This microwave replaced a Sharp Carousel that finally died after 35 YEARS of faithful service with zero problems. High hopes for such dependability with this one. Couple of things: We like the blue led light, we wish the timed cooking and power buttons were easier to see, as that's how we usually use it. It's a good size, the carousel plate is the same size as the one it replaced.

This microwave is perfect for any kitchen counter. It fits neatly under your cabinet. The settings are descriptive and easy to use. It is very simple to complete what ever cooking task that needs to be done. I highly recommend it.

I love this microwave. I searched long and hard because I'm very particular. The stainless steel looks great on the counter top. Although I don't need the larger 1.4cu ft. size, I wanted at least 1000 watts of power. The light goes on when you open the door and cook. It beeps when the food is done, but it does not continue beeping every few minutes to keep reminding you to get your food. That was annoying with a different microwave that we had. It runs quietly (in my opinion). The door has a nice clean sound when closing it and it is not loud and clanky, and the entire microwave stays in place when pressing the button to open the door. I wanted a microwave with a soften butter feature, which this has, but I have not used that feature yet. We basically just use it for warming up food and it works great. You can press "1 start" and it will cook for 1 minute, and also a 30 second button-that when you press it, it automatically starts cooking for 30 seconds. I usually use the 1 minute button for warming up a plate of food. I've only had this for a few weeks, but would definitely recommend it.

This appliance replaces a GE which only lasted 4 years, Unlike the GE, if I put in a cup with a handle, the handle is in the same position at the end of the cooking cycle. With the GE almost always the handle ended up in the back. Very frustrating. I took a star off because of the black control panel. It is extremely difficult to read unless your kitchen is very bright. I like that you can defrost either by time or weight. The description for the exterior is stainless steel. Not so. The front is stainless steel, but the top and sides are metallic gray paint. I have had this one month and so far am happy with how it cooks.

Love all the features the 30 sec, instant touch minutes, sensor reheat etc.The size is just right and enough watt power. I replaced 10 + year old microwave. The fours stars is for the noise the microwave makes. First time used, it really scared me and I shut it off. When I talked to the Sharp technician of course it didn't make the same sound/noise. Sometimes the sound/noise is loud then gets quiet or just the reverse.

This replaces a larger Panasonic countertop microwave (1.6 cf) which just gave up the ghost after providing reliable service for over 25 years. The Sharp's stainless front fascia is a bit of a fingerprint magnet and it would have been nice to have a higher contrast or backlit touch panel. The blue led clock/timer display sure does light up a dark kitchen, though. This Sharp cooks and reheats well. You're allowed 10 levels of heating under timed cooking and the 30 second instant add-on often comes in handy. I haven't tried all the presets but expect these to be variable in performance. As always, YMMV. So far, this Sharp 1.4 cf microwave has been a more than satisfactory purchase.

This is third Sharp Carouse I have owned. The first two each lasted over 10 years and the second one was still working great when I replaced it because the button that opened and closed the door broke. I’ve look at other brands each time, but keep going back to this one because it has all the features I want and the size is perfect for my household.

This is the perfect microwave size and power for me. I replaced my first Sharp carousel microwave after more than 10 years with an updated version b/c it's easy very user-friendly and has all the features that I want.

This microwave is easy to use with a great kitchen timer. Con is that it is quite large if you have a small kitchen in an apartment. Microwave heats evenly with turntable and has courtesy light when food is being heated.

This was to replace a GE microwave that stopped working. While the Sharp is a good size, it’s loud and the features don’t work as expected. The “soften” feature for butter completely melts it in a few seconds. Seems to run at high power then shift to low rather than running at a low power to begin with for anything run at reduced power. Also, the finish shows fingerprints. While it does the job and the price was good, I would not buy it again.

Purchased this Microwave because of brand, size and features. Previous Microwave was a Sharp That finally died after 40 years of general use, mostly heating items or reheating. Was a Carousel II with wood grain wrapper. This new unit has a Stainless Steel front and a gray color wrapper. Goes well with my other Stainless Steel appliances, easy to set clock function, Offers glass turntable. Both units had touch screens. New unit now offers sensor adjustments to cooking depending on the number of items If it last as long as previous unit I will be happy.

We replaced a GE and we are extremely happy with this Sharp. Great features, perfect size and sufficient power for the money. Light stays on when door is open and while heating the food. Sensor cooking is accurate.

After reviewing counter top microwaves for about 3 years, I finally decided to replace my very old Sharp Carousel Microwave, the front has actually been duct taped together for the last couple of years. I had not been pleased with some of the features of the newer microwaves, but since all the newer brands seemed to have most of the same features I knew I would have to adapt. One of the features I had to adhere to was outside dimensions due to limited space but I still wanted the larger turntable that my old one had. I finally narrowed my choices down and started reading reviews. Since my old Sharp was a real trooper, I decided to get the Sharp SMC1442CS. It has all the features of my old Sharp and I'm happy to say I am pleased with the newer features as well. I've had it for almost 3 months now and I absolutely love it!!!

Purchased this as a replacement for a 25 year old Sharp countertop microwave that finally died. For an appliance that get's used daily multiple times a day to last that long without so much as a hiccup we naturally started our search by looking for a Sharp. This unit does not disappoint. Has some new features that we like. Been using it for about 3 weeks now and it's working like a champ!

The microwave works really well and heats evenly, but I have two small complaints. Its rubber feet slide off too often on my countertops, which my previous sharp did not. The blue light for the clock is really bright. This is annoying at night.

I love the size and look of this microwave. It’s easy to clean and even the beeps are not as annoying as my previous model.

This is a quality built microwave which has difficult to find features in the medium sized countertop category. We really like the flexibility of the delayed start plus the 2 stage defrost/cooking options. The instructions are simple to follow and there is enough automation with the Express Cook and +30sec adder to meet most needs. It replaces a larger and still running 40 yr old Litton unit which had most of the these features minus the Express Cook and +30 Second adder. My wife wanted a new microwave for her new kitchen - so this makes her happy - you know the ending here. It IS a really good unit and I am glad I found it.

Microwave works great. Spacious interior. Interior light stays on when cooking. Much noisier than my previous ones. Also the contrast on the control panel of the dark background and the print makes it difficult to see. Very dark.
