We purchased this TV on Cyber Monday for a pretty good price. My husband and I were looking for a TV with a good picture that wasn't going to break the bank. This Sony definitely fits our requirements. We like the picture (we're not super picky, so someone looking for the absolute best quality may have differing opinions), and we like that the Roku came built in. The interface is pretty simple to figure out and we haven't had any issues with streaming Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon yet. I think the one negative comment I have is that it seems like I have to have to remote directly aimed at the receiver (there's a small clear spot at the bottom left of the TV) or else it doesn't pick up when I'm trying to change the volume or pause or something. But other than that, we're really satisfied with our purchase and there's no buyers remorse over this one!

Finally replaced our big box TV. This one was super easy to set up, requiring fewer cords. Programming our cable box and blue ray to use with this TV was also easy. HD channels are clear and color is great. We do have to adjust for sound when changing from HD, to regular cable, to the Roku channels- we think it is funny how we need to be on 6 for one channel, yet up in the 50s to hear others. But is it a big deal for us? No we push the button to adjust. Same with picture size, luckily our cable remote gives us aspect ratio to change for regular channels allowing us to zoom in if we don't want the black bars on the regular channels. A definite upgrade for us at a price we could afford!

I bought this tv almost 2 years ago. I was looking for a tv for my bedroom to replace the smaller one my son had given me. We have a very large bedroom and really could not see it well from across the room. When it came right down to it, for viewing distance from the screen, I needed a bigger one than I had in the family room! I really did not want a 55-60" tv in the bedroom so I got this 50" HD Roku tv & it is fine. Have to admit I don't use it much now that my husband passed away. I don't really need to. But it works well and having a Smart TV with Roku built in is great. I am equipped and ready once I get up the nerve to cut the cable! The only upgrade I would suggest for any future purchases is having a voice enabled remote.

This TV has some of the best colors I've seen on a budget TV. The darks are dark, the colors are vibrant. Very happy with the picture. The Roku element is overall very good. I love the variety of apps (literally anything), the ease of use (the remote is simple), and how quickly it USUALLY responds. There is a minor issue where I've had the TV freeze up on me and I've had to restart it. Not sure if it's the app or the TV itself because it has only happened in the Sling TV app. But it's a minor inconvenience and I'm hopeful they'll provide an update that will resolve the issue. The sound is about what you'd expect from a very thin TV. Nothing fantastic, but I'm still using the internal speakers while I wait to buy a speaker bar, and I really have no complaints.

The TV was easy to set-up and looks great. The remote is a Roku remote, so I'm not too thrilled about changing the channels. You have to scroll through the numbers (I'm using standard cable with the television) and you're not able to enter in the number of the channel you want (there are no numbers on the remote). Also, I don't like that the volume buttons are on the side, especially since the remote is small. When you grab the remote, you may change the volume unintentionally. So, I pretty much liked everything except for the remote (which you can fix by getting a universal one).

Overall the tv is great. Have had it for about a month now and the picture is better then my older flat screens. The positives are, it's easy to set up if you're familiar with the Roku interface, and the picture is pretty good for a 1080 HDTV. The negatives would be when you first turn on the tv after being off awhile, it takes about 30 sec to 1 minute to boot up. The other would be the lack of inputs and the way you have to connect the inputs. If you have more than 3 devices that require hdmi or more than 1 device that requires rca you will need to buy a hdmi switcher or rca switcher. The input port placement also requires you to input your connections vertically into the tv which can be a little awkward. Also if you have never used roku the interface will take some getting use too. If you are just buying it to watch TV then you can set it up to boot up thst input instead of switching to the input you want. Even with the negatives I would still by this tv again.

Many channels and lots of options for different ages. The remote could be bigger to be more user friendly. The screen and case fit into any media room and everything was easy to set up right out of the box.

This TV fit my needs perfectly. The price was excellent, the ease of setup and use is second to none. With an added soundbar, the sound is wonderful and the picture fantastic. Great value for the price.

