Customers are positive about the sound quality, comfort, battery life, open-ear design, fit, bone conduction, and lightweight features of the OpenRun Pro Premium Bone Conduction Open-Ear Sport Headphones. They appreciate the clear and immersive sound, comfortable and secure fit, long battery life, ability to hear their surroundings, lightweight design, and innovative bone conduction technology.
On the other hand, customers are negative about the volume, bass, price, connectivity, and microphone. They feel the volume could be louder, the bass is lacking, the price is high, the connectivity is unstable, and the microphone could be improved for better call quality.

Great, it would be better if used USBC to charge instead of the unique connection.

If you’re seeking headphones that prioritize safety, comfort, and situational awareness during outdoor activities, Shokz’s bone-conduction models—particularly the OpenRun and OpenRun Pro—offer compelling options. Here’s a comprehensive review to help you determine which model suits your needs.
⸻
Shokz OpenRun & OpenRun Pro: Overview
OpenRun: Ideal for budget-conscious users, the OpenRun provides solid sound quality with an IP67 waterproof rating, making it suitable for various weather conditions.
OpenRun Pro: A premium choice, the OpenRun Pro enhances audio quality with added bass and offers improved comfort features.
⸻
Sound Quality
OpenRun: Delivers clear audio, especially in mid and high frequencies. While bass is present, it lacks the depth found in traditional earbuds.
OpenRun Pro: Features TurboPitch technology, enhancing bass response and overall sound richness. This makes it more suitable for bass-heavy music genres.
⸻
Comfort & Fit
Both models are lightweight and designed for secure fit during physical activities. The OpenRun Pro, however, offers a more refined fit with less clamping force, making it comfortable even for extended wear or when wearing glasses.
⸻
Battery Life & Charging
OpenRun: Offers up to 8 hours of playback with a quick charge feature providing 90 minutes of use from a 10-minute charge.
OpenRun Pro: Extends battery life up to 10 hours and includes a rapid charge feature—5 minutes of charging yields approximately 1.5 hours of playback.
⸻
Durability & Water Resistance
OpenRun: Boasts an IP67 rating, ensuring protection against dust and water immersion up to 1 meter.
OpenRun Pro: Has an IP55 rating, offering protection against limited dust ingress and water spray. While sufficient for sweat and light rain, it’s less robust than the OpenRun in this aspect.
⸻
Controls & Connectivity
Both models support Bluetooth connectivity and feature intuitive controls for volume, playback, and calls. The OpenRun Pro additionally offers EQ settings accessible via the Shokz app, allowing users to customize audio profiles.
⸻
Final Verdict
• Choose OpenRun if you prioritize water resistance and a more affordable price point.
• Opt for OpenRun Pro if enhanced audio quality and additional comfort features are worth the investment.
Both models excel in providing situational awareness, making them excellent choices for outdoor enthusiasts.

I love this item I can keep it on at work and no one notices it's on me and I'm still able to hear everybody else around me. The only thing is when I start a machine I have to put it on Max volume. The machine I use is a high speed furniture I am a custodian.

Could not get used to wearing these. My Beats ear phones are much better. Best Buy would not allow my to exchange after 2 weeks. What a waste of 200.00. Will no longer buy anything from Best Buy. Hello Amazon!!!

The original Shokz OpenRun Pro (launched September 2021) is a lightweight (~27 g), durable bone‑conduction headset ideal for runners and cyclists. It offers surprisingly clear sound and enhanced bass over earlier models while keeping your ears open for ambient awareness, thanks to PremiumPitch 2.0+ drivers, Bluetooth 5.1, multipoint connectivity, app-based EQ, and fast charging (5 min = ~90 min playback)

. However, it uses a proprietary magnetic charging cable—a specific two-pin connector unique to Shokz—that’s convenient but means you can’t just grab any old USB-C cord if you lose it

. The IP55 water resistance is solid but not swim-friendly, and mic quality is merely average. Overall, it’s a feature-packed, comfortable pick for outdoor use—just be sure to keep track of that one-of-a-kind charger or order a spare.

These things work really well, audio is decently clear, but dont expect headphone or ear buds quality music. But its really nice to listen to music while still hearing things around you. Only drawback is battery life with a weird charger. Tgey shoukd use a usb-c charger which is very common.

