All my other microwaves had a light come on when you opened the door so you could see to set the controls and mix the food.

It works very well and is very easy to use. The defrost function is very convenient, and the unit itself seems sturdier than other brands that cost much more. I am very happy with this purchase, especially since I got it at on sale.