When my last tv died I bought the Roku tv. It's not a smart tv. I wish I had gotten the same one as my previous tv. While not "smart" the Roku tv seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it turns off on its own. The sound will occasionally turn up incredibly loud, on its own, and the tv has to be turned off and then back on. You HAVE to use the Roku remote when you turn the tv on to go to cable box or your apps. On the plus side, it has a good picture and it's easy to get to your apps. The price isnt too bad but if i had to buy another tv it wouldn't be this one.

Great clarity, easy to use remote and easy set up. Nice clean lines on the tv. We are thinking about buying a couple more as we like the smart tv feature and feel like it is a quality product.

A great TV for the price. Easy to set up, awesome picture, and perfect for our use (ManCave). Does put out a bit of heat (no problem for us), and the sound is OK (recommend getting a soundbar).

I bought this tv 2 weeks ago. Originally I had purchased a Toshiba 43" 4k Chromecast HDTV. I was disappointed with the Chromecast feature. I misunderstood how it worked. I thought it was more like a Roku or Apple TV . I was wrong , you actually installed Chromecast and then streamed content from your phone. Again , I misunderstood how it worked , not a deal breaker though. After about 2 weeks , tv started turning on and off on its own. I thought it needed a system update , but I was wrong. I contacted Toshiba tech support and they were helpful but we were unable to correct issue. We set up an appointment with the Geek Squad. Alex Snow with the Geek Squad came out and determined it was the main control board. Alex ordered the main control board and set up a return visit. Unfortunately after 2 weeks the part had still not arrived. Come to find out that the part was back ordered by 2 months. Though the tv was still under manufacturer warranty, it was out of Best Buy's return warranty. I am in the service business and understand that these things do happen. Alex went out of his way to work with management and we were able to return tv for a new one. Unfortunately this tv was out of stock. Best Buy then gave me store credit. I had originally considered purchasing this tv 1st , but opted for the Toshiba instead. Well , I went with my 1st instinct the second time around and could not be happier. This tv has a beautiful display , easy set up and is very easy to use. I really love the start up menu. Everything is right there and makes it easy to navigate. I highly recommend purchasing this tv if looking for a 50" smart HDTV if looking to not spend a fortune. Thanks Alex Snow , Thanks Best Buy!

Picture is very clear for budget 720p TV. Roku is convenient if you subscribe. Remote is minimal. Was able to receive local HD BROADCAST in SF with ease. Great picture at low price!!

This TV was easy to transport and easy to set up. The Roku makes it smart and very simple to connect with WiFi. Pretty good sound quality too. The remote is a bit small and easy to lose.

Very easy to install and setup, pic looks and sounds good. Smart TV connects to most video streams. A great value if you don't need the latest UHD, curved or 4K insanity.

Our 65" Samsung went on the fritz at Christmas, not too long after the expiration of the warranty. We weren't sure we'd be able to repair it, so I jumped on the chance to get this set on sale after reading the glowing reviews, figuring it could replace the main set if necessary. I haven't been disappointed. We put it in our bedroom after fixing the big tv, and even though my husband initially resisted buying an extra set, he's now the one who uses it most. For only a few hundred dollars more, we could have had 4K, but we don't require the latest tech. Very happy. If you prefer 4K then this is not the best deal, but it was great for old people like us.

I didn't have much to purchase top of the line tv but this is easy to use - has a good picture - works well and a SUPER GREAT Price. Haven't had any issues with it as of yet.

The instructions were great and set up was easy. Clear picture. Only thing I would change is the remote size. It's a little too small and I keep losing it in the couch!

We wanted to replace the TV in our bedroom and had been looking around a while. We have always purchased Samsung or Vizio tv's simply because we have had such good luck with them. Unfortunately, we couldn't find one of those in our price range and accessory requirements. After reading reviews, we decided to go with this Sharp TV. I didn't have very high expectations, but I couldn't have been more wrong. This TV is perfect for what we need! The sound and picture quality is fantastic and having the Roku built is a bonus! I have no complaints about this tv and would definitely look at Sharp for our future tv needs.

For the price, this is a good TV. Easy to set up, lightweight and nice picture quality. We especially like the combination of HD and the Roku interface at this price point.
