Great TV, don't have it installed by Geek Squad! They do horrible work. Who charges $199 to mount a TV with all kinds of cords hanging everywhere? Amazon installed my first TV and charged way less & did a professional job. Best Buy didn't ship the mount I ordered in time for installation, so I had to purchase another, much more expensive one from the install guy's truck! Get it together Best Buy, this was an epic fail!! Look at this pic of the final product! Terrible!!

This is only my 2nd flat screen tv. It seems to perform well. I’d have to see it right next to a competitor to truly rate it.

    Child-like 4K UHD TV

It’s a low price for a reason: Basically a giant Roku box first and 4K UHD TV second. No traditional TV remote or features; rather a child-like Roku remote and format, that places TV features a distant second in both format and operator convenience. Not enough ports for today’s high-tech needs. Time consuming to go between features: tv to streaming service, cable or blue-ray player. I regret this purchase and the customer service center rep who recommended it. STAY AWAY, ...unless you like the Roku box and format!

I purchased this tv in July as a Best Buy deal of the day. I was shocked at the price and had to get. I was in the process of buying a house and didn't set up the tv until yesterday. There was no physical damage to it when I took it out of the box. I plugged it up and the inside was busted up. I took it back to the store and was told it was beyond the 15 day return period for electronics and I was basically out of luck and had to chuck it up as a loss. I didn't open the box until after I moved and didn't know I was supposed to test it out within 15 days of purchasing it. The remote and batteries was still unopened. I plugged in the tv and it automatically powered up. I put everything back in the box and took it back to the store. I would've taken a floor model or even a smaller tv if offered but I was offered NOTHING. What I thought was an irresistible price left me with nothing for my money. I will NEVER purchase from Best Buy again.

Not LED but LCD per writing on packaging.

Poor picture quality due to being LCD instead of incorrectly advertised LED. My older 1080p and 720p Plasma TVs all have superior picture quality compared to this so called 4K TV. Additionally, must view straight on to have somewhat of an okay picture because picture is horrible if viewing at an angle, which is a problem that seems to plague LCD technology. Pass on this model.

Use the * button to adjust picture mode

I bought this LC-50LBU591U on 12/29/2018. I was going to get the 1080p model for $50 less but I’m glad I didn’t. I noticed that Best Buy reduced the price by $50 a few days later. I called customer service and they gave me a $50 refund because their price guarantee policy allows credit for the 30-day returnable timeframe. I had trouble adjusting the picture settings but eventually found that the * button brings up all the options. I changed the picture mode to “Movie.” WOW! I can’t imagine a better picture. Paid an extra $3 per month to get the ultra HD from Netflix. You also need to use the * button to change the picture size as well as many other options. But you need to be in Netflix (or another service) for the * button to work— it won’t work from the Roku main menu, although there are limited picture options there under Settings/TV Picture Settings. One question: Should I connect with the WiFi or a Cat6 cable? I’ve been using the WiFi and have not had any dropout. The router is about 3 feet away. I mounted the TV on a wall by myself using the Sanus - Fixed TV Wall Mount for Model BLL2-B1. I needed to buy a stud finder and a level for $40. The only problem I had was the socket drill bit that was included became stripped. I had to finish tightening the screws with an adjustable wrench.

After returning another Black Friday TV that was truly awful (Sceptre), I spent $100 more to snag this model from Sharp. I was not expecting great things for a low-cost TV, but I can honestly say that it has surprised me so far. The picture is good and built-in Roku is great. 4K is not bad either. My only negative (not enough to drop a star) is the non-traditional Roku remote that is the main control for the entire TV. It takes a little getting used to, but it is definitely not your average remote for a TV. This was a great buy, and I would definitely recommend it.

I don't leave a lot of reviews but I thought this one was important. Great TV's cost lots of money so it helps to be informed. I camped outside Best Buy for 3 days to be the first in line for Black Friday. My son and I bought 2 of these TV's. Set up is very simple and intuitive. The picture quality is stunning for what some call a budget TV. 10 minute setup and your ready to go. The options are are almost endless for subscriptions, and cheaper than cable service. Also I believe a smart Roku television superior to smart TV's. With Roku your apps are flawless and updated regularly, with a regular smart TV apps are buggy, slow and forgotten. And navigation through the Television is fast and simple. The remote is simple and not overly crowded. As you start using the remote, little tips pop up on screen for shortcuts and stuff. To bad I only bought 2. Thanks Best Buy for another top quality purchase

I Can't Imagine Why You Would Need a Better TV

Sure, there's lots of megabuck TVs with big names, rave reviews and dazzling descriptions. But save your money. The picture quality on this budget TV is absolutely stunning to my fairly critical eyes. I can't imagine how the pricier models could be any better. If they are better, I doubt that I would notice. Set up was fussy but easy. The remote control is intuitively simple to use. And best of all, using Roku to access Netflix (or other streaming services) is a quick one button task. This TV will give total viewing satisfaction, I think. However, sound quality is another story. First, note that the slim frameless configuration of this or ANY similar large screen TV with small down or rear firing speakers can't possibly provide high quality sound. My wife's ears find the sound quality to be totally fine and can't understand why I am dissatisfied. I'm OK with its voice clarity, but music is very thin with no low frequencies. I definitely will be adding some sort of sound bar/speakers. (the TV has several audio outputs to make this easy.)

I was a bit apprehensive about the built in Roku and didn't figure I really needed 4K resolution (being nearsighted everything is standard def without my glasses). But hey, a 50" screen for this price was worth consideration. So far I am not disappointed; color is great, the built in Roku is way better than my older 2XD set top, and OTA broadcast channels are received with no problems considering my house sits 40 miles away from the broadcast towers and we're at the bottom of the Fox River valley with nothing more than a homemade gray-hoverman antenna but I digress. Also worth mentioning was a competent and likeable salesman Chris who made the whole process painless from initial purchase through financing.
