this happened right away and not after I'd had the tv past the 15 day return limit.

Love this TV. Having the built-in Roku is so easy and convenient. Picture and sound are both great, as was the price. I was a bit apprehensive at first because there were a small number of bad reviews, but the good outweighed the bad and I went for it... glad I did!

    All about streaming

Perfect if you stream. But not if you have rabbit ears. Built in tuner only found 2 channels. So I hooked up my old digital convertor box to this tv and got 12 channels like I had on my old tv. Would prefer the rca jacks and other hook up in the middle rather than far left to be able to drag cords to it. You also have to go thru the menu first when you turn it on and select antenna just to watch tv. Other than that great picture in theater mode. Price cannot be beat. Cost $6 less than my 32 inch samsung.
