Great Compression Boots!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great compression boots! This is my first Sharper Image - Powerboost Boots. I have long used a high end brand of compression boots and these less expensive boots do the job almost as well. So both my wife and I are officers in a major Denver-metro fire department. In our duties, it is vital that we (along with our crews) remain in the highest level of physical condition. That said, we are also the "eldest" amoingst our crews when it comes to working out on a daily basis. And being the oldest, our recovery from working out is NOT what it used to be. These boots are a great device to help recover from hard leg days, or even difficult fire calls where we are on our feet fighting fires for hours. While these Sharper Image - Powerboost Boots are not as customizeable as the ones I have used, they do the job almost as well. The head unit has a 5 customized settings. After using all 5, we both agreed that the "Pulse" and "Gradual" settings are our preferred modes. While the ones I have are able to to operte off a rechargeable internal battery, this unit requires to be plugged in. That is the only reason I ma rating these with 4 stars instead of 5. Great boots!

Recovery, rest, and relief with ease
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sharper Image Powerboost Boots are a fantastic aid in recovery and relief. I'm a former NCAA Division 1 athlete that ran cross country and track. I have continued running for years afterwards and also do a lot of indoor biking for health and wellness purposes. The technology of air compression is a true game changer in recovering after playing a sport. These boots are easy to put on, easy to operate, and you get instant relief with them. In the box you get the 2 boots, the control unit, and the power adapter. This particular style requires a wall outlet to give it continual power for operation. There are 2 boots, and you simply unzip it all the way to place your leg inside. When you have a good foot placement you'll zip up the boot from the bottom to the top. Connect the hoses from each boot to the main unit on the control unit and you're set to go. Simply power up the control unit and let the air compression begin. There are 5 different compression modes, 5 strength/intensity levels to choose from, 5 zones for personalized relief on different sectors of the foot and leg, and the control unit has a countdown timer. The compression boots will inflate and deflate with air to give your leg muscles more blood flow. This helps to soothe tight and sore muscles, and also promotes faster recovery. In my case I have been using this every evening after I have had a hard bike workout or running workout. I'll even use the Sharper Image Powerboost Boots on days when I'm just tired from being on my feet all day at work, or tired from mowing my lawn and doing outdoor chores. The air compression that these boots provide really helps to give a massage like effect for achy feet and legs. On the days that I use the boots after my hard workouts, I feel like I've recovered better to perform the next day. The boots are foldable and compact, so I took these on an overnight trip recently. They packed well in my suitcase and were great for some recovery while I laid in a hotel room the night before a 5K race. Overall I would suggest these as a training aid and a recovery aid to mostly all athletes that value shorter recovery times. When I was at peak athletic performance, I wished that this technology was available to me so I could rest, recover, and be ready to take on my next endeavor.

Now I can recover at home and faster.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a triathlete as well as a marathoner and I am just an active person, and after either a long run on the weekend or doing my bricks during the week, my body needs to be recovered. And if you are also an seasoned athlete or even if you are just starting out, you know that part of the training is the recovery not just resting. So that is where the Sharper Image Powerboost Boots come in. I often go to recover at a recovery center where they have different products including these types of boots that I often use. Now I do not have to worry about coming home, I can get home and recover with the Powerboost boots. For the short runs or workouts, I use compression socks, but harder workouts are best recovered with these boots and by having them at home it is very convenient. And speaking of the benefits of these compression boots, they improve circulation that gives back faster recovery time, they help decrease muscle soreness as well as reduced inflammation. I like how easy they are to use, it has 5 recovery zones, 5 compression patterns (Pulse, Gradual, Sequence, Zones, Manual) and 5 intensity levels. To wear them, extend legs while seating down, slip the boots on with socks as recommended, zip them up, hook them together, turn them on and enjoy. And I can enjoy 10- or 20-minute sessions. I like to change it up depending on the workout I've done, so during the week a light compression session is good and, on the weekend, when I have done long workouts, I like the compression to be longer and stronger, making my legs recover faster and it targets what i want to recover too. I also like that the control box gives me a visual with its LEDs, where it is targeting, what the pressure is, the mode I am using and the time remaining. As for the noise, I thought they were going to be a bit loud, but they are better than I expected, they do make noise since it is a compressor, but they are fairly quiet, and I can always use my noise cancelling earbuds or headphones and I will not hear them at all. Once I am done using them, I also like how easy they are to put away, I can hang them or put them back on its box and it does not take much space to do so. Overall, the Sharper Image Powerboost Boots are a great addition to my recovery products, I have rollers, massagers, compression socks and much more and now I have the PowerBoots that will help me recover my muscles faster so I can stay active. Even if you are a person who stands all day long or just wants to recover, these are a great choice.

