It was getting very hard for many people to experience what is a Classic game. This was one of the most ambitious games of its day and really showed many people and developers what could be possible with a game. Though small by today's standards this was one of the first Open World games. They are still patching out some bugs. But this is worth getting for a fan of the series. And this gets the game into the hands of a new generation of gamers.

Shenmue is a wonderful series I would recommend to anyone that likes video games. This series tells a very personal tale of a young martial artist finding his way in the world, as he investigates the murder of his father. Shenmue was a trailblazer when it released in the year 2000, and remains one of the best open world gaming experiences to this day.

Story - Interesting plot about solving the mystery of who murdered his father with interesting characters across different settings. Gameplay - This game paved way for a lot of games with button sequences, open world, rpg elements, etc. Graphics - Great for something 20 years ago. Sound - Good action effects & great score for the setting and atmosphere.

This is one of the best underrated series since it was only on the Dreamcast and Xbox. Now that they have remade the games on the PS4, I can replay it again. This is your basic RPG set in the modern setting with the choices that you choose will affect the outcome of sidequests. This has a very good story and should be seen through til the end.

This is a port, so don't expect much from it. But $30 for both Shenmue games is reasonable. The graphics are obviously outdated but they still look better on PS$ than the originals. Another problem with it is that some of the cut scenes don't play properly. Perhaps they didn't really knock out all the glitches while porting them. We are all waiting for Ryo to settle it with Lan Di once and for all in Shenmue 3.

Big influences carried over from this series into future sandbox world games -- including SEGA's own Yakuza series. Shenmue starts off pretty serious, but comedic elements are spread far and wide within the story, especially when exploring parts of the town. Great to finally be able to play the second game and soon the third.

It's good to see the Shenmue series get some love after not being finished. I love the game as I have beaten both. I'm not sure newer/younger gamers will love it, but maybe like it or say that games must have sucked back in the day. I think it's worth a buy at the current price for two games.

i am so glad they brought this game back in hd and able to play in current gen console. the downfall is, there are many bugs found in this game. but i haven't really noticed any. since the last update. It is stable 30 fps only. Overall great game to relived again and in time prepare to see the end of the story for part 3 the next year 2019

The first thing anyone considering purchasing Shenmue 1 & 2 should know is that this is not a remake or remaster of the games. These are high definition ports of the games. The graphics do hold up fairly well to this day, but don't come in expecting completely redone graphics. The biggest issue with this release is that there are quite a few bugs present. I am not aware of anything completely game breaking, but there were numerous glitches present when the game released, which could be quite annoying. I'm sure some of them have likely been fixed with patches that have been released at this point, but I can't account for every single one, and the game should not have been released in such a buggy state. If you can get past the annoying bugs, these games are definitely worth playing, especially if you have not ever played them, and are planning to pick up Shenmue 3 when it finally releases.

A nostalgic classic to own from the original Dreamcast system! Bring back your memories as a kid to the current console with upgraded graphics! Definitely recommend purchasing to add to your collection!

When I found out Shenmue 1 and 2 were being released on PS4, I just had to have this. I never got to play part 2 because of it going to the Xbox, but now I finally can. This series was revolutionary, and it feels so good to play it again 18 years later.

Shenmue 1+2 is a must have to prepare for Shenmue 3 (out 2019). Was a classic on the Dreamcast and Xbox. It’s good to have both on 1 disc as Dreamcast had 4 discs and shenmue 2 was only on Xbox. Grab this game indulge and prepare for a wonderful story.

I’ve been a big fan of this franchise ever since it first appeared on the beloved Dreamcast. What a treat to find this on the PS4 and on top of that a great deal at only $9 , you just can’t pass this deal up.

If you loved Shenmue back on the Dreamcast/Xbox then you will love this. If your not interested in old games or cant tolerate old clunky controls and mechanics then I'd stay away. To me these games are masterpieces that I can play over and over again.

The visuals are dated but the game play is long, it's nostalgic look give it it's charm but, it feels ore like a treasure hunt full of waiting in real time for places to open and people to find by back tracking. Otherwise if you want to kill time without it being boring, this is the game for you.

This is a remaster of two classic games. The Shenmue series has a cult following. Apart from the story, there's a city to be explored, that feels alive. Doesn't hold up great to today's standards, but I would still recommend giving it a shot.

2 Excellent games! I’ve been a Shenmue fan since it was on Dreamcast years ago. With Shenmue III now out, this is highly recommended if you need a refresh on the storyline.

I'm so glad they brought back these games, as far back as from the days of dreamcast! All for the release of part 3 which looks wonderful. If you're going to broach part 3, make sure you pass through these first.

These are two games that I'm not even sure I can review correctly because of how many fond memories I have from playing this years and years ago on the Dreamcast. I believe you either love Shenmue or you hate it, and I'm in the love category. They are considered slow and clunky games by today's standards, but for the time they were released they had so many new and exciting things that just weren't seen in other games. The attention to detail and "the little things" are what made these games so beloved by many. Today, those details and little things can be seen all over, especially in GTA and other open world games, and I believe Shenmue has a lot to thank for this. These games are what really opened my eyes to what "video games" could become in the future.

this great is awesome. the only game that really enjoy out most from the other dreamcast games. im glad it's release it. great story, great and beauty of it to much to explain
