i am going to be honest with you guys, i have seen this movie over and over and over again, i lost count about how many times, and yet i keep finding new small things from it! and that ending oh man, i am still confused about it. depends on the way you see it. the movie is so engaging and entertaining, leonardo di capris always brings top notch acting and so does mark ruffle. let me tell you tho for you action movie junkies, if you guys are expecting action of any kind, stay away. this is all dialogue, engaging as well. you don't need marvel movies and heavy cgi action to make a great movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio is great in this mystery/thriller.

This Blu-Ray edition simply offers the movie in better clarity than DVD. That is the only advantage of this over the DVD Special Edition release, which was loaded with behind-the-scenes bits. I know a lot of people don't bother with home video disc extra features, and I usually only watch those once, but this does not even have a menu or chapters. Most Mill Creek Direct produced discs are cheaply produced, without proper menus and with poor packaging. Still, if this is priced really low and you want to watch the movie with better clarity, it serves that purpose.

Thought I had seen this movie years ago but to my pleasant surprise I was mistaken. It was great! Well acted and directed psycho thriller and riveting to the end. The 4K transfer was very well done too. Picture quality was very good and detailed on a 75 inch Screen. Audio was distinct and balanced consisting mostly of dialogue except for a few action scenes . I also liked the excellent musical background score which added to the suspense.

Superb and creepy thriller from the great Martin Scorsese based on a book by Dennis Lehane. DiCaprio in top form, as a police investigator searching for a missing person on a creepy island prison facility. Brilliantly shot, acted, and edited, with great tension, it's a top notch thriller. Some may argue over the conclusion, but getting to the payoff is an amazing thrill ride and a treat. It's tension, nor jump out of your seats scared, mind you. But those are the best types of thrillers. Memorable

I was not expecting Shutter Island to be so good. Seriously, how many films starring the same guy over the course of a decade can be excellent? My husband is the Movie D.J. He already knew this film is great, which is why he chose it for us to watch! The Movie D.J. is also a film reviewer, so he warned me ahead of time that this film had mixt reviews. i Guess some people did notLike the twist of the plot. Well, as far as i Am concerned, Leonardo DiCaprio is yet again a superb act! And what a chilling, thrilling film. Highly Recommended.

Shutter Island is the kind of thriller which I thought had died in the late 90s early 2000s, the final nail in the coffin being diven in by crap like Gothika. Then comes Marty Scorsese and his pal Leonardo DiCaprio aided by excellent supporting players like Max Von Sydow to show everyone how to make a mind bending thriller. This 4k presentation is excellent--this is the perfect film to showcase the power of HDR.

This movie is a psychological suspense/thriller about two police marshals, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo, who go to Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of a young psych ward patient, who has fled her room in an asylum for the mentally insane. These are people whom society has outcasted due to the horrific nature of the crimes they have committed. This movie was very interesting and I would like to watch it again, just to make sure I haven't missed anything more worthwhile about this fascinating thriller!

A haunting exploration of madness and the horrors that humans put themselves through, willingly or not. Some intense imagery, fine performances from DiCaprio, Kingsley, Ruffalo, et.al. Scorsesy's filmmaking is a little restrained from many of his flashy stylistic trademarks, and it makes the film all that more brilliant. Great ending, some call it a twist, but I'd say if you were paying attention there's enough foreshadowing to make it the inevitable ending--that you were hoping wasn't going to happen. Highly recommended.