Great value with exceptional pressure
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The usage of these boots couldn't have been at a better as I just recently sprained my MCL and wanted the best regimen possible to expedite recovery. So far, they are fitting the bill and providing just what I need for well under the cost of what typical compression boots cost. The first big point to be aware of is these have no battery. You have to plug it into a wall of portable power station if you truly want portability. They do not market it as having a battery, but being that is a given in this realm, it is worth noting to evaluate if these will serve your purpose. First off, the build, The boots and the connector cables feel sturdy and are very easy to connect, breakdown, and put away. I have a pair of Normatech 3s and a major issue is the connectors become harder to connect over time. The connectors of the Powerboost boots click and seal with ease with no indication of weakening over time. The actual pump box is a bit clunky, but very easy to use and provides quick navigation with responsive buttons and an east to read display. It doesn't match the overall sleek aesthetic of the boots themselves, but its looks don't affect the great performance. Within minutes of unboxing, I was going through my first pulse cycle to expedite my knee recovery. Secondly, the pressure. Top-notch. Even in comparison with my other more expensive models, the PB Boots provide fantastic pressure at all levels. For myself, level 3 of 5 is typically all I need to foster my warranted result. Front the foot to the top of the thigh, these boots hold their own against any competitor I've come across. Next, the modes. Whether using for a warm-up or going for recovery, you can easily customize your zones and order with a few button presses. For my aforementioned knee, I swap between pulse and sequenced to only inflate my knee area and one zone above. These have plenty of variety to match whatever your purpose may be. Finally, the negatives. Only one I can truly point out...the timer. Once you cut on the boot box, the timer immediately starts, so if you want to change a mode and maximize time, you must be quick to hit the change to catch as much time a you can before continuing. A dedicated start/stop button would have been a good addition. Also, the max time is only 30 minutes. While that seems like plenty of time, I've become used to 45-minute recovery sessions touted by other sets of boots. While not detrimental, it should be noted. For the cost-to-function ratio, these are extremely hard to beat. Folds up and leaves a small footprint, packs a good assortment of pressure and modes, and functions with ease and reliability. Great for warming up or recovery from exercise or injury, these are a no brainer to add to any training arsenal. Best bang for your buck in this range, hands down!

So, sooo good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been enjoying this Sharper Image Powerboost Boots in the past week for like daily and they do make wonders every single time i use them! I am running extra at the gym or in the park when the weather allows me to do so outside and combined with long hours of standing at work, i would very often find myself in some discomfort around my legs at the end of the day. Sometimes making it harder for me to want to go again for a run and skip more than a day at times. So i want to say that after the very first usage of this targeted air compressed boots that has changed! By the way they are as easy to use as plug and play and also very easy to store them i choose the hang them in the closet along my pants and keep the control box at the bottom after i am done using them. It has 5 intensity levels with 5 compression modes in 5 different zones of your legs to choose from and you can choose to wear one or both boots but i found myself to use them in pair every single time! My Favorite mode by far is the GRADUAL mode* and i keep it on intensity 4 out of five but i am also enjoying the other ones as well either on my chair or laying down on the couch i found both ways to be very effective for my recovery at the end of the day! I feel that they are worth it right after the first usage, and my legs they are very happy and also myself i feel more motivated to hit the running track and being less tired at work as well!

