    OK TV but has many minor issues

    I will start with this TV was low priced so I was not expecting much in the way of bells and whistles but the nagging minor issues will eventually get to you. I called the following issues minor because the TV can be made to work but not without something out of the norm. The issues I speak of; The TV will not turn on unless you are within 5 feet of the set. All other functions seem to work from across the room but to turn it on you have to be within 5 feet. The sound from the TV is very low. There are times we have the volume up as high as 60 just to hear what is being said while on other TV's the volume is all around a setting of 15. Recently I have had to reset the wireless setting (3 times so far) on the TV in order to re-connect to my router. It is the only thing that works to get the internet connection back on the TV. The picture is fine but with all of the other problems I will never buy another Sharp product again. I hope to get a year or 2 out of this set before it quits, then I will replace it with a better TV.

    Loses functionality with external speakers

    This TV provides reasonable value, but I was disappointed that it loses functionality when connected to external speakers (such as the SONOS Playbar I am using for surround sound) using an optical cable. Although it is possible to use the volume buttons of the Sharp remote control to raise, lower, and mute volume, they don't fully function - the volume bar doesn't come on screen (so you can't see how high or low the volume is set) and the closed captions don't come on when you hit mute. Regarding the TV as a whole, the colors that come standard are horribly bright, but you can tone them down with the advanced settings. The Roku function is nice (but a bit slow), and there is a noticeable lag when changing antenna channels that is annoying when you are surfing.

    One of worst TVs I’ve ever had

    Ok. This is first time I’ve ever left any kind of negative reviews but this tv is the worst I’ve ever had. Only reason for 2 stars is that it has great sound and picture quality. But I am constantly having 2 issues. 1- the tv will automatically shut itself down while I’m watching a program. Just out of nowhere. Plus it’s starting to freeze on logo screen after shutdown which means it has to be unplugged to reset and to be able to be turned back on. 2 issue- when moving between apps it will just start up whatever app it wants. It may not even be an app on my list or if it is, it’s no where near the apps I’m looking. Like I said great sound and picture quality but the annoyance of the issues is really an issue. As it doesn’t happen once. I’ve had tv for 9 months and it’s been a constant trouble.

    Too many compromises

    Even for a cheap TV ($349), it's just not worth it. The built-in Roku features are dead simple to use and wonderful. The Interface does suffer from lag from time to time but generally works fine. The two major drawbacks to this TV are the sound and the picture quality. My main TV is a Sony 850C. Once you've watched super smooth 4K it's just impossible to go back to 1080p, especially on a TV this size. Many of the apps looked pretty terrible. Even my wife, who never notices that kind of thing, said it looked bad. That was the main reason we returned this. As for the speakers, you will absolutely want to use an external sound source with this. The speakers are rear-facing, super quiet, and, bizarrely, the volume controls hardly work. The TV sounds just as loud at level 15 as it does at level 50. Really strange.

    Defective Screen Color

    I hate to bring the ratings down. This TV is actually a great product when it is not defective. The resolution and user controls are simple, fast and great. The price for a 55" smart tv is a steal for $250. And Sharp does has a great reputation. However, after a week or two of purchasing this from Black Friday deal, I notice slight blue discoloration was starting to develop where the contrast is blue to picture quality. I thought it was a cable connection issue but now the picture quality is just down right awful since I cant distinguish faces. Good thing Best Buy has a great return policy and even with no box, the allow a return or exchange. I would've given a lesser rating if it weren't for this.

    Not Great

    This Sharp TV is like others I've used - color and greyscale are hard to calibrate amd blacks are not as deep as other manufacturers. I'm guessing the 5 star "review" that came in conveniently before the TV went on sale for Black Friday is a bogus review authored by Best Buy. Do a comparison in store - if it's weaknesses are not that important too you, pick it up. My guess is, they won't have one actually set up on display so you can compare,

    Good picture, no help after sell.

    About two weeks ago my wife and I bought a sharp Roku smart TV. When we tried to set it up, The Roku part would not take the password, long story short we payed 99.99 dollars to fix the problem, it had a problem with our IP address.The next day they said we payed for a maintenance program. Called sharp talked to 4 different people and then transfer to Best Buy. Called back they said to called roku, it was their software and good luck. Will not buy one again. Love the TV but it would seem that you are on your own after you buy it.

    Careful Before You Buy

    I have two of these units, a 55" and a 43". Both are starting to lock up and power down...DAILY and multiple times a day.. The 55" is getting worse. The Bad part is that I run the audio thru my receiver and when it powers down it blasts my speakers..waiting to blow them.. Sharp will NOT support the product. I like them....but this is a real issue. Not even a year old and I feel I'm looking for new TV's..

    Horrible tv

    Not sure why this is rated so highly. The remote never works to turn the tv on and it turns off randomly by itself. Of course i got it replaced and the new one does the same thing. We had a samsung and the picture on this is horrible in comparison. The only thing good about it was the price but i guess you get what you pay for.

    Great TV but Low Volume

    I was so excited when I purchased this TV because of the low price, but the volume is too low. I have to listen to certain shows with the volume up to 100 for me to hear clearly. It also freezes up a lot especially when you are in an intense scene. This is my second Sharp SmartTV and i have no problems with the first one (43').

    Use only for Videogames/ Picture not so great

    I purchased this TV after reviewing some of the comments of other purchasors. It's big enough to enhance the quality of videogame experience but the quality of the picture on other channels is not very good. I would recommend the TV at the price and limit the use to videogames.

    The price was good but it came without a remote control and a manual. It's just that I misplaced my receipt, otherwise I would have replaced that 55 inch TV for another one. Besides, it works with my other remotes.

    Needed tvs with component video jacks, told sales person that. Recommened this TV for pricing. Received TV's then had to spend another $50 per TV to buy hdmi to component video. Otherwise TV was fine.

    I was expecting a better quality remote system. I have an LG in another room and you point and click. You have to use a click system to move the curser. It's not very user friendly.

    Legs of TV too wide; it is very difficult to fit on regular tv-tables It takes many clicks to turn the TV on, power light is almost invisible It take longer to turn on
