    Don't Count on the Light or Support from Sharp

    My elderly parents bought this Microwave last December and I recently found out that the internal light went out within 2 months of purchase. When my Dad called Sharp's Customer Service to see if it was covered - He was told that the light bulb was not covered under that manufacturers warranty and that they could take it to be repaired for $59.95 + Tax (Bulb + Labor) - **2 months** Unfortunately they did not purchase the Best Buy warranty. Whether it is a bulb or other issues - I would be concerned with purchasing any Sharp products - Obviously they do not stand behind their products

    small turntable although it did fit the basics. even though it says it is 1100 watts it takes almost 3 minutes to boil a cup of water. generally a cup should boil in 2 minutes. it just doesn't cook as well as it should. I have granite counter tops and it does slide when opening the door. in fact it has a really lightweight (cheap) feel and sound when opening and closing the door. the handle sticking out was off putting also (at least to me). I returned it and purchased a different one.

    The light went out exactly 6 months

    The thing seems to work okay, but the light went out exactly six months after purchase. I've had many microwaves before, and the light never went out, even for microwaves that were 12 or 13 years old. And of course Sharp doesn't stand behind the light bulbs. I won't buy another Sharp Microwave. Apparently us regular people are not supposed to change the lightbulb.

    Didn't Work

    I love Best Buy and order frequently online from them so this is not a reflection on any other product they offer . Returning microwave. Two dents on inside door plastic, scratched metal plate on inside. Start button and express buttons don"t work and the right top casing has a gap so it is not secure to the inner oven part. This may just be a defective microwave.

    Failed after 5 months

    Purchased at the end of July and now November. When trying to set the time to cook it starts beeping, buttons do not work and the display start blinks with random numbers. Have to unplug it and reset it for it to work, and only lasts a few days.

    The carousel quit working 16 days after purchase. Best buy has a 15 day return policy. For that reason I will never shop at Best Buy again.

    I changed brands and find the numbers easier to read, door handle is more convenient than pushing a big tab, and the non-mirror door allows me to view what's inside.

    Loud turntable

    Cheap turntable makes so much noise that the product is unusable. Heats food adequately. Looks good. Will be returning.