Limited, But Still Functional
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[PROS] Effective Compression: The number one thing any compression equipment should do is to work well which is something the Sharper Image Powerboost Boots does. Compared to other premium compression equipment I own, I noticed no difference. I able to feel refreshed and recuperated with every session. Premium Design: Although this device is short on features, it has a sturdy build. Furthermore, I'm a fan of the flat cable design which are more comfortable laying near me rather than the round bulky ones that I am used to. [CONS] Quirky: Where do I start? So the power button did get stuck a few times as I tried to start he device. Also, there's no way to set a specific time. The timer starts running as soon as you power on the device. I'm not a fan of the button construction on the control unit. They're a rubber material that feels like it could degrade if mashed improperly or with long nails. No app: Unfortunately, you have to use the physical control unit for everything. There's no stop or start functionality with a phone which makes it more challenging when you need to interact with the device. No internal, rechargeable battery: This unit must be plugged into an AC outlet at all times. I would very much prefer to be able to move amongst the bed or couch without having to be tethered to a adapter. No Case: I believe an included case would've been a good concession for the lack of a rechargeable control unit. Portability is not everything, but it is valuable in a number of scenarios. [Mixed Bag] Limited Customization: Customization exists, but there's more to be desired. You can adjust the zones that you prefer to work out and compression pattern, but I wish that there were more sophisticated programs established based on activity. [Conclusion] I would best describe these as entry-level. There are no bells and whistles. It's basic, but it's complete as far as compression boots goes.

Essential for Leg Recovery, and Relaxation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's perfect for recovering after workouts or unwinding after a long day. Comes in one size, fitting inseams 25 inches and up. Tightness means the boots are working as intended. Fully intuitive control on the included control panel means you can target different areas of your legs, intensity levels, and 4 compression modes. It truly provides personalized comfort, relief, and reduces swelling. Boots are relatively convenient to story as they can be made flat and then folded to hang or pack away when not in use. The materials these boots are made of feel sturdy and seem to be built to last. They are comfortable when on and relatively easy to put on. These are also great to take anywhere, including for use right after a workout at the gym. These boots deliver just the right amount and targeted pressure to soothe tight, sore muscles, and promote quick recovery. These are recommended to those on a budget to experience quick relaxation and recover. These boots do wonders in that regard. I used to have leg pain that could last through the night and into the next day after a workout that was physically demanding, but the boots have me feeling better that same night.

Superb & Adaptable Purchase for Various Uses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A unexpectedly decent device that is useful and versatile without the need for extensive manuals. This leg massager can be used for basic massages or for sportsmen who want to rest or recuperate after a workout. Even though I'm not athletic and have never experienced overexertion, the "Sharper Image Leg Massage" was helpful to me and the elderly people in my immediate environment. Leg muscle problems and pains are common among those taking water pills, ill or challenged by leg related issues from the feet to the spine, although occasionally in the back. I therefore evaluated this product on individuals who had back problems. Additionally, it helped with my back and other problems in addition to my hydration and muscle problems following a year of bed rest. Although it has other settings, the default is compressed and decompressed, which is, in my opinion, the greatest choice. You can manually set regional zones and only specify one leg. levels of compression and sequences. Multiple sessions utilizing the various parameters listed above can be completed in a single sitting, and each session can last up to thirty minutes. Even so, there are always minor details that are missed, which is a problem, eye problems in both young and old persons is a prevalent worry. electronic gadgets with buttons that are gray on black or black on black can be difficult for the Vision impaired. Naturally, you will know exactly where and which buttons to hit once you start using it, but many electronic devices that prioritize usefulness above aesthetics don't need to look attractive. The size of the leg boots is the second problem. I liked that it could fit me and most individuals on the tiny chunky to big size because I have fat legs and am generally obese. Although 1 or 2 is more than plenty for me, the unit must be set to the fifth compression level for my athlete friend, who is a small woman with legs that are 1/5 the size of mine. As you can see, it satisfies a high degree of functionality requirements, making it a very wonderful acquisition at a fair price. It also suits both desperate and moderate needs and functions well as a generally safe and pleasurable device.

Easy to use and great for after workouts!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had read and seen about these compression devices for workouts, sports before; specially with some sports teams using some sort of compression devices, hyperbaric chambers etc.... but I did not believe they could provide any more relief than a proper rest after exercising, however after trying these, I have been convinced they do help. I mostly play soccer games in a little league with my good friends, and over the years and as I'm getting older it has been taking more time to recuperate after games for the next one, usually needing more than 4 or 5 days for the next game. These definitely shorten the time. You can use them on both legs or one at the time, you are not forced threat both at the time. You plug theme and the control unit. Treatment times can last for up to 30 minutes and you can do them in 10 minutes increments. I tried all the treatment modes available (like gradual, pulse, sequence) and I liked the sequence one as it did not feel as harsh as the other ones. After a full session the next day I felt fully renovated, I would say instead of taking me 4 days after a match, only a couple of days getting threated by these is fully enough to get me going for the next soccer match. Once a full session is done the boots are automatically deflated and ready for the next time. If you want to cut out your recoup time after any excersice these are truly helpful and got me convinced they do work!

