Good price for a nice picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old plasma TV died after only 3 years, so I needed a TV and didn't have time to shop around and compare. I am very pleased with the Sharp 50". The picture quality is excellent. It was easy to set up with my home theater system.

Great, but not a 'smart' or 3D TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a second TV at Best Buy before Christmas 2014 for only $400 +tax (less existing Best Buy rewards). 99.9% of what we watch is on DirecTV and there's no need to pay $300-$500 or more for a smart or a 3D TV. (IMHO 3D is a passing fad.) Instead of paying more a smart TV, we hooked up a Chromecast dongle for only $35 and with that, you can get YouTube, Hulu and/or the internet from any computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone. Works almost as well for practically nothing more. But, again, we rarely watch these on the TV. Someone else, however, may want to watch Hulu regularly on the set and I expect using a tablet or smart phone with Chromecast will be even easier because typing in data on a tablet or phone is FAR easier and quicker than using a TV remote. The TV is 1080p and picture quality is very good - not the greatest, but very good. Unless it's side by side with our 80" Sharp Aquos smart TV, we don't see a difference. It does take a moment longer to switch resolutions between broadcasts (i.e. 720p to 1080i) than our Aquos, but that's not a problem. Sound quality is good. With a digital audio output, the unit can be easily set up for surround sound. It even has a headphone jack for private listening for instance in a bedroom setup. 3 HDMI inputs and a powered USB allow for DVR, DVD and Chromecast dongle and minimal cabling. Alternatively, it has component cable (RGB) or composite inputs. And of course, it has a standard antenna cable connection, too. Finally, it's light weight (~30-35 lbs) and easy for one person to setup or move around. Overall, a very good TV at a very good price.

Great TV and a great deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV for a couple months now, since March 2015. It is honestly amazing. The image is very crisp, the colors are spot on. It was far cheaper than Samsung or Sony of similar size and has a better refresh rate (120 Hz). Some may worry about quality since Sony and Samsung usually have high standards, but their prices are not worth their underperformance compared to decent brands like Sharp or LG. The sound is nothing extravagant. There are TVs with worse and TVs with better. But if you're one to worry about it, you probably have a sound system already anyway. It does not have SmartTV capabilities, but that should not be held against it. Every system hooked up to the TV (PS4, Blu-Ray Player, and 360) all have the apps that a SmartTV uses and more. So what's the point of shelling out extra for something that is not needed? TL;DR Pros: Large, clear and clean screen. Good sound. Refresh rate 120 Hz. Lower price than underperforming competition. Cons: None that I can think of at this point. Recommend to friends? My friends are jealous of this TV.

Not sure why this TV was sold so cheap!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure how they could sell such a great TV for so cheap. It has almost been a year since I first got it and I still find out new things about it. Pretty great TV for the money. Sounds good (although I got a surround sound system for it) and the 120Hz is nice. Would recommend and would buy again!

It's really worth it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sharp is always my wife's most favourite brand. And this flat panel also did not disappointed us. Picture quality is very good and 120 refresh rate make it a enjoyment to watch sports TV. And picture quality and refresh rate are the top priority things I considered before my purchase. If you think a lot of these two points than this model won't fail you. It's not a smart TV, but I have a Xiaomi TV box so that won't be a problem for me. The Chip used in a smart TV can never compare to the one used in the professional TV box. Sound is loud enough in the living room. No sound bar needed. 3 HDMI is okay, I only used one.

Very good TV for its price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it in December 2014. Using primarily for watching Netflix over Chromecast and gaming. Well, 50" size screen is awesome. Chosen this model because it also has 3 HDMI inputs which allows connecting pretty much everything at a time. Just make sure you've set your settings correctly, because it has a feature that changes frame rate and makes picture look like 120 Hz and it doesn't always work good - feels like motion is jamming sometimes. The bottomline is that after 2 month I own it I haven't seen a better deal anywhere.

Excellent TV Easy to Set Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally replaced my old HDTV with this model. The 120hz refresh rate does take some getting used to and most people don't like it due to the "soap opera effect" ... well, I happen to like it (for now). Picture is clear and TV was a breeze to set up. We opted out of having Best Buy do the install which would have been $ 250 to take down our old TV and mount the new one (easily done once the mounting instructions were found LOL). I should note to you though, that if you have an older analog receiver that requires RCA cables you are going to have to get a headphone jack to RCA cable to connect sound to an external source ... ALSO, turn off the TV speakers or you will get echo. I have an old Denon receiver and this is how I had to do it. Otherwise, works great!

Great price for a great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a replacement for our Samsung that zapped out suddenly and for no apparent reason. BB had this one and an Insignia about the same size for $399 so, after some extensive instore research via the Apple MacBook display, I went for the Sharp. I've had it for a little over 3 weeks and so far it's awesome. it's got 3 Hdmi inputs and a USB port as well. If you're a DIY'er, it's really light and easy to mount...if you know how to find studs with a broken studfinder and are willing to patch and paint a few misses with the anchors...but I digress... If you want a deal, this is it.

Excellent TV especially at this price point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace a 5 year old 42" Samsung TV in the living room that had some color issues. I didn't need 4k and I wanted a larger TV for the living room for cable and HD gaming. After reading reviews I went to Best Buy and picked this up. Not a lot of frills but the TV looks good and works well at a great price. This was written 6 months after purchase.

Love My New TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 42" Motorola flat screen for a couple of years. Wanted something a little bigger for my space and this 50" Sharp is perfect. It is so lightweight compared to the other one and one person can easily handle the installation. Mine is mounted with a ceiling mount and that gives me the option of viewing in any direction. The picture can't be beat. Color, sound - I have nothing bad to say about this Sharp Best Buy!

I love this TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the outset, I have say I thought the method of attaching the included stand was lacking in user friendliness. It was a real trick reaching into these holes to get the screws lined up (a magnetic screwdriver would have been useful). However, that one item is a one-and-done task. The included stand is not designed sturdy enough to let one turn the TV frequently. There are standard mounting holes in the back, however, and I would consider getting something else if you plan on angling the TV often. Outside of the short-term experience with the stand, I have not had ONE BIT of problem or disappointment with this unit. While it plays BluRay discs like you're in a theater, it also plays my retro gaming console as good as you'd hope. (or an old VCR / DVD if you still have one that uses the RCA jacks). We also have a Cable Box, Xbox 360 and WDTV. Up until this time, I was holding out for one such as this with "motion enhancement", however, I should say that most of the time I do not use the motion setting above the standard 60mhz. This unit literally outperforms my expectations. Also, I did NOT want a "smart" TV because I can only imagine "Smart" features are still rapidly evolving. I already have a BluRay player which has Netflix, Amazon video, Youtube, Hulu, etc etc. Why duplicate the tech and have one more thing to break? I can't argue or agree with those reporting disappointment with the built-in sound, because I already have a receiver and speakers set up. You may want to check out the sound if you're going to use the on-board sound. The guy at Best Buy put in in my car for me and as big as it is, it fit right into my Camry backseat and the doors closed! (barely). I seriously could not have asked for better service all the way around.

Great product so far! No complaints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is great. I ended up buying an open box deal for $50 less than the sale price and couldn't be happier. Nothing wrong with it at all. I've got my wife's cable box hooked up to it and my Amazon Fire tv stick. Everything looks great and the sound was even surprisingly nice!