I’ve been curious about these for a long time but i was nervous spending so much on an unfamiliar technology. They were deeply discounted recently and I got them. Im glad i did. Im glad I got a good price, but i think they’re worth more than I paid. They sound great, but most importnatly to me, they fit great. I wear them when I take my dog for walks, grocery shopping and when I ride my bike. They’re so comfortable, I often forget I have them on after a walk and only remember when i go to adjust my hair and feel them. Calls sound great, BT connection is solid, battery life is great. The controls are simple and easy to find and operate while wearing. I have just a couple things i wish were better, but these are very minor issues. I wish they turned off automatically after being idle for a long time, they could be a smidge louder, and I’d like a less bulky case with a built in charger. Although, the battery lasts so long that i havent needed to charge them often and having the charger separate allows for using a different case. They do have a new version that are two separate pieces more like traditional earbuds, but I actually like that these are connected becasue it makes them super securely attached to my head. Speaking of my head, its a big one and these fit no problem. I love these and they’ve quickly become my main set of headphones.

absolutely love my Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones! The bone conduction technology works beautifully—I can listen to music or take calls clearly while still being aware of my surroundings, which makes them perfect for running and cycling. The fit is lightweight and comfortable, even during long workouts, and they never slip out of place.
The sound quality is excellent for open-ear headphones—surprisingly rich with good bass—and the battery life is impressive. I can get through multiple workouts on a single charge, and the quick charge feature is a lifesaver when I’m in a rush.
I also really like the Steel Blue color—sleek and stylish without being flashy. Overall, these are the best sport headphones I’ve owned: safe, comfortable, and premium quality. Highly recommend them to anyone who wants great audio without sacrificing awareness.

Was in the market for a pair of headphones for running, hiking, and other physical activity. Picked up the OpenRun Pro based off of Reddit recommendations.
Was impressed with the fit and the tech. I had not previously experienced audio through bone conduction and came away impressed at the clarity of audio (at lower levels). The headphones felt comfortable out of the box and held up extremely well during runs/heavy workouts. Not having anything in the ears was a plus as well.
Sadly, the audio quality just isn't there yet. While fairly clear at lower levels, the audio distorts a bit at higher levels (which I needed during runs as you your surroundings are much louder than with in-ear or over-the-ear headphones). The bass was also lacking, though that wasn't a huge issue for me as I don't like overdoing it on bass. I do like a little bit of bass, and it just gets lost, especially when doing physical activity.
Battery life was fairly decent, no connection issues with an iPhone 11.
Sadly, the audio quality was enough for me to move on. I'd still recommend these headphones for those working out in quieter areas or at home. I'd even recommend them for people with difficulty hearing. The bone conduction tech is pretty neat and I'm excited to see how it improves over the years.

They hold charge well, the carrying case is great. Audio is great & connects quickly & easily to your device. I feel safer running trails and love that it's comfy to wear with sunglasses and/or a visor. I've used it for meetings and audio on both sides is perfect.
Couple things I'd change in a future version: something to hold the charging cable in place in the case, more volume options (in some situations 1 is too quiet and one up is too loud)

Let me begin this review by stating I purchased these solely for gym use. They are NOT my “go-to” headphones for supreme sound quality and immersion. For quality, these are sufficient but nowhere near premium. And that was ok with me.
These headphones are phenomenal for what I wanted. They stay firmly attached to my head while I jog. They are so comfortable that I often forget I am wearing them. I enjoy listening to podcasts and music. These have a lot more bass than what I expected! The sound quality is satisfactory and I am confident when I wear them that I am not disturbing others around me, even when the volume on the device is turned up all the way (as it usually is because these are somewhat quiet).
It is a unique feeling to be able to listen to music while being able to have a conversation with the person next to you. To that end, it is quite wonderful and I can maintain awareness of my surroundings while using them.
In closing, if you are considering getting these for sport purposes, DO IT. They are worth it.
If you want something with more premium features and quality, keep looking.

These headphones are the best I have ever had. The sound is perfect, the fit is absolutely wonderful they don't bother you because they they are on the temples and not in your ears. So I have sever ear issues. I cannot wear headphones that go into my ear so I invested in these headphones, they wrap around your ears and sit outside if your ear! They are super comfortable and I’m so happy I invested in these! They are sport proof, so that includes water proof and sweat proof. I use these in the shower, at work and just about every other activity I go to! Gals they are concealable you can put them on and if you have longer hair, you can definitely hide them! The sound quality is perfect and the music sounds like you are hearing it in person! I’d recommend buying these! So so so worth it! I’d also like to add that these have a battery that last me about 12 hours! So please do yourself a favor and invest in a pair today!!!

I’ve been using the Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones for a few weeks now, and they have been a game-changer for my workouts. The bone conduction technology allows me to stay aware of my surroundings while enjoying my music, which is perfect for running and cycling outdoors. The sound quality is impressive, with clear audio and good bass.
The headphones are lightweight and comfortable, even during long sessions. The battery life is excellent, lasting through multiple workouts without needing a recharge. Connectivity is seamless, and I haven’t experienced any dropouts or issues.
Overall, the Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones are a fantastic choice for anyone with an active lifestyle. They offer great sound quality, comfort, and safety features, making them well worth the investment.