Recovery
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many people I am not a fan of leg day, whether it be running/lifting/biking. The reason being the soreness I have the following day and how it makes doing everything more difficult. This is where the Sharper Image Powerboost boots come in. The Good: I used the Powerboost boots after a number of workouts and a range of time frames. The Powerboost boots have five program settings along with five pressure settings. My preferred recovery method was the pulse method for 20 mins on pressure level 3. The boots felt great, and the pressure was just enough, I had no issues using the Powerboost boots as everything clicks into place and there is ample room in the leg department. Using the boots was straightforward and making adjustments is easy. The program recovery methods are great, I am very impressed with how well the “zone” method worked in targeting a specific area. The Bad: I have a few complaints about the Powerboost boots. One is that the foot portion only seems to aid in recovery for the feet when the pressure is set to high, otherwise there is no real benefit in the foot area. The second complaint I have about the boots is that when they are turned off it takes a bit of time for them to decompress by themselves. The pump attachment does not remove the air and if you’re looking to hang them you have to manually press it out. There are a decent amount of attachments (five total) and this makes me worry about possibly “losing a piece”. Overall, my experience with the Powerboost boots has been positive. After an extreme workout I noticed soreness is reduced and mobility was is about 80% better the next day in comparison to not using the Powerboost boots. Although the whole contraption is a bit big it’s pretty light to move around. The boots are a terrific way to recover quicker which will help you reach any workout goal you have set.

Effective and relieving compression leg therapy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sharper Image Powerboost compression sleeves utilize air pressure to massage the legs and feet, aiding in workout recovery and relief from discomfort. The set has five different selectable massage modes, which includes two user-customizable options. Some modes squeeze the legs so tightly that I can feel the pulse in my legs quite strongly with the sleeves fully inflated. The set includes an air pumping control unit, a sleeve extension connector with dual-output heads, and two zippered leg sleeves. The sleeves are easy to put onto the legs and use. Air pressure is consistently strong throughout the entire sleeve, from the feet through the thighs. Noise is moderate and noticeable, but not overly loud during use. It is tolerable if trying to watch TV or listen to music during use. The sleeves can be used as a pair or solo. To use as a pair, I first connect the extension cable to the control unit and then connect both sleeves to the extension cable. To use a sleeve solo, a single sleeve can be connected directly to the control unit instead of using the extension. The other option is to connect the extension line to the control unit and then connect one sleeve to the extension, and plug the other empty output with the included rubber plug tethered to the extension hose head. Run time per session can last from ten to thirty minutes and can be increased or decreased in ten-minute increments. Air pressure can also be adjusted on the fly. The five treatment modes include the following: Pulse: inflates and deflates all regions simultaneously for a continuous full leg massage. This feels like the most aggressive of the modes and applies strong compression pressure throughout the legs and feet. It is also the most preferred and effective mode in our household. It repeatedly loosens and tightens during therapy to massage the legs and feet. Gradual: similar to Pulse but the sleeves inflate gradually rather than simultaneously, as the name suggests. It too has tight compression at max inflation and also loosens and tightens repeatedly to massage. Sequence: different sections fill with alternating pressure working its way up through different zones from feet to thighs. This mode doesn’t seem to squeeze the legs quite as tightly as the first two due to the individual zones being inflated alternately rather than all at once or gradually. Zone: the user selects up to five treatment areas for a pulse massage. Manual: user selects up to five treatment zones and adjusts the air pressure to the desired setting. The last two modes offer more customized massages. However, we seldom use them due to the convenience and good results we see from the automated modes. They work fine for our needs at the moment. If I start to feel like the treatment hits a plateau or becomes less effective, I may mix in the zone or manual mode. Otherwise, the first three automated modes are sufficient. The pump deflates the sleeves automatically at the end of a session, allowing them to be easily removed. The feature works fine if we allow the session to end on its own, but as everyone knows, that’s not always possible. For such instances, the user guide says quickly pressing the power button during use is supposed to deflate the sleeves and power off the control unit within three minutes. However, this quick stop feature never seems to work when we try it. The pump turns off, but the sleeve(s) remain inflated. My son is a distance runner who medaled in cross country in both high school and college. He regularly still runs 4 to 8 miles daily. I used to run 3-5 miles daily myself at his age, but no longer do so due to joint pain. I still work out my legs rigorously during the week through aerobic exercise, power walking, hiking, and strength training. I find the sleeves helpful for muscle soreness, joint pain, and cramping after strenuous leg activity. My son advised me that using the sleeves help make his legs feel more loose and agile after long runs and help him experience quicker, easier recovery times. He also uses them after strength training and feels they are helpful with quicker, less painful recovery there as well. The Powerboost compression sleeves are a quick and easy to use self treatment option that work well on sore or over exerted muscles. The air compressor is a bit bulky but manageable. The sleeves themselves don’t contain any heavy components, which is a plus, and the entire set is easy to disassemble and store away when not in use. Overall, it’s a good set for the price and it provides a solid and effective leg massage.

Great compression and recovery boots
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Sharper Image PowerBoost boots are amazing function and quality at a fantastic price point. I swear it wasn't that long ago that recovery compression boots cost 2x as much as this, and the quality has improved in just a short time as well. So much for inflation and everything going up in price!!! So the pace of innovation here is your gain, here's what really stuck out to me with these Sharper Image PowerBoost boots (full leg sleeves). 1. They are EXCELLENT quality, craftmanship is outstanding, every stitch is perfect, material is clearly durable andeasy to clean and all the tubes are covered and concealed in the same high quality material as the rest of the boots. The connections are also easy to connect and disconnect with very high quality feeling connectors. The Red Zipper adds a nice contrast that makes these things really pop. 2. The compressor pump unit is extremely quiet and very relaxing rather than jarring when it runs. It doesn't sound like a pump that inflates your tire or even an air mattress pump, more like a fish tank air pump. 3. Pressure and duty cycle control is excellent. I actually stopped at setting 3/5 as that was more than enough pressure to feel a good compression on my legs. 4. There is a nice timer and display on the pump portion itself, that shows you how much time the unit is set to and how much time is remaining. It takes about 50s to complete a pump and release cycle and adding time is in 10 min increments. 5. The whole unit is very light and portable, maybe 10lbs in total so you can easily take it with you in a small duffel bag or a large backpack and use it to recover between games or matches if you are at an all day tournament, swim meet, etc. I only have a few minor complaints. The different buttons and settings are not illuminated like the Zone display and timer. It would've been nice if the buttons were at least a contrast in color from the body of the unit, as its very hard to see the etched functions on the pump unit. Also, using words instead of logos would help, but you will quickly remember what buttons do what. The up and down arrows only work for certain modes and aren't used to control the pump pressure up/down, that's one of the other buttons that cycles all the way through from 1-5, which isn't super intuitive. That said, this is an AWESOME pair of compression boots at a great price point. My legs are literally tingling after a brisk walk around the neighborhood and then using these boots. I can't wait for cycling and softball season to start again so I can use these boots to help circulation and recovery.

Perfect for sore legs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a bad back for many years and was told awhile back that I had degenerative disc. Being a younger man at the time, I didn't pay much attention to it and just kept living as I always did. One day the back went out again and I thought here we go. Well, later that day my foot got that tingling feeling and I just assumed it was from my bad back and that it would go away. That was 4 years ago and the feeling never went away. After numerous doctors visit, I was told I had neuropathy and that the only thing besides physical therapy was surgery. Not ready for the surgery route, I've been working on my back muscles to strengthen and cardio to help with weight. This also created many days of numb legs and feet. My wife got me some cheap compression boots that went up to my calf's to see if it would help. It did. So when I saw these Sharper Image Poweboost boots, I was so excited to see that it ran the length of my legs. Putting them on for the first time after a long day, I was super excited to see what it could do. It was a lot bigger than the inexpensive ones I had and the control module was like a fat brick LOL. The control module let's you cycle through different modes, intensity, and timer etc. But it's not the most intuitive, so read the manual. The compression levels IMO is good for most everyone. The Power boost has more tightness than my older one, which at first, I had to get use to. When done, I was very surprised at how flat and easy it was to fold up and store away. My older boot was thicker and took up more space even though it only went to my calves. This unit has really been a big upgrade from my other boots and it does the whole legs. It really does feel like you are getting an intensive massage on your legs. It really has help on those days when my foot and leg hurt. I think anyone who has muscle aches in their legs should own one of these.

Great for athletes and anyone with sore legs.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a cross country runner in my household. He has been suffering from sore legs and knees lately that has been affecting his running. We decided to give these a try. They are amazing! They are very easy to put on solo- no help needed. Once on, you have a choice of several massage modes. My runner liked "gradual" the best. It slowly inflates from feet to thigh and back again. Keep the unit with the buttons close by. You can adjust the pressure, type of massage and time while using it. The motor is not very loud. You can watch TV while using it. Pulse- Fills both legs fully. It will feel like your legs are getting squished but then it will stop, hold for a few, and release. The squeezing feels so good! Gradual starts at the feet and moves up the legs holding the squeeze as it goes. The visual on the motor unit shows you what sections are filling. It then holds, and releases and starts again. Sequence also starts at the feet, the releases the pressure, then works up the legs, releasing as it goes (unlike gradual that stays full as it moves up) Zones- I did not figure this mode out. It flashes the feet, I press it again and it's solid but it never filled the boots. Manual- Lets you set the sections that massage. Again, I did not really use this one either. My opinion is that if you want leg massages after a workout, you might as well massage the whole leg! This has definitely improved the performance and endurance of the runner in my house. His muscles have recuperated faster and he is back to top form in no time. This is great for athletes and others alike!

Feels Great To Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was interested in this product for a few different reasons. 1. Restless leg syndrome. Haven’t been symptomatic so can’t report yet. 2. Upcoming knee surgery, perhaps quicker healing time. That’s in December. Obviously, can’t test that yet. 3. Quicker alleged recovery from workouts. The idea behind it is that by using compression it increases blood flow to the area. Increased blood flow allows you to hear quicker. Which is why say your tongue takes almost no time to heal. Whereas, your shin takes ages. Personally, I haven’t noticed too big of a difference. But it sure does feel good. And my legs feel more refreshed afterwards. As I can tell the blood flow has increased. Kind of like I went out for a long walk or workout but without the muscle fatigue. 4. I think if you have edema in your legs would be very helpful. 5. If you are stationary or don’t get a lot of walking could help with blood flow. OPERATION: Setup and takedown is quick and easy. To setup you find the left/right leg, zip up or slide in, attach the hoses together and then to the main pump, provide power via electric outlet and turn on the power and select which mode you want. Default is 10 minutes. Once done you just reverse the process. This is surprisingly compact making it easy to store either in a closet, in a box, or similar. Sound is minimal and not distracting. It is a pump so you definitely hear it. But I was able to watch TV without changing the volume and hear it without any issues. Same with having a conversation. PROGRAMS: There are 5 “programs”, pulse, gradual, sequence, zones, manual. What this feels like on your leg is essentially a blood pressure cuff but around your entire leg. But doesn’t get quite as tight and feels a lot better. Pulse: It starts semi deflated, then pumps up uniformly, then deflates, inflates, for your time limit. Gradual: This was my favorite. And for those with edema may help a lot. Starts in the feet by pumping them up, then the ankles and pumps that up, then the calves, and so on. Once it hits the top it deflates and starts again. Very relaxing. Sequence: Similar to gradual but instead of starting in the feet and staying pumped as it goes up it does each spot and then deflates. Zones: Didn’t do anything… but only tested it once. Manual: I think you can figure that out. CONCLUSION: I think it has its use cases. But I’d need to try for a lot longer to really give a true opinion on if they work or not. What I can say is that they are a well-made, the pumps work great, it feels great when you use it, and my legs feel slightly better after use. Does it help me train any harder? Eh, I’m not sure yet.

Like Checking My Blood Pressure On My Legs.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon hearing about the Sharper Image Power Boots and what they where capable of. Inknew I had to give them a try. I gappen to be an gentleman over 50 that works out regularly. And a very important part of my workout is the weekly two sessions rhat revolve around heavy weights and using my legs to move them. Different variations of squat presses, leg extensions and weighted kickback exercises. Doong these intense actions always results in the same issue. That would be the dreaded , but much desired leg day hangover. This is, of course soreness and wobbly feeling in your legs that indicates that you're muscles have indeed been tested and are evolving to become stronger for the next misdion ahead. Funny enough, this usually lasts until the day before I've got to do the workouts all over again. This is where the Power boots come into play. These are sleeves not to unsimular to fishing boots that have the added ability to work much like the airbag style blood pressure bands. The package comes with 2 boots with connector hoses that connect the compressor through a link hose. Simplistic yet very functional. I was a little unsure about the process considering that i have to remain stationary during the 10 to 30 minutes of use. But once the first pulse completed is cycle, I knew I was in for a great massage session. There are 5 different settings which are easy to cycle through(pulse, gradual, sequence, zones, and manual) Pulse does the entire leg, from thought to toes, at the same time. Gradual starts at the feet and works its way up. Sequence does does different parts individually and then Zone only does what parts that you choose. Manual is roughly the same. I've found myself falling asleep during sessions and loving it. The compressor is pretty bulky so be sure to place it somewhere safe when in use. Storage is simple enough. There are hooks on each not so you can hang them when not in use or you can fold them and pack them away. There's a little learning curve to that, though. All in all. I am glad I was able to text these out for week before writing this review. It really does a great job at getting me back up and running, literally. I just wish that it came with a storage bag. Other than that. I love them.

Great relief but poorly placed compression tubes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember the Sharper Image stores back in the late 90's to early 2000's. It was that store where you can see and test out those niche home/health electronic devices. Now that Sharper Image stores are long gone, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are still producing and selling these items. One of those items is the Powerboost Boots Air Compressions. I have been using this for the past week now after my exercise and have conflicting thoughts on them. Pros: They fit amazingly. I have shorter legs (31" inseam) and I have used other air compression boots in the past. And most of the time those ride high to my groin area and are uncomfortable. These Powerboost Boots fit perfectly on me, riding a few inches below the groin area. I have been really happy with the pressure the air compression does on my legs. You have five different program settings to use: Pulse, Gradual, Sequence, Zones, and Manuel. There are 5 buttons right below the display that are power, timer, select, pressure, and up/down rocker. I have been switching the programs where pulse compresses all around; gradual goes from zone to zone of compressing and decompressing from top to bottom; and zones where I can select any of the 5 zones that divide your legs. Each time has offered great relief of my tense muscles. Cons: Trying to select the program you want can be a frustrating process. The entire surface of the display is all black and it is hard to see what you are pressing if you are in a darker room. It would have been better if it was backlit. The biggest con of this device is where the compression tubes are. They plug in at the top so the tubes run from the top to where you have the control panel. So where you have it plugged in has to be considered because the tubes are so cumbersome and annoying to slip my legs in. The tubes should have been connected at the bottom and then have the control panel go up so I can hold it closer to me. Overall, this has been a great experience of having to use the air compression of providing relief to my muscles. I just wished they designed it better to where the tubes were placed.

Does job but is tight for my taste.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Post exercises recovery is key to feeling better. I regularly bike anywhere from 5 to 12 miles at a time and I hit it hard when I bike. I also do HIIT training with interval training. These sharper image recovery compression boots will help you achieve better recovery. Setup was super simple. Plug the AC adapter into the pump unit. Plug the hoses into the 3 way connector zip into the boots and turn it on. Setting are easy to use. Pulse, Gradual, Sequence, zones, and manual. All settings are super easy to use and cycle through. Also make sure you check your inseam to make sure you can fit these. Not making sure it does fit is extremely important. Ok. Back to use after my workout... Post 4.5 mile ride at at an average heart rate of 140 bpm was doing pretty good for a short ride. I could feel my quads burning as well as my calves. So I cooled down. Showered and zipped these puppies on. Overall. The compression helped my recovery to help my blood and muscles. For my personal taste the boots were a bit tight for me even on the lowest settings. Regardless of my personal taste it still helped me with my lactic acid reduction. So based on my experience theses boot does it job but is tight for my taste.
